Chapter 29: Kunoichi On Fire
Another wonderful day rised in the city of Norrisville. The birds chirped in harmony and the trees played with the wind. Their leaves rustled beautifully, making a wonderful, natural and soothing melody.
...
A teenage girl we already know was seen sleeping peacefully, the thick, soft and warm sheets were covering almost her entire face, and she was breathing slow and calmly.
When an alarm clock buzzed, Jennifer moaned and rolled around her bed.
"Please, not now." She said tiredly.
"Jennifer! Wake up, honey! Today's your archery contest!" Called Mrs. Jackson out of her daughter's room.
"I don't really wanna' go." Moaned Jennifer, but then realized what her mother said and sat up with big eyes. "MY ARCHERY CONTEST?!" Then she stretched out and jumped out of her bed with excitement. "Oh my sweet ninja! I'm so going there!"
She wore on her casual pink T-shirt with a red heart and the symbol of the Norisu Nine inside it. Along with that, she wore black skinny jeans and red McKicks. She also covered her T-shirt with a black jacket that had a hoodie, almost looking like that of Randy's. She brushed her hair nicely and took her very own bow and quiver full of sticky arrows.
"I'm gonna' knock 'em down like a punched grave on the ground!" Said Jennifer as she looked at her reflection in the full-body mirror and made some punches. Once she was done, she walked out of her room and closed the door behind her, screaming "This is gonna' be my best day ever!"
At Randy's house...
"Oh yeah, baby! Today's the biiiiig day!"
Randy was so excited this day for a reason, it was the releasing day of the seventh Grave Punchers game.
He fixed himself up as quick as he could right before his phone rang. This time it was his best buddy, Howard. He quickly answered the call...
"Hello?"
"Cunningham?" Said Howard's voice through the phone.
Randy's smile widened. "Howard?"
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"You already know it, bro!"
"I'm so excited, Cunningham! Finally, the seventh game of Grave Punchers is about to be ours!"
"I can't wait to buy it!"
"You don't say. Well, I'll see you at school, buddy."
Randy ended the call and ran out of his room laughing out loud.
"This is gonna' be the brucest day of my life!" He exclaimed.
At school...
Randy closed his locker after putting in some stuff, one being his NinjaNomicon.
"I still can't believe we're about to get the seventh game of Grave Punchers."
"Yeah! I can't imagine how many levels It will have."
As they chatted, Jennifer walked by with a smile. By then, the boys made their usual high-five slap.
Jennifer stopped close to them and waved a hand. "Hey, boys."
The moment Randy saw her, he smiled at her and said "Wassup, Jenn! Wow! You look very pretty today. Like, very, very pretty."
"Aw, thanks, Ran." Responded Jennifer kindly, joining her hands and blushing a bit.
"What's with all that gear, anyway?" Asked Howard.
"You mean my stuff?" Asked Jennifer, referring to her archery set. "Well, I've brought my bow and arrows with me because today's the super bruce Norrisville High archery contest!"
The boys' smiles in their faces dropped.
"An archery contest? Really?" Asked Randy with a hint of disappointment in his voice.
"Yeah. I'm really sorry, guys, but I've got to compete. Mr. G just signed me up about a week ago and I can't miss it."
"But today's the day of our lives! We can't miss the releasing of the seventh Grave Punchers game!" Exclaimed Howard.
"I know. I'm sorry, but I can't go with you guys until the contest is over. I can't be abscent, and I want to keep my word. I would instead appreciate your presence in the contest. Sometimes I can't control my emotions too much, and I get pretty scared of what I could do next."
The boys stood silent and blinked a little.
Jennifer sighed. "Well, you can just think about coming to join me and tell me later. Until then, I'll just be off."
She walked off, looking a bit sad, but not angry. Randy sighed at that and stood staring at her until she was out of sight.
"She is so locked in that archery contest of hers. I can't just let her do this without someone who can cheer her up."
