Percy and the Kids

Percy's POV...

"I got four tickets to the Chargers game on Sunday and I'm going to bring my boys," I said to Matt, my friend on the base.

He smiled. "That is awesome. Are you sure Annabeth is okay with it?" He asked. Matt and his wife know me and Annabeth. We have had cookouts and couple dates together.

I waved him off. "Annabeth will be okay about it. She can spend the day with the girls, doing girls things." Matt shook his head and slapped me on the back.

"Have fun and take pictures," Matt moved away from my desk and left my office. I looked at the tickets one more time before I put them away. I got back to work.

Later I got home to find the kids playing outside. I went to find Annabeth, she was in the kitchen working on dinner. I place a kiss on her lips. I pull the tickets out and show her. She gives me a look.

"I only see four here," She said.

"Yeah, I taking the boys with me," I smiled. "We'll have a guy's day there."

"What about your daughters?" She asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I figure that you could do something with girls that day," I said. Annabeth only shakes her head. I make nothing of it as I out the tickets away. I couldn't wait to tell the boys that we were going. They are going to enjoy it.

I told the boys as we were getting ready for bed that night. Danny and Jake couldn't wait for it to happen. Chris didn't understand to well but I knew that he was excited because I was. I went to sleep with a smile on my face. I couldn't wait to go.

That Sunday I got the boys up early and making sure that they had their Chargers gear on. I got everything ready for us. I was about to load up the car when I saw Zoe on the steps. She was rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

"Daddy, why can't I go with you?" She asked.

I scratch my head. What was I going to tell her? I gave her a smile. "Because I don't have enough tickets," I said.

I saw the hurt on her face. I didn't know what else to say. "Okay," She said. I could hear the hurt in her voice.

"Come on, Zoe," I see Annabeth behind her. "Let's go back to bed." Annabeth gives me a look before leading Zoe back to her room. I shook Zoe's sad face out of my mind before telling the boys to get in the car.

I buckled Chris in the car, while Danny and Jake get in their seats. I get in and turn to the boys. "Are we ready?" I asked.

"Yeah," The boys said. I drive out of the driveway and head for the stadium.

It wasn't that hard to find a parking spot. I got the boys out and made sure that I had the diaper bag. I took them in the stadium. I loved watching their faces as we entered. They saw guys that had painted their faces and bodies.

"Dad, can we do that next time?" Jake asked. He saw someone with a lightning bolt across their face.

"Maybe," I said as I stirred his head in line behind Danny, who was already there. I showed my tickets and they scanned them before letting us in. I took the boys to our seats.

The seats weren't the greatest but that didn't matter to the boys. They looked down and saw the whole field. They were doing something on the field. That made the boys watch it. I took my seat and smiled as I watched their faces. I was glad that I could do this with my boys.

As it got closer to the game the player came out and Jake and Danny stood up to watch. Two players from each team came to the center of the field for the coin toss. We got the ball. The game started. The boys watched the game and couldn't take their eyes off the game. They cheered for the team when something good happen and moaned when something bad happen.

"Come on, you should have caught that," Jake yelled at the Charger's receivers. It was a perfect throw and I understand where he was coming from. It should have been caught.

At some point I made sure that they got some hotdog and fries in them. Chris only ate half of his. I think that I finished his hotdog. The game ended with us winning. The boys were happy about that. I got them out of the stadium and to the van, somehow. Jake wanted to talk of every play and Danny thought that he wanted to play football. Chris just let out a yawn as I put him in his car seat. I waited to pull out so I turned to the boys.

"I have one more surprised for you," I smiled at them.

"What?" Jake asked.

"You'll just have to see." I pulled out of our spot and followed the other cars out of the parking lot. I drove for about an hour before we came to our spot. It was mostly empty.

"The beach," Jake said. I nodded. All off my kids have a natural taking to the water. It might have something to do with their grandfather being the god of the sea.

"Yes, but you have to change in your swim trucks. They boys nodded and started to get out of the car. I was about to get out when I heard my phone going off. I saw it was Annabeth. I didn't pick it up and let it ring. I got out of the car and went with the boys to change.

Danny and Jake went right for the water and jumped in. They both started to swim. Chris was hanging on my pant leg. I picked him up. "You really buddy," He nodded. I ran to the water with the boys. They had a blast in the water. It was getting dark when I decide it was time to go home. I had to drag them back to the van. I saw that I had many calls and texts from Annabeth. Chris fell asleep right away. Jake tried to stay up but he fell asleep too. Danny probably thought that he was too big to sleep so he stayed up until we got home. Before we got home I made sure they got food in their bellies.

It was dark when I pulled in the driveway. The pouch light was on which was a good thing. Jake and Danny got out of the van right away. I got Chris out and headed for the house. The door was locked. I got a little nervous that Annabeth had changed the locks on me. She didn't when I opened the door. The house was dark. I took the boys to their room and made sure that they got in their pajamas and brushed their teeth. They all went to sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow.

