CHAPTER 29
"All rise!" The sound of a guard echoes through the silent court room as the judge enters through the metal doors behind the stands. The gang all feel an eery sense of deja vu, none of the spectators wanted to re-hear the horrors heard only 48 hours ago; and the victims certainly didn't want to re-live their nightmares... But it had to be done.
"We are gathered here today to hear the fate for trial # 77894, the defendant being one Beck Oliver. I am going to cut to the chase today; jury... How do you find the defendent in regards to 7 count of accused rape?"
One finely dressed young woman stood from amongst the jury stand and looked towards the victims, the families and the public.
"Guilty!"
The members of the courtroom all sighed in relief; except the judge, who remained calm and composed.
"And how do you find the defendent in regards to the one count of attempted rape?"
The young woman looked at an elder sitting beside her whom nodded before she turned back to the people. Jade and Tori had their hands entwined together, squeezing as much love and support into the simple show of affection.
"Guilty."
Again, the people within the courtroom sighed in relief... Except Beck, who just yelling and cussing at the young women within the stands who now look like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders.
"Please silence Mr Oliver. Now, as you have been found guilty for 7 counts of rape and one attempt, I am sentencing you to 15 years in prison with no possibility of being released early. When your 15 years are up; you will be on parole for the rest of your life. Do you understand?"
Beck nods.
"Visitors; you're free to go and enjoy your day. Guards; please escort Mr Oliver to the van waiting to take him to jail. You're dismissed." And with bang of the gavel, the judge was leaving through the doors behind her, with the tail of the same robe as 48 hous prior following.
The gang just sat and smiled, watching everyone leave the court. Jade and Tori were watching Beck, and they noticed something. His piercing eyes were staring right at them and he looked like the devil with his evil gleam. Before he was escorted away, he shouted to his ex and final victim...
"I'll see you in 15 years Jade, and Tori, I'll see you in your dreams."
Tori let go of Jade's hand, walked down the steps to the gate and stared into the criminals eyes and smirked.
"No I won't, you're going to be some cell mates bitch... I'm going to be living my life better than I would have without you. See you in hell, Beck."
She walked back over to Jade, who was now waiting at the door, and pulled her into a hot, steamy kiss and showed Beck what he won't be getting anytime soon.
When Jade lost her breath, she pulled away and smiled, "Let's go home, BBQ at ours."
"Sounds good."
And they left, the memories of that day becoming exactly what they were... Memories.
¬ A week later ¬
Dear Parents/Guardians of Hollywood Art student(s),
As you may be aware, your child(ren) recently attended their exams. Encosed in this envelope are the results for:
Miss Jadelyn A. West
Miss Victoria J. Vega
I hope you have achieved what you aimed for and I hope to see you after the 2 week half term.
Best Wishes,
Mr. J Walters.
(Newly appointed principal)
Jade passed Tori her results sheet before opening the folded paper and reading the results at the same time...
Miss Victoria J. Vega receive 8 A+ grades, 1 A and one B grade. Miss Jadelyn A. West received 7 A+ grades and 3 A grades.
Needless to say, they celebrated twice that day, about both their results and Becks inprisonment. They celebrated once with all their friends, laughing and joking about everything. And once (well... four times) alone in their bed late into the night.
AN THIS IS IT. The present tense is complete. Done. I am going to write a future tense chapter (probably tomorrow) but I just want to feel proud of myself for completing this.
I posted the first chapter on 25th May so it has taken just over 7 months for me to write this so I'd like to thank you all for reviewing and sticking with me through it. I know the storyline wasn't cheery and fluffy but I tried making it as realistic as possible without mentally scaring you all.
I do have a couple of confessions to make though; this is based off my real life situation however I wasn't given the chance to leave like Tori and I wasn't given the opportunity to watch the bastard who ruined me get sent to jail.
I wrote this story to help me find a ground where I could write my life in a way where I could change it and re-write anything I didn't like and I think I have. I could have made the victims statements make you all feel sick to your stomachs but then I'd have had to change the genre to horror and I don't like horror.
The therapist, Moira, is based off a real person, well she is real - her job, name, occupation... all real in my life... Except in this story she isn't an ass (she is in reality).
Someone has told me, many times throughout the past 9 months, that it wasn't my fault. And, on occassion, I believe her but other times not so much. But without her patience and support, I highly doubt this story would have been made because I wouldn't have been around to write it. I can never thank her enough for saving my sanity and listening to me everytime I have my nightmares but I shall keep thanking her as long as she is around to remind me it isn't my fault.
Now, I realise my AN is longer than the chapter but I needed to say it I guess. My AN prior to today was just going to be:
Thank you for reading this story and sticking with it, love you guys.
So let's stick to that.
Peace xx
