I think I did it right. Idk, I'm on a major sugar rush right now soooo...

There's enough sugar in my system to travel to the computer, then the rest of the universe.

Chapter thirty one

I sorted through our cabinets, trying to find the can of soup we labeled for Leo, either I was too short or too tired to see it. Casey then came into the kitchen, just the aggravation I needed. Why was he up at six A.M. with me?

"Looking for something wheat thin?" Casey asked sarcastically as he reached into the back of the fridge for the pitcher of water we had made from the snow. I turned and glared at him, I looked back to the cupboard and there I caught a glimpse of the soup, yes! I reached back for it but when I slid it along the shelve, it nicked another can, thus beginning a domino affect on all the cans as they attacked me from above. One knocked me on the head and then hit my foot, I fell to floor trying to deflect the never ending cascade of cans and containers. Casey laughed hysterically, almost dropping the water pitcher, I grabbed a can of peas and chucked it at him annoyingly. It hit him square in the crotch and he went down to his knees, spilling the water all over the floor.

"HA." I huffed, picking up my canned mess and lighting the stove.

"Good one wheat thin." He squeaked pulling himself up by the table's edge. I laughed internally and opened the can with my survival knife, which Don had handed to me the other day, on their last mission before the tunnel incident he had found the spot where I was attacked, and took the knife. Resheathing it, I poured the can's contents into the pot and let it sit while I helped Casey clean up the split water then got more from outside.

"You guys know it's only *yawn* six in the mornin' right?" A tired Raph asked as he took a seat at the table, his mask was tied sloppily on his head and he had yet to put his gear on.

"Yes Raph, well aware." I stated joyfully, knowing I was messing with a few of his nerves by not being submissive and apologizing.

"Hmf." He growled, massaging his neck which he had been complaining about. "So you convinced fearless to eat something. How'd you do it? What's your secret?" He asked, pointing at me accusingly.

"What? There is no secret-" I started, but Casey cut me off.

"There clearly is. Leo's not stupid, he knows that we have a limited amount of food, and he'd give up a years worth of food to make sure we'd have enough." Casey said planting a seat on the counter's edge. "There is no way, he just asked for food."

"Oh that's because he didn't. I told him he was going to eat, whether he was hungry or not." I stated stirring the soup.

"Then there's no way he just agreed." Raph said eating some acorns that were in dish on the table's center. "There had to be some kind of protest." He said with a mouthful of acorns.

"Well he did, no protesting." I said truthfully, putting some much needed salt into the soup after tasting it. The two snickered behind me and I glanced back at them, to see them sharing a look. "What?"

"Nothing." Casey said suddenly calm and serious with a smug grin.

"You guys are di-"

"Please Koda, no one wishes to hear your...choice words at this time." Splinter stopped me as he entered.

"-Daaarlings." I said in sarcastically nice tone, quickly recovering myself. They laughed and I stuck my tongue out at them and signaled with my hands that I'd be back for revenge. Splinter then curiously looked over my shoulder at the pot and then to the opened can on the counter by side of the stove.

"You alone, convinced Leonardo to eat?" He asked stroking his beard. I put my face in my hands.

"Why is this such a big deal?" I mumbled taking a bowl down and pouring some soup in it. I then walked for the exit but stopped and turned on my heels to face the three of them. "Look I'm leaving, with the soup." I said grabbing their attention and sort of waved the steaming bowl around. "If you all would like to witness this historical and much awaited event of Leo eating then you all may follow me, the tour guide." I half chuckled leaving for Leo's room.

I walked up to Leo's room quietly, and knocked on the door, waiting impatiently as the bowl began conducting the heat from the just boiling soup to my hand. I knocked again, receiving no response so I cracked open the door and stepped in. "Hey Leo." I greeted a now sleeping Leo, one good arm rested over his chest, I was in here not ten minutes ago and he was already back asleep. For someone who just spent four days sleeping, he needed a lot more apparently. I set the bowl down on the night stand and I sat in the chair that still resided by his bedside, facing it the opposite way so I could rest my head on the back.

"Leo." I called quietly, reaching over, lightly shaking his shoulder. He didn't even stir, I shook his shoulder little harder, "Leo, dude, c'mon." I said.

"Hmm?" He half responded.

"I made you some soup." I said tapping the spoon softly on the bowl's edge.

"Mmhmm." He mumbled, I chuckled at his sleepy responses.

"You gonna eat it?" I asked plopping my head on my elbow over the chair's back.

"Mmmyeah. Just... five more minutes..." He trailed off, I smiled then rested my eyes, I had stayed up late with Splinter last night and was well beyond tired. But closing my eyes led to dreaming and I was fast asleep before I knew it, the idea of trying to get Leo to eat left my mind. I didn't really have that much of a dream, it was mostly black, a few voices around me and a couple images of the guys and family. I had a lot of dreams about them lately, mostly of Brady and James.

