Chapter 29: Reading chapter 19

Sage's reading room

Blake had been awakened by the heavenly smell of fish cooking. She got dressed and stealthily tracked the smell. It was a dream come true! Jaune was cooking the greatest breakfast ever. FISH! Jaune was singing what sounded like a sea shanty.

*Work Song - Paul Shapera*

He paused for a moment to greet her "Good morning Blake!" Then he continued singing. Blake sat down and waited listening. She wondered where he learned that type of song. Pyrrha dragged herself into the room. "Morning Blake. What's cooking?" She said not fully awake yet. Blake smiled and replied "Jaune is cooking" She held back her laugh when Pyrrha tripped in surprise.

*end work song *

The crash brought everyone running. They saw Pyrrha being helped up by Juane who to his girlfriends looked nice with a tan. Ruby, Yang and Pyrrha hug him. "Girls I know you miss me but I need to finish plating the meal." They sheepishly make their way to the table and Jaune sets down plates at a brisk yet careful speed.

The dish was simple but the taste was wonderfully complex. As they ate he was telling tales of his time at sea. Of monsters and wonders, of peaceful islands and islands that were far from peaceful. They laughed when he told them when he was launched like a cannonball at an enemy ship and they worried when he told them of the monster that appeared when he neared circling seagulls.

An hour later.

They were in the reading room waiting for Sage to finish cleaning up the dishs. Blake was looking at that Jaune intensely. "You will be my personal fish chef from now on." She ordered. Before Jaune could say anything Pyrrha butted in "Twice a week at most." Blake countered with "four times a week." Pyrrha said "three times a week." Blake thinks about it. "Deal." And the shake on it. Jaune sighed knowing that he had no say in it.

Pyrrha nodded at Yang and they grabbed Jaune and wrapped him in the heaviest chains they could find and a lot of locks. Jaune looked annoyed from where he was sitting. "is this really needed?" He asks. "it for your own good." they say at the same time.

Weiss sarcastically says "I'm pretty sure we'll see Ruby, Jaune, Yang, and Pyrrha's faces on missing posters after this" Blake looked Jaune and his girlfriends who were trying to explain why it was for his own good. She adds "they'd be found quicker if they put the posters in clubs"

Sage walks in and sees Jaune's pediment. "Kinky" Jaune and his girlfriends blush and yell "It's not like that!" At the same time. Sage just shrugs. "I'll read If that's ok."

Chapter 19: Final Divine Beast Trial, Storming Hyrule Castle

The next morning, Jaune awoke in his home in Hateno Village. "Delivery for Mr. Arc." A postman said at his door, and Jaune opened it and signed off for a chest the postman dropped.

"The general store got these by mistake, and have no use for them." The postman said, "So they heard you were a traveler, and decided to give them to you." The postman said, as Jaune opened up the chest and saw five ice arrows.

"I'll thank them!" Jaune said, shaking hands with the postman who then took off to finish his deliveries. After he left, Jaune gave the ice arrows to Ren for Stormflower. With a deep breath, they all teleported to the Shrine of Resurrection.

Jaune took a deep breath and inserted his Sheikah Scroll into the slot it came from.

The readers were holding their breath in anticipation. This was a moment they were waiting for.

"To the brave soul who wishes to master a Divine Beast, you have done well to return to this place of beginnings." Maz's voice said. Nora glared at the One-Hit Obliterator sitting peacefully on the pedestal; it's purpose fulfilled as it slept peacefully. The door shut, and everyone tensed as the room shook like a gigantic elevator. The scroll popped out so Jaune held it as the door opened revealing a room that looked like the interior of a Divine Beast. Pyrrha tried stepping through, but was blocked by a force field, as Jaune slid through the barricade as if it was water.

Pyrrha was worried. he'd have to complete this challenge alone.

"This trial is a complex labyrinth. To start, you will need a map." Maz's voice echoed through the air. Everyone else could only watch as Jaune downloaded the map; the map not showing on their scrolls unlike the other Divine Beasts.

He used Magnesis to slide a bar into place, rotating a circular section and the inside of that attached room. He then reversed the rotation in order to open the door and reach the first terminal. One of the four door locks detached when it activated. He then climbed up a crank and then reversed the rotation in order to get to a higher level. Once he walked across the crank, using Stasis in order to have a bridge raised, he reached a water-filled room. Using Cryonis to activate the turning room, he reversed the rotation in order to ride a platform to the door. In the other section, he used Stasis to build up kinetic energy to turn a gigantic wheel to shut off the water pouring from stone pipes.

