It was about a week after I had asked Rosalie that, if she really wanted to buy me a car, that she get one that was beat up and barely running, so that we could work on it together. Since then, Rosalie had me looking over anything she could get ahold of that had old, apparently vintage or something that means the car is really awesome in the land of people who know stuff about cars. She had me even looking at listings from others countries saying that even though it wouldn't get here in time to 'open' on Christmas, if I found one I wanted, she would get it and then figure something else out that I would still be able to open something from her on Christmas morning. She wouldn't listen to me that if that did happen, she didn't need to get me more things just so I could open something; she full out, blatantly ignored me whenever I said that.

It didn't take long for me to find a vehicle, a truck; that I really wanted. It didn't look like a classic or vintage or whatever, truck, but to me, it had personality and I hadn't even seen it in person yet. It was Emmett that had showed me the magazine with the listing; it was a magazine that Rosalie would have never showed me because it was all vehicles that apparently had no real value in the car world. When I found the truck I wanted and showed Rosalie, she got mad and both me and Emmett. Me, because I didn't want one of the 'real cars', as she would say, that would be 'cool' for me to have; and Emmett because it was him that showed me the magazine in the first place. Because Rosalie didn't want to get upset and run off again, she decided to give me the cold shoulder. Literally. She wore a shirt with no sleeves and cuddled next to me as I played some random video game with Emmett and wouldn't talk to me the entire time; only pressing random buttons on my controller every so often that resulted in Emmett losing; therefor she was able to get back at me by making me slightly cold from her shoulder being against me and not talking to me, and getting back at Emmett by not talking to him and making him lose a game that I was really bad at and he was really good at.

It was eventually decided that Rosalie would get me the truck I wanted, but only because, and I quote, 'Because I'm too hard headed to realize that I'm passing up a good opportunity to have a classic car and am not going to be stuck with a monster of a truck that probably won't last longer than a year.' Granted after she said that, she mumbled that there was no way she wouldn't buy a whole new set of everything so that the truck would last longer than a year, but I got the point. She didn't like the red truck I picked out and I honestly wasn't too bothered by it.

I was downstairs, having just finished eating breakfast, sitting with Esme, while I waited for Rosalie to finish getting ready so we could go and get the truck I wanted. Esme had stayed clear of the issue of me wanting this truck, only saying that Rosalie wanted to get me something I would like, but wouldn't pick sides whenever we started to argue about it in front of her and asked her opinion. Though, in all fairness, we probably shouldn't have gotten to try and get Esme to pick sides; thankfully she didn't even try to do that.

"Are you excited dear?" Esme asked from her spot across from me, not putting down the home design magazine she was reading, but did turn her eyes in my direction.

"I think I'm more nervous than anything." I admitted. It was common knowledge around the house that Emmett had been teasing me, or really, more Rosalie than me but it was said directly to me since Emmett wasn't quite brave enough to tease Rosalie directly after she had just finished being mad at him, that the salesman would probably try to hike up the price from what it was listed for since it was just Rosalie and I going to get the truck. Rosalie had decided the listing price was decent enough and wasn't going to try to get it lowered because she figured it was as low as it could go because not even the salesman wanted the thing on his lot. Her comment just made me want the truck even more; but it made me nervous that the salesman might be a jerk and try to make Rosalie pay a lot more than what was fair. Emmett told me that I could see Rosalie argue for a car price and that I would probably love seeing her in her element and show off her intelligence; he said it would probably turn me on. That was when I promptly turned bright red and decided it was time to go take a shower or eat, or do something in a different room. Rosalie just smirked as I had walked out of the room.

"There's nothing to be nervous about. Rosalie has had to haggle hundreds of times for many things; it won't be a problem." Esme said with a small smile that was threatening to be a smirk as well.

