Always Getting Over You:

My Brother's Keeper:

ThisIsMeAndYou –

You, my dear, just catapulted your way to number one reviewer! Thank you for the marvellous suggestions. I will definitely take them into consideration because I just adore idea of Rhea saving the day.

Caroline POV:

"I don't think I'm going to go to the Miss Mystic Falls pageant." I heard Stefan say from the other end of the phone line and I froze where I was in the middle of fixing a place setting at the Lockwood Mansion where the pageant was being held the next day.

"What do you mean you're not coming? I don't need to remind you that your Miss Mystic Falls attendance record totally sucks." I reminded my best friend pointedly as I tightened my hold on the clipboard in my hand and began walking down the stairs at the front of the mansion with my cell phone held up to my ear. "Besides, you're a founding family member, by definition you have to be here."

"Maybe 160 years ago when I was human." Stefan joked with me lightly and I nearly froze again in surprise because it was so rare that the youngest Salvatore displayed a sense of humour but I guess that was the affect Rhea had on him. I strolled over to one of the tables where Gabby from school was trying to arrange some flowers for the centrepieces and I shook my head in exasperation as I nodded for her to go away before rearranging them to my satisfaction.

"Rhea's coming. How's it going to look if she shows up without an escort? Just think about it, please. How are you going with your feeding issues?" I asked him in a soft voice as I lowered my voice so that no one would overhear me and glanced around to make sure no one was near me.

"Rhea's been helping me learn some moderation. She's an Original so she can make sure I don't kill anyone. I don't feel like I'm going to rip into someone's artery and feed until I can't breathe anymore."

"Well, you can't. As your sober sponsor, I am not going to let that happen. Try and sublimate." I encouraged him in a bright voice as I corrected a placemat on the table and then walked over to the next table as I straightened the tablecloth. "Oh, BTW, Elena told me that she has feelings for Damon. She can't have feelings for Damon! He's… Damon. And you're… you. And I'm – revolted. She can't go from the perfect boyfriend, AKA, you, to the devil in disguise, AKA, Damon. You know, I'm gonna talk to her. I'm going to shake some sense into her clearly diseased brain."

"Yeah, well I don't know what good that'll do. Elena's right, being a vampire really has changed her." Stefan said sadly as I walked over to another table and I frowned to myself as I ran a hand through my loose blonde curls.

"All the more reason you need to cure her." I told him in a firm voice as I shook my head once to clear it of all the negative thoughts and then turned on my heel to face the front of the Lockwood Mansion.

"I'm more concerned about finding it for myself actually." Stefan admitted shyly through the phone line and my mouth fell open in shock at his words as I stopped walking towards the front of the house.

"You want the cure? What about Rhea?" I asked him in a rush as I quickly glanced around the large grassy area as I sunk down onto one of the chair chairs at a table because I figured this was going to be a serious conversation.

"Yeah. Rhea and I discussed it when we first found out about the possibility of a cure. We want to grow old together. We want to have careers and children and you know, age and die." The youngest Salvatore told me softly and I could practically hear the smile on his lips through the phone line and I bit my lower lip to stifle my surprised gasp. I made an involuntary squeaking noise as I clamped my lips together to stop from gushing about how cute Stefan and Rhea's children would be and I heard Stefan chuckled deeply from the other side of the phone. "Hey, you should be all for this you know! Who do you think would be godmother to our children?"

"Eep!" I squealed excitedly as I grinned widely and balanced the cell phone between my shoulder and ear as I clapped my hands together. "You would make me godmother?"

"Well, we want four. Two for you, two for Rebekah."

"Yay! Now, you have to find the cure because I want my godchildren!" I ordered him playfully as I stood up from the chair with a smirk and grabbed the clipboard that had fallen to the ground when I sat down abruptly.

"I'll get right on that?" Stefan stated but it came out more like a question as he laughed heartily at me and I giggled with him as I practically skipped happily over to one of the flower displays.

"I'm sure you guys are getting lots of practice in." I said to him slyly as I smiled saucily to myself and fixed the flower arrangement so that it didn't look like it was designed by a colour blind monkey.