In the other room, Ruby, Yang, and Pyrrha paced nervously. Even in the "waiting area", everyone could feel that their Semblances were blocked.

Pyrrha begrudgingly gave the maker credit for making sure no one cheated.

Once he collected a Zora Spear, he went to the first section through the shallow water and used Magnesis to lift a metal orb and pressed a switch that hit the wheel, spinning it and activating the water, before using Cryonis to make a platform to the terminal. A second lock detached from the main door. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief spotting Jaune run across the top section perfectly fined, with minimal Aura drained from Guardian sentries-not even a whole chunk.

Using Magnesis, he connected a rotating section of the wall to the main gear and walked through an opening that appeared to a room with a massive fan. Taking a glance at the device blowing wind at him, he took a page from Yang's book. "Hey, it's my biggest fan." He joked to himself.

Yang held up a card with a 4 out of 5 on it. "Not bad but he needs work." she comments ignoring the groans at the pun.

Alternating the rotation to change the direction of the air current was used to his advantage, until Jaune used Stasis to freeze the fan and activate the third terminal, making a third lock detach from the door. He ate a couple palm fruit to restore the two chunks of Aura he lost when the fan hit him. Then, he left the room.

As he exited the room, he realized something; this was a test of his skill with the runes...using puzzles based on the Divine Beasts! Water was Ruta, spinning room was Naboris, and air was Medoh...which meant Rudania involved fire.

Ozpin's cooment summed up their thoughts "This must have been made after the other beasts were."

He made his way to the last terminal room and saw a rotating spike maze over a pool of lava with streams of flames intermittently turning on and off. After changing the direction of the spike puzzle, he slid an orb into a tunnel system, changing the rotation so the orb dropped onto a platform over the lava. Picking up the orb, Jaune put it into another track that slid it into an opening made for it, sliding bars away from the Terminal. Activating the last terminal, the last door slid away and Jaune smiled as Ruby shook in place from where she was standing, rose petals falling around her.

Using Magnesis, Jaune slid the shaft into the door, which opened it and revealed where Maz was. Deactivating the force-field.

They sighed in relief because it was over. Too bad for them it wasn't.

"You have proven to have the resolve of a true hero. In the name of the Goddess Hylia...I offer this final trial!" Maz said, standing up. Dust fell from his fingers as bones cracked as they moved after untold years staying still. Without warning, Jaune was teleported, appearing in a circular coliseum floating somewhere above Hyrule as Maz teleported in front of him; hands glowing blue as the Sheikah Eye on his mask glowed orange. "Let us begin."

This was a combat trial.

"WHAT!" His girlfriends yell worriedly.

Maz pulled out a Guardian Sword and vanished, Jaune pulling out a Royal Guard's Shield and Master Sword as he backflipped around the downward strike and slashed at Maz, the Monk's Aura taking a few hits before Jaune had to leap over a charging strike in order to continue his attack. Then, Maz blurred out of view and Jaune back flipped over a lightning-fast attack similar to LightningGrimm Ganon. Jaune could feel his Champion Abilities return in this area, and once Maz was down a small 1/8th of his total Aura, he floated in the air and made illusory copies of himself; similar to Blake's Semblance. He used Urbosa's Fury a couple times to stun Maz and attack, but then the monk formed a line of him and illusions and each attack caused Daruk's Protection to shatter after deflecting three attacks.

After Maz's Aura dropped to half, he formed a blue glow in his hands; growing to nearly the size of a Hinox. A red line targeted Jaune as a blue glow formed in the center of the Sheikah Eye and Jaune deflected a Guardian Beam at Maz and slashed at him when he fell, stunned. After a while, Maz dropped metal, spiked orbs around Jaune and he saw sparks flying from them. Quickly, he recalled his fight with LightningGrimm Ganon and used Magnesis to lift an orb and caused the monk to shock himself, allowing Jaune to attack until Maz only had 1/4 of his Aura left.

Now the Monk attacked like a Hinox, stomping around more controlled than the brute of a monster and lauching two small clones at Jaune randomly. He felt Urbosa's Fury recharge and launched it three times as he continued the assault, until Maz's Aura shattered and he let out a loud howl. He then shrunk and floated.

