Disclaimer: I don't own Ninjago

The Society of Ghost's castle was nearly complete. The outside of it looked old and outdated, but the inside was completely remolded. It almost looked like the inside of Borg Towers. The Shadows were getting used to the new devices, but it seemed that the members were getting along nice with the modern technology. Cyrus Borg also updated the Shadows weapons and uniforms against his will of course. Right now, Borg was hard at work with a new task set forth by Oroku, who was healing in record time.

"How goes it Borg?" Oroku asked with his voice no longer coarse.

Cyrus sighed.

"I should be done with it soon…your majesty." Cyrus said.

Cyrus drilled a screw into a piece of leg armor. Cyrus looked up and looked in horror of the machine he was creating. Before Cyrus was a mechanical samurai suit for King Oroku. It used to be his old armor he'd wear into battle before Cyrus got an old of it. The black under suit was still present but over it now was metallic silver titanium armor.

"What will this be used for?" Cyrus asked.

"You speak only when spoken to!" Xiao said.

"It is alright, Xiao." Oroku held his hand up. "I plan to use this suit to defeat my enemies, starting with those ninjas."

Cyrus stood up and faced the king, a look of horror on his face. Xiao prepared to defend his king and princess.

"You care for them?" Oroku chuckled.

"They are my friends and the sound kunoichi she's…the closest thing I have to a daughter." Cyrus said.

Oroku laughed and Cyrus clenched his fist, something Xiao noticed.

"Get back to work." Xiao said.

"No." Cyrus said.

"No?" Oroku asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I will not allow you to harm anyone anymore with my technology." Cyrus said.

"And you plan to stop me how?" Oroku smirked.

Cyrus grabbed a nail gun and pointed it at his head.

"Damage the brain and the Shadow can't heal himself." Cyrus said.

He would've pulled the trigger if another Shadow hadn't cut of his arm. Cyrus grabbed his bleeding wound and fell to his knees.

"You think I only had one Shadow in here? You think I hadn't plan for your very betrayal?" Oroku laughed.

Cyrus grabbed his arm from off the floor and connected it back to his bleeding stump. It healed in mere seconds.

"Please don't kill her." Cyrus begged.

"You are in no position to negotiate." Oroku said.

"You won't kill me, and you won't kill Pixal or the ninja because then you won't get what you want from me." Cyrus said.

Alayne looked at her father, he hadn't been threatened like this in so long.

"I don't have to kill her." Oroku said.

The Shadow from behind Cyrus began to slowly shove a knife in Cyrus' head. He screamed in pain.

"I can torture her, bring her right up the edge of death itself, and then…do it all again the next day!" Oroku threatened.

The Shadow removed its knife and Cyrus grabbed the back of his bleeding head before it healed.

"Finish my weapon." Oroku said.

Cyrus nodded and went back to work in silence for the rest of the day.

Sensei Wu, Nya, Pixal, and Ivy were all sitting down in a forest. Wu finished drinking a cup and tea and smiled at his female students.

"Would anyone like some?" Wu asked.

"No thank you, Sensei." Ivy chuckled.

"Sensei Wu, no disrespect to your teachings or anything, but we've been in the forest now for half an hour. Are we gonna train soon or what?" Nya asked.

"How can we train if we're in the forest. It would only benefit Ivy." Pixal said.

"Pixal's right, Sensei. Am I to save them like how the boys saved us?" Ivy asked.

"Not at all, Ivy. We will unlock all of your powers through meditation, just like the boys did. I only put them in dangerous situations for punishment for all the pranks they've pulled on me in the past." Sensei said.

The girls looked at him in shock.

"Sensei…" Ivy started.

"That's pretty harsh…" Nya said.

"Perhaps they could've just done more chores?" Pixal suggested.

"Perhaps, but this way is more fun." Sensei smiled.

The girls couldn't help but smile at their old teacher.

