Chapter 29

The rest of Quinn and Puck's honeymoon was pretty low key. Puck made sure to not bring up that night again and Quinn tried to keep herself from letting what happened happen again. But it still did. They only had two days left and they spent them on the beach swimming and getting some sun. By the last day, they were ready to go home. After the long flight, they both went home and got some sleep and the next morning, Puck and Rachel's plan was on. He drove to Quinn and Rachel's house and walked inside. Rachel had left the door unlocked. "Hey," Quinn smiled a little when she saw him. She ran over to him and kissed him quickly on the lips before Rachel showed up behind her.

"Quinn, can you sit down?" Rachel asked, glancing at the couch. She spent the last two days of Quinn and Puck's honeymoon crying about Finn but she decided it would be best to wait until Rachel and Puck had dealt with Quinn's problems before even mentioning her and Finn's.

Quinn nodded and sat down on the couch. Puck sat across from her and Rachel sat down next to her. "What's going on?" Quinn asked, confused.

Rachel glanced at Puck and then at Quinn. "It's time for you to tell the truth. You guys are married now. I get that telling him about Alison and Nick was a big deal and I totally support you in that, but that's only half the story. You have to tell him about everything that you've told me."

Quinn hadn't even started talking yet and she was already crying. "Why are you making me do this? I was dealing with everything fine until you both started to act so crazy."

Rachel looked at Puck who had an apprehensive expression while he stared at Quinn. "You just got married, Quinn. He's your husband. If I ever got married, I would want my husband to know everything so he could help me through it. Do you want me to start for you?" Quinn just nodded. "Okay. It all goes back to when Quinn was in high school. Alison talked her into the self-induced vomiting method of losing weight and she only listened because she knew Nick was attracted to skinny blonde girls like Alison. But it didn't stop when Nick left that dance with Alison. She truly thought she could win him back if she lost some weight. She became more and more desperate as time went on and by senior year, it was becoming really dangerous to her health. If Alison hadn't told Quinn's mom, she might not have stopped herself from doing it again. But it didn't stop there, it just got better."

"I thought you said your parents didn't help you through it," Puck said, looking at Quinn.

Quinn was still crying a little so she just nodded and let Rachel answer for her.

"They didn't. They told her that having a daughter as insecure as her looked bad on them so she needed to fix her problem before anybody found out." Rachel explained. "She got better at hiding it and in time, she started eating more and puking less. And after graduation, she had taken care of it."

"But…then I had an audition for my first Broadway play. It was to play Roxie Hart in Chicago," Quinn said quietly, looking down while she wiped away her tears. "I love that play." Rachel nodded, looking at Quinn while she spoke. "The audition song was All That Jazz. I had grown up singing that song and I completely choked at the audition. I forgot all of the words and I couldn't remember any of the dance. I ran out crying because I knew it was over. When you have an audition like that in front of a director like that, you rarely ever get a chance to try again. That's when it started again, I guess."

Rachel frowned. "But I thought it was only one time after the audition?"

"It was. But then I started to do it after every bad audition. Then when I got the part in Wicked and I met you, I knew that I didn't stand a chance in that play if I had you as my Elphaba so every time I got nervous I did it again." Quinn said, looking down at the floor because she was so embarrassed.

"Q, you just skipped like half of the story. You know, the part that's actually important." Rachel told Quinn who started crying even more. "The part about the hospital."

"This was when I was still living by myself, before I met you," Quinn whispered to Puck. "I hadn't been eating but I was still puking. I went for a week or so of just doing that. Then one day Rachel was coming over for a movie night and I…" she trailed off, looking at Rachel for help.

Rachel looked at Puck nervously. This was the part Quinn was afraid to tell him. "The door was unlocked so I just walked in when Quinn wasn't answering the door. I found her passed out in her room. Obviously I called 911 and they brought an ambulance and everything. They put fluids and stuff in her…it was terrifying. I thought she was gonna die. When the doctor told me she had all of the symptoms of bulimia but some of anorexia as well, I freaked out. She could have died if I hadn't been there."

Puck looked at Quinn in shock and moved to the same couch as Rachel and Quinn, wrapping his arm around her. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I was scared, I thought you'd be mad. When I found out I was pregnant, the doctor told me it was a miracle. Lots of women who have an eating disorder as serious as mine was can never have children. It's almost impossible for them to give birth to a baby as perfect as her. That's why I didn't want to tell you, I didn't want you to hate me for not telling you before. I just didn't want you to judge me." Quinn explained, trying to stop crying.

"I could never hate you, Quinn. If you would have told me sooner, I could have helped you through it." He sighed, looking at Rachel and then back at Quinn. "I'm not mad at you. I'm glad you told me now so we can deal with it together. How are we going to take care of this?"

Quinn looked down while she wiped away a few tears. "I don't know."

"How about we call your doctor?" Rachel suggested, handing Quinn her phone. Quinn agreed to meet with her doctor the next day so she could get a real treatment plan rather than how she handled it the first time. That night, Puck stayed the night at Rachel and Quinn's house.

"Hey, Quinn?" Puck asked her while they were lying in bed. "You're beautiful, you know. I've seen pictures of you from high school and you've always been beautiful. And Alison was crazy to tell you anything different."

She listened carefully and then smiled when he was done. "Thank you."

When Quinn woke up, she walked into Beth's room and took her out of her crib, smiling while she rocked her in her arms. "We're gonna get a bigger house soon, Beth. And we're gonna make sure you have a really big room and a big play area and a big backyard. And we're gonna get a puppy; Daddy promised."

Puck stood in the doorway watching while Quinn talked to Beth. "This is what a family looks like, Quinn." He smiled and walked over to them, kissing Quinn on the cheek.

"It's amazing," Quinn whispered.