"You faced that challenge with great courage. You have erased all doubts from my mind, as such, you were destined to receive this ancient masterpiece." Maz said, as parts shifted on the stadium and a section rose up, revealing what looked like a stone horse with glowing orange lines and a jagged unicorn's horn made of metal with it's leg's close together attached to two wheels.

Now that they knew it was over they puzzled over the "last" beast. "It looks like a motor cycle to me" Yang comments.

Jaune placed his Sheikah Scroll in the slot, and the Beast turned into blue light that fell into the Guidance Stone, that dropped onto Jaune's Scroll. With that, a new Application was added to his scroll; the Master Cycle Zero. It was refilled by throwing materials into the tank, and it would turn them into fuel. In water or in a crash, the Master Cycle Zero would return to the Scroll.

This was the "Beast Beyond the Divine Four."

"That which you have obtained...it is a masterpiece created for the true hero." Maz said, before he stared at Jaune. "Hero of Hyrule, may the Goddesses smile down at you, forevermore." With that, Jaune was teleported away from the unknown location, emerging on the Great Plateau where Kass was playing as his friends listened. Pyrrha ran over with Yang and Ruby, hugging him tightly.

Ruby was smiling excitedly "Will we get to her the unfinished song?"

"Hm?" Kass said, turning around, "Ah, it's you. I can't put my feather on it, but I get the feeling you're even more accomplished than you were when last we met. I happen to have the perfect song for someone as esteemed as you. I would love to sing it for you. My teacher's unfinished song...I finally completed the key verses! The Champions' Ballad..." As Kass started performing, Jaune stared at Hyrule Castle, and a memory came to him.

The King of Hyrule gathered the Champions, officially dubbing them Hyrule's Champions, gifting them their blue garbs crafted by Zelda, appointing Zelda s the leader of the Champions.

After that, the Champions gathered in front of a young Shiekah woman with RWBY and JNPR as Revali checked out a Sheikah Scroll. After Urbosa told Mipha about it creating pictures, Mipha asked a favor as they handed the Scroll to the woman. Daruk stood behind the rest of the Champions, JNPR on the right, RWBY on the left. She told Revali to move closer, Daruk to crouch down, and Mipha to relax.

"That's it! Smile... Click SNAP!" The woman said, taking the picture as Daruk slammed his hands together around the others just as the photo was taken.

Link crashed into Zelda with Urbosa laughing, and Revali squawking indignantly. Blake had leaped with a yelp as Weiss bumped into Revali. Yang stumbled as she held onto Ruby. Jaune had crashed into Mipha's arms while Pyrrha had been knocked onto his back, Ren had been knocked into Nora; accidentally kissing.

"After this ceremony, they would all forever be known as Champions." Kass said, "My teacher always advised me to write songs that transport the listener to the moment in time you're singing of. Now...I finally feel I understand what he meant...and the true power of music. By the way, I found this when I was looking through my teacher's notes. I was thinking...you should be the one to keep it. Your courageous heart reminds me of the indomitable spirit of the Champions. I know you'll treasure it." With that, Kass gave Jaune the framed photo of the Champions, RWBY, and JNPR on that day.

"That was a great song and that photo is perfect." Ruby says happily.

"Jaune." He heard Ozpin said, "I have watched your journey. Every step. You have overcome every challenge with great Courage. I am certain we can defeat Calamity Ganon...Truly."

"Meet me at Rito Village later." Kass said, putting his accordion again and flying off. With a glance at each other, after Pyrrha forced him to eat some of his prepared food to restore the large amount of Aura he lost, they teleported to Rito Village. There, they saw Kass playing the accordion for the five little Rito girls Jaune helped practice singing, while they sang along.

"Ah, we meet again!" Kass said, "I'm taking a moment's rest from my calling to enjoy some musical frivolity with my daughters. Though it may not be within my power, I commit my wish as song...that this peace might last forever. By the by, I've something I must ask of you. I need you to hear a song. If it pleases you, could you come back here later? After the sun is down? Ever so sorry for the trouble."

"It must be a really special song." Ruby said, as Jaune saw a knowing gleam in Kass's eye. So, Jaune cooked a couple Mighty Simmered Fruit, a Tough Crab Stir-Fry, an Enduring Steamed Meat, and a Tough Seafood Skewer. That night, they met with Kass where they saw him performing with his five daughters.