"Let me guess... She'll be stuck in her archery contest, and you're going to sacrifice the time of our lives to just sit down and watch such kid shoot some arrows?"
"Chill out, big H. We can get the seventh game of Grave Punchers after the contest. Jennifer deserves some cheers. Enlighten yourself up for a bit. It'll be fun."
Weinerman crossed his arms and pouted a little, but later let it go and walked away with Randy.
"I just hope we get it once we're out of that stupid archery contest."
"Howard, it's not stupid. Let's just do this for Jennifer, all right?" Said Randy with a slight smile. "I assure you that once the contest is over, that super bruce game will be waiting for us in the Game Hole."
...
In another corner of the locker halls, Jennifer stood staring at her reflection in the mirror of her locker, trying to control her emotions. It was too much the excitement she felt that it led her to feel nervous, but in a bad way. She was also trying not to hyperventilate this day.
"Okay... Jenny, control yourself." She told herself. "Don't let emotions affect you. Conceal them away. Don't panic. Breathe deeply. Relax."
She made some breathing exercises after that. And not very long after, her NinjaNomicon flashed, interrupting her.
"Ah, the NinjaNomicon. Maybe you can help me throughout my archery contest." She said, smiling down at the book.
She opened it and her consciousness was absorbed into it, leaving her in a trance state. She was sent straight inside her locker and the door closed itself.
"Arg!"
...
Jennifer landed ninja-style on a certain land where flames spread wild. Little was the amount of trees and leaves, and big was the heat, making Jennifer sweat a little.
"Whew! You know, NinjaNomicon? It's burning hot out here." She said, wiping off some sweat from her face. "But anyways, I've got an archery contest today. Care to give me some advice?"
The flames bursted out and a rock appeared in front of Jennifer, with some eextremely hot lava streaming down. The lava created a new message...
"A Kunoichi must control her emotions or it will be her downfall."
"Nice advice, Nomi-bruce!" She exclaimed, pumping her fists. "Archery contest, here I go!"
And she was pushed out of the Nomicon.
...
Jennifer found herself being dragged on the floor. She gasped at that and stood up straight, only to see Randy and Howard.
"Why the cheese did you guys dragged me like that? People might think you guys are insane!" Exclaimed Jennifer, with a lot of embarrassment.
"Sorry, Jenn. It was Howard's idea."
"Hey!" Screamed Howard, giving Randy a strong punch in the arm. "You found her lying inside her locker in the first place!"
"But you told me "Hey, Cunningham! Since there is no one around here, why don't we drag this crazy kid out of her locker?" "
"I DIDN'T SAY THAT!" Yelled Howard.
"Guys, guys, don't fight!" Interjected Jennifer. "Okay, so, will you come?"
"Absolutely!" Smiled Randy, but then Howard pushed him off.
"Hey, she asked me!"
They both argued for a while, and all Jennifer did was rolling her eyes. All that noise was driving her crazy. She began feeling a bit exasperated as she breathed like a bull, and felt her skin heating up like boiling water. The arguing between Randy and Howard continued until she finally decided to let it all out.
"You both can come! Now stop arguing, would you please?!" She screamed at them.
They both remained quiet at her outburst, just like puppies when they obeyed their owners.
Jennifer sighed heavily and kept her cool, bowing her head down. "I'm sorry about that, you guys. But all that noise just puts some pressure on me."
Randy gingerly rested his hands over Jennifer's shoulders. "It's okay, Jenn. Just keep calm. We'll be cheering you up in the contest."
Jennifer started to blush by then. "Thank you."
Before they could say anything else, they heard the principal making an announcement.
"Attention, archers. The contest will begin in five minutes. So please ready your gears and head to the yard."
"This is it, Jenn. Let's head there and knock 'em down!" Said Randy with a smile.
"Like a punched grave in the ground!" She said after him, doing some punches with her fists.
"I totally love when you say that!"
