AN: First of all, let me begin this by saying I AM SO TERRIBLY SORRY! WHAT KIND OF AUTHOR AM I? AUGUST 6th! AUGUST DAMNED 6th WAS THE LAST TIME I UPDATED THIS!
I know it's just a crackpot, overused excuse, but I am so serious when I say that life just happened. I swear the next update won't be 93 days from now! (Like I truly feel so bad)
Also, for some reason I just couldn't get the words out for this chapter. I wasn't happy with the story and where it was going and how it was just dragging alone (quite like this AN), but I will try to write even a little bit everyday.
I'm also really sorry that this chapter isn't very long. (So many apologies)
Anyways, sorry again,
Enjoy the read (even though it's short),
And I will try to update you all again much, much sooner!

"Link, if a piece of the Shadow Stone is embedded within you then we have to go back to Hyrule!" Midna said her eyes still wide in disbelief.
Link whimpered. He couldn't go back!
"What use would you be as a little wolfy in the Otherworld? You definitely wouldn't be able to save your princess from Ghirahim or Ganondorf…" She taunted, grinning mischievously.
Link growled at the imp. How could she possibly know all of that?
"How do I know? They passed through this realm on their way to the Otherworld."
Link looked at her, unsure of what he should be thinking.
"Just trust me, beast, you are useless to your princess as a wolf. You need that Shadow Stone removed and only those in Hyrule can do so. Once we are there and you are a human once again, I should be able to open up a Portal back to this realm, and with any luck, I could bypass it entirely and rip open the entrance to the Otherworld."
Rip open? Link barked, he did not think that seemed like a sound plan.
"Are you worried?"
Link nodded.
"I admit that I wouldn't know how to re-close the Portal, but it would bring you closer to your princess much faster."
Link barked over and over. He could not risk the lives of the Hylians just for himself!
"No? Don't like that plan?" She asked. Link continued to bark. "Be quiet! If we're discovered there will be a lot of trouble. Now, we have to make it to the Portal back into Hyrule. From there I know where we must go. So long as you're in wolf-form, I can open up smaller Portals within Hyrule to warp to different locations. Once we're ready to come back here, we'll have to take this route again; I refer to it as the long way. But we will get to the Otherworld eventually, don't you worry about that," Midna informed.
How did Midna know so much about Hyrule? Link nodded and took off before Midna could pounce on his back. Besides, she still had to collect his clothes and sword. No less than a minute went by and Midna hopped on his back.
"Nice try," she said, a smile in her voice. "Now just head for the Portal," Midna instructed, "I retrieved your things."
Link let out an excited bark and ran harder, his four legs much faster and practical than he would have ever imagined as a human. One thing he knew was certain: despite all that he didn't know about this Midna character, she was going to help him and he would use that to his advantage as much as he could, even if it meant repaying the offer somehow. That's all he could really give: help for help.
"This way," Midna instructed, tugging at his fur in an attempt to turn him. Link yelped, and shook to try to dislodge her grip, but she only held on tighter. He stopped his fit and growled, slowly continuing on the way that Midna had instructed. "Sorry," she mumbled.
They quickly reached the Portal and Midna leapt off his back and into the air. He wondered how she was able to just float around like that; wondered what sorts of magic she possessed. He wondered about her form more than anything though: what was she?
"Link, I am going to pull us both through the Portal. We here in the Twilight Realm refer to Hyrule as the Light Realm sometimes. So long as you are a beast, I will be able to be in this form because you as a wolf is your Twilight form… I'm not sure why it works like this, but it does… When you are returned to a Being of Light, I will still be with you, but I will have to hide within your shadow," Midna said, taking a deep breath. "So are you ready?" She asked, turning towards Link. He nodded at her.
The only thing Link could really recall was his body being dissolved into a million tiny fragments, but there was no pain, and then suddenly being put back together as he was blinded by the sun of Hyrule. He barked, getting Midna's attention.
"Head to the nearest Spirit's Spring," she instructed. "You should be in Faron Province," Midna mumbled as she looked around at the trees surrounding them. Link took off. Last time he had been in Faron… Everything had become such a crazy mess. He did not want to remember just how quickly and drastically his life had changed.
He headed north, and surprising himself, found what Midna had referred to as the 'Spirit's Spring' quite easily. He slowed his pace and approached the clear, babbling water. As he entered it, warmth filled his entire being. He felt safe, he felt at peace, and he felt as though all the knowledge of Hyrule was passing through his very being; the light itself making a home inside his body. A great circle of white light suddenly appeared before Link, engulfing him. It took over everything, Link's body fighting the great impulse of the purity and good that was the Light.
Link opened his eyes to see a great Being composed entirely of the Light that had overtaken his body before him. He stared in awe at the magnificent creature. It had the body of a monkey, the tail of a squirrel – though not as bushy – that ended with the tip of a scorpion.
"My name is Faron," the deity spoke, it's voice ethereal. "I am one of the spirits of light who dwell in Hyrule. I use the life force of the gods to protect this forest. O brave youth… In the realm of the Twilight, where its own people have become beasts, you were transformed into a blue-eyed beast… That was a sign… It was a sign that the powers of the chosen one rest within you…and that they are awakening. Look at your awakened form," Faron instructed. Link looked at himself, surprised to see that he was now standing on his two human legs. He hadn't even noticed his transformation back to a human! "The power of the ancient hero chosen by the gods is yours now. His is the true power that slept within you. Your name is Link. You are the hero chosen by the gods." Faron said. Link felt breathless.
Yes, the Master Sword had accepted him and yes, his precious Zelda had assumed as much… But to hear the words from a creature of the gods themselves? Link looked up at Faron.
"Brave Link," the otherworldly voice continued, "A dark power has awoken in the realms alongside Hyrule. It is a forbidden power. Long, long ago, I and the other spirits of light locked it away, sealed it in the Otherworld. Know that it was found, and it was used. But it is a power that can never be touched by a being of Light. However, this world weeps beneath a mantle of shadows and so there is no other choice… You must match the power of the king of shadows; only you are able to combat him. If you seek the Princess, then you must enter a forbidden realm. I will open the Portal to this realm once and only once before sealing it off," Faron said, his form slowly dissipating, in his place leaving a spiralling hole. Link gulped and walked towards it, the darkness swallowing him whole.
