Hello, readers. I just wanted to mention something about Grima. This is an inaccurate depiction of the Grima seen in Awakening, I know, but that's because it's an alternate universe Grima. Which also explains why the actual dragon Grima seems to be a separate character from the human Grima that's running around everywhere, and why Tiki is a vessel of Naga. (Read the prologue if you have no idea what I'm talking about.) Anyways, onwards with the story. Allons-y!

CHAPTER 28: Splitting Up Again

"Hi, guys! Need a bit of help with these Spiritombs?" Jigglypuff asked.

Robin stared at the Spiritombs. "Uh, I don't know. They look a bit tough."

Jigglypuff puffed up her cheeks. "Excuse me, I'm ten times as tough as all six of them combined!"

Pikachu nodded. "Don't doubt her. She was 2nd place in the second tournament, only losing to Marth."

Ike flinched. "I saw replays of that match. That last Rest came so close to knocking out Marth."

Jigglypuff ran up to the Spiritombs (who were just beginning to wake up) and inhaled. A second later, she let out a loud cry. The Spiritombs fell over, defeated, despite the cry not being loud enough to damage anybody.

"Wait, wait... How did that hurt them?" exclaimed Robin.

"That attack was Disarming Voice, a fairy type move, which happens to be super effective against dark types. Spiritombs are dark types." Greninja explained, "According to Pokemon researchers, the attack 'does emotional damage to the opposing Pokemon'."

"That... makes no sense."

"Many of our attacks don't."

Ganon growled. "You fools. Blabbering away as if you were safe... The Spiritombs may be unable to fight, but I can still wipe you five out!"

Jigglypuff let out a sinister giggle, and Ganon froze.

"Ah, Ganondorf. I haven't seen you since the last tournament. Tell me, have your injuries from that battle healed yet?"

Ganon gulped and brought a hand to his shoulder. "I... you..."

He looked behind him as if considering escape. "I-I'll get you eventually!" he stammered, dashing into the forest.

Robin stared wide-eyed at the pink puffball. "What did you do to him that scared him that much?"

"I absolutely annihilated his wimpy Gerudo posterior until he begged for mercy, and I showed him how close a mortal creature can get to having the power of a god." she replied cheerfully.

"...Remind me never to anger you."

"So Jigglypuff," Pikachu said, "do you know where any of the other Smashers are?"

Jigglypuff thought for a second. "Hmm... All I know is that you, Ike, Greninja, and I were the only ones who stayed in Kalos. Everyone else flew off to who knows where."

"Wait, so you're absolutely sure there's no one left in Kalos?" Robin asked.

"Yeah. As soon as they said that the evil guy and Palkia were about to attack, I flew to the top of Lumiose Tower. Ike and Greninja hid in a Pokemon Center and Pikachu stayed in the hotel. I'm pretty sure he was the only one who did... Well anyways, I saw him leave with Robin on a pegasus later."

Greninja stared. "A... pegasus?"

As if summoned, Lovebirds the pegasus landed next to them, startling Greninja and Jigglypuff.

"A pegasus!" Ike marveled, "She looks to be in fine condition."

"Her owner, Sumia, takes good care of her." Robin stroked his chin. "Anyways... I think we should split up again."

"Again?" Pikachu exclaimed, "Why?"

"Well Kalos has no more Smashers left. It'd be wise to spread out and have more people looking."

Ike nodded. "He's right. I think that'd be the best option at the moment. So, how should we split up?"

Robin pulled out the map Captain Falcon had given him and studied it for a bit, before putting it down.

"Alright, so Greninja and Jigglypuff, you two should go to... uh, 'Bionis'. We have nobody there. I'm not sure about how you'll get there, seeing as there's a whole ocean in the way..."

"We can switch off," Jigglypuff offered, "Greninja can grab hold of my feet and I'll float, and when I get tired, he'll swim with me on his back."

Robin looked to Greninja and the frog Pokemon nodded. "Sounds fair to me."

"Alright, then Pikachu, Sir Ike, and I will ride Sumia's pegasus to... the Mushroom Kingdom. Lucina, Cynthia, and Frederick may require assistance finding Smashers, seeing as none of them have actually met any of them." Robin said.

Pikachu thought for a second. "What about your wife? She didn't have anyone with her to identify Smashers."

Robin shook his head. "Lissa should be fine, with Morgan there. Morgan is resourceful enough to find out who's a Smasher."

"Well, then let's depart." Ike said.

The five nodded and split up.

...

Yes, another split up. I feel like it'd get confusing if you had to focus on too many characters at once. Then again, I'm sending three of these guys to the Mushroom Kingdom, which already has five people there. ...I don't even know anymore. Whatever.