He wrapped an arm behind her neck and walked off with Howard following beside them.
"This is gonna' be the most boring day ever." Muttered Howard.
As they walked off, they failed to notice some green stank flying to a vent and down to the Sorcerer's underground prison.
...
He was asleep on his hammock, but that was until he caught up a whole new scent coming from the stank. He chuckled coldly at the scent and sat up.
"Ahh... the marvelous scent of strong emotions. Let's see what we've got here..."
One of the pearls in his waists floated up, revealing an image of Jennifer and Randy. They were outside, on the yard of the school, where the archery contest was set.
"Ran, I don't think I can do this! I'm still so nervous!"
"Chill out, Jenn. You'll do great."
The image disappeared, and the evil Sorcerer chuckled again.
"An archery contest, huh. That little brat will suffer, and then my freedom will be made!"
At McFist Industries...
Viceroy, the evil genious, was busy testing a new ninja-destroying robot. This one had the shape of a human body, but it had the standard gray color like any other robot, and it had red glowing eyes.
It had a bow in one hand and a silver arrow in the other, and it was "practicing" its shooting skills. The robot prepared the bow in front of its eyes and strug the arrow way back, then shot it at a target which was set 20 feet away from it. The arrow hit the exact center of the bull's eye.
Viceroy showed a sinister smirk. "Perfect."
"Instead of laughing, why aren't you planning something to destroy the Ninja?!" Screamed McFist with a hint of impatience in his tone. "I'm dying to get my reward!"
"I already made something, you just haven't seen it yet." Replied Viceroy.
McFist rolled his eyes and went to see Viceroy's latest creation, but was baffled at what he saw.
"Viceroy, what exactly is that? It looks like a medieval age piece of junk."
"It's called the Ultra Archer 3000. It's programmed with the most professional archery skills, surpassing that of an average teenager's archery skills."
"THAT ISN'T EVEN RELATED WITH THE THEME OF DESTROYING THE NINJA!"
"I'm not done yet. In order to create chaos, Ultra Archer 3000 will be sent to what I know as an archery contest disguised as a foreign participant. The robot will be no match for the teens there. And once they lose, we'll be able to set the Sorcerer free using negative emotions of at least one person."
"I LOVE THIS PLAN!" Shouted McFist, surprising the scientist. "SEND OUT THE ULTRA ARCHER 3000!"
Viceroy didn't hesitated and did what he was ordered to do.
...
On the yard in front of the school, everyone cheered for the archery contest's participants. There were 19 kids, most of them were boys, some were girls, and Jennifer was one of them.
They were all standing beside each other, with their bows and arrows ready. Jennifer sighed at her sudden feeling of nervousness that creeped her out a little.
Because she was the 19th participant, a foreign participant stood beside her with a strange-looking bow and a quiver full of silver arrows. Nobody knew it was the Ultra Archer 3000. It had the body of a senior year student wearing a red T-shirt, light jeans and black tennis shoes.
"Wow, that is one strange-looking guy." Muttered Jennifer, staring at the foreign participant.
...
The two best bros sat on the bleachers, waiting for the contest to begin. Randy kept his eyes on Jennifer and smiled while Howard enjoyed some cheese-filled nachos and some soda.
"I can't wait for the contest to start. I mean, Jennifer sure is a nice archer."
"How do you even know that, Cunningham? You haven't seen her shoot an arrow just yet."
"Well... she had thrown an arrow at some RoboApes when I first met her, later she destroyed a robotic spider with a single arrow not too long ago. And on Halloween she even ignited an arrow on fire and single-handedly destroyed a Jack-O-Robot while I was out there trying to defeat them."
"Okay." His best friend didn't seemed too impressed. "But because she did all that stuff doesn't mean she's the greatest archer of all. I mean, look at her! She seems so unsure about herself. Tell me, how many times did she told you how nervous or scared or anxious she is?"
"Wow. Dude, I can't even count them."
