Ciel's POV
We were so close. We almost got away with it. I felt Lizzy squeeze my hand harder, and I could hear her starting to cry. I myself wanted to cry as well. Looking up to see Claude behind that door was a nightmare come true. "And where do you think you two are going?" Claude said coming into the room, backing us further from the exit. "Don't you know it's rude to leave unannounced?" Claude said teasing us. I couldn't take it anymore. I would rather die than go back to that cage and continue serving Alois. I made a vow tonight, that I would keep Lizzy from suffering. That I would protect her at all cost, and I'm not going to break that promise. I stood in front of Elizabeth, and held my ground. I looked Claude in the eye. "You are pathetic." I said. Claude's demeanor changed from a joking to a serious face all in an instant. "Don't let your tongue get you killed, young Earl." Claude threatened.
"I'm no more scared of you, than I am of rabbits. You are a coward, along with that blond lunatic. You plan all these elaborate schemes and tricks, because you're afraid. Alois is afraid of me, and you are afraid of Sebastian. Admit it, you're weak and you can't beat him." I said. I could feel Elizabeth tensing up behind me. She squeezed my shoulder, she wanted me to stop talking. She didn't want Claude to hurt me. But, it was too late for that. Claude grabbed me by the throat and threw me hard against the wall. As I bounced off he grabbed me, and slammed me into the wall again and again. All the while Elizabeth screamed for him to stop. Claude finally let me fall to the ground, where he began stomping and kicking me repeatedly. I could taste the blood filling my mouth. I was sure at least one of my ribs was broken.
I didn't know what I thought I would accomplish with that little speech. It hadn't been very beneficial to me. Maybe while Claude is beating me to death, Lizzy can get away. I looked around the room and Lizzy was gone. I guess she had escaped after all. A small smile made its way to my lips, between kicks. At least one of us will live. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!" I suddenly hear Lizzy screaming, and then I feel drops of blood hit my cheek. I look up and there was a fire poker impaling Claude, through his abdomen. Elizabeth was on the other side holding the other end of the fire poker. "You little bitch." Claude choked out, blood poured from his mouth. "Come on, Ciel!" Elizabeth pulled me up from the ground. It wouldn't be long before Claude recovered from such a minor injury.
We fled down the hallway to Sebastian's room. Now that Lizzy was out of direct danger, I could use Sebastian's power once more. Elizabeth opened the door, and we rushed inside. Lizzy guided me to Sebastian's bed so I could rest. "Are you alright, young master?" Sebastian asked concerned. "Don't worry about me. Just kill Claude and take us home, and that's an order!" I commanded. My bruised and bloody body was beginning to ache terribly. "Yes, my Lord." Sebastian answered me. "Ciel are you alright?!" Lizzy asked sitting beside me on the bed. "I'm fine, Lizzy, thanks to you." I said holding her hand in mine. "You were amazing to stand up to Claude like that." I said. Elizabeth blushed slightly. "I would do anything for you, Ciel." She said. "Lizzy, in case I don't get the chance to ever say this again. I want you to know that I love you, I really do." I said, as I kissed her on the lips.
It had be a while since Elizabeth and I kissed like this. I forgotten how soft her lips were. She kissed me with the same passion I kissed her with. After everything we've been through that kiss was the best moment of our lives, that we could share together. I pulled away, and looked up at Lizzy she was smiling. It was the first time I had seen her smile in the past week. "I love you too, Ciel." She said hugging me. "How disgusting." We all turned our heads toward the doorway. Claude stood there with a scornful look on his face. The hole where the fire poker stabbed him, had heal. He had one intent and that was to kill two children and one demon. "This ends here, Claude. You will regret making a fool of me." Sebastian said, his demon energy rising. Claude didn't say a word, but his energy immediately began to surge. Sebastian was the first to charge out at Claude. They began to fight like savage animals. No one spoke or made a witty remark, just blows exchanged between demons. The sounds of fist connecting with flesh could be heard. Blood started to fly. It was unknown from whom the blood came from.
The two demons finally parted. Sebastian's clothes were ripped to shreds. He was bare chested, with cuts and bruises decorating his torso. His hair was unkempt, and his hand were stained with blood. Claude was missing sleeves from his coat and shirt. Buttons from his shirt were ripped off exposing his chest. His pants had many slits were he had been cut. His glasses had long since been tossed across the room. Claude charged at Sebastian, at an alarming speed. Both demons flew through the window of the room. Glass littered the room, and the demons continued to fight outside.
"Elizabeth." I called her out of the daze she had been. This was the first time she had ever witness a demonic battle. She had previously assumed Sebastian to be human. So I'm sure this was quite shocking. I was sure she had questions. I would have to explain everything to her later. "We have to get somewhere safer." I said, as I began to cough. My body rattled with every cough. I looked down at my hand I coughed in, to see blood. My condition was worse than I thought. "Oh Ciel…" Elizabeth said with such sorrow in her voice. "I will be fine, I've been through worse." I said. I began to cough again. Silent tears began to rolled down Elizabeth's face. "Hey, no more crying tonight." I said, firmly. "After everything that you have experienced with me, this should not be that surprising. You have to learn to be strong even through the worse, or you will cry every night as my wife." I said giving her a small smile.
"He's right. It's not time to cry, yet." We both snapped our heads to the door. Alois stood there, with a wicked smile on his face. I attempted to sit up, only to be forced back down by the pain that went through my body. Elizabeth looked angry. "The time to cry will be when all the flesh is ripped from your bones. Lady's first of course." Alois winked at Elizabeth. "You bastard." I said, trying to find the strength to fight Alois. It was simply not in me. "Oh Ciel, you know I think I will take that offer to fight you now. I'm ready, take your best shot!" Alois laughed, knowing I could not fight him. "This has been a fun week!" Alois said walking toward me. I was thinking frantically of how to stop Alois, nothing that was possible came to mind.
Suddenly, Alois cried out, and fell to the floor. I looked up to see Elizabeth standing with her fist balled. "If you want to hurt Ciel, you will have to kill me first!" Elizabeth said. "Lizzy…." I said in complete and total shock. Elizabeth began to speak, "As the wife of the Queen's watchdog, if he is unable to perform his duties, I will step in! If you want to fight someone Alois, fight me!"
