The words felt as if he had just stabbed her with a thousand needles. She should have known that he would react this way. it was a dumb idea to go after Jack's group like that on her own.

Daryl turned around and started to walk away. "Daryl, wait." Harley breathed as she stepped forward. Daryl stopped in his tracks, though he didn't turn around. It was the best reaction she would probably get. Harley figured it was best to just swallow her pride. "I wanted to thank you. For what you did." she said softy as she hugged herself because of the cold. She heard Daryl snort. "Whatever." he grumbled in response.

Daryl strolled off in the opposite direction, not facing her again. Harley looked down at the ground for a few seconds before heading back towards the house. Once inside, she ran up the stairs to the master bedroom. The last thing she wanted, was to talk someone. She felt vulnerable, as if she had just made a very big commitment to someone. Maybe she had just confessed to him and herself that she truly did care about him by saying sorry. Harley closed the door behind her and walked towards the bed. Even though Maggie was still in the same position as when Harley had left, her eyes were opened. Harley sat down on the bed. She leaned with her arms on her knees and let her head rest on them. Did Daryl just throw their friendship away? She didn't know. It was the same thing as usual; him leaving her again without saying anything, while she would make up the most ridicilous theories.

"He was here everyday, ya know."

Harley sighed. "What?" she repeated, not understanding what Maggie was trying to say. "I said, he was here everyday. Daryl stayed by yer side and wanted ta be here whenever Hershel was treatin' ya. As if he didn' trust anybody alone with ya."

The words stung. Why hadn't he said anything about it? "Jesus Christ." Harley moaned as her head started to ache from all the information. She heard Maggie giggle. "He cares 'bout ya. Never in tha 2 years I've spent with him I ever thought Daryl could care 'bout someone. Guess I was wrong."

Harley stood up and peeked outside the window. She saw Daryl in the distance, though a normal person wouldn't have noticed him standing there. "What 'r ya goin' ta do?" Maggie asked, confused, when Harley opened the bedroom door. Harley shook her head. "Something I should've done a long fucking time ago." she replied before she closed the door behind her again. When she walked down the stairs and made her towards him, she felt angry and nervous at the same time. It was time to cut the crap already and give him a piece of her mind.

Harley jogged towards Daryl, whose back was turned towards her. When he heard her, he raised his crossbow and turned around. Though when he saw Harley standing in front of him, he lowered it right away.

Harley stepped forward. Her eyes spat fire and her hands were fisted against her sides. "What tha hell?" Daryl growled. "Can't ya jus' leave me alone for fucks sake?!" he continued as he raised his voice.

Harley ran towards him and without thinking, she pressed her lips onto his.

It lasted for only a few seconds. Daryl flinched and his eyes were wide open in shock. It was clear that he hadn't seen this coming. Harley stepped back and looked at Daryl, anticipating for him to say something. Daryl's furious expression had changed into the usual unreadable one. Harley lowered her gaze and was about to turn around again, when suddenly two strong hands stopped her. The hunter dropped his crossbow and pinned Harley against the nearest tree. He didn't say anything, but roughly crashed her lips against hers.

Harley smirked under their kiss, though Daryl growled and grasped her shoulders as a warning, before their tongues found eachother and fought for dominance. Harley laid her hands behind his neck, as if she was afraid he'd leave. But she was wrong. They continued to kiss, while Daryl softly stroked her arms, neck and shoulders.

After what seemed to feel like 10 minutes, they let go of eachother. Both of them panted heavily. Daryl sighed and shook his head. He wanted to turn around and leave, but Harley had already prepared for this reaction. "Don't you fucking walk away." she said calmly. Daryl stopped. "We can't do this. This ain't goin' ta work 'n ya damn well know it."

She rolled her eyes. "You're such a fucking pessimist. Why didn't you tell me about how you stayed with me while I was unconscious?!" she yelled. Daryl glared at her. "Keep yer voice down." he hissed as he fully turned around to face her. Harley bit her lower lip. "Doesn't matter anymore. Git back inside." he gestured at the house and grabbed his crossbow. Harley shook her head and ran a hand through her long hair. "Can't you just tell me—" "I said leave it, Harley! Jus' go tha fuck inside 'n forget this ever happened!"