It was common knowledge in the household, thanks to Alice telling me about it and Emmett teasing me about it, that there was basically a bet going around, just the kids, including Rosalie, about who I would kiss first. I wasn't sure who had the most votes between Rosalie and Esme, but I didn't really care. I figured it would happen when it would happen and I wasn't going to push anything and I knew they weren't going to push anything. I just get embarrassed when Emmett brings it up in some sort of way; probably thinking he was getting me to kiss which mate I was closest to at the time. According to him, there was a lot of sexual frustration between the three of us; but I was choosing to ignore him and Esme and Rosalie never mentioned anything. So I wasn't concerned, just nervous.

"I'm sure Rosalie will have no problem being able to get the price she wants." I said with a sigh. I was sure that if the salesman did try to inflate the price on Rosalie, she would have no problem fighting back to get the truck I wanted and for a price that was fair.

"You're nervous about what Emmett has been teasing you about?" Esme asked as she lowered her magazine to the counter; making sure to mark the page she was on before she stood and walked over to stand next to me.

"A little." I admitted with a red face, causing Esme to chuckle before she gently cupped my cheek with her hand so that I would face her. She was a lot closer than I had thought she originally was.

"There's nothing to be nervous about." Esme said as her thumb started to rub small circles on my cheek. "I'll admit that it is a very nice to Rosalie in her element when she's arguing for a price she knows is right for a vehicle; but it shouldn't bother you if you like to watch her in action." Esme's words definitely held more meaning than what they did at face value and caused me to blush a little more.

"I just, I just don't want you guys to think I'm purposefully holding out or anything." I nervously said, unsuccessfully turning my head away in embarrassment because Esme still have my face cupped with her hand. I hadn't really addressed this concern of mine with them; at least not so directly. I knew they wouldn't push me and they knew I wouldn't do anything until I was ready; it was almost like a silent agreement.

"We don't think that." Esme said with a smile as she leaned in just a little more. "We know that when the time is right, everything will play out like it should. And no sooner." Esme said as her nose just barely touched mine. I could practically feel the air around us change and I couldn't help but wonder if Esme had this situation planned. I wouldn't be surprised; Esme was quiet, but when she wanted something, she got it; just not as vocally as Rosalie tended to be when she wanted something. "We would never pressure you. Just, perhaps give incentive."

My eyes slid closed as I saw Esme lean in even more and then seconds later felt her lips connect with mine.

It wasn't a mind blowing kiss. It was a kiss full of heated promises of what would come in time. I didn't even feel the need to wrap my arms around her and pull her closer. It was a simple kiss. The kiss was meant to be a reassuring one, not one to spike my desires of her… though it did do that as well. The kiss Esme gave me was meant to relax me and assure me that she was there and waiting for whenever I was ready to move our relationship along; that there was no pressure.

"Oh." I said when she pulled back just a second or two later after feeling her lips against mine. It wasn't a very eloquent thing to say, and didn't really make sense from what she had just said, but it was all my mind could put together after feeling her lips for the first time.

"Don't pressure yourself to do something that you're uncomfortable with because you think we want more; we only want what you give." Esme said as she leaned against the counter next to me, taking her hand off my cheek.

I hadn't heard anyone walk into the room, but I knew Rosalie had because I felt her arms wrap around my shoulders and felt her place a kiss on my cheek.

"I just want us to have fun getting your monstrosity of a truck." Rosalie said. "If you have fun seeing me possibly putting a man in his place for trying to take advantage of us; then good. Just ignore Emmett; he hasn't had any real action in years and he just wants to live vicariously through you." Rosalie teased, I could just faintly hear a 'hey', shouted by Emmett in offense from somewhere in the house. "Come on, I want to get there before there are too many people there." Rosalie said as she grabbed my hand to lead me out of the house.

"Have fun you two." Esme said with a small wave as we left the room she was in, back reading her magazine.

"Don't make any humans cry." Emmett shouted, apparently over the offense he felt from Rosalie's earlier remark.

"No promises." Rosalie said as she gave me a look that said she would be more than happy to make someone cry if she could.

