"Murdered?" The medic asked, unsure he had heard his creation right.

Jemma nodded. "Yes."

"I thought…"

"So did Linley. That is what I told her too. The only bot who possibly figured it out is Prowl. You know how he has a thing for that kind of stuff."

Ratchet nodded. "Explain to me what happened. Start from the beginning." He offered his servo in comfort. She took it and squeezed it, too afraid to let go.

"I was in to my second groon of carrying Echo and Circe. Amicus was supposed to be having a play date. I had finished my errands early. So I had gone to see a friend that was up the street from where we lived…" Finally getting the courage to look her carrier in the optic, Jemma looked up at him and smiled sadly. "You remember telling me as a youngling that you could tell it was me crying even if there were other crying too?"

Ratchet nodded and gave his creation's servo a gentle squeeze. "I do. It is also something that I could feel in my spark."

Jemma nodded and looked back at the ground. "After about 30 klicks I heard this terrible scream and I knew it belonged to Amicus. I knew something was wrong, I could feel it. I was out the door so fast…" The femme could feel the tears streaming down her face. "No matter how fast I tried to go… It felt like it took forever. I finally got there and… I called out to him. He came flying out the door, right in to my arms. I collapsed on the ground and held him close. He explained to me what had happened. I told him to wait outside. I went in… Amicus' sire was in two pieces."

"Oh Jemma…" Ratchet pulled his creation into a hug.

Linley placed the data pad back on the desk when she was done reading it. "So… Amicus' sire died protecting him… Primus…. The poor youngling saw everything…"

Prowl nodded. "They found the bot that did it. They found him limping a few blocks away. They took him to the nearest medical centre but he offlined from his injuries."

"That is why he asked me to train him when he got old enough. He wants to make sure he can protect his sisters from what offlined his sire and almost offlined him. That poor thing…" Linley hugged her carrier.

"DECEPTICONS!"

The three bots looked at each other. "Sire you go, Carrier will come with me." The three bots left the office and Prime was coming down the halls. "Sire you and Prime go. Jazz and I will take the younglings." They nodded and they left. "Linley…"

"We are going to the med bay. You can keep an optic on the younglings and I will help First Aid with the repairs."

They all headed for the med bay.

:Jazz.:

:Prowl?:

:Please know that I love you. Tell Linley that I love her.:

:Prowl? I love you too. Prowl?: Jazz could feel the rip in his spark. He fell to the floor.

"CARRIER!" Linley caught her carrier and ran in to the med bay. "First aid!"

"Linley?!"

"Keep him stable and keep an optic on them."

Linley rushed out of the med bay and out of the base.

"Sire!" Linley ran over to the offline tactician. She forced his chest plates open. "LINLEY LOOK OUT!" She looked up and sighed deeply. This was the end. She opened one optic after a klick noticing she was still online. "AMICUS!"

"I need to do this so don't worry about me. Save him!"

She pulled a set of chest paddles out of sub space and charged his spark. The pulse in his spark got stronger and brighter. "SUNNY! SIDES! Cover Amicus." The twins raced over and knocked the bot Amicus was fighting, over. "Amicus! I need your help! Grab the paddles!" The mech nodded and raced over and grabbed the paddles and race after his cousin.

They both headed back to the med bay. "First aid!" He raced off to get some energon lines and Linley place the mech she was holding on to a medical berth. First Aid hooked Prowl up.

"Amicus-"

"Linley… I am sorry… I know I was suppose to stay here…"

Linley put a servo on the mech's shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I'm a little upset that you didn't listen. But I am more grateful that you saved my life and in turn saved Uncle Prowl's life. Can you go check on your sisters?"

The mech smiled and nodded, heading off in the direction of his sisters. The medic smiled for a klick before she heard a loud clang. She turned around and saw Jazz seizing on the berth. "Frag!"

"He is going to lose the sparkling."

"Not if I have anything to say about it."

"Jazz's frame is not stable enough to keep it alive."

The medic glared at First Aid and opened Jazz's chest plates.

She managed to get the little sparkling out and put it in a special sparkling chamber. "I learned this while earning my medical degree." She sat down in near by chair and stuck her servo into one of the holes in the side of the chamber. Her servo transformed in to spark energy and placed it next to the sparkling which it instantly attached to.