They smiled at the family. It was a beautiful sight.

"Ah, there they are. Thank you for coming." Kass said, "I wish to speak with you, so this will take some time. Is that alright?"

"That's fine." Jaune reassured him.

"Thank you ever so much. I wanted to talk to you about my teacher." Kass said, and everyone perked up. They would finally learn more about Kass's mysterious teacher. "My teacher was of the Sheikah tribe. He was the court poet for the Hylian Royal Family. At the time, there was a beautiful princess in the Royal Family, quite close to my teacher in age, apparently. Though he must have known it was doomed to be unrequited, my teacher fell in love with her...But the princess herself only had eyes for her escort, her own knight attendant. My teacher was consumed with jealousy...He fumed that the knight was neither nobility nor royalty himself. And then the Calamity struck...He was consumed with guilt hearing the knight died sheltering the Princess, who left this world to join him." Kass turned away to the sky.

"...My teacher believed a hero would appear to beat back the Calamity. He poured that belief into a song. And that song is what I need you to hear. ~An ancient hero, a Calamity appears, Now resurrected after 10,000 years. Her appointed knight gives his life, shelters her figure, and pays the price. The princess's love for her fallen knight awakens her power/ and within the castle the Calamity is forced to cower. Splitting her power, the princess leaves this world, as the Advisor carries her unfinished role.~"

"~But the knight's brother survives! In the Shrine of Resurrection he sleeps, until from his healing dream he leaps! For Fierce and deadly trials await! To regain his strength, fulfill his fate. To become a Hero once again, to wrest the new King from Evil's Den. The hero, the Champions, and the new king, must bring light to this land!~"

As the song ended, Kass took a moment to let the group absorb the words. "My teacher fled the Calamity and returned to his hometown of Kakariko Village. He witnessed firsthand the knight's sacrifice and the Princess's fate, along with his brother picking up the Sacred Sword. The elder of Kakariko Village, Impa, explained these circumstances to him, and his mind was made up. He would seek the songs of the hero who sealed the Calamity away in an age past...so they could be passed on to the new knight-once he returned. All that so the new King might be saved with Hyrule...Those were my teacher's last words, passed on now through me."

With that, Kass turned and stared at Jaune. "So...appointed Knight Jaune Arc, brother of the first knight. Will you accept this song from my departed teacher?"

"Yes." Jaune said...there was no way he could deny those words.

They took it in shocked. They had hoped for answers but they weren't what they wanted to hear. None the less, that paused in silence for Kass's teacher.

"Thank you so much!" Kass said cheerfully, "I knew you would. I was sure of it! My teacher would often speak of the princess's beauty. I would love to try and make a song worthy of her memory. Thank you for spending this time with me."

With renewed hearts, they teleported to Hateno, to rest until the new morning...for then they would teleport to and storm Hyrule Castle! Upon reaching his bed, Jaune paused at a section of wall above a dresser near his bed and hung up the picture Kass gave him, smiling nostalgically.

"I hope he writes a wonderful song." Nora says. This shocked them that the ever hyper Nora was acting so calm but it was shattered when she yelled "Time to get the beacon!" that was the Nora they knew.

They arrived in Hyrule Castle thanks to fast travel early the next morning. Weiss and Ruby, nearly choked on the strong Malice in the air. Going up a few stairs, Pyrrha pushed the fake metal bookcase away as they entered the library...only for walls of Malice to separate them. Red eyes gazed from the walls as the Malice seemed to bubble.

*start "Drowning" by NateWantsToBattle*

They noticed that the song set the mood well.

Ruby hopped back as Malice burst forth creating a black and red Grimm with bone mask eerily similar to her face, with bone plates forming a combat skirt and a hooded came made of Malice. It's clawed hands reached into the Malice Wall, pulling out a Savage Lynel Spear made of Malice.

Ruby vs Dark Ruby

Dark Ruby thrust her spear outwards at Ruby, who sped to the side in a flurry of rose petals as she brought out Crescent Rose. She blocked another strike with the blade of her beloved scythe before twirling and shooting it with a shock arrow. It reeled back, vanishing in a blur and hitting her with the blunt end of it's Malice Spear, draining a good chunk of her Aura.

