Kurogane had no idea he had been crying as he had clutched on to the mage's limp body that hung in his arms like a rag doll as they finally landed in a new world. There was a tiny village in the distance, surrounded by sparkling trees with leaves that glistened like glass. The princess was making sounds of distress as she looked at the dying magician, Kurogane feeling the life seep out of the man's body with the blood that now stained both their clothes and the ground below.
Suddenly, soft fingers were prying away his hands and the mage was being taken from him. He found himself looking into the face of a woman that resembled Tomoyo just a little, but her eyes and hair were wrong. Her eyes were a strange shade of brown- something similar to the kid's- and her dark hair was streaked with strands of crimson.
"H-He's going to die…" he cried openly, unashamed of the weakness he was showing this stranger. Fai was dying because he had tried to save Tomoyo. The effort he spent on casting the spell to send Tomoyo away had cost him his life.
"We will save him." The woman said with a smile that resembled the mage's though she was turning away from him only the next second, barking orders at the five men that had come with her. The men had helped the group of travelers to the tiny village of Tiare where they had all been offered shelter in the amber-eyed woman's home. He had refused to leave Fai's side, spending the time silently slumped against the wall of the room she was treating the magician in, silently watching her come and go and try various spells on the man and pour potions down his throat at regular intervals.
It was only when two days had gone by and Kurogane had not slept a wink that the woman finally forced him to sleep in the next room, promising to take care of the blond for him while he slept. The woman was to the mage what Tomoyo was to him. They had all landed in the magician's home world, Celes, in the village where his apprentice resided. That night the princess came to visit the ninja, silently handing over a pearl-white feather, claiming it was a piece that had emerged when his mother had disintegrated into dust. The feather was absorbed by his body, showing the ninja the truth about how his family had died and how…that bastard had tricked Kurogane into becoming his loyal pawn.
The princess promised to help him avenge his parents, claiming there was something the man had taken from her as well. He was grateful for her support, even if they both knew the princess would never be able to take another living being's life, no matter their crime. But it was the thought that counted and he was glad that despite everything he had done, she was still willing to help him.
