A/N- Here's the long awaited final chapter of The Two Towers! Thank you all for your patience with me. I won't be starting on posting anything from Return of the King until after the Holidays. I'm so sorry you have to wait so long, but thank you all for your continued reading of my story and all the others I have posted. As we all know, I don't own Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, but why let that stop us from playing with the characters?

Chapter 29

Holding the Defenses

Mya stood next to Gimli on the archway, watching as the Orc army marched up. Legolas stood on the other side of the Dwarf, who was struggling to see what was going on, asking Legolas or Mya every few minutes to describe the scene. Finally Legolas had had enough.

"Would you like me to describe it to you," He asked the Dwarf, "or would you like me to find you a box?" Gimli looked at him for a moment, while Mya stiffled her giggle, before laughing. Aragorn came up behind them for a few moments, exchanging words of encouragement before he moved on, leaving the three to their own thoughts. Mya caught Haldir, looking aloof and undisturbed, watching the Orcs with a careful eye.

"Well," Gimli said. "At least it's not raining." At that moment, thunder cracked and rain started pouring down.

"You were saying?" Mya asked him, smirking slightly and watching the army. Gimli just grunted and didn't answer her.

All too soon the battle started, and Mya found herself fighting harder than she had ever fought in her life. She dimly heard Gimli and Legolas keeping count of her kills, while she counted her own. She was lost in her own world of death and destruction when the wall she'd been standing on exploded, sending her flying.

She was slightly stunned, but not unconscious as she watched the Orcs stream into the keep. She felt anger wash over her as her magic started to flow unchecked in a wave of fire. Her sword flashed in the light of her fire as she lost count of her kills. Dimly, she heard Aragorn yelling for them to fall back. She threw up a magical wall and pushed the Orcs away from her and turned to run to the keep. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Haldir being outnumbered by too many Orcs and went to his aid. She heard Legolas scream her name and turned in time to block a killing blow from what looked like a Man.

"Stupid Elvish bitch," the man hissed as she stabbed her knife in his gut, disembowling and killing him. She turned back to Haldir to see an Orc behind him with an axe.

"Stupify!" She yelled, knocking the Orc away from her friend and over the edge of the wall. She ran up to him and placed her hand on his chest. "Are you unharmed?"

"I'm fine, Mya. Thank you." Haldir said, "what was Aragorn saying?"

"Fall back to the Keep." Mya answered him, "come on, you're injured, let's get that looked at."

"I said I'm fine, Mya." Haldir insisted, but faltered under her glare. "Did anyone tell you that you can be as scary as your grandmother when you glare like that?" Mya grinned at him, slightly ferally and helped him into the Keep. When she got there, she looked for Legolas. He wasn't there yet.

Theoden was sitting in the middle of the room, seemingly in shock and ignoring everyone in the room. Aragorn and Gimli came in, followed by Legolas. He scanned the room and locked eyes with Mya, who was tending to Haldir's wound. Aragorn walked over to the king and asked if there was another way out of the caves. Theoden didn't answer, so another one of his men did. Aragorn said to send word to the women to make for the pass. Haldir volunteered to go, as he was too injured to fight anymore. Theoden then started talking about the reckless hate and anger, wondering what Men could do against it. Aragorn talked him into riding out and meeting it head on. It was then that they noticed the sun was rising on the fifth day and Aragorn knew Gandalf would be out there with help.

They all mounted their horses, including Mya, much to Legolas's dislike. Gimli ran up the stairs to where the horn of Helm Hammerhead was and blew as the last of the Men and Elves rode out to face the oncoming slaughter of the People of Rohan.

Gandalf was at the top of the ridge with Eomer and his men and they charged into battle, slaughtering as many Orcs as they could. The Orcs retreated right into a forest that hadn't been there before. Some men made to follow them but for Gandalf's warning to stay out of the trees. Soon, a sound of screams started coming from the trees and the Elves all looked on in terror. Soon, all was over and Legolas and Gimli were settling their count.

"Final count," Legolas said, stroking his bow. "Forty seven."

"Forty seven?" Gimli asked Legolas nodded. "That's pretty good for a pointy-eared Elven Princling. I am sitting pretty on forty-eight." Legolas glared at Gimli before shooting an arrow in between the Dwarf's legs.

"Forty-eight." Legolas said, smugly.

"But he was already dead!" Gimli exclaimed.

"He was twitching!" Legolas said back.

"He was twitching because he's got my axe," Gimli shook his axe, making the corpse twitch. "Imbedded in his nervous system!" Mya walked up with a smirk on her face.

"Now boys, there's no need to argue," she said, placatingly. "We all know who the real winner is here."

"Yeah, and who's that, Mya?" They asked at the same time.

"Me!" She said, smirk growing wider. "I killed fifty with magic alone, then I lost count of how many met my sword or bow." She then walked away, leaving them stunned.

"Your Princess is feisty." Gimli said, admiringly. "I like it." Legolas nodded in agreement as his heart swelled with love for the Hunter Princess who'd captured his heart relentlessly.