"I'm hanging up now." Stefan told me sternly as he hung up on the other end and I laughed happily at my best friend as I hung up my cell phone. I shook my head a little as I tried to wipe the smile from my face but I was just so happy that Stefan was finally so happy with someone after all he had been through in his vampire life.

"Woah, woah, woah, stop, stop!" I ordered sternly when I saw three girls from school walking towards the front of the house with flower arrangements in their hands and I watched as they turned around to face me with confused frowns on their faces. "Those flowers go in the back as indicated by the floral chart that you guys had plenty of time to memorize. Yeah, thank you."

"Of course, Caroline." One of the girls replied a little warily as they quickly walked around to the back of the Lockwood Mansion and I sighed to myself as I looked down at the clipboard in my hand so that I knew what I needed to do next.

"Now, how did I know I'd find you at the helm of the ship?" I heard a familiar man's accented voice asked from behind me and I immediately froze with my eyes on the clipboard in front of me as I bit my lower lip nervously.

"Go away. I'm busy." I said in a clipped tone as I tried not to be drawn into the melodic sound of his voice and nibbled on my lip to distract myself as I tightened my hold on the clipboard.

"I was wondering what time I should pick you up tomorrow." Klaus said innocently in his delicious voice as he moved forward towards me and I frowned in confusion as I glanced up at him with wide eyes. His light blue eyes were softened as he strolled forward with a small smile on his lips and his hands clasped behind his back as he tilted his head to the side. I sucked in an unnecessary breath as I held my head up higher in defiance and straightened my spine as I tried to remember that Tyler and I were only faking not being together.

"What are you talking about, Klaus?" I asked him sharply as I turned my body to face him and cocked my hip to the side with my hand resting on it as I quirked an eyebrow at the Original Hybrid.

"I was promised a date in return for one of my hybrids. Surely the reigning Miss Mystic Falls won't be hosting the party alone. And I assume you're not taking Tyler. Not after his indiscretions with his lady werewolf friend." Klaus replied easily as he widened his eyes light blue eyes slightly and pouted his lips a little as he gave me puppy dog eyes.

"Just because we're half werewolf doesn't mean you can pull off the puppy dog look. Fine, you're lucky I'm in a good mood. If you insist on coming, meet me here. 2 PM. Black tie optional." I ordered him sternly as I spun around on my heels and began to walk away from him quickly in case his gorgeous face made me do something else something. A thought came to me as I was strolling up the stairs to the front door of the Lockwood Mansion and I quickly turned around to point at him with a serious expression on my face. "And I already have a dress, so don't even think of getting me so much as a corsage, you understand?"

"I'll see you tomorrow, Caroline." He said softly with a half-smile as he nodded his head submissively and I quickly flashed a smile at him before turning around to rush into the house before I could make a complete fool of myself in front of Klaus.

Rhea POV:

"Finally!" I heard Caroline call out from behind me and I turned around with a bright smile to face the beautiful blonde as she briskly made her way over to where I was standing.

"Petite luciole! You were marvellous up there." I greeted her happily as she walked to me with a serious expression on her pretty face and linked her arm through mine as she continued to walk without stopping. I frowned in confusion at her as she practically dragged me with her towards the front of the Lockwood Mansion where the Miss Mystic Falls pageant was taking place that day and I stumbled slightly in my high heels as I hurried to keep pace with Caroline. "Um, where are we going? You have the same expression Nik does when he's pissed at someone and they're going to get tortured."

"I'm not going to torture anyone!" Caroline cried indignantly as she tightened her hold on my arm until it was painful and shot me an almost panicked look because I was comparing her to my brother.

"Well, sweetheart, you're kind of torturing me at the moment." I told her in a strained voice as I glanced pointedly down to where her hand was clamped onto my arm and she frowned in confusion as she followed my gaze to her hand before letting go with an audible gasp.

"I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed as she covered her mouth with one hand in shock at her own actions and looked at me with wide apologetic blue eyes as she slowly her pace slightly so that we were walking normally.

