Area-A(2): Aile and Prairie's Home
It was a rather warm summer night, a breeze gently moved throughout the trees. In the midst of the trees, was a small house without a single light. Inside, the bedroom was quiet, the lone occupant seemed to be sleeping soundly.
"P...Prairie..."
However, her peaceful expression quickly changed to one of fear. Still asleep, Aile's arms snaked their way to the opposite side of the bed. They began to grasp at the sheets, possibly trying to find something that should have been there.
"Prairie!?"
Red eyes shot open in the dark as the girl jumped awake. She clenched the blankets as her whole body shook. Breathing heavily she slowly lifted her hands and examined them. Her eyes then filled with tears as several thoughts forced their way into her mind.
Each forcing her to remember what she had just experienced.
"Prairie...I'm sorry..."
As the tears began to fall Aile pushed the blankets off of her. Jumping out of the bed, everything felt off to the girl. Besides her, the room was empty, and that thought sent ice into her heart. Fear prodded her thoughts, telling her that dream was real.
Rushing out of the room, Aile stumbled through the house, aiming for Prairie's office. There was only one way to silence the dream's voices, and she was in that room.
Easily the girl found her way in the dark, and soon she found herself standing in front of the door. Relief from the fear she felt was just on the other side, but something stopped her.
What if it had been real, and she wasn't there?
Shaking her head Aile took a shuddering breath as she gripped the door's handle. Wiping tears, and sweat from her face she reminded herself of her Brother's words.
"I have to be brave...for Prairie..."
And with that Aile quickly turned the handle and pushed the door open. Light filled the hall, as did a wave of relief as Aile's eyes met Prairie's. The pink clad girl looked up from her book as Aile stumbled into the room. Aile slowly lifted her hands towards Prairie, hoping this was real. Her next words came out quiet and weak.
"Prairie...yo-you're okay..."
"Of course I am. Aile? What's wrong?"
Without another word Aile rushed into the room, grabbing Prairie and pulling her into a hug. Prairie didn't understand why Aile was acting like this, but she quickly returned the hug.
"Prairie...I-I...had a bad dream..."
"Do you want to tell me what happened?"
Aile's only response was to shake her head, causing Prairie to sigh. When the pink clad girl removed her hands from Aile's back, she noticed how wet they were. Frowning Prairie looked down and noticed that Aile's night shirt was missing.
"Aile, what happened to your shirt?"
There was a silence, but Aile sniffed as she answered.
"It was too hot, took it off."
The response caused Prairie to sigh, she knew what had happened. Gently Prairie pushed Aile away, and quickly gave the girl a smile when she looked confused.
"Aile, that bad dream you had was caused by you overheating."
Aile's confusion only seemed to worsen, but Prairie didn't say anything else. Instead she slowly stood and pulled Aile to her feet. Making sure to take the girl's hand, Prairie gave it a comforting squeeze as she quickly led Aile out of the room.
Making their way back to the bedroom, Prairie led Aile inside and back onto the bed. With that finished Prairie turned and spotted Aile's box fan. Upon realizing that it was off she turned to Aile with a raised eyebrow.
"Why isn't this on?"
"You said that you couldn't sleep with noise."
"Aile I lived on an airship for five years, I think I can handle a simple fan."
Turning back to the fan Prairie quickly turned it to its highest setting. Shifting it closer to the bed she then picked up Aile's discarded night shirt, handing it to the girl.
"Put this on, really don't want to deal with people walking in while you're exposed."
Aile nodded as she took the shirt, quickly putting it on as Prairie gave her a warm smile.
"Now, with this cooling the room, you hopefully won't have anymore heat induced nightmares."
When she was finished Prairie started to leave the room and return to her office, but a tug on her nightgown and a whimper made her turn back to Aile. The girl gave Prairie a pout as she began talking.
"Could you stay until I'm asleep?"
Taking a few seconds to think, Prairie sighed and moved towards her side of the bed. When she got under the blanket, Aile quickly pulled her into a hug. She nuzzled her face into Prairie's front as she got comfortable. It wasn't long before her breathing slowed, telling her that Aile was asleep. Giggling, Prairie kissed the top of Aile's head.
"Sleep well Aile."
Another chapter complete, I hope you enjoyed!
World: Trials of the Chosen

Plot: Prairie comforts Aile after she has a bad dream.
Okay, this was kind of based on something that happened to me. I can't stand heat, so much so that there are times when I have horrible nightmares in the summer.
Once when I was younger, I woke up crying, I didn't sleep the rest of the night. And that is one of the many reasons winter is my favorite season.
When I imagine the expressions Aile makes after waking up, I feel really bad. The dream she had was actually from a dropped concept, so yeah.
Anyway, again I hope you enjoyed.
Have a nice day!