I smiled as I went to my room. I found it locked. Annabeth or I never lock the door. I knocked on the door, trying not to wake any of the kids. The door opened and a pillow and blanket hit my face. Before I could say anything the closed again and I heard the lock turned.

I knocked on the door again. "Annabeth let me in the room," I said to the door.

"No, I'm mad at you and if you come in this room might kill you. Go and sleep somewhere else."

"Annabeth," I moaned.

"Percy go away," It sounded like she had a lump in her throat. I thought it was best to leave. I turned to the stairs to head downstairs. I saw Jake standing there like he was going to the bathroom.

"Dad, you can sleep in my room," He said. He looked worried about something.

I give him a smile. "No," He nodded and went back to his room. I head downstairs to the family room. I look at the couch and moan. I don't want to sleep there. I thought about the guest room in the basement. That might be a good idea. I head for the basement and to a bed.

I strip down to my boxers and crawl in bed. I folded my hands behind my head and look at the ceiling. Annabeth was mad about something and I had to figure it out or my life is going to be a living hell. It was a nice day with the boys, maybe it had something to do with all the calls and texts that Annabeth sent me. I didn't answer any of them. But there were times that I didn't answer them before and she didn't get this mad at me. I could feel sleep coming so I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

"Dad," I opened one eye to see Jake standing in front of me. I look at the clock that was next to the bed. It read 4:32 a.m. I sat up in the bed.

"Jake, what are you doing up?" I asked.

"I couldn't sleep because of you and mom," He said.

"What about me and mom?" I asked. Something was bothering him.

"Are you and mom going to get a divorce?" He asked. I sighed this was coming from somewhere that I didn't know.

"Where did this come from?" I asked.

"Bobby at school, parents got a divorce and now he only sees his dad every other weekend. I don't want to see you every other weekend." Tears came to his eyes.

I sighed. "Jake, your mother and I are not getting a divorce. Your mom is just mad at me. There is nothing to worry about. Your mother and I love each other very much and have been through a lot together." I pull him into a hug and kiss the side of his head. "Go back to bed." He nodded and left. I watched as he went back upstairs to his room.

I closed my eyes again and try to get some sleep before I have to get up and go to work.

I woke to my alarm on my watch going off. I turned it off and got out of bed. I picked up my clothes and headed upstairs. I saw that Annabeth was up and making breakfast for the kids. She threw me a look and I thought it best to head upstairs to our room.

I showered and grabbed an apple before leaving. I could tell that Annabeth was mad at me and it was best to stay out of her way until she came to me. I said goodbye to the kids before I left. I drove to McDonald's and got some food before work.

"So how was the game?" Matt asked as I got in. I threw the McDonald's bag away before I answered. He lifted one eyebrow when he saw the bag. I didn't say anything to him about the bag.

"The game was awesome. The boys had a great time. Took them to the beach afterwards and that was fun too. The only down part is Annabeth is mad at me for reason and she won't tell me why." I headed for my office.

I saw Matt shake his head at me. "Maybe you should kiss some ass," He stopped outside of my office. I nodded. He is probably right.

"I probably will for awhile a least." I said.

"Good luck," Matt said before leaving.

I closed my door and headed for the phone on my desk. I called the flower shop that I normally do when I want to send flowers to Annabeth. I had them send flowers to her. I went to work. I would glance at my phone to see if Annabeth texted me about the flowers but there was nothing by lunch and I know that the flowers were delivered. At lunch I sent her a text asking if she got the flowers and I got no responds. I sent another text saying I was sorry and still there was nothing. I finished work and headed home.

I was nervous about what she was going to do to me. I pulled in the drive to see that the kids were home from school. I got out of the car and headed for the door. I open the door and was glad that it wasn't locked. I saw Danny and Emily sitting in the living room, doing homework together. Danny looked up and nodded towards the kitchen. Annabeth must be in there. I nodded and headed upstairs to change. I thought that staying upstairs might be a good thing but I was brave and had dealt with an angry Annabeth before. I have known her forever, nothing is wrong.

I made my way downstairs to the kitchen to see that Annabeth was putting the finish touches on dinner. She didn't look up when I came in. I knew that she knew it was me that walked. I stuffed my hands in my pocket before I spoke to her.

"Annabeth, I'm sorry," I said. She didn't look up at me.

I heard her sigh. "Percy, do you even know why I'm mad at you."

I thought long and hard but nothing came to me. I shook my head but then I remember that she wasn't looking at me. "No."

She looked up at me and was about to say something when we heard someone coming in. "We'll talk about it later." She looked over me. "Yes, Zoe," She said. I turned around to see Zoe standing there with a secret smile on her face. It remind me of Annabeth when we were younger. I had to scare my head because sometimes Zoe and Eliza remind me so much of their mother that I had to make sure that I was their father.