"Now let us begin." Wu said. "You've wondered why I've brought you to a forest, yes? We'll because this will benefit Ivy obviously, however, your elements, Nya and Pixal are here too. Listen to all the sounds in the forests, the birds, and water stream, the leaves moving in the trees. And feel the wind in the air, feel the slight breeze cover your body."

The girls listened to their teacher. They looked at the beauty of the forest.

"Now close your eyes and we shall begin." Sensei said as his eyes closed.

The three students followed their sensei's example and sat cross legged on the forest floor. They then closed their eyes and began to meditate. All four were silent with each other. The kunoichi all opened their eyes and Sensei Wu had vanished. He had been replaced with Hamato.

"Hello, Kunoichi." Hamato smiled as he stood up.

"Mr. Hamato, hello." Ivy smiled.

"It is so good to see you again." Pixal said.

"Agreed, Hamato." Nya said.

"It's lovely to see you three again as well. Now tell me, do any of you know the story of the Kunoichi?" Hamato asked.

The girls looked at each other before answering.

"No, I don't think we do, Hamato." Nya answered.

"I always thought they had the same story as a ninja did." Ivy said.

"No, my dears. Their story is far greater." Hamato said.

The girls smiled and followed Hamato into the forest.

At the Floating Ruins, the Ninja sat around waiting for Jay to regain his powers. They stood on top the highest platform where the lightning was most dangerous. A bolt came down every thirty seconds and startled the ninja.

"Anytime now, Jay." Kai said.

Jay was already in deep mediation, a smile on his face anticipating the return of his lightning powers. Another bolt struck the side of the platform and pieces fell off from it.

"OK, that one was really close!" Kai yelled.

"Relax, hothead, it's gonna take some time." Cole said.

"A ninja must always remain patient." Zane said.

"Zane, how can you be calm? You're made of metal!" Kai said.

"I am calm, because I have faith in jay rediscovering his powers again." Zane said. "Do you not?"

"Of course, I do." Kai sighed.

Another lightning bolt struck the platform and destroyed a much larger piece. The platform was getting smaller with each strike.

"That being said, it wouldn't hurt if he sped the process along." Zane said causing Cole and Kai to chuckle.

Jay opened his eyes and found himself at his parents' junk yard. Jay sighed and walked inside the gates.

"Something wrong, Lightning Master?" Hamato asked.

"Did the others have to go through this to et their powers?" Jay asked.

"Cole learned about his mother, Kai and Zane learned more about their fathers, and the girls are currently learning the story of Kunoichi." Hamato explained.

"Yeah, but my parents…" Jay started.

"Are still alive?" Hamato interrupted.

Jay stopped talking, for once, and was shocked about this sudden realization.

"Have I silenced Jay?" Hamato smirked.

"I'm ready for any lesson you want to teach me, Hamato." Jay bowed.

"Good lad." Hamato said. "Now follow me."

"That's right girls, this way." Hamato said as he continued to lead the Kunoichi through the forests.

The kunoichi followed Hamato to the top of a hill outside the forest. He looked back at the girls and smiled.

"Behold." He said as he pointed downwards.

The girls looked down and witnessed something amazing. On the ground below, they saw an entire army of Kunoichi warriors, all prepared for combat.

"What is this?" Nya asked.

"These…are your sisters." Hamato said. "It is time I give you a section of a story. The other pieces will come later."

The kunoichi gathered around him.

"Long ago, the First Spinjitzu Master created life in Ninjago. He called his creation man. Years later, the Elemental Masters were gifted their powers from the Ninja of Light. After the Shadow Wars, there was peace. Children of the elements were born, and all was well." Hamato began.

The image behind Hamato changed to whatever he was saying. The kunoichi went from looking at that to Hamato.

"However, a being, thought to have been a friend, was envious of man. He plagued their hearts with war, blood thirst and violence." Hamato said.

They then saw a shadowy figure behind Hamato.

"War broke out between mankind and Ninjago was paying the price. While the First Spinjitzu Master thought it would be unwise to intervene, the Masters of Water, Sound, Wind, Nature, Form, Mind, Poison, and Speed decided to act." Hamato continued.