"Eh, it's fine. Trust me, I've had worst." I said flippantly as I sent her a reassuring smile before linking my arm back through hers and she nodded slightly as her lips quirked up in a smile. Caroline expertly flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder before striding towards a familiar brunette standing at the bar with a stern expression and I sighed slightly to myself as I walked with my friend over to where Elena was standing.

"Hey, what's with the last minute escort change? Where is Jeremy?" Caroline demanded from Elena as we came to a stop in front of the doppelgänger and placed the hand not wrapped with mine on her hip as she quirked an eyebrow expectantly. I frowned in concern for Jeremy as I looked at Elena's worried expression and she turned around to face us as she reached for her cell phone.

"I'm calling him right now. He's not picking up. Matt said that Jeremy's been having nightmares about killing vampires and he's been hiding it from me." Elena explained in a anxious voice as she hung up the phone after a moment and I felt Caroline squeeze my arm as Damon sauntered over to a small group near the bar.

"Do the math. Emo teen, open bar, it's fine. Relax, I'm sure he's fine." The eldest Salvatore said to Elena in a calm voice as he shrugged his shoulders and I shot him a glare as Caroline scoffed lightly next to me.

"I've only met him three times and even I know that you're wrong." I said to Damon sardonically as I shot him a scowl and Caroline nodded in agreement as she unwrapped her arm with mine before crossing them over her chest.

"If I'm not worried, you shouldn't be worried. Let it go. I'll go look for him." Damon told Elena as he rolled his electric blue eyes at me and placed a calmly hand on her arm as she bit her lower lip nervously. Elena nodded her head slowly as she released her lip from her teeth and Damon smirked at her before walking away from our small circle without a backwards glance.

"Okay, you go home, Rhea can check the grill, I'm gonna start asking around here." Caroline ordered in her stern voice as she clapped her hands in front of her and I quirked an eyebrow at her as I nodded obediently.

"Maybe Damon's right. Maybe he grabbed a bottle from the bar and snuck off to the woods." Elena said hesitantly as she turned around to face the bar and Caroline's mouth fell open in shock as she stepped forward so that she was standing next to her friend.

"No, Damon is never right. Damon is sneaky and manipulative and rude, but he's never right. How can you not see that?"

"I don't know, but why do I think that you won't hesitate to tell me?" Elena asked wearily as she turned back to face Caroline with a blank look on her pretty face and I leaned my elbows on the bar counter top as I waited for them to finish their discussion.

"Fine, friend-tervention. I think your so called "feelings" for Damon are really starting to cloud your judgment and I don't like it." Caroline announced in a loud voice as she let her arms fall to her sides and I looked over her shoulder at Nik as he approached from behind with a cautious look on his handsome face. "And the thought of you two together really makes me want to barf."

"Easy, love, you're making a scene." Nik warned Caroline softly as he placed a gently hand on the small of her back and she glanced at him quickly before looking back at Elena with a stern expression.

"Wow, Caroline, thank you for making this very difficult time so much easier." Elena spat at her friend harshly as she narrowed her dark brown eyes at her and then turned on her heels before storming off aimlessly. I rolled my eyes at her dramatics but kept my opinion to myself because I knew that she was Caroline's best friend and regardless whether or not if they were currently fighting.

"How did I become the bad guy?" Caroline asked out loud to no one in particular as she stared at Elena's retreating figure and I smiled at her sympathetically as Nik moved to stand in front of her with a half-smile of his own.

"Let's get you a drink. I'll tell you all about being the bad guy." Nik told her with an amused smile as he grabbed a bottle of champagne from the bar counter top and Caroline bit her lip indecisively as she seemed to think about what she was going to do. I smirked at her as she glanced over at me for an answer and I nodded at her with a small smile as I backed away from the two of them.