"See? That's the point. I think we should just get her butt out of the contest and head straight to the Game Hole!"
"Hey, y'all! It's your chica, H. Weinerman, reporting live at Norrisville High's very first archery contest!" Announced Heidi with her camera.
Everyone applauded and a shower of confetti was thrown in the air.
"I guess we're too late now." Said Randy with such a grin, much to Howard's dismay.
"This isn't over yet, Cunningham!" Howard whispered to Randy.
They both stood watching at the participants standing in the yard in front of them.
"Today, 20 brave participants of Norrisville High will give their heart to this wonderful contest, showing their great skills as archers. And only one of them will get a surprising prize..." Continued Heidi.
"And that prize is..." Said Randy, with his eyes staring at a box which was covered with a black fabric. A student uncovered it, revealing a small, gold trophy that had a beautiful arrow inside a crystal box.
"The winner of Norrisville High's first archery contest will also receive a full-packed professional set and a hundred dollars to spend!"
When Heidi mentioned this, Randy, Howard, and Jennifer on the yard stood with their eyes widened and mouths dropped. They were all thinking about something...
"Did you just heard what I just heard, Cunningham?"
"I did." Responded Randy. "If Jennifer wins, then that means..."
"If I win the contest then I can..."
Then the three said together...
"...get the seventh game of Grave Punchers!"
Randy and Howard pumped their fists together, celebrating that small moment.
"That girl's got to win the contest! If she really has performed archery, then I'll believe in her abilities now." Smiled Weinerman.
"That's the spirit!" Exclaimed Randy.
"Now, participants, you have the chance to see the trophy."
All the participants walked to see the trophy out of the crystal box, they were all making a line. Some of them touched it for good luck.
When it was Jennifer's time, she touched the trophy with both hands and closed her eyes.
"Please, let me win this contest at least for once." She muttered, then walked off to prepare.
All the participants returned to their positions. By then, Jennifer started feeling some jitters creeping her.
Randy took small notice of that by the way Jennifer stood, and used a small piece of paper and a marker to write out something...
"Cunningham, what are you doing?" Asked Howard with a raised eyebrow.
"I said I can cheer her up, right? Then this is a way to cheer her up." Responded Randy, still writing down some stuff.
When the contestants felt ready, Heidi finally announced the beginning of the contest.
"May the very first Norrisville High archery contest begin!"
With that said, everyone applauded harder and some even whistled out loud. Using that time to his advantage, Randy held up the paper that said "GO, JENN! YOU'RE SO BRUCE!" and had a big happy face below that sentence. Along with that, he screamed loud enough for Jennifer to hear.
"You can do it, Jenn!" He screamed. "Show them who's the cheese!"
Jennifer heard that from Randy and turned her eyes to him. She smiled at him and at the paper he held up in the air.
"You're such a cutie, Randy Cunningham." She muttered, then turned her eyes back to the competition.
As the crowd fell to silence, the first participant walked forward to a line. Of course, the participant was a guy. He pulled out an arrow from his quiver and strung the arrow back, then fired.
The arrow flew to the target, which was set 20 feet away. But the guy only got 2 points. The guy sighed and walked back to his position next to the rest of the participants.
The second participant was a girl, a chubby one at that. She quickly took an arrow from her quiver and strung it back, then fired, getting 6 points.
"Wow. I guess I'll never make it to 10." Muttered Jennifer.
And because they were many, the first round was to get 10 points. If fifteen of the 20 contestants were to make a hit at the bull's eye, they were to go straight to the second round. Jennifer's chances of winning started to go down low as she began feeling her skin warming up.
"Keep it together, Jenny." She muttered to herself. "Control yourself."
The third participant was already prepared. Jennifer took an eye on who it was and saw her worst bully of all...
"Bash Johnson? Really?!" Exclaimed Randy with big eyes.
"Poor Jenny's gonna' get her guts punched if he wins this round." Said Howard.