Ruby spun, slicing into it with the blade of her scythe as it "bled" Malice, growling at her as it hefted it's spear up and formed multiple copies of it in the air.

"I may be named after a flower...but you forget..." Ruby said, vanishing in a pile of rose petals as all of the spears coated the floor upon impact. "ROSES HAVE THORNS!" Ruby said, reappearing in the air and slicing head off the Grimm copy of herself. As it dissipated into smoke, Ruby knelt down and panted as the fierce blow caught up to her, which made her start eating a few cookies Jaune made to begin restoring it.

Blake vs Dark Blake

Blake stared at the copy of her. It was a black and red body with red eyes, a bone mask, bone cat ears, and bone boots. In it's hand, was a windcleaver made of Malice. It swung the massive Katana as Blake held Shroud, Blake's amber eyes narrowing as she saw Malice coat the area it hit. A second copy formed as the Grimm copy split it's body and Blake launched a few bomb arrows into it's direction. While one exploded, the second rolled out of the blast. It growled and formed another copy as it saw two Blakes and both stabbed into their respective Blake; only to phase through them as Blake let go of the pillar and sliced one copy in half before stabbing the sword through the bone mask of the second one.

"That was actually quite disappointing." Blake said, "It's intelligence was very limited...like it was..." Her eyes widened in horror, "learning to help another one!"

Weiss vs Dark Weiss

Weiss's Dark copy had a bone crown in hair made of Malice as it's red eyes peered in a sinister manner from it's mask of bone. Bone plates formed a combat skirt as she held a Zora Sword made out of Malice. Myrnaster clashed against the Malice Blade, smoke of Malice rising to counteract the icy air around Myrnaster. Both of them took a few steps in a circle around each other, sizing each other up. Suddenly, the dark copy formed a summoning glyph, calling forth a Moblin made from Malice.

Weiss smirked as she summoned a Wizrobe made of ice, and the Malice Moblin would launch powerful swings, but the Wizrobe would dance around it and start on freezing parts of it's body. Dark Weiss charged forward as Weiss appeared to be watching her summon, stabbing forward with it's Malice Blade, only for it to be swatted away by Weiss's sword and Myrnaster pierced it's chest and it instantly froze before shattering. The summons fell apart as the Wall of Malice vanished.

"Truly no challenge to someone such as myself..." Weiss said, before sitting down, "But I am still SO GLAD I took some time to train on my own!"

Yang vs Dark Yang

Yang gave a confident smirk to her dark counterpart, who was wearing a coat made out of Malice. Dark Yang's red eyes glared at Yang from it's bone mask, as bones formed Gauntlets, boots, and armor under it's coat. In it's hands was a Savage Lynel Crusher made out of Malice.

"Yeah...I'm not digging the dark and evil look." Yang said, activating Ember Celica, making Dark Yang lunge at her with the Malice Crusher drawn. Yang did a few back-flips to dodge it's shock-waves from the impact and fired some fire arrows, which bounced off a section of armor while one pierced it's arm and made it growl. Yang grinned as it swung wildly while dodging, landing a few flaming punches into it's bone armor; making it crack.

"You couldn't hit the broadside of...a..." Yang's taunt trailed off as she caught the Malice Crusher with her right hand, eyes following a lock of golden hair floating to the ground. "YOU MONSTER!" Suddenly, a burst of flaming Aura surrounded Yang, her hair started glowing and her eyes turned red as she ripped the Malice Crusher from Dark Yang's grip and threw it through the Grimm's body before pummeling it with her flaming gauntlets. The Grimm burst into smoke, as did the Malice Walls around her. Her Semblance faded as she smoothed her hair.

"Huh. Piece of cake." Yang said, getting hugged by her sister as the rest of RWBY met up.

"I'm worried. It was like they were studying us." Blake said, as everyone's eyes turned serious.

"It was strange that they were very powerful, yet so fragile..." Ruby added.

Lie Ren vs Dark Ren

Ren calmly faced his adversary, his Negative Emotions Masking Semblance active. The dark copy only had a bone mask, bone plates on his hands, and forming boots. However, it dual wielded a Viscous Sickle and Feathered Edge made out of Malice. Ren calmly took a stance with Stormflower and caught the blow of the Malice Sickle with the blades of Stormflower and turned it so he jumped sideways over a horizontal slash and kicked the Grimm in it's face and then disengaged his weapon lock and shot a couple Ice Arrows into it's wrists.

