For once you woke up really late. Zuko didn't even bother waking you. You decided to show off the outfit Zuko got you a few days ago; the black halter top with cherry blossoms and a matching shirt.

Once you were ready for the day, you went on deck. Judging by the sun its past lunch. You spotted Zuko on the other side of the ship so you decided to sneak up on him.

Very stealthily you crept up behind Zuko and hugged him from behind. His body tensed for a moment but relaxed when he realized it was you.

"Hey Kana, how did you sleep?" Zuko asked

"Pretty good" you replied as you released him. "Why didn't you wake me?"

"You deserve to sleep in once in a while" Zuko replied.

You smiled sweetly "so what did I miss?" you asked curiously.

"Nothing really, it been pretty uneventful" he said rather bored.

You shrugged and leaned on the railing of the ship. Iroh appeared out of nowhere, seriously sometimes that happens, you swear that wise old man can teleport.

Iroh approached "Prince Zuko we need to go into port" Iroh said strongly.

"Uncle we can't stop again so you can go bargain hunting" zuko said rather bored.

"No prince zuko theirs going to be a bad storm, I can feel it in my bones" Iroh explained.

"Iroh last week your bones told us that there was going to be a tornado, and that didn't happen" you offered gently.

"Uncle your bones are wrong. Look theirs not a cloud in the sky" Zuko practically yelled.

You had to admit it, maybe Iroh is losing it, their really isn't a cloud in the sky.

"Maybe you should listen to your Uncle" lt Jee spoke up.

Zuko looked at him angrily but curiously. Nothing else was said.

Ok maybe Iroh isn't losing it...in about an hour dark storm clouds had appeared.

The oncoming storm looks like it will be a bad one, the wind has already picked up.

"No storm ha! I guess you should have listened to your uncle" Jee said loud enough so zuko could hear him.

"What was that" Zuko asked angrily already knowing the answer. He stomped over.

"You heard me, you're always disrespecting your poor old uncle" Jee said.

"Old? Whose old" Iroh said more to himself. You couldn't help but laugh.

"You need to learn some respect, and I will teach it to you" Zuko said as he jabbed Jee.

"What do you know about respect, from the way you talk to your hard-working crew, how you treat you Uncle and Kana, I'm surprised that Kana is still with you" Jee continued.

"Hey keep me out of this! Zuko treats me just fine!" you yelled in annoyance. Though you had to admit it would be nice if Zuko stopped forgetting about you.

That was it Zuko snapped. Zuko and Jee began to fight but Iroh broke it up saying something about calming tea.

As soon as Zuko was alone you walked up to him. "Zuko don't listen to Jee..." you were cut off.

"How can I not, everything he said is true "Zuko said sadly. "I do treat you and my uncle horribly."

"If you treated me horribly, you'd be sleeping out on the deck, Zuko you're a great person, you just need to show it more often" you said softly

Zuko nodded, understanding exactly what you mean, he's really good at that. "Kana I need to go think about things, could you..."

You cut Zuko off "I'll disappear for a while," you said brightly "I'll probably hangout with Iroh, or see what cook can do about breakfast...I might just skip to lunch" you explained.

Zuko nodded then captured your lips in a quick kiss. He smiled slightly at you and walked off, probably to his room.

You walked down to the kitchen. The cook simply laughed when you told him that you slept most of the day. However he made you a very lovely fish lunch with some vanilla chai tea. The cook is one of the nicest people on the ship; you've never had a problem with him. Making casual conversation with him was fairly easy.

Afterwards you wandered around, you didn't dare go out on deck, it was raining pretty badly and the wind seemed very strong. Instead you decided to wander around the lower levels of the ship.

You couldn't help but overhear Iroh telling Jee and a few crewmembers that Zuko really isn't that bad.

"Iroh is right" you commented as you came out of the shadows.

"Ah Prince Zuko has told you about himself?" Iroh asked.

You nodded but the crew seemed very skeptical.

You sat down next to Iroh as he told Zuko's story. You listened politely. Personally you liked how Zuko told it, probably because it was more emotional.

"By refusing to fight, Prince Zuko showed weakness and the fire lord gave him the scar to prove it"

"I can't believe it"

"That explains a lot"

"I always thought he got that scar in a training accident" Jee stated completely astonished.

Suddenly the sound of screaming and panic ran through the ship. You, Iroh, Jee and various crewmembers ran onto the deck. The wind and the rain were horrible. The waves tossed the ship as if it were a toy.

You spotted Zuko on the other side of the deck, trying to figure out what was wrong.

"The helmsmen!" Zuko yelled suddenly as he pointed to a man dangling off the ladder to get to the control room. It appeared that the man's grip was slowly slipping. If the man fell, he would die...

Zuko ran to the ladder and began to climb, with Jee on his heels.

"I swear if you fall Zuko, I'll kill you," you mumbled in fear of Zuko getting hurt, if Zuko was going to get hurt it better be from you and not a stupid storm.

As Zuko got close to the helmsmen, the man fell. You closed your eyes. With his quick reflexes, Zuko was able to catch the man by his wrist and lower him down to Jee, who helped him all the way down the ladder.

As Zuko climbed down you walked over to meet him. Jee beat you to him. Zuko and Jee shook hands and Jee stated that he would take all orders without question.

Suddenly lighting stuck a little to close for comfort.

"Kana! Why are you out here?" Zuko asked suddenly, he didn't know you were there till that moment.

"I heard all the panic and came out here with Iroh" you replied.

"Sir! Where would you like us to go?" a crewmember asked urgently.

"We need to get out of this, head for the eye of the storm" zuko yelled so everyone could hear him.

The crew went right to work.

Zuko wrapped his arms around your slender form. You didn't even know you were shivering until you felt how warm Zuko is. Zuko wanted you to go inside but you refused to until he did. So the two of you stood in the wind and the rain in each other's arms as the ship headed towards the eye of the storm.

As the ship got into safer waters, Aang's bison flew over the ship. You knew Zuko saw it.

"Sir the avatar has been spotted, would you like us to follow him?"

"No, keep the ship in safe waters, we'll follow the avatar on a clear day" Zuko ordered

You smiled knowing that Zuko is caring, he only likes to show you, but once in a while he shows the crew that he cares