"We both know she's no match for a guy like him. And I'm sure Jennifer will need more support."
"What do you mean by 'more support'?"
Randy pulled out his mask and was about to stand up, but Howard gripped his arm and forced him to sit back down.
"The Ninja can deal with some important schemes later. Right now we're stuck in this archery contest. And I already had enough with that!"
Randy sighed and gave it up.
By the time, Bash already shot the arrow at the target, hitting the bull's eye.
"Yeah! 10 points!"
Jennifer face-palmed. "Ugh. I guess I'll soon be hit in the guts."
Later...
The rest of the participants already shot their first arrows. One of them got 7 points, two others got 9, and the rest made a 10, except the last two participants, Jennifer and the foreign participant.
Finally, it was Jennifer's turn to shoot. She felt the jitters growing up, which got her a bit tense as she walked forward to step on the white line. She took an arrow out of her quiver and set it on the bow's string, then she slowly pulled the arrow back at her cheek. She took her eyes on the target and breathed out. She imagined the distance growing more and more. This resulted difficult for her vision and aim.
"Yo, kid! Did you got paralyzed or what?" Called Bash in a mocking tone as the rest of the participants laughed.
Jennifer felt a spark of rage awakening inside, and she tightened her grip on the bow. She kept hearing the others laughing, and later on, her skin started to burn in heat, making her sweat.
...
Randy saw that moment and stood up.
"I have to help Jennifer."
Howard stopped him once again. "Cunningham, let her handle it. It's her contest!"
As he listened to Howard's words, the crowd applauded hard. Jennifer had already shot her first arrow at the bull's eye and got 10 points. She was so amazed that she fell on her knees, her eyes flew wide.
Randy and Howard cheered for her out loud as the crowd kept applauding.
"That was so bruce! You go, Jenn!"
"That was one impressive shot! And it literally burned!" Exclaimed Heidi.
"I can't believe I just did that." Whispered Jennifer, still amazed.
And last, it was the foreign participant's turn. The disguised robot walked to the line, took an arrow from its quiver and strung it back, then quickly fired. The arrow flew like a flash of lightning, and hit the exact center of the bull's eye. It was much the impression of the crowd that they applauded harder than they did with Jennifer.
"O. M. Wowsers! That arrow flew like the lightning!"
"Say what now?!"
Both Jennifer and the boys screamed that out loud. The disguised robot actually used its professional skills to make a 10.
Jennifer started getting a little angry. She gripped her bow strongly.
At McFist Industries...
"I bet that medieval junk won't win that stupid contest." Said McFist.
Viceroy chuckled a bit. "Actually, it will."
They both stared at a monitor, where they could see the archery contest. They actually saw a repetition of Ultra Archer 3000's first arrow shoot.
"It appears that our foreign contestant will head straight to Round Two!" Reported Heidi.
"Ooh... I'm starting to like that robot's skills." Smiled the businessman.
Viceroy smirked at Hannibal, showing him who's the real genious.
...
There were now fifteen contestants in the yard. This time, the participants had to shoot only two arrows at the target. A bit of wind took over. This resulted difficult for the first of the fifteen participants as he tried to aim well.
Without wasting any more time, he shot the first arrow, getting 8 points. Then he shot his next arrow, getting 7 more points. In total, they were 15 points.
"Wow, that guy thought he was gonna' win this time. But, failed." Said Randy.
"I can't believe this is just the second round! I mean, the contest is six rounds long, and we're wasting our time sitting our butts here instead of getting the seventh Grave Punchers game!"
"Patience, buddy. It's not, like, the end of the world or something."
"Yeah, but it might be the end of the copies at the Game Hole!"
Minutes later...
The third round came up, and there were only ten participants on the yard. On this round, 5 or more of the contestants had to make a score of 40 points to head to the fourth round. By that time, Randy fell asleep.
