Disclaimer- I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho, and I'm not making any profit from writing and posting this drabble.
Warnings/Notes/Rating- This is the first Yu Yu Hakusho drabble I haven't produced from a drabble wars in a while. I also think it's my first attempt at something Botan/Koenma? Not sure about that as I wrote all kinds of crap years ago. I did write this for the Fandom Trick or Treat thing at tumblr and also for NightJasmine10. This ficlet is already posted at my tumblr (handle is dragonheart-butterflysoul if you're interested in following me there), and I'm just getting around to adding it to this drabble series. This ficlet is K+ rated. It's not graphic, and it's kind of AU-ish, post-anime/manga timewise I guess. Also, the Botan/Koenma-ness could be interpreted as friendship, rather than a pairing. I don't overstate or understate with my writing here. Botan's just tired from overwork, and it is implied Koenma is as well. There's also the fact that sometimes…we just need hugs, and we just need sleep. -shrugs- Maybe it's not more than that? Maybe it is? Maybe the drabble is also a pre-Botan/Koenma relationship or something? It's however you wanna take the ficlet in the end.

Drabble 29: Botan 1

Delicate, tapered fingers ran through long, aqua blue locks cascading down a pale neck and onto a pink kimono clad back. A tired sigh escaped heart-shaped lips. Her magenta eyes closed tight, Botan tried to get her bearings before she entered her boss's office to give report.
She just returned from ferrying souls for seventy-two hours straight—an unfortunate necessity since Spirit World had been so shorthanded of staff lately. Since Enma's regime fell and Koenma took the reins, Botan found herself running ragged—she completed ferry girl duties, on top of having to finish duties as Koenma's chief aid.
If she could just have a second to breathe…just a single second…and maybe a five minute nap…
The door to Koenma's office suddenly buzzed open and something hard crashed into Botan, the momentum knocking her on her butt. Furious, her eyes flashing, she prepared to give the one who knocked her down a piece of her mind, but she stopped short at seeing Koenma's haggard form towering above her, reaching down toward her in a beseeching, conciliatory manner. She barely registered him being in his adult form before he said, "I'm so sorry, Botan. Here, let me help you up."
Koenma didn't even wait for her to respond before pulling her tight into his arms, and she was suddenly speechless and flustered, particularly when he didn't let her go and buried his face against her neck…
Koenma stepped backward into his office, the door whooshing shut at that action. He made his way toward a little, red couch in a semi-hidden alcove of his office, somehow knowing where he was going, even without opening his eyes.
Botan still had no idea what was going on, but she didn't push him away. With another weary sigh, she just wrapped her arms around him, too.
He spilled onto the couch and re-positioned Botan comfortably across the top of his body. Botan closed her eyes again and snuggled up against Koenma's neck, much like he had done earlier.
"Get some rest, boss," She murmured.
"You too, Botan," Koenma replied, chuckling.
"Sure thing."
The two fell fast asleep with smiles on their faces.
