Hello again. I would like to thank SummerMistedDragon for the review.
So here we are, again in season 9, episode 4 'Slumber Party'. Here's the next chapter enjoy.
Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural.
Gabriel appeared in the doorway to Dean's room to see Charlie laid out on his bed. He knew what that meant. Looking at her he could tell the girl was dead. And somewhere inside him he felt pain and sorrow for her loss. He hadn't known her for long, but she had been so good with Cassie. And she obliviously cared. It was strange, he had spent so many years not giving a shit about anything, and now here he was grieving the loss of a girl he had known for a little over 24 hours.
"Gabriel, fix her." Dean begged when the archangel appeared in the doorway, tears streaming down his face.
Gabriel removed his eyes from Charlie's still form and looked at Dean. He knew how much Dean cared for her, but what he was asking? It wasn't something that Gabriel could do easily. Once upon a time, yeah he could have brought her back to life with just a click of his fingers. But this was now not then. And he was cut off from the power of heaven. Taking a deep breath he spoken carefully to Dean. He really didn't want the hunter to kill him for the words that were about to come out of his mouth.
"If I do this Dean. I won't be able to help. This will take everything I have."
"She gave her life for mine Gabe. Please, do it." Was Dean response and Gabriel just nodded. He didn't think for a second that Dean would choose his help over the life of a friend, but he had to make it clear to the hunter.
With that Gabriel made his way into the room and sat on the bed next to Charlie's body. He raised his hand to her forehead and closed his eyes. Concentrating on using his grace to pull her soul back into her body and restarting her heart. It took a lot. More than he truly had to give, but he wasn't going to give up on this girl. This bright, wonderful girl who had such a beautiful soul.
Dean stood and watched Gabriel close his eyes and prayed like he had never prayed before that it worked. He couldn't lose Charlie. She was like the little sister he had never had. And he loved her.
Suddenly Charlie sat up on the bed, knocking Gabriel off of it, with a murmur of "merry Christmas."
"Hey, I know you." She said turning to Dean who smiled in relief that she was back.
"Yeah you do. How you feeling?" He asked just taking in the sight of her.
"I'm fine. Why?" Charlie asked confused. Before Dean could reply a voice sounded from beside the bed.
"I'm fine to Dean-o. No need to ask."
Looking over the edge Charlie saw Gabriel lying flat on his back on the floor.
"What are you doing down there?" She asked with a frown. What had she missed?
"Oh nothing much, just bringing you back to life. Nothing special." Gabriel replied with a groan as he pulled himself up into a sitting position. Even that movement was making his head spin.
"What?" Charlie asked turning wide eyes on Dean.
"Yeah, the Witch killed you and took the key, but Gabe brought you back so its all good. I also clipped her with a poppy bullet." Dean replied trying for a cheery voice but knowing he failed.
"She will still be here if she's wounded." Dorothy said from the doorway taking in the sight before her.
"Okay. So I'll just go hunt her down." Dean replied moving towards the door. "you coming?" he asked Dorothy, pretty sure that both Charlie and Gabe were out of commission.
"We'll catch up." Dorothy replied moving to check on Charlie. Before Dean could leave Charlie spoke up.
"There's still a poppy bullet in my gun." At that Dean nodded, grabbed the gun and moved out of the room pointing it in front of him.
"Hey Gabe, are you alright?" Charlie asked looking down at the archangel that had just brought her back to life. And hell was that ever a strange sentence to think, well maybe not so strange for the Winchesters.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I think I'll just go join Cassie, Sam and Kevin." Gabriel replied finally feeling able to haul himself up on to his feet. Though he did sway once he was upright and grabbed the bed for support.
"Are you sure?" Charlie asked reaching out to assist him but he just waved her off. He would be fine, and it wasn't exactly far to Kevin's room. With that thought and wave to the girls he left the room, supporting himself against the wall as he made his slow way down to the room. Once he finally got to the door he let out a sigh of relief and opened the door.
Sam and Castiel had been standing in kelvin's room, both with weapons out and alert to any danger (Kevin standing behind them holding a knife he'd grabbed), all the time they had been there. When they heard Deans scream for Gabriel Sam wanted to go instantly to find out what was going on but Castiel stopped him with a hand on his wrist.
"Gabriel is on his way Sam. Everything will be fine." Castiel said smiling up at the man, with complete faith in his brother.
And so Sam stayed. Tense, waiting for something to happen, for his world to turn upside down, but he stayed. When the door to the room opened he was ready, pulling up his gun he aimed it at whoever was about to walk through.
Gabriel opened the door and saw the gun pointed at him but he didn't have the energy to care. Instead he just pushed Sam out the way and threw himself onto the bed with a soft groan of happiness at finally being able to lay down.
"Gabriel are you all right?" Castiel asked frowning at his brother's behaviour. He had never seen him this bad.
"I'm fine kiddo, just a bit tied." was Gabriel mumbled response.
"What happened Gabe?" Sam asked tersely. He needed to know what was going on.
"The Witch has the key to Oz and Charlie died." Gabriel replied as succinctly as he could. He would have elaborated for the man, but he was finding it really hard to talk.
"Charlie's dead?" Sam asked in disbelief, no she couldn't be.
"No. I brought her back." Gabriel replied turning over so he could see Sam's face.
"Oh, okay, where's Dean?"Sam asked fearful for his brother.
"Hunting the Wicked Bitch. Ready to do some serious damage if his face was anything to go by." Gabriel replied with closed eyes. He needed to recharge. Right now.
"Is he alone?" Sam demanded. Who had his brothers back if Gabriel was here with them?
"Yes."
"Right. I'm going after him. Cas you stay here and look after Gabe and Kevin okay?" Sam decided. His brother was not hunting alone and that was final.
"Sam, take this. It has a poppy bullet which will stun the Bitch." Gabriel said holding the gun Dean had given him out to Sam but not moving anything else. He really needed to sleep, but he couldn't, not yet. Not until this situation was resolved.
With that Sam grabbed the gun from the archangel and moved out of the door with the aim to find his brother.
