Sorry about the long wait. My chromebook didn't come with word on it and I haven't completely figured it out yet. To the reviews!
minecraftlover42: thank you. I plan to keep writing, considering that it's the only thing that keeps me from losing my sanity. XD *throws chocolate at you*
To the story!
(Skybrine's P.O.V)
"Come on guys, we can make it!" I yell running into an very tall and slightly intimidating arena, which was oddly and eerily quiet. Crimson splatters decorated the walls and ground, the scent of blood wafting up in the air, this wasn't good…
I slow down my pace along with WitherMU and Enderlox behind me.
"Skybrine what's the hold up, I thought we were supposed to be running." Enderlox says panting and crossing his arms.
"He's right Skybrine, what's with you?" WitherMU agrees.
I turn around to face him and say "Do you smell that?"
Enderlox sniffs the air along with WitherMU, their eyes widening at the smell of blood.
I walk carefully through the entrance into the arena and see what I, yes I the Skybrine, had feared the most. Allison was in the middle of the arena, neck snapped and blood every where. Even the trees! She laid as if she had fallen asleep while drawing. If only she was really sleeping…
I drop to my knees, covering my mouth, tears running down my cheeks.
"We're too late." Enderlox muttered.
"The poor girl…" WitherMU comments, not knowing what else to say.
I sniff and stand up. "Come on, lets see what her last memories were."
I walk over to her lifeless body and pick her up.
"Can we clean her first? The smell of blood is making me dizzy." Enderlox says plugging up his nose, making his eyes go cross eyed too add to his comment, earning a punch on the shoulder from WitherMU.
"What? It's true, I think I might faint from the god awful smell." Enderlox says rubbing his shoulder in slight pain.
"He's right, we should clean her up first." I say walking to a portal I opened.
We walk into the caves and spend 5 fucking hours cleaning her, but honestly, it was worth it. Once we were done it looked like she was just in a deep sleep like Snow White or something….What? Allison told me stories of her old world. (Shit I broke the fourth wall…)
"Okay, you guys ready?" Ask glancing at my two friends.
They nod and get me a chair, I sit down and place my right hand on her head and the other one her heart, well where it should have been…
I get a wave of memories, as they get in order. Here we go…
Allison's POV
A few hours earlier
"What the hell man?!" I yelled while dodging a close shave from a sword I summoned an energy ball and grinned as it hit it's target. "NO REGRETS!"
"Allison I don't really want to do this!" Sky or Adam yelled. I don't care that this guy used to be my idol, this is what they asked for and this is what they're going to get.
We fought with our swords and I shot at him with my energy blasts every now and then only to have him reflect them. I tried to use every advantage I had but nothing seems to take this guy down in one blow.
I caught a look at my besties to see them fighting their own person. I knew that Brittany once had a crush on Jason but to see her fight against him with such fury almost brought a tear of pride to my eye. Although it was obvious that she wasn't trying her best. Maddy on the other hand was trying her hardest to kill Ty, slashing and throwing her ender beams at him until she practically had him against the wall. I grinned, enjoying my new found insanity. "You got this Maddy!"
However, in my congratulations for my friend and her determination to kill her other, Adam had managed to slice me on my arm. It wasn't as bad as it could have been if I ignored him completely but it was enough for my blood to immediately start pouring out. "Damnit!"
"Allison, this needs to stop!" Adam yelled. He seemed the less willing out of all of us to spill blood, but again, this is what they wanted.
I growled at my enemy and held onto my bleeding arm. "I won't give in, Sky!" My voice dripping in venom.
I forgot my arm and continued fighting and occasionally glancing at my friends to see how they were doing. The fight didn't stop but Maddy started hitting Ty with less fury and seemed less in the game. "Maddy, what are you doing?!" I called out.
Not the best decision I ever made in my life time, Adam had cut me a few more times. Blood rapidly poured out of my limbs as I had to keep moving as to avoid getting stabbed. 'Got to keep fighting my own battles, Maddy is on her own for the time being.' "Come at me bro!"
I had sliced Adam in his arms to make us even for the damage he done to me. Suddenly I was tackled to the ground. I punched the object and threw the humanoid form of matter off of me. "M-maddy?"
She growled at me before she launched herself at me again, barely giving me enough time to dodge her attack."What are you doing?!"
I didn't get a reply from my friend. She only maniacally laughed as she swung her sword at me tearing up my skin even more. "You smell that?" She muttered.
"What the hell are you talking about?! Fight Ty, not me!" I blocked one of her ender beams with an energy blast.
With one fluid motion she knocked the sword out of my hand and tackled me once again and unleashed her dragon claws. When did she evolved into having those, I have no clue. I tried to push her off of me but she was too strong and overpowered me before I could even catch my sword before it hit the ground.
In fact Maddy was the one who caught my sword and with no explanation whatsoever she plunged the sword into my flesh, while laughing like a mad man...like this was all a game. I gasped, and everyone in the stadium seemed to pause and stare at the two of us. My blood pooled around me and Maddy continued stabbing my form, sending me into shock, unable to stop her from doing this act.
"Allison!" Brittany yelled in fear and the sound of footsteps neared my figure. "Oh my god! Maddy stop this!"
By the time Brittany was within stopping distance, Maddy turned to her. "You always wanted to fly...now fly!"