I was walking around the Lockwood Mansion looking for any signs of Stefan or Jeremy because I didn't believe Damon when he said that the young hunter was off drinking somewhere. I heard the familiar sound of someone gasping for breath in one of the upstairs rooms as I turned a corner so I froze for a second before I took off in the direction that it had come from in order to investigate. I used my Original Vampire speed to run towards one of the numerous empty rooms upstairs and I hoped that it wasn't Stefan losing control of his bloodlust because he had being doing great. I came to a stop in the doorway of a room at the end of the hallway and my eyes widened in surprise as I watched Jeremy lodge a stake into Elena's neck. The doppelgänger let out a gasp of pain as she clutched her throat with one hand and fell to the ground on her knees as she looked up at her younger brother with wide eyes. Jeremy knelt down in front of her as his hand wrapped around the wooden stake that was still in her neck and then pulled it out harshly so that it ripped the skin as Elena let out a strangled cry of agony. The young hunter raised the stake in his hand so that it was resting over her chest as Elena closed her eyes tightly so that she wouldn't have to watch her own brother killing her and I ran forward to grab Jeremy's arm to stop him from lowering the stake.

"Jeremy!" I cried sternly in warning as I tightened my hold on his arm slightly and he turned to look at me with hard dark brown eyes as he glowered. I placed one hand on his cheek so that he had to look into my eyes as I held the stake welding arm away from Elena and she opened her dark brown eyes in surprise when she heard my voice in the room with them. "Jeremy, you don't want to do this, okay. That's your sister. It's that stupid mark on your arm."

"Shut up, Rhea!" Jeremy shouted at me angrily as he tried to fight my hold but I didn't even flinch as he struggled against me and I added pressure on his arm so that he had to look at me in the eye.

"Jeremy, look at me! I'm telling you not to hurt her." I urged him in a soft voice as I looked him directly in the eye and he relaxed in my grip as he lowered his arm that was still holding the wooden stake. I glanced over Jeremy's broad shoulder with a frown as Stefan cautiously entered the room and looked over at me with a concerned frown on his handsome face before going over to help Elena up off of the floor. The young hunter dropped the wooden stake on the floor at his feet and I looked back at him with a soft smile as he started breathing heavily with tears in his dark brown eyes. I placed my hands reassuringly on his shoulders as I firmly turned his body so that his back was towards Elena and I demonstrated how to breathe deeply as he matched my movements. "Hey, hey, hey. That's good. Okay, Jeremy, you need to leave. Go find Matt and go home, alright?"

"Okay." Jeremy agreed softly as he nodded his head jerkily up and down before covering one of my hands with his where it rested on his shoulder and I cupped his face with my hands as I nodded with a reassuring smile. I gently pushed him towards the door to the room and he left quickly without looking back at his sister as I picked up the abandoned wooden stake from the floor.

"Are you okay?" I heard Stefan ask Elena in concern as I stood back up straight and twirled the stake in my hand as I turned around to look at the ex-couple. Stefan walked across the room to stand next to me as he slipped his into my empty one and Elena ran a hand through her messy hair as she looked at our entwined hands before frowning at me.

"I'm fine." Elena ground out with her teeth clenched together as she glared at me with narrowed dark brown eyes and I frowned in confusion as she stormed out of the room in a huff. I looked up at Stefan in bewilderment to see if he knew what the hell her problem was but he was staring at the door with a puzzled expression on his handsome face. He glanced down at me as I squeezed his hand to get his attention and then I nodded my head towards the door once before we both ran out to find Elena. We spot her retreating figure marching across the grassy ground of the Lockwood Mansion on her way to the driveway where all the cars were parked for the day.

"Elena, wait." Stefan called out to the doppelgänger as we ran up behind her and she shook her head at us as she continued walking without looking back at us.

"I have to find Jeremy. This shouldn't be happening to him." Elena said angrily as we came to a slow walk behind her and Stefan dropped my hand to run a nervous hand through his tousled bronze hair with a grimace.

"Elena, wait. It's my fault." Stefan admitted to her as he grabbed her arm quickly and turned her around to face us as we all came to a stop in the middle of the vacant clearing.

"What are you talking about?" I asked my boyfriend in confusion before Elena could as I crossed my arms over my chest and turned to face him with a small frown on my lips as the brunette glowered at him.

"I'm starting to think that when a Hunter kills a vampire, the urge to keep killing gets stronger." Stefan explained to us in a defeated voice as he slumped his shoulders with a guilt grimace and I took a step closer to him with my head cocked to the side curiously.

