"…do not trust you. You are a liar, a bad person," Lillian declared.
Mrs. Kamiru stared at the girl with her eyes widened. How did she find out? Did she perhaps randomly regain her memories at this moment?
"I-I wasn't lying, sweet heart. I was telling the truth! You have to trust me!"
"I almost did but I trust Phillip more than anybody else. I know he is not a liar because he will never be," Lillian replied with a smile.
The woman glowered at Lillian. Once again, her plan was ruined because of that stupid boy named Phillip. She had this policy that she would annihilate anyone who brought her misfortune. That meant the sibling would be her target this time.
"Fine, let your faith and trust in that boy become the reason of your death and your brother's," she declared then turned to her security guards. "Find her other twin, the boy that interrupted the wedding."
"Yes, Mam!"
"W-wait! Please do not hurt Phillip! It is okay if you hurt me but please do not hurt my brother!" Lillian interrupted. The only respond she got was getting a ball of cloth shoved in her mouth.
"Felicity," the woman called out to pretty lady, who looked about twenty two. She had really beautiful wavy hair with the color of peachy orange. The girl, so called Felicity, wore a familiar maid outfit but Lillian couldn't remember where she had seen it.
"You called, Mistress Kamiru?" Felicity answered.
"I want you to go back to the mansion and served the young master for awhile. Watch him and make sure he doesn't do anything reckless. Then report back to me."
"Yes, Mam."
"And make sure to give that girl a little of food but good enough so she won't starve herself."
"Yes, Mam."
With that, the woman and her security guards left, leaving only the maid and Lillian in the room.
"Oh how I pity you. Too bad you can't live your life to it full extend," Felicity stated. "Anyways, I'll be returning to the mansion now. Be a good girl and stay here. The bathroom is right in the corner over there if you need it."
"MHMMM!" Lillian grunted.
"Well, good luck. Toodle!~"
Then the door slammed shut with the sound of the door knob being locked. Lillian could care less about being locked in a room or being starved to death. All she wanted was to be untied so she could easily use the bathroom. Oh come on! What if she accidentally wet her pant like a baby? That would be so embarrassing and humiliating! So, before anything like that happened, Lillian quickly planned out how to use the bathroom in her situation.
A few minutes after her groom decided to leave the wedding for another girl, Laney slapped Phillip's cheek as hard as she could. Anger and sadness were swelling up inside of her that tears ran down her cheeks. It was such an embarrassment, not only had everyone witnessed the event of Cam leaving her but they also saw her kissing another guy! She must have disappointed her dear father. He wasn't smiling like he did at the beginning anymore.
"I hate you! How could you do that to me?! You ruined my wedding! You stole my happiness!" Laney shouted.
Howard stood up from his seat, ready to give his daughter some comfort. At that moment, Phillip grabbed the bride's hand and stared at her father with a smile.
"Please don't worry, I promise you I'll take good care of her," Phillip promised then dragged Laney along the aisle. "I'll make sure she will be home before nine!"
The blonde couldn't stop sobbing during the hand-in-hand walk with Lillian's brother. She didn't know where they were going. She was trying to hide her terrible face from the random strangers that walked by. They came to a stop under the shadow of a tree at a nearly empty park. Phillip stared at the black tears from the mascara streaming down her face. He sent her a gaze that pressed her against the tree.
"What do you want?" Laney barked.
"I want to know how selfish and ignorant you are," Phillip stated, pushing his hands in his pockets. "It seems like I was the one whole stole your happiness today."
"Yes, you did! I hate you so much for ruining my life! I could have lived a happy life if it wasn't for you and your stupid sister! You and your sister are just bunch of selfish bastards!"
Phillip immediately punched the tree behind Laney, which startled her. His usual calm eyes had shifted to the eye of a merciless demon.
"Don't you ever dare to call my sister those things. I don't care if you're a girl or a boy, I'll hurt you. Do you understand me, Blondy?"
The blonde hesitantly nodded. She felt an extreme fear for that breeze moment. Who ever thought this young man could ever turn into a monster?
Phillip gradually relaxed his shoulder. He turned away from the young woman and gazed into the clear, blue sky.
"Look Blondy, because you're stupid, I'll give you some valuable information," he stated. "If I give you a mirror right now, take a good look at it. You know what that mirror defines?"
"What?"
"That mirror will define who you are, a selfish thief."
At this moment of the day, Laney couldn't reply to his statement. Partially because she didn't understand what he meant. Another part was that she believed him.
"In order to achieve the 'happy life' that you want, you took away Cam's and my sister's happiness. Same goes for the other woman," Phillip continued. "But tell me, Blondy, did you genuinely feel happy when you wore the white gown, walked down the aisle, and said 'I do'?"
Laney paused, trying to hold in her tears. She wasn't happy. Truthfully, she was sad and jealous that Cam would never like her. She knew it but she refused to accept that reality. She had hoped that Cam would start to love her after they got married. The blonde shook her head.
"No… I was not," she replied. "But you're a thief, too!"
"And what did I steal?"
"My first kiss!"
"What?"
Phillip blinked several times. He wiggled his finger in his ear, trying to make sure that there was nothing blocking his hearing.
"A-are you serious? Are you seriously bothered by that?" he questioned.
"H-how could you kiss me in front of everyone!? We're not even in a relationship! We haven't even gone on a date! And—"
Before the blonde could finish her sentence, Phillip pulled her hand.
"W-where are we going?!"
"I'm taking you to the mall to get a new outfit. We're going on a date!" Phillip exclaimed.
As soon as they entered a clothing store, the young man pulled random outfits from the hanger and shoved them toward Laney.
"Go change out of that wedding gown. The fitting room is over there. I'll wait for you outside," Phillip demanded.
The blonde nodded and obediently followed Phillip's order. Amazingly, the outfit fit on her perfectly. She wore a white collared shirt under a buttoned, scarlet cardigan and a lengthy skirt with dash line patterns and scattered yellow stars. It felt rather nicer and lighter than the big wedding dress. She handed her white gown to the manager and went to the bathroom to wash off her make-up.
"Throw away the dress takes a lot of weight off your shoulder doesn't it?" Phillip asked.
"Y-yeah…"
"Okay, let's go."
"W-wait! Why are we randomly going on a date?" Laney asked with slightly flushed cheeks.
The boy shrugged his shoulder. Then he smiled.
"You don't have to call it a date. Maybe we can go to places and throw away the sadness that had been bearing in our chest."
