So who is ready to see Krystall be BAD ASS :D
BTW: Serious note here, please be patient with me :) I'm a college student handling two jobs, family, boyfriend, friends, and bills... Also tons of weddings cause almost all of my friends are getting married... And babies cause I babysit.
I will try and get through this as fast as I can while remaining faithful to the plot I had in mind.
Now then...
Alright let's get this show on the road!
Disclaimer blah blah blah disclaimer oh look! A mustache...
The sight in front of me was nothing less than a disaster.
The stadium was on lockdown; a standard procedure put in act for any government building in Haven. It barricades the building, making it near impossible for people to come in or out. The stadium had a metal done covering the usually open spot above the race track. The windows were also barricaded, but not with slabs of steel. They were covered with chains, which could be removed from the inside. This makes it so if anything got on the inside while the city is on lockdown, the people trapped inside can escape.
However, I can tell from here it wasn't much use. Metal Heads clamored on the surface of the stadium, pieces of metal littered the ground, and the doors in the front had large indents in the doors. Obviously from Metal Heads trying to break in.
It was terrifying. But my boys were in there. I needed to get them out.
I'm hiding on my zoomer underneath a bridge in one of the canal's near the stadium. I got out my communicator. I needed to make a call.
"Livy?"
"Precursor's Krystall, are you alright?"
I sighed in relief, "Yeah. Are you? Please tell me you are safe."
"Got picked up by the Underground just in time. I'm at a Safe House right now. Apparently... Well, underground?"
"Good, you'll be safe."
"Where are you Krys?"
"I'm going to be fine."
"That doesn't sound good."
"It's not. I... I just had to make sure you were ok. Before I do something stupid."
"Something stupid? Krys-"
I turn off my communicator right then and there. I didn't have time for a long conversation about how I should not do this. Besides I need my communicator for this part.
I grab my communicator and hold it in my hand, the back of it facing me. Now, these little machines are one of the few things that don't run off of Eco. They run off of a natural element, lithium. Now you may be asking me why I am dinging through this little machine, cutting wires, and rearranging how this thing works. It's very simple; the doors to the stadium are shut in, and I am trying to find a forceful way in.
I close the back of the communicator, and take a deep breath.
Then charge.
I lift my zoomer above the ground and start moving through the streets. Metal Heads notice my activity and start to move towards me. I fly high and fast to ignore them. My eyes only on the door of the stadium, and the communicator in my hand. Once I get close enough to the door, I throw my communicator close to the locked door way, or as close as I can get it. I disengaged most of the functions on it, so that it won't float or make it's way back to me like a boomerang. I slow my zoomer, and lower it to the ground. Behind me I hear the loud snap of Metal Head jaws.
I hope this works... I pray, and then right when the communicator makes contact with the metal door...
BOOM
I manage to miss the debris, and slip through undetected while the Metal Heads got the brunt of the blast.
...Well not entirely undetected?
I crash into the wall on the other side, flying of my zoomer into the main hallway of the Stadium. My body lands with a vicious thud against the ground, I fell heat crawling up my side, probably from some nasty road rash. When my body finally rests on the concreate, I realize I can't hear, and colors mix together. I see swirls of red and orange that I know is fire. My brain, still intact in my skull, moves faster than my body. Fire. Metal Heads. Move.
I get up, surprised that I don't have any broken bones, and get a move on, slowly due to my disorientation. However the sudden bangs against the walls call my attention.
BANG BOOM clang clink BOOM BOOM BOOM
My back hits the wall behind me, adrenaline runs through my veins as my body finally cooperates. I listen to the Metal Heads bang themselves against the walls of the Stadium, eyes wide open as I see the dents plant themselves into the walls. I reach for my pistol only to find it not there... Oh yeah. I gave it away.
Damn.
Instead I grab my rifle, and move towards the elevator.
If the boys were with Ace, then I know they were in his office, in one of the upper floors. That's where I need to go...
Ding
Third Floor... The closest floor to Ace's office.
The elevator only goes to the third floor because that is all that is accessible to the public. Forth floor and above is restricted access; employees, racers, sponsors, and such and such. The rest pf the floors are connected through a stair case that leads to every floor, and is only accessible if you have an issued ID. Which I do.
I take deep breaths as I leave the elevator. Glass liters the floor, so I can guess that the Metal Heads got through here, and presumably the other floors as well. I see blood sprinkled on the floor and walls, as if someone had used their fingers to do it. Lights flashed and flickered in the ceilings, and it seemed like something from a nightmare.
But this was way worse. This was real.
Growling and a snap of jaws grabs my attention. I raise my rifle and move close to the wall, trying to make myself as hidden as possible. I keep my eyes dead a head, and move slowly. My foot hits small shards of glass.
Then suddenly a shadow appears on the wall in front of me.
I sink to the floor, and keep my rifle at eye level, ready to fire at any moment. I watch the shadows of one of the monsters move in front of me, until I see another. They growl and click at each other, and I remain motionless on the floor. It's the best I can do for now. Suddenly, one of them moves, their shadow becoming smaller and less apparent. Before I know it, it's in front of me, looking towards the broken lights in curiosity, and thankfully, not at me. I take this as my chance.