"The female masters." Ivy said.

"Correct." Hamato said.

Pixal and Nya looked at her.

"We didn't have the internet back home, I had to read." Ivy said.

"The eight of them created a new race of humans, who they called Kunoichi." Hamato said. "Women would truly inherit the Earth."

Nya held up her fists, and Pixal and Ivy bumped them.

"The Kunoichi were supposed to influence love and Kindness back into man's heart. They taught them, for a moment, but man tried to enslave this new creation from their gods. The Kunoichi fought back and the female Masters, disgusted with man, created an island for their creation to go to. The Kunoichi left to an island I know not where, leaving man behind." Hamato concluded his story.

The girls then saw an island on the ocean that disappeared from view.

"How is it we're called Kunoichi?" Pixal asked.

"Female ninjas. You may not have been born from the gods, but they still accept you as one. Hell, even the Kunoichi might accept you." Hamato said.

"Who was the figure that plagued man's heart?" Nya asked.

Hamato hesitated to answer. Timelines in his head started to show depending on how he chose to answer.

"Hamato?" Pixal asked. "Who was it?"

"Was it the Overlord?" Ivy asked.

"It was…Lord Seppuku." Hamato answered.

Back at the Society's castle, King Oroku yelled.

"Father?" Alayne asked worried.

Three shadows ran into his room.

"Find the ninja! They know." Oroku said.

The Shadows bowed and ran out.

The girls could see that Hamato was uneasy at the mention of his name. He turned pale and began to tremble some.

"Apologies, Hamato, we shouldn't have pried." Ivy said.

"It's fine. We thought he was our ally, but we were mistaken." Hamato said.

"What happened to him?" Nya asked.

"He was banished to the Cursed Realm. May we please stop talking about him." Hamato said.

"Of course." Pixal said.

"Thank you. Apologies, Kunoichi, let us get back to your training." Hamato said.

Jay saw the toddler version of himself running around the junkyard with his parents chasing after them. Jay couldn't help but smile.

"So much love, just like the others." Hamato said.

"Yeah. They really do love me." Jay said.

"It's amazing what adopting a child does to you." Hamato said.

"WHAT!?" Jay yelled.

"Ha! Got you! You really fell for it, look at your face!" Hamato laughed.

Jay looked like he was about to throw up.

"Oh, lighten up, boy." Hamato said. "Now come and witness your grandmother."

"I never knew my Grandma." Jay said.

"She died before you were born. Did you know that she was the Lightning Master that assisted Wu and Garmadon during the Serpentine Wars?" Hamato asked.

"I actually did not." Jay said.

"She was just like you, Jay." Hamato said.

"A genius? A Master fighter? Skilled with the nunchucks? Smooth with romance." Jay asked repeatedly.

"No, she never stopped talking." Hamato said.

"Uh…that's a joke, right?" Jay asked nervously.

"…Of course." Hamato hesitated.

Jay smiled and watched as his grandmother fight off serpentine. She and Wu were back to back and smiled at each other. Working together, the two of them fought off a small serpentine group. Jay cheered as he watched his grandma use spinjitzu and her lightning powers.

"One of the most powerful elements, lightning is. Wild, uncontrollable, dangerous. But if it's user knows how to properly use it, then the master becomes dangerous." Hamato said.

"Whoa." Jay said as he began to vanish.

"Wait, we're not done yet." Hamato said.

"Huh? Guess I've already found my inner peace. Thanks, Hamato." Jay thanked.

"But…" Hamato started.

Jay vanished from Hamato before he could finish his sentence. Hamato was standing in the junkyard alone.

"So that's what that feels like." Hamato said.

Jay woke up and saw his friends all standing on small platform together. They were holding on to each other, fearful of them falling off. Jay smiled. A bolt of lightning came crashing down on top of the Ninja. Jay jumped up and held out his hand. The lightning changed course and traveled to Jay's hand where he absorbed it, saving his brothers. His arms were covered with lightning afterwards. He shot his arms up and the lightning went back to the sky. Jay called another bolt down and this time it covered his body completely.