The guy was a complete jerk. When we first rolled up into the lot, Rosalie drove her mustang of course, I could tell this man was a sleaze of some sort. I could practically see the dollar signs in his eyes. Once parked, Rosalie didn't waste any time in find the truck I wanted and told the man that she was going to buy it. I had never been involved in buying a vehicle before, but everything seemed to be going smoothly. Rosalie hadn't bothered looking over the truck because she didn't plan on driving it, or letting me drive it, any time soon; at least until we could get it fixed up.

The man had taken us to his office right away; he was the only employee, the owner I believe, I didn't care that much to find out, but there weren't any other customers there so I figured that when he took us to the office and then left to get some sort of paperwork that needed to be filled out, it wouldn't take him that long. It took him half an hour to come to us. Rosalie was beyond pissed. She said the man was getting paperwork for them to fill out so they could try and qualify for a loan; a loan she didn't want or even remotely need. The man hadn't given her a chance to explain that before he left us alone in his office.

When he came back though, and started up talking the truck and how awesome and how much of a vintage and loved American vehicle it was, all to up the price, Rosalie lost any all patience she may have still had from him keeping us waiting for him to keep paperwork that wasn't needed. Rosalie wasted no time in showing what she really thought about this man.

"First, I don't want or need a loan." Rosalie said with her 'ice queen' voice that almost made me laugh. She may have strangers thinking she was a complete bitch, but I knew better and I just found her 'ice queen' voice funny. "I want to buy that stupid truck and I want it for the listing price." Rosalie all but shoved the listing into the man's face.

"This listing was more of a –" Rosalie didn't allow him to finish whatever excuse he was going to use because she not only wouldn't believe it, but she just didn't want to waste time listening to it. She pulled out her black card and waved it in front of him.

"I want that truck, for the listed price." Rosalie said. "If you can't approve that price, the price you printed in the advertisement of which there wasn't anything mentioned of possible additional add on's to the price, then I'll walk and file a report for false advertising once I show the police this paperwork that clearly shows you trying to get me to buy the truck for a unlawfully inflated price."

"Um, I um." The man stuttered. It didn't even seem like the man was trying to hide the fact he was terrified by Rosalie and it took a lot more effort on my part to not laugh at the man. "Let me go check with the owner." Oh, he wasn't the owner. Guess I was wrong.

The man quickly left, closing the door behind him. I assumed we were going to be in for another long wait and from the look on Rosalie's face, she seemed to think so as well.

"Well, he isn't crying yet." I teased Rosalie with a smile, one she quickly returned. It was fascinating to watch. One second she looked like she was about to rip this mans' head off his shoulders and the next, she looked completely at ease and didn't have a bother in the world.

"Yet, being the key word." Rosalie said with a smug look as she leaned back into her chair and draped her arm over the back of my chair. When we had first sat down, she had pulled my chair out for me and when she sat down, she moved her chair as close as possible to mine. "I think I still have a chance before we leave."

"Do you think he'll actually sell the truck at the listed price?" I asked. I really wanted this truck, but Rosalie had made it perfectly clear that she wouldn't pay a dime over the listed price and I knew that I didn't have a chance of talking her out of it. At least she was doing everything she could to get me the truck at a fair price.

"I think he'll come in here and say that he managed to get some sort of deal from the owner to lower the price; but it won't be as low as the listed price. If it is, then I'll be shocked. This salesman wants to try and get a deal." Rosalie said as she toyed with the black credit card she had in her hand. "From what I can hear, he's going to try one last time to cheat us." I had nearly forgotten she had super human hearing and the walls in this place were very thin.

We continued to talk about the truck. Or, in reality, Rosalie talked about how much she hated the truck and wished I would pick something else out and complained about the work that needed to done on it. Even though she was complaining, I knew she was still really happy that I had finally agreed to let her buy me a vehicle; and even happier about the fact that the two of us now had something to work on that was just between the two of us. I was happy to listen to her talk and list off every reason why I shouldn't get the truck and then list everything that would need to be done to at least get the truck to be an okay vehicle for me. I was happy that I was able to make her happier than she had first intended with this gift.