"Tell me that Jeremy hasn't been with you this entire time. Tell me that you haven't been making him kill vampires, Stefan." Elena urged him sternly as she took a threatening step closer to Stefan and he looked at her with hardness in his forest green eyes.

"We need the map to get the cure."

"If getting my humanity back means stripping Jeremy of his, then I don't want the cure" the doppelgänger hissed at him furiously as she stepped backwards and shook her head side from side as she frowned at him.

"It's the only way." He replied simply as he shrugged his shoulders and sent me a small glance from the corner of his eye as I walked a little way away from them because I didn't want to be in the middle of Elena's tantrum.

"The only way. The only way to fix me. You don't have to love me like this. This is who I am now. The old Elena died when she went off that bridge. Let her go." Elena shouted at him as she lifted her arms in the air and I spun around to face her when she said that because I couldn't believe that she actually had the nerve to say that in front of me.

"Excuse me?!" I asked her in a loud offended voice as I marching over to stand in front of her with my hands on my hips and she turned around to glare at me as she curled her hands into fists at her side.

"I'm just saying what everyone is thinking. Everyone knows that the only reason that Stefan is even with you is because I'm not human anymore. How pathetic are you? You're willing to stay with a man that is in love with someone else just so that you're not alone. I get it. Really I do. If I had a family like yours, I would try to find someone normal too." Elena scolded me firmly in a hard voice that was actually tinged with a hint of sympathy and I scoffed at her as I crossed my arms over my chest. I glanced out the corner of my eyes at Stefan as he moved away from us because he knew that I could handle myself and that I wasn't going to kill Elena. "I get that you're jealous of me. I mean, going after Stefan, befriending Caroline, and now acting nice to Jeremy. It's very transparent and obvious but I guess that it's just genetic since Rebekah's the same."

"First of all, I was with Stefan first. We spent a year and a half together in the 1920's and we were so much in love that he was going to propose." I told her smugly as I offered her a tight smile and her face fell as she glanced over at Stefan for confirmation. He kept his handsome face blank as he nodded in confirmation that I was correct and Elena turned back to me with a defiant look as she lifted her chin in the air. "Secondly, I'm friends with Caroline because unlike you she is lovely. Inside and out. And thirdly, I'm nice to Jeremy because he's going through a lot and my brother Kol likes him. Oh, and forth?" I asked her innocently as she quirked an eyebrow at me in question and I lifted my hand to slap her across the face hard as she gasped in shock at my move. Her dark brown eyes went wide as she placed a hand on her cheek and she gaped at me as she glared at me. "Do not insult my family to me. We may act like we hate each other but in the end we always prevail. We stick together. Always and forever."

"Don't kid yourself, Rheanna. Everyone is looking for the cure for me. They care about me, not you." Elena hissed at me angrily as she took an intimidating step towards me with a scowl on her pretty face and I shook my head at her as I pushed on one of her shoulders so that she stumbled back slightly in shock.

"Bloody hell, Elena! This isn't all about you for God's sakes! You think that you're the only vampire in the world that wants the cure? You don't think that I want to be human? That Stefan wants to be human? Or Rebekah? Despite popular belief in this dreadful little town, the world does not revolve Elena Gilbert. There are 7 billion people on this planet, not just you. You've been a vampire for two seconds compared to me so don't for a minute think that you can relate to what I have been through for the last 1000 years."

"Don't push me!" she shouted at me when I pushed on her shoulder again and then she retaliated by shoving my shoulder with one hand. I gasped in surprise as she smirked triumphantly and I shoved her backwards with both hands as she grasped a hold of my upper arms tightly to stop me. I struggled in her grip as I scowled at her and grabbed onto the first thing I could which happened to be her long brunette hair. She screamed in pain as I pulled her hair harshly and I stumbled closer to her as we tried to get the other off. Elena screeched in pain as she tried to get her hair out of my fingers but I tangled them further into her long hair and she squeezed my arms tightly as we tumbled to the ground in a heap.