Jennifer's turn came up. She was feeling anxious and angry at the same time as she prepared to shoot. She strung the arrow back at her cheek and fired, but this time, she made a score of 7 points.
"A seven?!" Exclaimed Howard. "But why?"
Jennifer sighed at that and pulled out another arrow. She was getting a bit more angry, and failed to notice some flames forming on the tip of the arrow. She strung it back at her cheek, but before she had the chance to shoot it, she had a small flashback of herself attacking a robot from her enemies.
Her anger increased and she finally shot the arrow strongly towards the target's bull's eye, making the whole thing burst in flames. And only Howard saw that coming. His eyes grew wide at what he saw, and shook Randy by the shoulders.
"Cunningham. Cunningham!"
Randy reacted at his best friend's call and woke up a bit startled, but with tired eyes. "Is it over yet?" He asked tiredly.
"No. But you missed Jennifer shooting a fire arrow!"
Randy didn't believed Howard at first, and laughed. But then his smile faded. "Wait, are you serious?"
"Just look!"
Randy's eyes turned to the yard where the teens were, and later noticed some flames from the target they were supposed to shoot at. Then his eyes rested on Jennifer. His eyes flew wide at that.
"Holy cheese, Howard! When did this happened?"
"A while ago, but you fell asleep and missed the whole bruce thing!"
"But how exactly did that happened? I mean, Jennifer can't use her Kunoichi powers without wearing the suit. In fact, she doesn't even have fire powers! What the juice?"
"I guess you'll have to ask her."
...
"Okay, who the cheese just made a prank on my arrows?!" Asked a furious Jennifer to the remaining participants.
"Don't look at me, I didn't even touched them!" Exclaimed Bash with a hint of fear.
Jennifer was about to shout some words at the bully, but she was interrupted by Heidi.
"Sweet cheese! That explosive arrow deserves three extra points!"
Everyone applauded at that. Jennifer smiled at the realization that she made a 10.
"I did a 10. Thanks, weird fire arrow."
But then the disguised robot pushed her out of the way and prepared to shoot at a new target. It shot the first arrow at the bull's eye, then shot the next arrow beside the other, still hitting the bull's eye.
"My! This guy's getting tough! I wonder how he learned to shoot like that."
Jennifer felt like she wanted to explode.
...
More time passed. It was the final round, and now only Jennifer and the foreign participant stood on the yard. They both made 80 points on their previous round, and their goal was to make a score of 100 points.
"This is it, Cunningham. If she wins, we'll head straight to the Game Hole!"
"And she will, Howard. I mean, the fire arrow thing was really surprising. Where did she even learned to do that?"
"You're asking a lot of questions I can't answer."
"You're right." Responded Randy, already pulling out his NinjaNomicon he caught from his locker before going to the contest.
Howard stopped Randy from going in the Nomicon on that moment. "Hold it! Check that out." And pointed to the yard where the last two participants stood.
"It appears that the foreign contestant is the winner!" Reported Heidi.
Both Randy and Howard gasped. "WHAT?!"
"No!" Cried Jennifer, reluctantly dropping her archery set and falling to her knees.
"And with that we end this contest with our first Norrisville High archer!"
"That's wonk! How come she lost to some strange-looking guy?" Asked Randy. "Jennifer's a bruce archer!" Then he exclaimed with a deep voice "That guy's gonna' pay!"
Everybody, except Howard and Randy, got up from the bleachers and walked off to celebrate with the foreign participant, which was rewarded with the prize. Once everybody was gone, the boys ran towards their sad friend.
Jennifer was seen sitting on the grass. She held an arrow to her chest, and more tears fell out of her light brown eyes. She let her sorrow out as she heard footsteps approaching.
"Jennifer!" Called the boys in the distance.
She never turned to see them, and kept on crying. But Randy was already close to her, and gently lifted her head up by the chin.
"Jenn, it's okay. It was just a contest. I know you didn't win, but please don't be sad."