The man eventually came back in, this time we had only waited twenty minutes before he made his appearance. I knew he was about to come into the room because seconds before he walked in, Rosalie stopped talking and put her 'ice queen' mask back on. This time I did chuckle and Rosalie had to fight a smile when the guy walked in.

Just as Rosalie had predicted, or probably just like she had heard, the man offered something cheaper but not as cheap as what the listed price was. So, Rosalie did her scary act again, this time explaining, in detail, why the truck wasn't worth nearly as much as he was asking for or even what the listing price was. By the time he left again to check if he could give the price we wanted, this time Rosalie warning him not to take his time in getting back because the longer she had to be here, the angrier she got, I swear the man had a tear fall down his cheek just before he closed the door behind him. I turned to Rosalie to ask if he had actually cried and the self-satisfied look on her face was answer enough.

The man only took about ten minutes to get the approval from his manager, or as Rosalie said, to get a drink of something and gathering up his courage, before coming back into the room. The rest of the transaction was easy after the initial issue of the man giving us the right price. Rosalie filled out whatever paperwork was necessary to finalize the sale and transfer the title over into my name. The man seemed a bit shocked when the charge was approved right away on her card. I bet he was hoping it would be declined so he could try and get Rosalie to get a loan with a high interest rate; at least that was what Rosalie told me the first time he had disappeared.

Instead of trusting the man to tow the truck back to the house, Rosalie called a separate towing company and we waited until they had arrived and towed the truck away. The man seemed kind of annoyed that we wouldn't hire his services for the tow and Rosalie flat out told him she thought he would be incompetent to be able to get the truck back to our house in a timely matter. The man's face got red from anger, but he didn't argue with Rosalie; instead he stalked off to go do paperwork in his office.

Once the tow truck drove off with my new truck, we finally got back into Rosalie's mustang.

"Are you hungry?" Rosalie asked just before she pulled out of the parking lot. "We can stop someplace and you can eat."

"Sure; but I wouldn't mind eating at home." Every time I called their house my home, both her and Esme always smiled; they were still very happy that I finally moved in and lived there full time.

"I want to take you and celebrate you getting your first car." Rosalie said with a smile.

I almost asked to have Esme join us, since it was a celebration of sorts. But, I quickly realized that this was something that Rosalie wanted to do with just the two of us; which I had no doubt Esme wouldn't mind. Plus, those two go hunting together all the time, of which I'm sure they do some extracurricular activities that doesn't involve hunting. So, it was only fair that I had some alone time with each of them as well.

"Sure; you pick the place." I answered.

She ended up taking me to a small restaurant and we were able to get a very secluded table. If I hadn't been there when Rosalie had asked for a table, I would have thought she had asked for the table on purpose.

Once we sat down, we both started talking about what we would like to have happen to the truck. I was more than happy to just get it to run properly, and Rosalie was more than happy to upgrade everything she could on it and have me help install it all. When I was done eating, since the restaurant was slow, we didn't get up to leave right away. The waiter cleared our plates and left the check. Within minutes Rosalie and I were holding hands and leaning over the table to be closer to each other.

"I'm really glad you decided to let me get you a vehicle." She had said this several times; but this was the first time she had said it softly and without adding in some sort of insult to the truck.

"I'm glad you're willing to teach me how to fix it up." I said, just as quietly as she had talked.

Her hand gently cupped my cheek and I knew what was about to happen and I couldn't be happier. It felt right. This time though, instead of Rosalie leaning in, I gathered my courage and leaned closer to her.

This kiss was different than the one between Esme and I. This kiss still held promises of what eventually would be, but it was more heated. It wasn't toe curling or anything, but there was more passion in this kiss. Rosalie wasn't using this kiss to reassure me like Esme had; Rosalie was using this kiss to show me how much she loved. I could feel it. I could feel the emotions she was putting into this kiss that lasted much longer than just a few seconds.

It wasn't until I ran out of breath that Rosalie pulled away and I realized I had cupped Rosalie's face with my hands. I hadn't even realized I had moved my hands; nor had I noticed Rosalie had threaded her fingers into my hair next to my ear. That was a definitely a more intense kiss than the one with Esme; one with a different meaning; but enjoyed just the same.

