Chapter 29: Green Eyed Monster
Isabel's POV
I shivered as we stepped out into the crisp fall air. I took a sip of my pumpkin spice latte before Jason slipped his arm around my shoulders.
"You wanna go for a walk?" he asked gesturing towards the park across from the coffee shop.
"Sure."
We strolled through the park, sipping our coffee. The multicolored leaves crunched beneath my boots as a breeze ruffled the branches of the trees. I shivered again as we stopped walking. He led me over to a bench and slipped his jacket off before handing it to me.
"Here. Next time tell me when you're cold."
I'd already figured out that arguing with him with certain things was pointless. He was so stubborn. I slipped it on as he sat down beside me and casually placed his arm around my shoulders.
"Thank you, Jason."
"You're welcome… Are you doing anything special this Sunday?"
"Not really. What did you have in mind?" I shrugged.
"My family attends church together and then we all meet back up at the manner for lunch. I'm not really religious but it makes Alfred happy so yeah. We pretty much do that every Sunday… You don't have to come if you don't want to but I thought you might want to meet my family and yeah," He rambled, looking away as a family of five ran by with a dog.
He wants me to meet his family? Already? I've only met his kids once and one of his brothers- Oh my God. He wants me to meet his father! He wants me to meet his Batman father! He wants me to-
"Isabel?"
"Oh. Sorry. I kinda spaced out for a minute… I'd love to go with you."

Dean's POV
"We have to keep her from Jason," I explained.
"But why do we have to be mean?" Sam asked.
"So she won't want to be a part of our family."
"I like her though. She's nice. I want her to be our new mommy."
"You only met her once. Besides, she's only pretending to be nice and we can't have a new mom."
He looked at me in horror before asking, "Why?"
"She doesn't like any of us. She probably just likes Jason for his money. What idiot would want to date him anyway?"

Isabel's POV
"Alfred and Leslie are basically the loving grandparents. But, don't be fooled. They know everything and could kill you if they wanted. That's my father, Bruce. He's the head of the family and he basically rules with an iron fist. Then we have the firstborn, Dick. You've met him before. That's his wife, Barbara. Their twins are Johnny and Jamie. Johnny's the conniving one and Jamie's the good child but you'll probably never tell them apart. Mar'i is Dick's child from an affair and she's also the cause of relationship issues between Dick and Barbara. Mary is their baby girl. That's Barbara's father, Jim. He's the commissioner. The short one over there is Tim. That's his wife, Stephanie. Sitting between them is their daughter, Jackie, and their recently adopted son, Michael. The one with the scowl on his face is Damian. Don't get on his bad side. That's his wife, Mia Queen. She's Oliver Queen's youngest daughter. Don't get on her bad sides either. The two boys sitting in-between them and Bruce are Terry and Matt. Terry and Matt are-"
I stared in shock at the random people as Jason continued to name members of his enormous family. Wait, is Bruce Wayne staring at me? I feel like he's evaluating me. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable… and I thought it was bad when we sat down and Dean deliberately put himself and his brother between us. Why am I even here? I don't belong here with-
"Isabel?" Jason asked.
"What?"
"You spaced out again."
"Right. Sorry," I mumbled as everyone began taking their seats for the service.
The pastor or whatever continued preaching as I felt the eyes of every member of Jason's family analyzing me. I'd never wanted to just melt through the floorboards more than this minute.
"Miss Izbel?" Sam asked as he suddenly pulled on my jacket sleeve.
Aww! The way he pronounces my name is so adorable! He's so cute! I just want to squeeze his chubby little cheeks.
"Yes?" I asked as I tried to contain my emotions.
"Can I sit in your lap?" he asked before moving into my lap without waiting for my response.
"Um… sure," I responded as Dean suddenly gave me a death glare.
I'm really starting to think he hates me.

Isabel's POV
I sat beside Jason on a couch in an extremely fancy living room. His father's house is amazing and huge. I could be lost for days. His brothers and sister-in-laws were with us. They all seemed nice… except for Damian and Tim seemed a bit distracted. You could practically feel the tension between Barbara and Dick. Yet, his father was nothing but pure intimidation. I really felt smaller than my 5'4" height when anywhere near the mountain of a man… And I thought Jason was big.
Mr. Wayne never said a word as we sat talking. It was like he was analyzing me.
Dean's POV
I narrowed my eyes at the bitch tucked into Jason's side as they sat on the couch talking to his family. I looked over at Terry and growled, "I hate her and now Sammy's a traitor."
Terry rolled his eyes before replying, "Dude, you don't even know her and your brother is only trying to get a new mom."
"That's not the point! We don't need her! Jason doesn't need her! He already has us! He shouldn't need anything else!"
"You really have issues, you know that?"
"I don't have issues!"
He just shook his head as Sam suddenly walked over to where Jason and his girlfriend were. He held up a picture he had colored and gave it to her. She pretended to be extremely excited and she even pulled him into her lap and hugged him while Jason just sat there with a stupid smile on his face. It was sickening!
Leslie soon walked over to them and asked if she was allergic to anything.
"I'm highly allergic to nuts actually," she replied as an idea hit me.
"Dean, no way. Don't even think about it. That could kill her," Terry warned as I shrugged.
"Relax. I wasn't going to do anything… yet."