"Just a contest?" She whispered, gripping the arrow tightly. Then she shook Randy by the shoulders. "HAVE YOU GONE CRAZY?! My dad spent a lot of money on these arrows, and I assisted to this contest for nothing!"
"Jenn, please take it easy."
"I can't 'take it easy', Ran! I've been humiliated in front of you guys! I bet you even believed in my skills!"
"We did, but..."
Jennifer covered her face with her hands and cried, a shower of tears flying out. Soon enough, Randy pulled her in for a nice hug and rubbed her back for comfort.
"I can't stand being so humiliated!" She cried.
Her cry echoed on a certain vent that led to the underground prison and to the ears of the Sorcerer.
...
He took in the scent in the air and smiled evilly.
"Burning fury, strong sorrow, and a magnificent level of humiliation. Finally, my freedom is near!"
He summoned his green stank and made it fly up to the vent that led to Jennifer.
...
Jennifer's sorrow seemed endless as she hugged Randy. The stank flew towards her and entered her nostrils as well as covered the object she held most dear... an arrow.
She pushed Randy off of her before she felt some alterations in her body, becoming her monster form.
"Stanked again?! What the juice, Jennifer?!" Yelled Randy.
Jenny-monster shrieked at Randy, then punched him off. He was sent tumbling in the grass before coming to a stop.
He groaned a bit. "Ugh. Why did she had to be stanked?"
He later went to hide and wore his Ninja mask. While his suit was being made, Jenny-monster made her way to find the stranger.
...
"SMOKEBOMB!"
Randy faced Jenny-monster with a prepared fighting stance, but later stood straight.
"Jennifer, keep it down! I don't want to hurt you!"
Right before they could have the chance to engage, the foreign participant revealed its true colors to the Ninja and Jennifer, as its eyes glowed red.
"How come I didn't realized you're a killer robot?" He asked.
The Ultra Archer 3000 shot an arrow at both Randy and Jennifer. Knowing that it could hurt either of them, Randy snatched the stanked arrow from Jenny-monster using his scarf and used his katana to snap it in two. Once Jennifer returned to nornal, the Ninja carried her bridal-style and jumped out of the way to avoid being struck by the arrow.
Randy landed on the bleachers, beside Howard, and set Jennifer down nicely. But not too long after, Jennifer reacted and gasped.
"Ninja! What just happened?" She asked, already up and alert.
"Jennifer, you've got to suit up right now." Said Randy.
"Why?"
Her question was answered by the killer robot, which was now going up the bleachers the three teens were standing.
"That killer robot will sure pay, cuz' now I have to take out a two!" Exclaimed Howard. The way the robot stared at them seemed to frighten the chubby dude that it made him have the urge to use a bathroom.
Jennifer rolled her eyes, and before she knew it, she and Howard were brought down to the ground by the Ninja.
"Whoa! Thanks, Ninja." Smiled Jennifer.
"Jenn, go and suit up!"
"You got it!" Then she turned to Howard. "I'll lead you to a bathroom, come on!"
Randy watched as his two best friends ran off, then turned his eyes deadly at the killer robot.
...
"This is it, Viceroy! Turn it to Destroy-The-Ninja mode!"
The scientist showed a sinister smirk as he pressed a small red button on a pad, changing Ultra Archer 3000's Archer mode to what McFist called the Destroy-The-Ninja mode.
...
The robot's appearance as a foreign person changed to its original robot form, and strung back another arrow. But this arrow was engulfed in lightning.
The Ninja got ready, and summoned his fire powers, changing to Ninja Rage. He created a fire ball and shot it at the lightning arrow, causing a small impact that exploded the arrow to bits.
The robot ran towards the Ninja with its bow. As it did so, Randy pulled out his katana and readied his stance. Once the robot got closer to him, Randy snapped the bow with ease.
The robot saw that coming and dropped the snapped bow aside. Soon enough, it threw a clutched fist at the Ninja, but he jumped and flipped, landing behind the robot, then kicked it on its back, throwing it to the ground.
