As always a little rushed, sorry. The next chapter is half complete already so should be up in a couple of days and then I'll work on chapter 19

Kurt ran his fingers over Blaine's cheek again. Curled up together on the bed it was easy to forget how much Blaine had been through in the last couple of days. His temperature had been coming down steadily since his brother had arrived three days previously. He was even starting to get a little colour back in his cheeks. It was the first time in about a week that they were able to make out, and it had been along week. Though Kurt could only keep his hands to Blaine's face and arms and there kisses briefer than usual it was the first time in days that Kurt really did feel as if they were 'normal' boyfriends again. Plus, Kurt wanted to be with Blaine pretty much constantly, the worry that he may lose Blaine a few days ago had affected him badly. He guessed it would take a long time to get over that slight fear in the back of his mind and he would begin to feel comfortable leaving him alone again. Blaine was being patient with him at least, he knew that Kurt was coming in and spending long hours during the night sitting in the chair beside Blaine's bed. If he woke up he stretched out his hand and got Kurt to lay next to him. Burt had caught them the previous morning but had just smiled fondly. However much Kurt wanted to be with Blaine constantly though it just wasn't working out. There was now Cooper and Wes claiming Blaine's time, even Finn had got over his nervousness and had set up his games station in Blaine's room for a couple of racing games. So, this quite time with Carol and Burt safely downstairs, Finn at school, Wes driving to Westerville to visit his sister and Cooper out, was precious time for just the two of them to relax and be together.

"Come what may." Blaine sung softly resting his hand on Kurt's waist.

"I don't like that song any more."

"Oh?" Blaine said looking surprised.

"It's a beautiful song. I love that you wrote it for me. But I don't think I'll be able to hear the words 'till my dying day' for at least another couple of months, I don't want that to be for another eighty years at least."

"Eight years, deal. But not sequins on my zimmer-frame."

"Not even cute little sequined bowties?"

"Nope." He looked a little distracted.

"Are you in pain again?"

" Hm, no. I'll have to write you a new song."

"I'd like that." Kurt said leaning into kiss him again.

"Move on over guys! It's film night!"

Kurt jumped slightly. He'd not heard Cooper coming in. Kurt caught Blaine rolling his eyes before two grocery bags were dumped on the bottom of the bed.

"We've got every type of junk food available. And no complaining about being healthy to get better Kurt, Blaine is getting thinner every day and this is an Anderson boys tradition."

"Did you get the red-vines?" Blaine asked.

"Of course I got the red-vines. What do you take me for? What is a film night without the red vines. Kurt, when our parents used to go on overnight trips and I was left babysitting this one we used to order in pizza and get a pile of sweets and watch films until we just passed out in a sugar induced coma."

"Okay, but there had better be some juicy fruit in there."

Cooper reached into the bag and pulled out a packet of gum. Kurt dove to the end of the bed to make a grab for it. Blaine made a little grunting sound.

"Opps sorry Hunny."

Blaine gave a little laugh.

"It's okay, what films have you got?"

"I thought it was time to go eighties. We have pretty in pink, Ferris Bueller's day off, Back to the future, The breakfast club and Beverly hills cop. Which first?"

"Ferris Bueller?" Blaine asked looking between the two of them.

"Sound good." Kurt answered trying not to be disappointed that his night with Blaine had been interrupted. Blaine deserved time with his brother, they had only just found each other again and the love between the two of them was clear. Kurt had accidentally over heard a conversation between them the day before where Cooper was asking Blaine if he wanted to go live with him. Kurt's heart leaped to his throat. But Blaine had explained to Cooper that he liked how his life was. Kurt knew Blaine was skeptical, he could also tell that the young man was holding back on asking questions until Blaine was feeling better because he had outright told Kurt that. Kurt knew that Cooper would have to go back to college at some point soon so he told himself to just let the brothers spend as much time with each other as possible.

The doorbell rang.

"Oh, that's the pizza." Cooper said rushing out the room.

"Thanks Kurt." Blaine said.

"For what?"

Blaine reached over to take his hand.

"For giving me Cooper back."

"I only want to see you happy."