The Grimm growled as it saw it's hands frozen and looked up, eyes widening in horror as it saw the blades of Stormflower in front of it's face before they pierced it's mask. As the Grimm collapsed and turned into smoke, the wall vanishing in smoke as well, Ren bowed where his opponent fell. "You should have trained more before facing me."

Pyrrha vs Dark Pyrrha

Pyrrha glared as she held Milo at her dark copy. Dark Pyrrha had an outfit resembling her old Spartan-like one using bone plates, it's red eyes gleaming from it's bone mask. It held a Gerudo Spear made out of Malice. She took deep breaths, recalling her training. Do not show anything your foe could use against you.

Then the dark copy opened it's mouth, and spoke in a sinister copy of Pyrrha's voice, "Once I'm done with you, I'm gonna enjoy killing your pitiful boyfriend, watching the blood pour from his body as his life leaves his eyes."

...Screw the training, this beast was going down!

Pyrrha charged forward and ducked under a stab, rolling forward and to the side as her dark copy kicked forward and Pyrrha spun, kicking her dark copy's feet from under her, before stabbing forward with Milo; piercing it's armor. Still, as Malice poured from the wound, it stood up and glared at Pyrrha, who gave it a confident smirk. It held the Malice Spear defensively as Pyrrha charged, blocking Pyrrha's first strike before Pyrrha suddenly disengaged and jumped over her; kicking her in the back and shooting an arrow through the chest of her dark copy, wincing for some reason at the sight before it dissipated into smoke along with the walls around her.

"No one threatens Jaune while Yang, Ruby, or I am around." Pyrrha said, tapping Milo against the stone floor.

Nora vs Dark Nora

Nora gave an excited grin as she hefted Magnhild. Her dark copy had bone plates forming armor similar to her Soldier's Armor, holding a Goron Stone Smasher made out of Malice. It jumped forward and slammed it's weapon in the ground as Nora leaped back, twirling out of the way of a second strike.

Dark Nora swung furiously, growling as every swing that made the air rush around it and slams that cracked the floor was dodged in the enclosed space.

"Hello!" Nora said, making Dark Nora's eyes widen in horror as she saw Nora standing on the bone plates on her shoulders, "FORE!" She yelled, swinging Magnhild with all of her strength like a golf club. The head of Dark Nora exploded into Malice and then it and the walls of Malice vanished into smoke. "Awww...It's broken." She then looked up, tackling into Ren as she saw (J)NPR and RWBY waiting on the last wall of Malice.

Jaune vs Dark Jaune

Jaune Arc held the Master Sword at his opponent, gleaming with it's full power, with his Protector's Shield deployed. Dark Jaune's bone plates-besides the one on his face-formed armor similar to his Soldier's Armor and Soldier's Greaves. A copy of a Royal Broadsword made of Malice was in it's right hand, and a copy of the Royal Shield made out of Malice was in it's left.

It ran forward and Jaune ducked under it's horizontal swing and rolled as it stabbed the sword into the ground. Jaune stood up, blocking a blow from it's shield with his own as the swords clashed together, Malice meeting Sacred Metal. To Dark Jaune's horror, the Master Sword started sliding through the Malice Sword as it cut through it. Dark Jaune leaped back and thrust the sword into the Malice wall, pulling it out fully repaired.

Jaune gave a confident grin as he then back-flipped over a horizontal strike; his heart beating in his ears as time seemed to slow around him and once he stepped onto the ground he leaped forward. The Master Sword sliced the Malice Shield in two, as Dark Jaune raised it, then sliced through it's sword, before slicing into Dark Jaune's body four times with bursts of light.

Dark Jaune stumbled back, thrusting it's weapons into the Malice wall, only to have it's chest pierced by the Master Sword. It growled at him and burst into smoke, the wall around him vanishing into smoke as the others gazed at him in relief.

(Battles end)

"Well...that was a thing." Jaune said, unsure how to describe their opponents as he gazed at the Master Sword that hummed in content in his hands. Now, they were free to continue their journey through the castle.

Weiss was puzzled but it dawned on her "that pig used our dark version to spy on how we fight! That is evil!" Yang reminded her "Didn't you want to spy on the students coming to Vital tournament?" Weiss blushes and looks away "That's completely different!"