First Aid came over and looked at her in shock and wonder. "I never knew you could do that."

"Well… It is used in extreme emergencies and it takes a lot of energy to do it."

"If you need anything…."

"Energon will be the only thing I need."

3 joors later

"Prowl?" The tactician opened his optics and blinked a few times and saw that he was looking up at Ratchet. "How are you feeling?"

"Sore. How long have I been out?"

"About three and half joors."

"Jazz? Where is Jazz? "

"He is still in stasis. We were hoping you would wake. His spark was under so much stress that it ejected the sparkling."

Prowl could feel his spark breaking. "But before you get too spark broken. The sparkling is very much online. Linley is a brave femme…"

"I… I don't understand."

Ratchet held out his servo. "There is something you need to see."

Prowl slowly sat up with the help of his carrier and followed his carrier into a private room. Prowl gasped at what he saw. He saw his oldest creation with her helm on the table, in recharge. Her servo was in a special spark chamber. Her servo was giving off spark energy.

The SIC jumped a little when he felt a servo on his shoulder. He turned around. "Jemma?"

"Hey Brother."

"What are you doing here?"

"Sire commed carrier to tell him what had happened. He told me and we both came back. You should be proud of Linley, brother. She was willing to do anything to save your and Jazz's sparkling, that included being stuck in that chair for an orn or two."

Prowl nodded and the other two left, giving the tactician some alone time with his daughter. He sat in a chair in front of her. He gently rubbed her free arm. "Linley…" She slowly came out of recharge. "Linley…"

She looked over at him groggily "Sire?"

"Yes. It is me. How do you feel?"

"Tired, but I'm living. What about carrier?"

"He is still in stasis."

She yawned. "I'm glad you are okay."

Prowl smiled a little. "Hey Linley?"

Linley blinked a few times. "Hm?"

He hugged her. "I am so proud of you. I love you so much."

"I love you too Sire."

"I'll let you get some more recharge." He stood up and started to leave.

"Hey Sire?"

He stopped and turned to look at his daughter. "Yes, Sweetspark?"

"Can you come wake me before Grand-carrier wakes Carrier?"

"Of course Sweetspark."

She laid her helm back on the table and fell back into recharge.

Prowl left the room and sighed. "Uncle Prowl?" He looked down at the mech calling his name.

"Yes Amicus?"

"Is Linley going to be okay?"

Prowl raised an optic ridge. "She isn't hurt."

Amicus started to cry and Prowl got down on the floor and pulled Amicus in to his arms. "I wasn't able to help her fast enough…"

Prowl leaned back and looked Amicus in the optics. "What do you mean?"

"When the Decepticons attacked… You and Grand-sire went out to fight and Linley and uncle Jazz took us to the med bay. But Jazz broke, because you had technically offlined. Linley had carried Jazz in here and left to go find you. She told First Aid to watch us. But… I didn't listen. I felt this strong feeling to go after Linley, like I was being pulled there. When I got there… Linley had your chest plates opened but a Decepticon was going to kill her. She leaned over you to protect you and I took the mech by surprise. …But I haven't seen her come out of that room… So I thought maybe I hadn't helped her fast enough."

"Does your Carrier know what you did?"

Amicus shook his helm.

Prowl led Amicus into Ratchet's office and saw that Ratchet and Jemma were talking. "Sorry to interrupt you two, but there is something that you both need to know." They both looked at the tactician. Prowl looked down at Amicus and nodded at the mech. The young mech explained what he had just explained to the tactician. Jemma pulled her son in to her arms and held him close. She kissed his cheek. "I am so proud of you. Your sire would be proud of you."

"Jemma… With your permission I'd like to have him work with Jazz and train him." Jemma nodded.

"If that is what he wants."

"I want that more than anything."

An Orn Later

"Linley?" The young medic raised her helm from the table. "Grand-Carrier?"

"The sparkling is mature enough that you can disconnect your spark energy from it." Linley nodded and disconnected the sparkling from her servo and her servo transformed back in to a working servo. "Here, drink this. It will make you feel more awake."

"Thank you." She accepted the cube and took a sip from it. She smiled softly and Ratchet sat next to her. "Where is Sire?"