When it vanished, Jay was in his new uniform. It was completely blue except for his black gloves, brown belt and kneecaps. Also, colored brown was a breast plate that hung down from his right shoulder. On the plate was the lightning symbol and two straps wrapped around his body. He was given two kunai that were tucked inside the straps. The ninja looked at him.

"Shocked to see me?" Jay asked.

"Hey, you were right, Zane." Kai said.

"And I now owe you ten bucks." Cole said, angry.

"Man, it feels good to have our powers back. Let's see those Shadows try to fight us now." Jay said.

"Yeah, Jay, that's great, but call in the Destiny's Shadow before we fall!" Cole said.

"Nag, nag, nag." Jay said as he pushed a button.

The Destiny's Shadow flew up to them. It was a small flying craft that function the same way as the Bounty. It was just much smaller and quicker. The Ninja piled on and took off to the forest.

"Does anyone else think this thing looks like a fish?" Jay asked.

"Not this again." Kai sighed.

The Kunoichi watched as the female masters were being scolded by the First Spinjitzu Master for creating the Kunoichi. The masters stood there, clearly not fazed by the First Spinjitzu Master's words. They showed no sign of anger or guilt. The Master stopped yelling and decided to let it be since the deed was done.

"They scare me more than the Fire Master does." Hamato said which made the girls chuckle.

"Hamato, will we ever see the Kunoichi that are on the island?" Pixal asked.

"Anything is possible, but their island is hidden. It would take a miracle to find it. I doubt they'd come here." Hamato said.

"Perhaps it's wise to leave them be." Nya said.

"If man tried to enslave me, I wouldn't come back either." Ivy said.

"Just like a true Kunoichi. Don't tell the boys this, but without you three, they'd be lost. They may have saved Ninjago, but soon it will be you who saves them. And they will all be grateful for it." Hamato said.

"We're still one Kunoichi short." Nya said.

"Ah yes, the water master. You all will like her very much, as well as one of the ninja." Hamato smirked.

The girls smiled then but realized what he said.

"You better be talking about Cole." Ivy said.

"My, Ivy, do we have a crush on someone? Perhaps someone who wears red?" Nya teased.

Ivy blushed.

"No, I just don't want Jay or Zane to because then it'd get ugly." Ivy said.

"Or Kai." Pixal whispered.

"You know what?" Ivy laughed.

The girls laughed at each other and teased one another. Finding inner peace and developing their relationship with other another even more, the girls vanished leaving behind a smiling Hamato.

"Sisters."

The girls opened their eyes and looked down as grass uncovered them. Each were wearing a new uniform. Nya wore the exact same ninja gi as Jay, but the color was now dark silver gray. Pixal still wore purple, but her new gi was like Zane's. Ivy now wore yellow, replacing orange, and her suit was like Kai's now. The symbol for Wind, Sound, and Nature was present on their patches, respectively. They were admiring their new uniforms.

"Silver? I like it." Nya said.

"Yellow, not a bad color on me." Ivy said as she twirled.

"You both look great with the new colors." Pixal complimented.

"Thank you, Pix, purple really is your color though." Ivy said.

"Yeah, I really like it." Nya added.

"Come, my students, let us return home." Wu said.

Everyone met back on the Bounty minutes later. The boys were surprised to see the girls' new uniforms. Even more surprised that they looked like theirs but distinct and new colors.

"Ivy?" Kai asked.

"Kai." Ivy greeted.

"Nya?" Jay asked.

"Jay." Nya greeted.

"Pixal, hello." Zane greeted.

"Zane, hello." Pixal greeted.

"Wu." Cole said.

"Cole." Wu said.

Everyone looked at the both of them.

"You all were doing it." Cole said.

Hamato then appeared on the Bounty. His face was in distress.

"Hamato?" Wu asked.

"It's Garmadon. He's in the hospital." Hamato said, finally revealing to them what happened.
