A blinding light startled Leola awake. Her breaths were short as she realised the pain she was in. Limbs bound, and gag tight, all she could do was stare into the face of a man she knew too well. He smiled eerily at her, and ran a finger down her throat.

"Remember me?"

Leola's eyes narrowed.

"There's no need to look like that, missy. You used to be their favourite, then you did a runner, didn't you, bad girl. I remember, you were the scariest, and the coldest person I have ever met, and now, you're a soft, weak, loser."

Leola clenched her teeth together, she knew what he was going to say, she had seen this happen before.

"And now, because you were a bad girl, you need to be punished. I volunteered."

Leola froze, he showed his palm and all she could see was dark black and purple magic forming in it. She started to shake and her heart beat tempo went through the roof. He released the magic and a long piercing scream ripped through Leola.

O

Merlin and Arthur sat in the apartment, the police had been and gone, friends had stayed and searched, but Leola had not returned. Her body was not found at the scene, and she had not returned home. She was gone.

Merlin stared at his cup of tea, the steam rising and swirling around him. He was oblivious to the cold stare Arthur gave him from across the table.

"Merlin, are you going to answer that?"

Merlin looked up quickly "W... What?"

"Your phone Merlin, it's ringing."

"Oh, shit, yeah."

Merlin grabbed at the phone, knocking it across the table, before finally managing to pick it up.

"H...Hello? Leola?"

"You're looking for her right? The girl. Well, I know where she is. Do not say anything, do not record this message, just listen to what I am about to tell you. You are Merlin Dragoon, and your past is hazy, but you must remember the blood. Leola is going through that pain right now, and if you wish to save her, you must come with only one trusted friend, and you must tell no one, if these rules are broken, Leola will be killed by midnight. Good luck."

Merlin's face was ashen. He did remember, but he'd rather forget. His heart hammered in his chest, and sweat poured from his brow. He only had nine hours to save her. It was no question who he would choose.

"Arthur, there's something I need to tell you."

O

Leola panted as another wave of pain swept through her body. Sweat glistened on her brow, and her vision was blurred, all she could hear was the maniacal chuckles coming from the figure in front of her. His words had become distorted though, and she began to slip into darkness, all the while his laugh ringing in her ears.

O

"Wait, Leola and you... Dude, this isn't funny. Leola's not back and.."

"Arthur I'm serious, me and Leola are warlocks, or magicians, and Leola has been kidnapped."

"I don't believe you."

"Let me show you then." As he spoke these words Merlin's eyes flashed gold and on the table appeared a small, smoke dragon, weakly flapping its wings, until it dissipated into nothing.

Arthur stared.

"Believe me yet?"

"W...Wait. You don't just expect... Sure, okay, lets go rescue Leola."

A weak smile spread on Merlin's face, "Yeah."