"Can I invite Mark Graham over on Saturday?" Zoe smiled.

"Sure," Annabeth said.

"Thanks, Mom," Zoe ran from the room. When did my daughter ask to bring boys over to my house? She was only ten. She shouldn't be thinking about boys. She was my little girl and I was the only man she should be thinking about.

Annabeth shoved something in my hands. "Stop thinking about," I looked down to see seven plates in my hands. I gave her a look and she just smiled. She liked me a little bit right now.

At dinner I kept on looking at the girls to see that they were going to grow into women like their mother. I could tell that they were going to be strong. I didn't want them to grow up but they were. They were going to bring boys home and one of those boys are going to take them away from me. I could tell that Annabeth was watching me. I looked from them to the boys and knew that they were going to grow up and leave home too. I looked across at Annabeth, who had turned away from me to answer a question that Chris had. She looked up at me with a look like she knew what I was thinking.

After dinner and the kids were in their room, either sleeping or getting ready to sleep, I went to try my bedroom door to see if Annabeth locked it. It wasn't locked. Annabeth was lying on the bed, reading a book. She looked over to see that it was me. I closed the door behind me. If she killed me tonight I hope that the kids know that I love them very much. Annabeth placed a bookmark in her book and set it on the nightstand next to the bed.

I stood in front of the bed with my hands in my pockets, I felt like one of the kids standing in front of us when we were in trouble. "Percy, you want to know why I'm so mad at you for," I nodded. I thought it best not to say something. "You took the boys to the football game and didn't think that our daughters might want to go, than you kept the boys out all day before school." She crossed her arms.

"I didn't think that the girls would want to go," I said. It sounded like a stupid excuse.

"You know what they did," I shook my head. "They turned on the game to see if they could get a look of you or the boys." I felt bad. "Percy, remember that we have five kids not just three boys." I nodded.

"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to them," Annabeth gave me a look. I knew that she wasn't mad at me anymore. I crawled on the bed and towards her.

"Are you still mad at me?" I asked. I was close to her face. She shook her head. I leaned down and kissed her.

She broke the kiss. "You know that I can't stay mad at you forever." I kissed her again. I broke the kiss and flopped over on the bed next to her. Annabeth picked up her book again.

Before Annabeth could start reading, I asked. "When did Zoe find out about boys?"

Annabeth laughed before kissing me. "Not that long ago."

I crossed my arms and frown. "I don't like it," Annabeth laughed. I don't know what it was but I didn't like it. I place my hands behind my head. I remember when the girls were two little bundles that we brought home. I watched them laugh for the first time, saw them take their first step. I remember Zoe and Eliza thinking boys were gross. We were sitting in the backyard catching fireflies.

I was sitting there watching them play as Annabeth was dealing with work. The boys decide it was time to pick on their sisters.

"Daddy," Zoe said. I looked up to see that Jake was ready to put something down his sister's shirt.

"Jake," I said with some warning in my voice. He dropped whatever he had in his hand and ran away. I saw that he made his way to where Danny was. Zoe came and sat next to me after she caught a firefly. She leaned her head on my shoulder. Eliza came and sat next to us with her own firefly. I wrapped my arms around my two girls.

"Daddy, why are boys gross?" Zoe asked.

I wanted to laugh but just smiled. "Because they are," I didn't know what to say to her. I was a boy and I had a feeling that I grossed out my mom and Annabeth sometimes.

"Daddy, why aren't you gross?" Eliza asked.

I had a feeling that Annabeth would be saying something different but then we've been married a long time. "Because…" I was trying to think of something to say but nothing came. Before I could Zoe said something.

"Because he is Daddy and Daddies are not gross," She looked up at me with her grey eyes before going back to her firefly. "Boys are gross except Daddies." Eliza nodded like she was agreeing with her sister. I kissed the top of their heads with a smile. I didn't want them to grow up and figure out that boys weren't as gross as they think.

"I'm taking the girls out next weekend," I said. I didn't have to look at Annabeth to know that she was smiling at me. I reached over and took the book out of hand.

"Hey," She smiled. I put the book on the side table.

"I think that I still have to make it up to their mother," I kissed the side of her neck.

"I think you are right," I smiled as I pulled her down and closer to me. I spent the rest of the night making it up to her.

I decide to take the girls to a baseball game and then take them out for ice cream. Annabeth was happy about that. The girls couldn't wait to go. Zoe borrowed a baseball glove from Danny. She wanted to catch a ball. I kissed Annabeth goodbye before getting the girls in the car. The girls couldn't stop talking about how much fun they were going to have at the game. I couldn't hid the smile on my face.

