Loki stood on the balcony, pacing furiously. He could have easily told her who he was. There was a chance, however small, that she would have forgiven his abandonment. 'Not now.' His mind whispered, Loki sighed in defeat. No, she would never forgive him now. Not after he had abandoned her twice. "Damn it all." He swore, favouring the shorter Midgardian way of cursing. He calmed as he sat on the rail, waiting for his brother to return with the Man of iron. Then he could return to Asgard and the safety of his books. A small light appeared from inside the tower and Loki turned. He knew that if it was his brother or Stark, the room's lights would be on, not a small light from the ice box itself. He used his magic to quietly enter the room and remain hidden in the shadows. A female figure was silhouetted in the light. Clad in shorts and a tank top with her hair pulled into a ponytail. The woman retrieved a drink and opened it as she allowed the door to thud shut.

Loki tensed when she turned and he realized it was Alexandra, not Pepper as he had guessed. He believed that she had gone to her apartment and he would never see her again. But here she was walking around Stark's tower. It would seem the Norns had cruel plans to torture him further with her presence. "Alex, you sure you're feeling better? Pepper's downstairs if you need to talk." Tony said awkwardly, appearing in the doorway. "I'll be fine. Just need to cool off and some pizza in the morning." Alex smiled and Tony nodded. "Well, night. If you need anything. Just tell Jarvis." Alex nodded once and Tony disappeared into the dark hallway again. Alex walked by Loki and sat on the couch. He slowly stepped closer, careful that his magic concealed any noise. Alex looked lost, saddened. He could see the remains of tears on her cheeks. She was mumbling words as she scribbled in a notebook. "Stars and moon collide…take your words and all your lies…" Loki made out some of the words, the others were covered by her hand.

With a clink she dropped the pen and book on the coffee table and leaned back on the couch, stretching out with her head resting on the arm. She was clearly frustrated as she glared at the ceiling. "You were hoping for some inspiration?" Loki couldn't help himself as the words slipped out. Alex froze at the voice, but didn't move more than her arm, which now covered her eyes. "There's plenty of inspiration with you around, it seems. People love break up songs. Should be easy. What rhymes with lying as-" A chuckle interrupted her and her anger warred with her happiness that he really had returned. "My apologies." Loki said, seeming sincere. Alex glanced to her right, moving her arm away, to where the voice seemed to be coming from. "The voice in my head doesn't sound sorry."

Loki appeared, standing behind the couch. "I am very sorry. I assure you." Alex rolled her eyes and slid her arm to lay across her stomach. "And here I thought I had finally gone insane." Loki sighed, Alex's sarcasm was grating on his last nerve and he began to wonder why he had wanted her company. Alex wanted him to feel the hurt she had felt these past two years. "You are sane, I believe." Loki replied. "Really? I was so sure I was going crazy, looking for your ass all over the world." Se growled out, glaring at the shadows that seemed a bit darker than the rest. "I did not believe you would search for me when I left." Alex huffed and closed her eyes. A headache was starting. Loki allowed his magic to fade, revealing him in his asgardian armour, minus the helmet. But Alex had not opened her eyes and instead, reached blindly for her drink.

Loki quickly stepped between her and the drink, catching her left wrist softly in his hand. He only realised his mistake when her hand twisted to grip his arm and her leg came up to hit the back of his own, causing him to fall. He landed heavily on his knees as Alex moved to sit on the couch, still gripping his arm. "First of all, Ow. The hell are you made of?" A bruise was already beginning to form on her right shin. "A denser bone and muscular structure than you." Loki replied automatically, dazed that she had brought him to his knees so easily. She did not seem that strong, but then again she was always running and Tony had mentioned something called boxing.

Her eyes narrowed at the response. "I'll pretend that's not insulting since you are on your knees. Second of all, why did you pretend to be Logan and then disappear?" Loki swallowed hard. He wasn't one for expressing his feelings, especially his uncertainty and fears. "I..." He looked down at her hand on his arm. She was holding onto him like he might vanish again if she let go. "I thought you may hate me." The words were muttered and Alex immediately released him. "I can't hate you. I tried, but I love you too damn much." Alex wrapped her arms around his neck, letting her body crash into his in an awkward hug. Loki hesitantly brought his arms around her after a moment.

Neither noticed the rooms lights turn on at that moment. Alex leaned back to look into his emerald eyes with. "I love you. I searched the whole world for you because I love you and I promise I will never leave you." Loki nodded. "I love you too." he replied and a smile graced her lips. He pulled her into a passionate kiss, silently showing her how much he had longed for her.

"Eww, get a room." They both turned to see Tony Stark standing there grinning and a very badly blushing Thor. "Brother, I am so glad you found the courage to share your feelings towards Lady Alexandra." He spoke as he walked towards over and crushed them both in a hug. Alex and Loki were blushing, now realizing the position they were in; with Loki kneeling and Alex straddling his lap and now Thor hugging them both. "Air." "Need to breathe, brother." They protested until Thor released them, tears of joy in his eyes. "Is your whole family this crazy?" Alex questioned and Tony flinched, while he continued to portion out the red wine. "No, that's just Thor." Loki replied, helping her to untangle themselves and stand.

"Toast time." Tony interrupted, handing out the alcohol. When they all had a glass, Tony spoke. "To friends..." He stopped, unsure how to continue since Loki was never technically his friend, more like an enemy. Thor chuckled and Loki filled in. "To love." "To happily ever after." Alex finished and they all drank. "It is about time for us to leave, brother." Thor said, lifting Moljnir from his belt. "What?" Alex asked Loki, not wanting to loose him yet again. "Yes, I believe it is time." Loki replied before taking both of Alex's hands in his own. She had a saddened look and he paused to wipe away a stray tear. "Alexandra, would you do me the honour of returning to Asgard with me?" The shock turned to happiness as she hugged him. "Yes! Yes, I'll go with you."

It only took a few minutes for Alex to collect her things, since she was already still packed from her last trip. Tony drove them to the park and saw them off with promises of parties and Schwarma when they returned for a visit and to pay for Alex's apartment so she had somewhere to return to. Which could be 'anytime at all' according to him. Alex waved, one arm around Loki's waist and he had one around her's. She looked up as it seemed that the northern lights were coming down from the sky to surround them.