As if powered by the force, Maddy flung Brittany to the farthest wall. The boys were too shocked to stop any of this from happening and simply watched with horror. When Brittany hit the wall, a bone crunching sound was heard and with my weak amount of energy I was able to cringe. She managed to loosen some of the broken down pieces of the wall which caused more pieces to fall off afterwards. When she hit the ground all of the rubble that had been loosened fell on top of her, covering her form completely.
I looked back at Maddy who pulled her hand from my body giggled like a school girl. Within five seconds my vision went black. In her hand...was my heart.
*End of flashback*
"Oh my god…" I sucked in a breath of air as Allison last moments continuously replied in my mind.
"We need to go back." WitherMU stood up.
"Are you insane?!" Enderlox yelled. "If Maddy still there...and still in her blood lust mode then we could be next."
"What if Brittany's not dead?" WitherMU countered.
I sighed. "We're going back and Enderlox, I know you hate blood but WitherMU's right."
Enderlox crossed his arms. "The effect shouldn't have stayed long anyway but let's just look for the girls body and get out."
I nodded. "Finally something we agree on."
(Enderlox's P.O.V)
It was still torture to be in that arena. Skybrine walked through pools of blood, scattering the crimson droplets everywhere. WitherMU practically ran over to the rubble pile, his stride determined and purposeful.
I gulped, covering my nose with my hand, trying to keep the invasive smell out. Why didn't I tell her this would happen? Why didn't I tell her how easy it is to lose control?
I grabbed the nearest stone and picked it up, throwing it behind me somewhere. WitherMU went quicker, shoving stones out of the way and pushing them away. I saw a streak of purple through the grey and pointed to it. WitherMU began digging toward it and dragged Brittany's body out when enough stones were removed. He put a hand on her neck and looked relieved. "She's alive."
Good. We don't need more deaths today. I turned and walked across the arena until I got to the trees. Suddenly I stopped. What was that? It sounds like... crying?
I walked through the trees, waiting as the sound grew louder. I stopped, seeing a figure curled into a ball in the corner. Shadows concealed the figure's features, forcing me to step closer. "Maddy?"
The sobbing stopped and the figure looked up. "Enderlox?"
I took another step closer. "Are you ok?"
She laughed bitterly. "Ok? Not even close. You should probably go."
"I'm not going to just leave you here." I argued, sitting next to her
She sighed. "You don't understand. I- I..."
I rolled my eyes. "I do actually. I'm sorry I didn't tell you what would happen if you smelled blood. I thought we'd get to you before something like this happened."
She rubbed her face with her hand. "Not your fault."
I flinched. But it is. This is all my fault.
Time skip
Skybrine eventually stopped giving Maddy death glares. He stormed away, saying that he was going to bury Allison.
Maddy sighed and looked at me. "I didn't mean to kill them."
I hugged her. "I know."
WitherMU gestured for us to come in and we both walked into the room he'd been keeping Brittany in. I resisted the urge to ask if she was going to be ok.
Maddy stared at the wall, her eyes glazed and unfocused. I touched her shoulder and she flinched, stepping away.
WitherMU looked up. "Brittany's not dead."
Maddy's eyes lit up. "Really?"
He nodded. "She's in a coma. The thing is..." he trailed off
Her face fell. "What? What is it?"
"S- she probably won't wake up." WitherMU said finally
"Dude, shut up. You're not making this any easier." I snapped
He glared at me. "I'm sorry I'm trying to be honest. Unlike you!"
An uncomfortable silence stretched out, leaving the three of us feeling awkward. Maddy looked between the two of us, confusion written all over her face.
"Enderlox, what is he talking about?" she asked finally
"Oh you mean he still hasn't told you?" WitherMU said sarcastically
"Told me what?"
"He knew you were going to kill Allison."
Her eyes widened and she was silent. She looked at the floor, as if it would give her the answers, then looked up and walked out of the room.
I glared at him and walked out after her. "Maddy, can I explain?"
"Explain what?" she hissed, turning to me "The fact that you knew I was going to kill someone!? The fact that you knew and didn't tell me!? Because I'd love to hear your reason for not telling me."
I took a step back. "I- I..."
She looked appalled. "You don't know? You don't know why you didn't tell me that I was going to kill someone? Someone I cared about!"
I stared at the floor, shame, embarrassment and guilt bubbling up and forming a lump in my throat. One that made it impossible to answer her. Then she said the three words I'd hoped I'd never hear come from her.
"I hate you."
I looked up, ready to apologize and beg for forgiveness, but she was already running down the hallway. I got the message. It was obvious she didn't want to talk. I sat on the floor and buried my head in my hands. This isn't how I wanted her to find out.
I didn't want her to find out at all.
A few hours later, I went to her room and knocked on the door. "Can we talk?" I asked quietly
No answer.
She's ignoring you because she's angry.
I knocked again.
Still no answer. I tried the door.
Unlocked.
Getting concerned, I stepped in and looked around.
It was empty.
Except for a note on the bed. The pieces started falling into place and
I gasped. Grabbing the note, I read it, desperate for some kind of explanation.
I'm leaving. Don't come looking for me. You won't find me, so don't try to.
I blinked rapidly. She didn't.
But everything said she had. She's left. How long ago? How had she not been seen? I ran through the caves, half convinced that Maddy was just playing a prank.
Training room.
Nothing.
Game room.
Nothing.
She was gone.
