"An Announcement by Swift, Miles, Spike, and Edge"
College Dorm Room— Morgantown, WV
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
The author of Sonic Chao Chronicles, Kingdom Rider92 got up from his chair, wondering who was knocking at his door. He certainly wasn't expecting Swift, Miles, Spike, and Edge at his door. Judging by the swirls over their heads, the four Chao were not happy with him.
"You've got some explaining to do," Edge began.
"…Oh crap," Kingdom Rider92 breathed. "I forgot about you guys."
"Yeah, we noticed," Swift commented. "Oh, and our fans have noticed. Kingdom, buddy… this is the second year in a row that you barely updated, this so-called 'apology letter' included. If you have a problem keeping this story alive, either let the fans know this story is dead or ask for someone else to take over. I'm sure people are willing. Heck, ask for help with making an expanded universe, because people want it."
"We know you have a life and you have stories on deviantART and FIMFiction now," Miles recalled, "but between your classes and those other stories, you've neglected us! Considering the fact that this is the longest lived of these stories of yours not including Sonic Arcadia, that's really sad. Especially considering the fact that nobody reads your Profile Page."
"Not to mention you never did that comment special with little old me," Edge spoke up. The other Chao looked at the mouse Chao, question marks over their heads. With a smile as his dot returned to normal, Edge said, "I'm just saying he has a lot of questions to answer for."
"You know, I'm surprised we didn't just go with my original intended plan to beat the crap out of him until he agrees to work on the next couple Chao Chronicles chapters before the year is out," Spike commented. Spike turned to Kingdom Rider92, and asked, "So, what's the problem?"
"Okay, fine!" Kingdom Rider92 sighed. "…To you guys, and my fans, I apologize for not working on Sonic Chao Chronicles. Creating an AU story where we take established characters and alter them is hard. Creating a LIKABLE AU in a controversial fandom is even harder and I'm surprised that people even liked it in the first place to get comments liking it. But that really does not make for much of an excuse, especially with your next chapter Swift. We really should work on that choice—"
"Oh, don't worry," Swift said after a moment. "I've figured out something… I'm not sure Dr. Naka will like it, but I've made it. Just write, and we'll get back to work."
"Thinking on your feet, huh?" Kingdom asked. "…Okay, first off, let me re-read my story to familiarize myself with what I've written. Then, I'll go back to work starting this weekend."
"Don't forget the comments, buddy!" Edge spoke up.
"Then we'll do a big-ass comment special between the five of us," Kingdom promised.
"…That's honestly the best we can get from you, huh?" Miles asked. "Just don't make once-a-year updates a habit, buddy. I know college life keeps you busy, but this is getting annoying and fans are starting to think this story's dead."
"It almost was," the echidna Chao said aloud. "I mean, there's a story with another character with my name in it, but it's a dragon."
"That's his canon name," Kingdom corrected. "Anyways, I'm going to go work on getting back into it."
"You better," Swift said. "Because I really want to get back to fighting Eggman's troops."
"Don't worry buddy," Kingdom set while petting the hedgehog Chao. "You will." This caused a heart to come over Swift's head.
"So, let's review, real quick for the fan's sake," Edge spoke up. "One, this apology letter. Check. Two, we're gonna have you re-read our story so you get nothing wrong. Good, good… then we're gonna actually produce a real chapter by the end of the month and end Episode 10 and start answering comments again in a big comment special. And, hopefully by the end of November start Episode 11 to wrap up this arc. Oh, and for anyone who reads this story and wants to help with an Expanded Universe, please send this crazy son-of-a-gun a private message, as with everything going to happen, this universe is going to need it!"
"Sounds like a plan," Kingdom confessed. "Anyways, I know this doesn't make up for anything… but hopefully it will calm people down."
"By the way," Spike interrupted, "not to be impatient, but didn't you once say you were going to bring Chao Chronicles to deviantART?"
"…Crap, I KNEW I forgot something," Kingdom Rider92 recalled, smacking his forehead. "That, and more Paper Mario: The Land of Harmony."
"This weekend's totally to suck for you, huh?" Swift giggled as Kingdom approached his computer. "Luckily, though, you don't have time to waste on playing Pokémon X and Y since you don't have a 3DS or 2DS yet."
"Yeah, I doubt that I'll get one by the end of the year," Kingdom confessed. "But don't worry, I'll make time for you guys."
"Glad we had this talk," Miles nodded. "Now, hopefully, the fans will have their souls calmed so we can get back to our adventures. Still, you're gonna catch a lot of hell."
"Yeah, I guess I am," Kingdom agreed before Swift ran from the room and Miles flew. "Well, I apologize for the delay, but now that we've had this talk and I'm starting to get back into Sonic, I may as well get started. Kingdom Rider92, out!"
"You really ought to change that name," Spike said before he left the room.
Kingdom Rider92 is BACK!
And hopefully I'll be here to stay. I apologize for this lame excuse for a note and do not blame anyone here for negative hate (if you are going to flame, shoot me a private message), but I plan to make up for it!
