Hey everybody! Hope everyone's been doing well let me know what you think of this chapter!

Lana runs out the giant doors with tears blurring her vision. As she sprints through the gardens around the building she makes her way for the gate on the other end. She tries to jump the bushes but her feet and ankles catch some of the branches making her stumble on her landing but keeps going. She dashes around the gates and into the street before narrowly missing being hit by an oncoming car. She sprints off as the driver honks making her cover her ears. She runs as fast and as far as she can until she can't anymore. Clutching her chest she leans against the brick alley wall and looks around. Her breathing is erratic and she falls to the ground in a small panic attack. She covers her face before clutching her stomach again.

"…breath."

Lana looks up and shakes her head at Leo before he bends down and cups his hands over her mouth.

"Breath. Slowly."

She closes her eyes and does as he says and eventually her breathing regulates. Leo slowly removes his hands from her face and looks at her. There's a cut on her cheek and a bruise forming right below her left eye.

"Go. Away."

"No."

Lana opens her eyes suddenly and glares up at him. She tries getting up but Leo gently pushes her back down against and sits beside her.

"Even if you wanted to, you couldn't go anywhere."

She goes to argue but decides to just focus on her breathing.

"…how far did I run?"

"About 9 miles."

"And you kept up?"

Leo smirks at her and shrugs.

"What else do you think I did in the jungle besides run?"

"Good point."

They sit in silence for a long time before Lana sniffles almost silently. Leo looks at her sadly before wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"I'm sorry."

Lana looks at him before shrugging.

"You're the least of my worries Leo."

Leo looks at her quietly before she runs her hands through her hair.

"Where're your brothers?"

"Probably at home."

"You don't know?"

She looks at him incredulously and he looks back with an even stare.

"They just battled stone giants, and you. I think they can make it home."

Lana nods.

"…Lexi is probably freaking out."

"I'm sure."

Lana wipes at her eyes and shakes her head.

"I want to go home."

"You're there…"

Lana looks at him before he stands up and lifts her into his arms. She goes to protest but thinks better of it. He makes his way up the fire escape and gently opens the window to her bedroom before slipping in. He gently puts her down before she starts to rip the remainder of the armor off. She throws it different ways as she walks to the bathroom before taking her shirt off and stripping down. Leo haphazardly walks through the room and gathers the armor before putting it in a neat pile next to her dresser. The sound of the shower hits his ears and he looks around the disheveled room. How she lived in such a mess always confused him.

"Leo?"

"Yes?"

"I forgot a towel…"

He stares at the doorway where steam escapes from before walking out of the room..

"I'll get you one."

Leo walks through her bedroom door and into the apartment. He smiles slightly as he looks around remembering certain aspects about the space. The linen closet is right outside the door and he quickly grabs two towels before walking back into the room. He knocks on the already open door before entering so that he doesn't scare her. The steam from the shower erupts from behind the curtain and makes the air thick.

"Where do you want it?"

A bare arm reaches from behind the curtain and points to the rack. He does what she asks and goes to sit on the bed while she finishes. Lana listens to the bathroom door shut before covering her face and sliding down the tiled wall. She sobs into her hands and curls in on herself letting the scalding water wash the dirt from her body and swirl it around the drain. Her hands slowly fall away from her face, and her red inflamed eyes stare lifelessly at the drain before rubbing at her feet and pulling out the thorns from her skin. Blood mixes with the dirt and she rubs at her face before standing up and cleaning her hair. She winces as she moves but lets the water make her feel better. When she shuts the water off she wrings her hair out before wrapping the towel around her body. She takes a deep breath before stepping out of the shower and walking through the door. Leo looks up from his place on the bed and stares at her while he clutches another towel to his chest. She raises a brow before walking past him

"Two towels?"

"I'm dirty too."

"Right."

Lana walks past Leo whose eyes go wide as she slips the towel off of herself. Leo quickly snaps out of it and walks into the bathroom. When the door shuts he strips off his pads and steps into the shower. Before starting the shower he gently unties his bandana and hangs it on the rack. When the hot water hits his skin he closes his eyes and enjoys the feeling.

Lana pads around her room before throwing on a huge tank top and some spandex shorts. She wraps the towel around her hair before sitting on her bed and staring at the sheets. Water falls onto the bed making dark spots, and she touches her cheeks before realizing they're her tears. She wraps her arms around her legs and just stares at the wall letting herself cry. Leo eventually comes out of the bathroom, with no pads, drying himself with the towel. He stops when he sees her sitting so silently and stiffly. He pads over and gently climbs onto the bed wrapping an arm around her small frame.

"…it's going to be okay."

"You don't know that."

"I'm going to make sure it is."

Lana looks at him sadly before nodding. He hugs her tightly and lets her cry on his chest. Leo soothingly rubs her back and her wet hair while she shudders every once in a while. He throws the damp towel onto the floor next to his and says nothing. Eventually she lays back and takes Leo with her. She gently touches his plastron and traces the grooves and scars there.