However, Jaune wanted Ruby to get something, and he led them to the upper balcony, heading in the opposite direction of the King's Study. Ruby zoomed forward, picking up a long throw enchanted Great Frostblade out of a pile of rubble. Once they hit the armory, as Pyrrha picked up a Royal halberd, she had to jump out of the way of a massive Claymore that sliced into the stone floor where she stood. In front of them was what looked like a heavily-armored knight in black and gold armor.

It was a Darknut, a massive, knight-like monster known for weapon skills and tough armor. Jaune glared at it with his Master Sword drawn as Ruby charged forward and sliced at it's legs, only for a round shield to block the blow; yet it's shield froze. It growled, chipping away at the ice with it's Claymore as Jaune sneaked behind it and slashed through a weak section of it's armor in the back, making it's chest plate and back plate fall off and vanish into smoke; revealing chain-mail armor around a body of Malice. It slammed the shield against a wall, shattering the ice as it threw the Claymore at Ruby, both Great Frostblade and Claymore shattering as Ruby blocked it, but still skidded backwards from the impact of the Darknut's weapon slamming into hers.

It drew a broadsword from behind it's shield and charged forward, Pyrrha stabbing into the armor with her Royal Halberd, but it threw its shield into the halberd, bending it before it sliced through the shaft of the polearm. It raised it's broadsword to strike, only for the tip of the Master Sword to stab through it's body and armor, making it vanish into smoke.

"Is everyone alright?" Jaune asked.

"We're fine..." Pyrrha panted out, "But it's safe to assume that Ganon has boosted the strength of his stronghold."

Ruby was sobbing "He broke my sword!"

Ruby was moping. "That was so cool but so rude too!"

"Ruby. Relax. I'm going this way for a reason." Jaune said, "After all, I believe this is the way to the Royal Guard's Sword; the closest thing the Sheikah made to the Master Sword." With that statement, Ruby was by his side instantly as Yang laughed at her reaction. Ruby glanced at a rusty statue covered in armor, nearly bursting into tears as she growled at the rust-covered Claymore.

"That's not the weapon." Jaune said, making Ruby look at him. He led them to the left and turned into a small room, where Ruby squealed in excitement seeing a black sword similar in shape to the Royal Broadsword with the Sheikah Eye on it's hilt above the hand-grip. Pulling it out of it's stone pedestal, she admired the Attack Enchanted Royal Guard's Sword in her hand. She sheathed in on her belt and stroked Crescent Rose on her back as she went starry eyed and started talking faster than anybody excluding Nora could understand, and Nora didn't understand the terms she was talking about.

Sage handed her a recording and she listened to it nodding. "Makes sense."

"It was a nice thing you did." Yang said, pulling Jaune tightly against her, "You made my little sister very happy."

"I'd do anything to make you all happy." Jaune said, as Yang, Pyrrha, and Ruby blushed at his words, "But...I don't want fighting for 'status' among this family. Ranks are meaningless...if you have to settle something, talk it out or use games like Rock, Paper, Scissors if you have to."

Pyrrha smile at him, "I knew that you were a great person...there were many males that would KILL to have women fighting for him, but here you just want us to stay friends with each other." They moved into the dining room, collecting monster parts, and fresh mushrooms, meat, and fruit lying on the ruined tables after killing the four moblins. Exiting the room, they wandered down the stairs, with Blake shooting and destroying a Malice eye. With his Royal Guard's Bow, Jaune moved up a stairway and bombarded a Black Moblin with fire arrows before using one to destroy a Malice Eye.

They gently glided down to the main walkway leading to the castle, not going to do this attack half-done. If they were storming Hyrule Castle, then they would clear it of monsters! Jaune saw a Flying Guardian, recalling his frustration with those machines since they often remained out of reach, and used bomb arrows to destroy it's propellers which made it drop to the ground helpless. However, the backlash from the arrows destroyed his second Royal Guard's Bow, which he then replaced with his second Royal Bow. He then pulled Yang close to her and deflected two Guardian Beams back into the decayed Guardians with Daruk's Protection after he noticed them targeting her.

"Yeah!" They were cheering their others on.