"We'll have tomorrow night together. I promise. Cooper has to go back to California in two more days. Wes is heading back tomorrow. It's been great to see him again. I had no idea that I still have friends and I still have family, thank you so much for giving me that back Kurt."

"Lots of people love you Blaine. Just as long as you know I'm the one who loves you the most." He said teasingly.

Blaine sat up with a little grunt and through his arms around him in a big bear hug.

Kurt rested his arm around Blaine's back. Blaine gave him a little smile but Kurt could see the sadness underneath. They worked their way slowly down the stairs side by side.

"Doe's it really hurt?" Kurt asked worried.

"No, it just feels sort of tight. Like the stitches are being tugged at."

Kurt stopped suddenly worried that Blaine was going to pull his stitches out and get another infection.

"Kurt, Kurt, stop panicking." The hand in his gave it a hard squeeze. "I need to do this."

"They could have come up to you."

"Kurt, Cooper's having trouble leaving and I'm not going to let him fall behind in his studies because of me. This whole situation has already caused enough problems for him. I'm going to prove to him that I'm okay."

"Blaine. You know he doesn't see it that way. You know he doesn't blame anything on you."

"I know, I just, I can try to do the least damage as possible."

"Oh B."

"Ah please don't start calling me that."

"I like it."

"He used to call me baby B you know?"

"Ah sweet, what's the age difference with you guys anyway?"

"Eight years."

"Ah, so you really were a baby to him."

"Can you please stop."

They'd got to the bottom of the stairs. Kurt took a step forwards and opened the door with a flourish.

"Here he is!"

Kurt's dad, Cooper and Wes were stood in the living room their bags already packed and by their feet. Kurt watched Cooper's face light up as Blaine took a step forwards, he ended up almost being pushed aside as the two brothers wrapped each other in a hug.

"You're up."

"Not for too long. I hope." Burt said.

"I just wanted to come down here to say goodbye."

Kurt could see the tears in Blaine;s eyes.

"Hey B, it's okay. I'm going to be back soon. I've just got to do some catching up in California but then I'll be right back as soon as I'm able. We're not going to get separated ever again. I promise. Okay." Cooper said pulling away and looking down at his brother.

"Okay."

Cooper clapped him on the back before turning around and busying himself with his bag. It was just a flash but Kurt was pretty sure that he also saw tears in the young man's eyes.

Wes stepped forwards then to wrap Blaine in a hug.

"I'm so glad you're okay Blaine. You have no idea how gutted I was when I thought you were gone."

"I missed you too."

"Have you thought about what I said?"

"I miss the Warblers, I do. All of you. But I'm not ready yet. I think the more people who know where I am the more chance there is of somebody letting slip. I just can't risk be found."

"What do you think they'll do Blaine? I mean, the law says Kurt gets to make any decisions, nobody can take you away from here without his say so."

" And I'm never letting you go. I mean, not unless you want me to."

"He'll find a way. He'll always find a way."

"Hey!" Burt interrupted. "You stop that. This is your home, we're your family. We're going to protect you any way possible. So don't think that man can ever do anything to you because he'd have to get past all of us first. Now, don't want to watch you but we have got a plane to catch."

Wes smiled. "You've got my number, we'll meet up during the summer. Kurt, take care of him all right?"

"Of course."

Wes made a little motion with his head towards the door. Kurt looked confused for a moment then his Dad put his hand on his back and looked over his shoulder at Cooper.

"Oh." Kurt caught on. The Brothers needed some time alone to say goodbye.

Kurt was making sure that Wes had all the right numbers when Blaine and Cooper came out their arms wrapped around each others shoulders. Both had visibly red eyes.

"You go rest Bro, I'll be back soon."

"I'm going to stay to wave you off, then I'll go nap. Promise."

"Okay then Kid." Cooper said placing a kiss on Blaine's forehead.

"URGH COOP!" Blaine said wiping his forehead with the back of his hand.