I watched her as she stopped eating about halfway through her meal. She coughed once before Jason leaned over and asked if she was okay. She gave him a slight nod before her hand started to prod her throat. She started coughing again. Jason put his hand on her back before she pushed him away. She immediately stood up, only to face plant into the carpet.
Oh crap! I didn't actually think it would kill her! I just wanted her to leave Jason alone!
"I told you not to kill her!" Terry hissed as I shrugged.
"I didn't think it was going to do that," I mumbled as Alfred started screaming at Jason to take her to the cave.
"Dude, your dad is going to kill you once he finds out what you did."
"Yeah. I know."

Jason's POV
"Master Jason, I have no idea how a handful of peanuts managed to invade your date's plate," Alfred carefully explained as Leslie finished stabbing Isabel with an epi pen.
"You and Leslie were the only ones in the kitchen though."
"True. She didn't do it either though. It was only the two of us… and Master Dean for-"
"Wait… Dean was in the kitchen?"
"Only for a moment. He asked if we needed any help."
"Of course he did."

Dean's POV
I knew I was in big trouble the second Jason made eye contact with me.
Terry patted my shoulder before saying, "Well, it was nice knowing you. I'll help your brother carry your casket at the funeral."
I didn't even get a chance to respond before Jason practically dragged me up the staircase towards his old bedroom. I kept my eyes on the carpet as he bent down and tried to look me in the eye.
"You wanna tell me anything?"
"Not really."
"You sure?" he asked, forcing my chin up so our eyes met.
"Sorry."
"Sorry? You're sorry! What in the hell were you thinking!" he yelled.
"I… I don't know."
"You could have killed her! Her throat started to close up!"
I dropped my gaze to the ground and muttered, "Sorry."
"You're going to be sorry."

Isabel's POV
I woke up to see Sam sitting next to me in a hospital bed in… Holy shit! I'm in the Batcave! No freaking way! This is amazing!
"Miss Izbel, I made you a get not sick card," Sam said as he pushed the crumpled drawing of… something into my hands. "It's me riding a dino… dino… dinosir."
He crawled over and practically got into my lap as I smiled down at him. He's just so stinking cute! I just love him! Oh my God! I just want to hug him and squeeze him forever!
"Thank you, sweetheart. That was very thoughtful," I replied as he beamed up at me.
"Sam, you should let her get her rest," Mr. Wayne said as he appeared out of nowhere.
Sam poked his bottom lip out but reluctantly slid off the bed. His grandfather patted his hair and told him to head upstairs where Alfred and Leslie were making cookies. He eased himself into a chair beside the tiny bed and stared at me. I instantly wanted to melt into the floor.
"You had an allegoric reaction to peanuts. Your throat started to close up and you passed out. How are you feeling?"
"Better," I squeaked as he nodded.
"Good… My son seems to care for you. You seem to make him and Samuel happy."
Awkward much? "Right. I like them too… and Dean. I just think he has some jealousy issues right now."
"It was to be expected… Miss Ardila, my son's happiness is very important to me. None of his past relationships have been successful. If you are-"
"Mr. Wayne, sorry to interrupt you but I'm not trying to hurt Jason. I really have feelings for your son… and his children. I also know who your family is and I know I'd pretty much die if I tried to hurt your family… And just so you know, I am not easily intimidated… even though you are Batman and kinda scary and big."
He merely raised an eyebrow before nodding. He excused himself and headed back upstairs with me trailing behind him. He led me into the same room we'd been in earlier. All the kids were either yawning sleepily or bursting with energy. Jason's family all came to tell me goodbye and whatever before they headed to their own homes. Mr. Wayne retreated to his cave and Alfred and Leslie retreated to their bedroom, leaving Jason and I alone with a passed out Sam in his lap.
"Where's Dean?"
"Upstairs," he grumbled as he had this pissed off look on his face.
"What's he doing up there?"
"Crying."
"Why?"
"Probably from the spanking I gave him… Or most likely his pride's been hurt and he's crying because he couldn't have what he wanted."
"Jason, you shouldn't have hit-"
"I didn't hit him. I'd never abuse my children, Isabel. There is a difference between a spanking and a beating. Besides, I didn't even do it that hard."
"Right. Sorry… Why did you-"
"He purposely tried to kill you with peanuts."
"Oh… Right… Yeah... I guess he'd make a horrible assassin, huh?"
He just stared at me before closing his eyes and running a hand through his hair. He sighed, "What am I going to do with him?"
"Maybe he's just jealous?"
"No. That can't be right," he replied before adding, "I guess I need to get him so we can go."
"Do you want me to take Sam?" I asked.
He nodded and handed the tiny child over to me before heading upstairs.
At least one of his kids hasn't tried to kill me yet.
Eventually, Jason came back downstairs with Dean sniffing and wiping at his red and puffy eyes.
"S-sorry," he sniffed.
"It's alright… Just don't try to kill me again."
His eyes met mine and he immediately gave me the best bitch face a crying eight year old could muster before saying, "Maybe."
Oh yeah. Definitely jealous… and possibly insane.