We pulled into the parking lot, the girls got out right away and looked up that the stadium. I grabbed the bag that we were bringing with us. I made sure that I had the tickets in my pocket before saying. "Take my hand," I held out each of my hands for the girls take. We made our way to the stadium with Zoe asking about what teams were playing. I told her that the San Diego were playing the Milwaukee Brewers. After that she started to ask where Milwaukee was because she never heard of it. I told her that it was somewhere in the Midwest. She nodded.

I was so glad when we got to the door. I showed them our tickets and we enter the place. The girls' eyes were wide opened as they took everything in. I had to pull them away so we could find our seats. We went up to our sections. The girls couldn't wait until they saw the field. I dragged them to the hot dog stand and order three hog dog with fries and three sodas. I had a feeling that Annabeth wouldn't like what they were having but I didn't care. The girls were glad that they got to put ketchup and mustard on their hot dogs. I could already see the mess that they were going to make so I made sure to grab a lot of napkins.

We found our seats, I sat between the girls. I set their sodas in the cup holders in front of them. I was ready to eat my hot dog but the girls wouldn't sit still. Their hot dogs were going everywhere, I was afraid that they were going to drop it in the person in front of us. He didn't look very nice and I really didn't want to get in a fight with anyone. "Girls please take a seat to eat your hot dogs," The girls gave me a look with their grey eyes, it reminded me so much of their mother, but they did sit.

They finished their hot dogs before the game started. They stood up again to watch the game. Zoe had her glove ready to catch the ball. I wanted to tell her that she probably won't catch a ball but I couldn't take her smile away.

It was the sixth inning and Padres were behind up two runs when the batter hit the ball and the ball went flying and it landed right in Zoe's glove. The ball was a foul but that didn't matter to Zoe. She got the ball and was happy about that. Eliza smiled at her sister.

"I can't wait until we show the boys," Eliza said.

"I know right," Zoe said. They were standing right in front of me.

"Maybe we can get it autograph," I said. The girls' eyes widen.

"Really," Zoe said. I nodded.

"But first we have to finish the game," I said. The girls nodded and sat down in their chairs.

"How much longer, Daddy?" Zoe asked.

"Two more innings," I said. She nodded.

After the game we ran down to the field before the team was gone. I got the player who hit the ball to sign the ball. He put Zoe's name on the ball with his name. I thanked him and he winked at me. Zoe couldn't stop staring at the ball as we made our way to the car. I had to stare her from running into people. There was one more place I wanted to go with the girls before heading home.

We stopped at an ice place. I let the girls order whatever they wanted. I just got a small cone. We found a seat outside, the girls started talking at once while eating their ice cream. I knew soon that they would grow up and be gone, living a different life.

"Eliza, Zoe," I said. They both looked up at me with those grey eyes that they got from their mother. They looked so much like Annabeth and I knew there were going beauties and I hoped that they used that mind that was in their head. "One day, you are going to grow up and there are going to be boys but I want you know that I am here for when you need me."

Eliza looked at me. "Daddy, you are our hero and we'll always need you," She said it like she was grown up already. I closed my eyes because that was going to chance one day. I wasn't going to be hero, it is going to be that boy who is going to steal their hearts and their hands that is going to be their hero.

"We love you, Daddy," Zoe said. They left their ice creams and came to hug me. I wrapped my arms around them.

"I love you, too." I kissed the side of their heads. I held on to them tight. I don't know when they will let me hold them like this again. I let them go. "Finish your ice creams." I pushed them towards their melting ice creams. They smiled at me before finishing their ice creams.

Later that night, I laid in bed with Annabeth, she was reading something from work. I had my arms behind my head and was staring at the ceiling. I knew that the boys were jealous of the girls about the signed baseball but I was glad that I got spend time with them. Danny was growing up and soon will be in high school. The girls were going to start middle school soon. We were trying to keep Jake out of trouble. Chris will be starting school soon. They were all growing up. "When did they start growing up?" I said out loud.

Annabeth turned to look at me and smiled. "The moment we turned away and look back to see that they are another year older and an inch taller."

I smiled. "Do you remember when we brought them home?" Annabeth nodded.

"Each one of them. They needed us for everything but as they grow up they don't need us as much." Annabeth said.

"They still need us for money," I said. Annabeth hit me. She leaned down and kissed me. "We could always have another one," I said. Annabeth gave me a look.

"No," She just said the one word. "The next baby you are going to hold is your first grandchild," She turned away from me.

I leaned up and kissed the back of her neck. "I think that we need to practice," I would say that to her before we were married with kids. Annabeth give me a look.

"I think we had enough practice," She put down the paper that she was holding. "But I don't think it was perfect," She had a challenging look on her eyes. I just reached for her and kissed her on the lips.

A/N: I'm sorry for the long update. I started school this fall so I haven't had time to write. Thank you for being patient with me. -sjt