Cooper gave a little laugh on his way to the car. Kurt went to stand next to Blaine as the car pulled out of the driveway. He was waving with a wide smile on his face but the instant the car got to the end of the road Blaine's hand reached out and grabbed Kurt's. The car turned and then was out of sight. Kurt stood there with Blaine in silence. He didn't want to rush Blaine inside, he could remember standing in the driveway of his old house watching as his Dad drove his Mom to the hospital for an operation. The neighbor had kept trying to push Kurt inside but he just wanted to be out their watching that road just in case they turned around and came back. He was going to let Blaine stay as long as he wanted, he couldn't know exactly what he was thinking but there was no way he was going to interrupt. He was just going to keep holding his hand so that Blaine knew he wasn't alone.

Eventually Blaine turned to him.

"Let's go in. I want to go to bed."

"Okay sweetheart."

Kurt was in the kitchen cooking a risotto when his Dad got back.

"Hey, did they make the plane all right?"

"Yeah. It's going to seem quiet for a few days now. How's Blaine?"

"He's upstairs, he wants to be alone. I sent Finn in when he got back but he asked him to leave."

Burt nodded.

"Just give him time."

"I know." Kurt said.

Burt gave a sigh. Kurt knew that sigh, that was a 'you're not going to like what I have to say sigh' he turned around to look at his father.

"Whatever it is say it quickly so I don't overcook the rice."

"You need to get back to school."

"He's still not okay Dad."

"I know, but he's out of danger and Carol's going to have the next couple of days off so he won't be alone."

"Dad."

"No, Kurt. I'll let you have one more day, but you've been off for a week now. I think the sooner you can get back to school with your friends the sooner you'll start to feel better."

"Me feel better? Dad, it's Blaine that got hurt."

"Kurt you have been through more in this last week than the majority of teenagers have to go through. Hell, you've been through more in your life than any teenager. It's time to get back to normal, you need your friends around you so that they can look after you because at the moment you're just concentrating on looking after Blaine and not yourself."

Kurt wanted to argue, but he knew there was not much point. His Dad was right, of course he was but that didn't mean that Kurt wanted him to be right.

"One more day?" He checked.

"Yes."

"But Dad, I almost lost him."

"Kurt, I know what it's like. Do you not think I hated leaving the house when your mum was ill. I was always afraid that every time I left the house I'd come back and she'd be gone. But this is not the same situation and when you spend the day at school and come back and see that Blaine is still fine then it's going to start becoming less scary."

"I don't have to like this."

"I don't expect you to."

"Okay, now get out of my kitchen whilst I finish dinner."

"Does that actually have wine in it?"

"Yes."

"And cream?"

"Yes, it's unhealthy okay? It's a one off."

"Thanks Kid."

"No beer tomorrow."

"But it's football night, I get one beer a week on football night."

"Well now you don't because this has wine in it."

Burt walked kitchen grumbling to himself. Kurt smiled to himself as he poured more of the non-alcoholic wine into the wok.

"Hows he doing Boo?" Mercedes asked.

Kurt turned around with a dramatic sigh and fell back against the lockers.

"His temperature is back to normal and apparently the wound is starting to heal again but he can still only get up for little amounts of time. He tried to have dinner in the dining room last night and half way through he had to go lie down. On the couch because he didn't have enough energy to make the stairs."

"Oh poor thing."

"Are you talking about Blainey Days?" Tina said walking up to where Kurt and Mercedes were stood. Kurt looked down the hallway and saw that Santana, Brittany and Quinn were also making there way over so he left off answering for a few moments so they'd be in earshot and he wouldn't have to answer the same question twice.

"Yeah."

"What does the doctor say?" Quinn asked.

"That he's doing fine and he should get up every now and again but because of the infection it's going to take longer to heal than before."

"He's out of danger?"

"Yeah."

"I knew he would be fine, I heard of this ting called Karma and it means you don't have to worry any more." Brittany said.

"I'm not sure that's what it means sweetie." Kurt answered patiently.

"Yes it does. Because Blaine has had a bad life right? I mean, he got made a slave right. And Karma is about things being equal so that now he's been stabbed that is all his bad stuff for life over and now everything is going to be really good because that's how things are going to be made equal. Plus like, all slave owners are going to be reincarnated as bears in Russian zoos."

"That is genius." Santana said. Kurt thought he saw some kind of look passing between the two of them, sometimes he wondered if there was something going on there but considering how things could be for gay women it was best not to ask.