"I should've known McFist was planning something against me and Jennifer." He said.
But it happens that the robot gripped one of Randy's legs and raised him off the ground, his head turned to face the ground. He tried so hard to break free, but the robot's grip was strong on his leg.
Suddenly, the robot got hit by a burst of fire that came out of nowhere. It darted its eyes at the direction the flames came from and found the Kunoichi standing meters away.
"Let him go RIGHT NOW!"
Jennifer shot another flame blast at the robot, causing it to free the Ninja and stumble backwards until it came to a stop.
"Kunoichi! Look out!" Called Randy.
She saw the robot coming towards her, but she jumped over it and landed beside her companion. Her anger shown in her eyes faded and became a look of concern.
"Are you okay, Ran?" She softly asked, offering her hand to Randy.
"I'm good. Don't worry." Responded Randy as Jennifer helped him up. "But, how did you got the fire powers, Jenn?"
"Well, the secret is my anger. My NinjaNomicon said that "A Kunoichi must control her emotions or it will be her downfall." And seeming as I got really angry, I made everything I touch ignite on flames."
"That explains the weird fire arrow thing."
Their chatter was blown when the killer robot ran towards the two Ninjas, and both gave the robot a strong punch.
"Double Ninja Air Fist!" They chanted together, throwing out a large air fist at the robot.
The impact was too much that it sent the robot to the ground, but it later got up. This made Jennifer a bit angry. Her body was slowly being covered in a burning aura as she squeezed her fists.
"Uh... Jenny?"
"Stand back, Ninja. Because now I'll give this junk a taste of its own medicine!"
Randy slowly stepped back as Jennifer prepared her next move. She summoned fire on her palms and made a bow and arrow. Then she quickly strung the arrow back.
"Ninja Flame Arrow!" She yelled and shot the blazing arrow.
Once it hit the robot, it exploded into bits, and some smoke covered the area.
Randy and Jennifer stood beside each other, staring at the scene with no words to say. But suddenly, Jennifer felt some energy fading, and she collapsed to Randy's arms.
"Jenn! Are you okay?"
"Ninja!" Called Howard. "Thank cheese I found you. The others are asking what happened to the disguised killer robot." Then his eyes fell on the Kunoichi. "Uh... is she okay?"
"I don't know. Maybe she just passed out or something."
Both Randy and Howard stared at the Kunoichi closely. They failed to notice a smile behind her mask. When they remained silent, Jennifer surprised the boys with a scream that scared the juice out of their butts.
She laughed horribly at their reactions.
"That was not cool, Jennifer!" Exclaimed Randy with a mad face.
"You should've seen your faces." She responded laughing.
...
"You assured me the Ninja would be destroyed... AND YOU FAILED ONCE AGAIN!" Shouted the evil Sorcerer. His shout was too loud that it made the floors of the office shake like an earthquake.
"Yeah... we did failed. But this time I'll make up a new plan!"
This angered the villain even more, knowing that their plans always fail. Viceroy shook his head at his boss' words.
...
"Thanks to the Ninja, we discovered that the foreign contestant was nothing but a shoob-tastic robot, and is now disqualified." Reported Heidi.
Everyone returned to the yard where the archery contest was set. Everything had finally returned to normal.
"So, is Jennifer gonna' join us or what?"
"Well, she told us why she entered the archery contest. She did it for us."
"So that counts as a yes."
"Yes it does."
They both slapped their hands and watched as Jennifer received her prize.
Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to our first Norrisville High's archery contest winner, Jennifer Jackson!"
Jennifer raised her trophy up to the air and smiled as the crowd applauded for her. She soon saw the boys and made her way towards them.
"So, let's get going." She said and walked off.
With those words spoken, Randy, Howard and Jennifer made their way straight to the Game Hole to buy the seventh game of Grave Punchers.