"Ah, let go!" I cried out as I tried to get out of her grip but she rolled us over so that she was on top of me and slapped me across the face as she smirked at me. I gasped in surprise more than pain as I pushed her off of me and used my Original Vampire strength to put me on top of her before I tried to slap her in the face but she grabbed a hold of my wrists to stop me. We struggled against each other as we both grunted in pain and I felt someone wrap their arm around my waist before pulling me off Elena. "Let go, Stefan."

"Calm down." Stefan ordered me firmly as he placed my feet on the ground but kept his arm around my waist so that I didn't attack Elena again. I stopped struggling in his grasp as I watched Elena wobbly stand up on her own and his hold loosened slightly as Elena glanced down at her now broken high heel.

"I'm calm. She started it!" I said childishly as I turned around in Stefan's arms so that I could bury my head into his muscular chest and he wrapped his arms around my shoulders as he chuckled lightly.

3rd Person POV:

Stefan and Caroline sat on the couch in the Forbes living room as he pulled them each a shot of vodka and then passed one to the blonde sitting across from him.

"Where's Rhea tonight?" Caroline asked curiously as she accepted the glass and looked around the room as though the honey haired Original would just appear out of thin air.

"Oh, um, she got into a bit of a fight with Elena earlier so she went home to clean up and relax with a bubble bath before she killed someone. She is a Mikaelson, after all." Stefan replied with a smirk as he lifted the shot glass to his lips and winked at Caroline as he drank it all in one go.

"She got into a fight with Elena? Elena must have got her ass kicked." The blonde mused quietly to herself as she drank all of her vodka at once and then placed the empty glass on the coffee table in front of her.

"Ah, I stopped them before it got too far. It doesn't really help that Elena's going to be staying at the Boarding House from now on."

"Really? Rhea's okay with you living with your ex-girlfriend?" Caroline asked in disbelief as she quirked an eyebrow at him and he refilled both of their shot glasses as he offered her a small smile.

"Actually, since Elena moved in, I decided to move out. I'm going to be staying at the Mikaelson Mansion with Rhea now since I've been staying there most nights anyway. The place is huge so I won't have to see Klaus or Rebekah. Plus, all the rooms are soundproofed." Stefan informed her with a playful smirk as she gasped at the dirty intent behind the statement because she wasn't used to the youngest Salvatore being so open and roguish.

"Good for you! I can't believe Elena went after Rhea though. Her and Damon, ugh, God. There's something wrong with her. Just promise me you won't stop looking for the cure." Caroline said with a small pout as she took the shot glass from the table and drank it all in one gulp before putting it back down. "I'm sure Klaus wouldn't let you even if you wanted to. Why does he care? He doesn't even want it."

"He wants to keep Elena human so that he can make more hybrids." Stefan informed her with a shrug as he gulped down another shot with a slight winced and then shook his head as he refilled the shot glasses with vodka.

"He's gonna need them. Tyler's almost got all of them unsired." Caroline replied quietly as she ignored the guilt that she felt for lying to Rhea and Klaus about how Tyler and Hayley were helping the hybrids get unsired. "Oh my God. Oh. My. God. I was trying to understand why Klaus was so intrigued by Damon and Elena. He said I would figure it out. This is what he was talking about."

"What are you talking about?" Stefan asked her incredulously as he watched her stand up from the couch and start pacing the length of the room as she ran a hand through her blonde hair.

"Think about it. Every time Elena's had a problem, Damon's been the magic solution. Today, Elena was worried about Jeremy. Who swoops in and tells her to relax? Damon. And she listens. When Elena started feeding, who said that she could only drink blood straight from the vein? Damon. And when she tried to drink from animals? She couldn't keep it down. And blood bags? Same thing. Name one vampire in the history of vampires who couldn't drink blood from a blood bag. Damon said she couldn't, so she couldn't. Damon likes the red dress. Elena likes the red dress. Damon says kill Connor and she kills Connor. What if it's possible? Damon's blood made her a vampire, right? It's rare, but it happens. What if this is one of those times? What if this is really happening?" Caroline ranted as she walked restlessly and then turned on her heel to stare at Stefan with wide blue eyes as he leaned forward so that his elbows were resting on his knees.

"Elena's sired to Damon."