"…you should go home."

"I know."

Neither one of them moves and eventually she looks up.

"Does Raph hate me?"

"For what?"

"For pushing him away."

"No."

"I'd hate me."

"No."

"No?"

Leo looks down at Lana and nods.

"You did nothing wrong. I think he's going to care more about the gash you gave him than you pushing him away."

She nods and curls up against him letting her cheek rest on the rough surface of his plastron. She winces as she turns her head and sighs.

"…everything hurts."

"I bet. You're going to have a nasty bruise on your cheek."

Lana nods and tears slip down her cheeks.

"I want it to stop..."

He looks down at her and watches her blink back more tears.

"I can't do this Leo...I'm not ready for this."

Leo caresses her hair before shaking his head.

"Yes you can…The hurt is what reminds us we care... It'll stop when it's supposed to. You're strong Lana. Your dad knew that. We know that. You're going to get thought this."

Lana lets more tears fall before leaning back to look him straight in the eyes.

"I have a favor."

Leo sits up slightly and stares into her blue eyes warily before nodding. Lana gets up quickly and disappears out of the room before returning a minute later with two glasses and a bottle.

"Lana?"

"For the next 24 hours, you're my friend. Nothing more. I'm going to make bad decisions and you are going to let me."

Leo stares at her as she pours a double shot into the glasses and downs one of them. Lana looks up at him silently offering him the dark liquid. He sighs before taking the cold glass and drinking down the strong liquid. She smiles slightly before taking the glass and getting onto the bed.

"…thank you."

"24 hours?"

"That's all I ask."

Leo stares at her before taking the bottle and taking a big gulp. Lana follows his lead and does the same.

"Whiskey has always been your vice."

"Better than my sisters."

"Is any vice worse than another?"

Lana shrugs.

"I guess not."

Leo nods and they sit and drink in silence.

"Are you still mad?"

"No. I'm done being angry. I don't have the resolve anymore. My dad is gone. I tried to kill my family, and destroy the world…you kissing me is the least of my shit Leo. Besides, we already talked about this. It's fine. I overreacted."

He shrugs and nods before taking another swig.

"Okay."

"I thought so."

"Friends right?"

"Like we used to be."

Leo chuckles slightly.

"Alright…Did you ever kiss Raph?"

"Excuse me?"

Leo looks at her before putting his hands up defensively.

"Oh come on, you can't be that surprised. We all thought he was the one you liked before me."

Lana rolls her eyes and takes another sip.

"We're just friends."

"Friends can mean a lot Lana."

Lana tries to keep her smirk down. She always liked Leo when he was like this. Not many people would believe her if she told them that in private Leo wasn't as uptight and innocent as he liked to make people believe.

"Ya well, our type of friends is just that. We helped each other when we were missing you. Cuddled. Nothing more."

"Good."

"Good?"

"I didn't expect him to make a move, but you never know…"

"Would you care?"

"Obviously."

"Why?"

Leo looks at her seriously.

"Are you kidding?"

Lana raises a brow before shrugging,

"It doesn't matter…not like that was any of your business."

"I think it was."

"You would."

Leo smirks and shrugs before handing her the bottle. She takes a sip and feels the liquid slide down her throat and into her stomach. The familiar lofty feeling she always got when she drank was starting to set in and she sighed contently. This is why she drank. It gave her a sense of freedom from everything. If her head could fly so could her resolve.

"What about you? Any pretty girls in Columbia?"

"Plenty."

Lana's back stiffens.

"Really?"

"Of course, but nothing happened."

"Oh yeah? Why's that?"

Leo looks at her seriously and takes the bottle.

"What's the point? You're the only girl I've ever wanted."

Lana stares at him and shakes her head.

"April."

Leo laughs and nods.

"You're right. We all had a crush on April, but there's a difference."

"Oh?"

"I never loved her."

Lana looks at him seriously. His eyes trace over her face taking in the swollen red eyes and the high cheekbones.

"…you don't love me Leo."

Before she knew it he was kissing her. He pushed her back onto the bed and cups her face gently. She closes her eyes and revels in the feeling before kissing back. Her arms run up his sides making him shiver at the touch. Her hands rest at the top of his plastron as her fingers curl over the edge. His hands travel down as they continue to kiss and rest on her hips where the top of her spandex rests. He breaks the kiss and looks down at her.

"Promise me."

"Promise what?"

Lana looks into his eyes before taking off his bandana.

"Promise me this isn't because of the alcohol…or because of what happened today."

Lana doesn't say anything for a while before nodding.

"I promise."

Leo smiles slightly and kisses down her face to rest on her collarbone. He nips at the bone and sensitive skin there making Lana moan. He continues down and pulls her tank top up revealing her toned stomach. He takes his time kissing each muscle and feeling her shudder before looking up at her face. Her eyes are closed and her arm is splayed on the pillow above her head.

"…I-"

"Just friends."

Leo stares intently into her now open eyes and nods.

"Just friends."