"Working. Or at least trying to. Prowl is a nervous wreck since he hasn't been able to feel Jazz through his bond in 10 joors."

Linley nodded as she finished her cube. She placed her servo back in to the sparkling chamber and gently stroked the sparklings helm. "I have a brother." Ratchet looked at Linley and then to the little sparkling in the chamber.

"He has one of the best sets of creators and he also has an amazing sister."

Linley smiled at her Grand-carriers comment and smiled even more when she realized something else. "He takes after Sire. He is going to have door wings just like sire."

:Hey Sire?:

:Linley?! Is something wrong?:

:Primus no. I just thought I would comm you so you could come and officially meet your sparkling.:

:On my way.:

"Prowl is on his way to meet the sparkling."

Ratchet nodded. "I'll be in my office if you need me and Linley?"

She looked up at him. "Hm?"

He smiled at her. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."

She nodded and he left. A few klicks later the door slid open. "Linley."

She stood up and gave her sire a hug. "Ratchet and I think Jazz can be woken up in a few cycles."

Prowl nodded. "How is the little one?"

"Healthy as can be. An adorable little mech you and Carrier have. He is going to have door wings just like you sire."

The SIC moved closer to the chamber. "Can I touch him?"

Linley nodded. "Of course."

Prowl moved closer and stroked the sparkling's helm.

The older medic poked his helm in. "Hey you two. Jazz is about to come out of stasis. They quickly glanced at each other and then left the room. The TIC groaned and blinked a few times. Prowl leaned over Jazz.

"Prowl?" The tactician smiled. "Prowl!"

Jazz pulled the tactician into him and kissed him. He gasped at an odd sensation. "The sparkling! It's gone!" Not thinking and in pain Jazz pushed Prowl away but Prowl didn't let go.

"Jazz! Jazz, look at me!" Jazz looked up at his lover. "You need to be proud of Linley." Jazz looked over at Linley. "She saved our sparkling. She has spent the last 10 joors in private room feeding spark energy to our sparkling." Jazz opened his arms for his oldest creation and she went over and hugged him.

She leaned back and smiled. "So… Would you like to meet your son?"

Jazz blinked and smiled. "We had a mech?"

"Yes, and like sire he will have door wings. Want to see him?"

Jazz nodded and Linley led Jazz to the private room where the sparkling was being held, Prowl was right behind both of them.

Jazz picked up the sparkling and held him close.

:Hey Prowl?:

:A comm Jazz? You are standing right in front of me.:

Jazz smiled and kissed the sparkling's forehelm. :I don't want Linley to hear this just yet.:

:Ah. What can I do for you, Jazzy?:

:I was thinking about a name for our son.:

:You have some ideas?:

:No. I was thinking that maybe Linley should name him. He is here because of her determination. She was the one who spent the last 10 joors sitting in that chair that is beside you, sacrificing her time and energy to save our sparkling.:

Prowl smiled and moved closer to Jazz. :I was just thinking the same thing.:

The SIC and TIC looked at each other with a soft smile before looking back at Linley.

"So… have you and sire have a name for my little brother."

"No, we haven't."

"Should I leave you two be and let you think about it?"

Prowl stood next to his daughter and gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Your carrier and I have decided to let you give your little brother his name."

Linley looked up at her carrier. He was nodding and smiling. She looked at her sire. "Really? Why me?"

"Your carrier and I are really proud of you. You sacrificed your time and energy to save our sparkling. I found out from Ratchet another reason why what you did is only used for emergencies…. To save our sparkling like that… it could have cost you your life."

The saboteur spoke up. "If it wasn't for your determination, this little one wouldn't be online. Your sire and I would like you to name him."

Linley nodded and thought for a moment. "What about Kadin?"

Jazz smiled as did Prowl. "That is amazing name."

Jazz looked down at the sparkling in his arms. "Welcome to the world, Kadin."

Author's Note: Also adding to my disclaimer, I also own Kadin. But if I mentioned that in the beginning then you all would have figured it out. So I am adding it here in my author's note! Sorry about not putting an author's note on Chapter 28. I was in such a rush to get it ready for you all to read and then I lost the internet and I had to wait till the following day to post it, that I forgot to add one! Oh well! Please R&R