"Finn said that nothing can be done about the guys who stabbed him. Is that right?" Santana asked.

"Uh No." Kurt answered a little distracted because his phone had just buzzed and he was reaching for it.

"If we can track them down me and some of my Lima heights homeys will go all ballistic on their asses. And I'm not talking your kind of homeys I'm talking Lima heights homeys."

Kurt hardly heard because he was reading a text from Blaine.

DR. visited. Everything fine. Beat finns's score on galaxy pop. Ate scrambled eggs. BORED!Love u.

Kurt smiled to himself.

"Oh, know that smile. What does he say?" Mercedes asked.

Kurt read it out.

"Well, Finn's going to be pissed off."

Kurt nodded as he typed a message back to Blaine.

Am missing you so much. I am going to kiss you so hard when I get back. Love u 2.

I'm looking forwards to it.

"Hey." Blaine said as Kurt ran through his door. It had taken every little bit of restraint he had to not break the speed limit on his way back. He'd dumped his bag on the floor and ran straight up the stairs and to Blaine's room where he threw himself on to the bed and kissed the stunned look off his face.

"Umm..."

Kurt pulled those delicious lips between his own and sucked lightly.

"Umm, Kurt.."

Kurt found himself nipping the plump bottom lip.

"KURT! Stop."

The tone in Blaine's voice made him pull away immediately. He felt like a blade of ice had been driven into his stomach. What was he thinking? Blaine had boundaries and he didn't want to push his them and ruin his trust. Or had he accidentally leaned against the wound in his side. A thousand thoughts were running through his head.

"I do need to breath occasionally you know." Blaine said with a laugh that made some of that ice melt.

"Oh, I thought maybe I'd pressed against your stitches"

Blaine smiled. "It's okay, I missed you too." His hand rested on Kurt's side and he pulled him close. Kurt raised an eyebrow.

"And that teasing text just left me thinking about kissing you all day... so.. come here."

Kurt smiled and leaned in letting Blaine kiss him again, just a little less heavy than he had been doing. Kurt found himself giggling slightly as Blaine's lips found his neck.

"Hey, that tickles."

Blaine didn't even miss a beat nipping lightly at the skin.

"Blaine, you had better not give me a hickey um..."

Kurt stopped thinking.

"Kuurrt Please! Please Please please. I'll be on my best behavior."

Kurt sighed and put his hairbrush down to look at his increasingly irritating boyfriend.

"It just feels a little too soon."

"I've been stuck in here for two weeks. I'm going crazy." Blaine threw himself back onto Kurt's bed with a dramatic huff. Kurt rolled his eyes at him. He stared in his mirror at the boy for a long time, he was moving a lot more easily. And he had begun to be up and about for a couple of hours at a time, and he did look a lot better, he was starting to get his usual coloring back. Kurt sighed.

"Okay then."

Blaine sat up and looked at him.

"Really?"

"Yes. We can get coffee. But we're going to go to the closest place even though their biscotti sucks."

"Done."

"And we're not going to stay there for long. We eat our there but drink our coffee at home."

"Totally agree! Just get me out of here."

"All right. But put some pants on." Kurt said. "I am not taking you out in yoga pants."

"They're comfortable to sleep in." Blaine explained as he got off the bed and headed out to the hallway.

Kurt picked up his hairbrush again.

"Ah it's so good to be out!" Blaine said throwing his head and taking a deep breath in through his nose.

Kurt couldn't help laughing lightly at the look of joy on his boyfriends face. He held the door open for him and Blaine practically bounded through the door. They joined the queue.

"I'm thinking I should try their deluxe hot chocolate."

"Classic medium drip for me. But I'm thinking the chocolate cake looks good."

"Hmm.. It does. I can't have both chocolate cake and hot chocolate that's like my calories for a week. I'm going to have to rethink."

"Treat yourself."

"Like you'd find me attractive with a muffin top."

"I would find you attractive with a muffin top and a bold spot because that's how much I..."

He stopped, his gaze focused behind Kurt. Kurt turned to see what he was looking at. The guy in front of them in the line was looking at them. Kurt found himself chastising himself. How could they still be acting so open in public when it had led to Blaine being stabbed. The guy staring at them was a few years older than them with spiky hair and a long black trench coat. His eyes moved downwards and Kurt could see him grimace.