I shoot. The creature falls, and his partner comes running from the corner, expecting to fight some large warrior. Apparently, he didn't notice the tiny girl hiding against the wall. The creature moved right past me.
Lucky, lucky.
I shoot him twice, once at the back, and once at the head. Made it an easy kill. I released a breath I didn't even know I was holding, rise up from my spot and move towards the hall way.
I take a quick look down to make sure there aren't more of them, and thankfully there is not one in sight. I cross the hallway, and I am find myself on the floor wrestling for my life. A Metal Head pounced on me, knocking me to the ground, and tried to claw into my skull. I used my rifle as leverage, and tried to throw him off with no avail. Finally, I use my legs to lift him off my body, and take a shot.
I miss as the Metal Head ducks out of the way and tried to tackle me again. This time, I stabilize myself on one knee, and use the but of my gun to knock him away. While he is on his stomach, I put to bullets in his stomach.
While stabilized, I point my gun down any near by hallways, looking for any kind of threats. As soon as I am done, I get up and race down the hall leading to the stair case. It swings wide open, and I think nothing as I nudge it open.
I was in no way prepared.
Three Metal heads faced away from me, higher up on the stairs, and they in no way noticed me. Their jaws snapped, their tails wagged high in the air. Underneath them was one lonely leg. The other is missing.
A river of blood ran down the staircase.
One looked straight at me. Blood dripped down it's jaw.
I aimed my rifle through tear filled eyes.
Once I got to the fourth floor I vomited.
I couldn't help it. I saw the blood on my shoes, and it just continued. Tears streamed down my face as I held myself up by the wall. I took deep breaths, tried to rid my mouth of the after taste with a few, useless, dry spits. I was here.
I looked around, and place remained untouched besides a few blood covered claw tracks that littered the floor, and turned at the second right down the hall.
To hell with it. I was this close. I march down the hall, and held my gun up. Aimed and ready to fire at any monsters that stood in the way between me and my boys.
I was not expecting this though.
I came face to face with the barrel of another gun.
"Krystall?"
My eyes widen, "Ron..."
"Thank the Precursors," He lowers his weapon and crushes me to him. Water works are now at full throttle, and I have never felt such sweet relief before.
I separate myself from him, "Where are... Are they...?"
"Follow me."
"Krystall, you vixen!"
Ace near tackles me in a hug, his head wrapped with a makeshift bandana, and I can't help but return the favor, "I can't believe you came for us."
"And I can't believe you held down the fort," I reply. To the side of us are Jacobi and Taffy. Taffy kneeling next to him, watching intently. Jacobi is out like a light. His arm wrapped close to him to prevent it from moving, probably broken. Taffy looks the best out of all of them. Just a few scrapes.
Ron closes the exit and comes near us, gun in hand. He has deep cuts on his face, clothes torn, and what appears to be a nasty bite on his ankle, which causes a bit of a hobble.
"I don't know how long this is gonna hold them, boss," Taffy states, "It seems they just keep coming and coming."
"They are surrounding the stadium." I tell them, and Ace's eyes widen.
"How are we gonna get out of here, guys? One guy is knocked out, and the rest of up are beaten up. Including you Krys!"
I wave a hand at him nonchalantly, "I'm fiiiiiiiiiiine." I was ignorant to my wounds since I got in contact with Metal Heads, but slowly they started to burn and pulse with pain.
Ace waves a hand over his office, "You call this fiiiiiiiiiine?"
I shrug, "I'm just happy you are all alive."
"We're happy too," Taffy states blankly, and I can't help nut chuckle.
"Still getting out of here..."
"Don't suppose you have an extraction plan Krystall?"
"Not really," but I still smile, "We can create one though. You guys have your communicators on you?"
Jak skids to a stop at the steps of the stadium, and Daxter clutched his shoulder tightly as they observed the mess ahead of them.
A dying fire marked the entrance of the stadium, debris littered the ground below it, and the grounds were crawling with Metal Heads...
"JAK!"
Jak raised the zoomer to the higher lane to keep himself away from the Metal Heads below. He scanned for any possible sign of life. He had gotten back to the Underground to tell Torn of the situation. How the Metal Heads got in through an old Underpart tunnel. How Krew betrayed sig, and left him for dead. How Sig truly died.
However, he was interrupted by an hysterical Oliva. Telling Jack how Krystall was doing something stupid. Torn then filled him in. She had went to the Stadium to get her racing crew somewhere safe. Torn told Jak that it was likely no one was in there, and Krystall was wasting her time, and possibly her life.
Jak could now see why. This place looked so desolate compared to the once lively section of the City he had come to love.
"Jak... We need to go in there..."
"I know Dax," Jak growled, "But we don-"
Suddenly part of the Stadium wall exploded. More debris flew, along with nearby Metal Heads, now dying from the explosion. Fire blazed along the walls, scaring Metal Heads away. Jak noticed a small figure emerge from the flames. A man, close to his age, soon followed two arms linked, and carrying a third. A few more ran out of the flames, aiming small weapons into the flames.
The final figure emerged. One that Jak recognized.
"KRYS!"
Now I will stop right there :) Hope you enjoyed it! I most likely will go back and improve the scenes a bit more, maybe add more dialogue, but at least I got it out. Thank you for your patience!