Yang's lilac eyes stared into Jaune's sea blue eyes as they gazed in concern at her. "I'm fine...Thanks Hero." Yang said, standing back up. While this was happening, Nora was happily smashing the helpless Flying Guardian until it exploded. After that exciting moment, they went back into the castle via the entrance Jaune, Pyrrha, and Yang once took; the others jumping in surprise as the wooden bars slid down behind them.

They continued to walk through the hallways, destroying monsters and Malice Eyes around the lower levels of the castle. Dropping to the lower level, Pyrrha saw the Black Moblin that once held the Royal Guard's Halberd was now Silver. This didn't deter Jaune as he stared it down, dodging or blocking it's attacks as he responded with his own furious attacks raining down on the beast. Finally, Jaune dealt the final blow as he picked up the Royal Guard's Halberd and the gems and monster parts it left behind.

Upon reaching a hallway, they all climbed and jumped across the ruins of the West Passage.

"Is this..." Pyrrha trailed off as she hopped from ledge to ledge.

"The secret passageway used to escort Princess Zelda out of the castle when the Calamity struck? Yes it was." Jaune said. Seeing that it only led to a way out of the castle, they used the mine cart to head back. To their surprise, they found a Korok hiding in that passageway.

It was now day 2 of their attack. They had arrived in the lockup.

Jaune used Urbosa's Fury in order to repeatedly stun silver enemies that allowed everyone to pick them off one by one, before blasting holes in walls of weakened jail cells and destroying a couple Malice Eyes. Weiss picked up a forgotten Blizzard Rod.

"Hehehe. Ice power for Ice Queen." Yang teased.

"Shut up." Weiss said as her eye twitched.

Weiss glared at Yang who grinned.

Jaune entered the Stalnox room, easily dispatching the skeletal beast with only two ice arrows and his Master Sword without getting hit and letting Ruby collect the Great Thunderblade, Ren collect the Royal Broadsword, and Pyrrha collect the Royal Halberd. Once they went the opposite way and got back outside, Jaune used his shield to deflect a Guardian Beam back at the decayed Guardian. After that, they found another Korok hiding near a castle wall. Moving back into the castle where the Shrine was, they cleared out the black Lizalfos and Kesee in that area, and soon found another Korok when they went back outside. Jaune was blasted into the wall by a Flying Guardian after using Daruk's protection to shield Pyrrha from a Turret Guardian, and it flew out of the way as Yang, Pyrrha, and Ruby bombarded it with different types of arrows. Jaune glared at the Turret Guardian and pulled out an Ancient Arrow, the tip of the arrow forming a blue blade when he pulled it back and when it hit the Turret, it formed a small black hole that sucked the eye and the machines in the guardian's head into it, making the Guardian explode.

As night fell, they approached another section of wall with multiple guardian turrets. After clearing them, Weiss looked at the time on her scroll and sighed. It was now day 3.

"We might as well head to the Sanctum and free King Ozpin." Weiss said.

"What?!" Ruby protested, "Why? What about taking care of all the monsters and Guardians for him?"

"As much as I hate to say it...this work is all futile." Weiss said as she sat down, munching on some Enduring Fried Wild Greens, "As soon as a Blood Moon rises, we're all back to square one."

"Oh..." Pyrrha said, "We...we hadn't thought of that...I'm sorry!"

They moved to the Observation Room that they had glided down from, and climbed up the wall to the roof of it. They moved quickly into Zelda's room, Ren killing the silver moblin and claiming the Edge of Duality as Jaune picked up a durability enhanced Royal Guard's Bow to replace his recently broken Royal Bow.

Upon reaching the outside of the Sanctum, they saw a heart-shaped cocoon of Malice with metal and Malice "veins" branching into the top of the room, beating with a sinister light shining from within. Right before they could take a step, they were surrounded by Flying Guardians.

"Jaune! Go! We'll meet up with you!" Ren shouted, "You're the one who carries the sword that can hurt Calamity Ganon, we'll be there to assist you as soon as these annoyances are dealt with."

With a solemn nod, Jaune ran into the hallway.

It was time to face The Calamity Ganon.

Sage closed the book. "Before we read the last chapter. I'm giving you guys a chance to fight the 'evil piggy' as Nora called him. I will prepare the battle field. Be ready."

Author's Note: The next two chapters will be break chapter with them fighting Gannon and some other things. The first one will be up in a day or two because battles are hard to write. See you then. Ultima-Owner signing out!