"I can get used to that." I said when we pulled away and I had managed to open my eyes and catch my breath.

"Good; because I already have." Rosalie leaned in again and this time just gave me a chaste kiss before we silently agreed to finally leave the restaurant.

As we left I couldn't help but feel there was a new level of intimacy between the two of us. Instead of Rosalie just holding my hand and leading me to wherever it was we were going; I found myself leaning into her. I even almost wrapped my arm around her waist instead of holding her hand so that I could be closer to her; but we weren't parked that far from the restaurant entrance/exit, so I didn't. But, it was still a new feeling; a feeling I might actually follow through on in the future.

The ride home had started off in silence, but in no time, we started talking about the truck again. Naturally, Rosalie complained about it and I silently listened. On the inside, I couldn't help but think that no matter how much she claimed she didn't like it; she really did. There was no way Rosalie would have bought the truck for me if she didn't have some sort liking for it. There was at least a small part of her that liked; and if there really wasn't, then I could totally boast that I made Rosalie, the 'ice queen', do something she didn't want to do without much of a fight. I would say being able to say that, if only to myself, was well worth listening to her repeated complaints.

Once we got home, the truck was already there and almost everyone had had a chance to look at it already. Rosalie had the garage cleared out the day before so that we could have the full garage to work with to lay everything out as Rosalie disassembled it and taught me all about it. Emmett and Edward were in the garage with the hood up when Rosalie and I got home.

"This is the one you picked Bells?" Emmett asked as he poke something under the hood, I know it wasn't the engine, but I don't know what it was.

"Yup." I said, still happy with more choice; probably even more so since it annoyed Rosalie so much; but I would never tell her that.

"I'm impressed it hasn't fallen apart." Edward said in a serious tone; but I knew he was just teasing.

"It's a monstrosity of a truck and I can't believe I couldn't get her to pick anything else out." Rosalie said as she moved to stand next to Emmett to look at everything that was under the hood for the first time.

"I think it has character." I said as I stood next to her; there was just enough room for the three of us to stand in front of it and still be able to look what was under the hood. That's how big this monster of a truck was; but I didn't mind.

"Well, think of it this way Rose." Edward said as he started to go back into the house. "If she hits something, she won't be hurt." Edward said, teasing about how big the thing was. Emmett and I laughed while Rosalie glared; Edward was probably right, which made it even funnier.

"I'm going to teach her how drive stick; I'll make sure she won't hit anything." Rosalie said under her breath; but I was sure Edward had probably heard her.

"I still say this is an awesome truck." Emmett said, deciding to back in as well. "Not as cool as my jeep; but still cool." He said just before he too disappeared inside the house.

"Esme, have you seen my new truck yet?" I asked, knowing she would hear me from wherever she was in the house.

"It's not new." Rosalie grumbled, to which I just bumped her with my shoulder in a silent reprimand.

Esme silently appeared behind me, making me jump when she wrapped her arms around me. Esme chuckled a little before she kissed my neck, leaned into me then placed her chin on my shoulder to look at the engine and stuff.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's okay."

"Contrary to what Rosalie thinks; I think this is a good first vehicle." Esme said and before Rosalie could start complaining again, she started talking again. "This will give Rosalie a chance to teach you the basics of cars and give her time to pick out a car for you that you would really like and she would approve of."

"And it will be a very good car." Rosalie mumbled; she was distracted as she messed with some part of the engine.

"I'm sure at that time, I'll love it." I said; letting her know that the next time she wants to get me a really expensive car that I didn't really need, I would let her.

"Good." Rosalie said as she flashed me a brief smile. "The sooner I can get you to get rid of this monstrosity, the better."

"It's not a monstrosity; it has character." I argued as Esme started to laugh at us.

"I don't need to be Alice to predict this truck is going to the topic of several arguments in the coming years." Esme said, clearly amused with us as Rosalie and I went back and forth about why she doesn't like it and why I love the truck.