"Let's go." Blaine whispered to Kurt. Kurt nodded and they walked quickly out the door.

"Sorry Kurt, he saw my tattoo. I forgot to put my wrist band on."

"It's not a problem."

"HEY!"

Kurt turned around automatically and briefly saw the guy who had been in front of them. He screamed as something cold and wet hit his chest. He looked down at the light brown sludge dripping down his shirt.

"SLAVES ARE PEOPLE! YOU ARE AN AGENT OF THE REPRESSION!"

"Oh my God Kurt! Are you okay? You could have burnt him."

"It's ice." The trench coat guy said. "And you don't have to act concerned for him. Don't worry brother, one day the slave trade will be over and he will get his comeuppance"

"Who are you?" Kurt asked staring at the strange man.

"Call me Star Child."

"Star Child? Why have you ruined my shirt. Are you crazy?" Kurt shouted.

"You are an agent of the repression. Slaves are people too. Every time that you hurt your slave you hurt yourself. If you chain him up then one day you will end up in metaphoric chains yourself."

"No, Kurt isn't, well he is my owner but he never treats me like that." Blaine said.

"Blaine stop talking to the insane person!"

"Really? Because that just sounded like an order."

"No, Kurt doesn't give me orders. He's just a little bossy at times."

"BLAINE!"

"Hey, he's cool. He's a abolitionist, I've never met one of them before. Except you and your Dad and now I guess all of your friends in Glee and Mr. Shue. So, I guess I've actually met a lot, but he's very outspoken and that's kinda cool."

"He's crazy. Blaine, this is Alexander McQueen. Alexander McQueen Blaine!"

"It's last season, and a little on the extravagant side." The trench coat guy said.

"This coming from somebody who calls themselves Star Child?"

"Exactly. Blaine, if you ever need anything my aunt is a doctor. Here's her card."

Blaine reached for the card and his eyes widened slightly.

"You're Doctor Sandra's nephew? She's amazing, she saved my life."

"Yeah, she's pretty cool. She's been looking after me these last few months. I had some trouble in New York."

"Ohio to New York is quite a change. How are you settling in?"

"Blaine, my shirt."

"It's different. I mean I haven't really made any friends yet but I guess it'll happen soon."

"Give me your number we'll hang out sometimes."

Kurt looked incredulously between the two of them.

"How are you having a normal conversation with the guy who just ice attacked me?" Kurt knew his voice had gone shrill but he didn't care.

"He's a little dramatic isn't he?"

"Star Child Ice slushied!"

"Give me the card back, I'll write my number on the back." Blaine handed back the card and star child scribbled a number on the back of it.

"Okay, I'll call you... Elliot."

"Thanks, and you can bill me for the dry cleaning... Umm."

"Kurt." Blaine supplied. "That's cool of you. Thanks."

Elliot tugged at an imaginary top hat and winked as he walked away leaving Blaine and Kurt watching him go.

"What just happened?" Kurt asked.

Blaine smiled and placed his hand on Kurt's back.

"Let's just grab those coffees and we'll go home."

"I can't believe I got coffee slushied."

"I know. Please Kurt, I'm getting a bit tired."

"Okay Hunny. You go sit in the car, I'll get the coffee's."

"Thanks." Blaine said.

Kurt looked down at his ruined shirt and tutted one more time before turning around to go into the coffee shop. 'I am so not letting him get close to that crazy person' he thought as he waited in the queue 'I mean, who calls themselves Star Child?'

Kurt was sat at the side of the choir room. Blaine was giving an amazing performance. He finished the song to an applause. Kurt watched as he glanced down at his hands. Kurt knew Blaine was a little unsure of what to do with the attention but as he started to cheer Blaine looked up and met his eyes. He gave a smile and stood up and bowed to Kurt. He then turned around to bow to the other side of the room and he was just at the right angle that Kurt had a view of Blaine's ass. He felt the breath escaping from his chest. That ass was so perfectly round, he wanted to just squeeze it.. No.. he couldn't think. That he gave a wide smile and crossed his legs as Blaine turned back to him.