The swimming darkness was chased away by Leo coughing, still with closed eyes I reached my hand to him, I pat his shoulder, I pulled my hand away, finding it covered in sweat, ugh Leo... I wiped my hand off on the bed sheet and straightened my posture in the chair as I opened my eyes. Leo was seemingly asleep, I looked at him concernedly seeing beads of sweat covered his skin.

"Leo. Buddy. Hey you awake?" I asked softly shaking his shoulder, yawning.

"Yeah." He groaned, slowly looking over at me with tired eyes.

"You feel alright?" I asked feeling his forehead which was warm.

"It's really hot in here." He said almost panting. I wasn't hot at all, it was actually a very comfortable temperature in here, something was wrong. Leo kept looking at me funny with a crooked smile on his face, confusing me, must be the fever, he's not seeing right. I stared into Leo's eyes a moment longer as something caught my attention, Leo's iris on his left eye had a strip pf brown through it. I don't think he had a mark in his eye like that before. Then again, he did have a nice shiner there, it was still visible but faded, I guess if you get hit in the eye hard enough it just might do that. He had a hazy look and seemed out of it, his face was flushed and he seemed in pain. Just then Mark poked his head past the door and stalked in, taking a bounding leap up onto the bed, he went to Leo's head and started licking his face. Leo smiled somewhat at the fox.

"H-hey Mark." Leo greeted the fluff ball weakly, that now lay next to him, Mark nuzzled Leo's cheek non stop while whimpering. Then he bolted off the bed leaving Leo and I confused, I used my sleeve to wipe some of the sweat and fox spit off Leo's face.

"I'm going to get Don okay?" I said standing.

"I'm already here." Donnie answered from the doorway with an angry fox growling and tugging at his foot wraps dragging him into the room. "I think this, belongs to you." He said bending over and grabbing Mark by scruff and handing him to me. "How do you feel Leo?" Donnie sighed as he stepped closer, I set Mark back on the bed, and he snuggled between the wall and Leo's arm.

"Warm...I'm warm, it's really hot here." Leo coughed closing his eyes. Don hummed to himself in thought as he put his hand to Leo's forehead then cupped his cheek.

"Should I open the window a bit..." I asked turning for the window, looking at Don for an answer who was staring at Leo in deep focus. "Don."

"Huh. Yeah." He waved at me, I went to pull up on the window, but it was frozen shut. I knocked it with my fist, the glass panes rattled and Don jumped a bit, the ice broke so I opened the window a few inches letting in a cool breeze.

"He okay?" I asked sitting back in the chair, Leo had kind of passed out.

"Yeah he'll be okay. I think just being awake right now is over working his body. He's really weak right now, he lost a lot of blood, he was sick, and he's healing, using any energy to be awake is probably exhausting him. We should just let him rest." Don said backing for the door.

"When he wakes up should we try and get him to eat somethin'?" I asked grabbing the now cold bowl of soup, which had obviously cooled a while ago, and stood up to follow Don.

"Mmmm. No. We should wait on that a bit, I think it would shock his system to eat. Maybe later though if he's feeling good, then yes some crackers, something light, that soup would be too rich for him." Donnie said holding the door for me as he flipped the light switch, it was one that affected all the room's outlets. He left the door open a bit so it wouldn't get too cold in the room and we walked out to the kitchen. I went over to the pot that was still there, grabbed a bigger bowl, dumped the smaller bowl's and the pot's contents into it and covered it with some tinfoil, placing it in the fridge.

"How's the storm looking Don?" I asked, stepping up next to him as he stood by the sliding door at the back of the kitchen, watching the never ending flow of white from the sky. He also had his T-phone out, and instead of weather, which I had expected to see on the screen, I saw a picture of my face from when I was sleeping on the chair in Leo's room, with some odd drawings on my face. He turned nervously to me.

"It was Raph, I swear, I-I just took the picture." He stammered backing away hands up in defense.

"Is that why Leo was staring at me funny?" I asked patting my own face.

"Probably... Yes." He said glancing away timidly. That's when I decided I'd show these guys who's boss around here when it comes to messing with people.

"There is going to be some pranking crackdown on this family." I said intimidatingly stepping closer to Donnie getting in his face and folding my arms, Casey, Raph and Mikey were on the list for spare time revenge. He stared down at me anxiously, being significantly taller than I. "I'm not a sweet, innocent April." I said in a slightly high pitch, nice girl imitation. "I grew up with four guys just like you." I said more serious and poked his chest. "I learned from the best and backing down isn't an option. You mess with me, hehehe, you'll get what's coming too you." I glared at him, knowing I had him where I wanted him, literally as he had backed himself into a corner and I was right in front of him. "Now. I'm going to go about my day normally, or at least it will appear that way. And when I feel like it and or you get on my nerves again. You'll never see me coming. Tell the others and you will be even further pranked. Because Raph and Casey are also on my prank list." I said so seriously I think Don was truly afraid.

He gulped.

"And one more thing you guys are kind of beat up, exhausted. Right?" I started again.

He nodded.

"Well I may wait until you heal, or do it in the net five minutes or even tomorrow, like I said, you'll never know when." I laughed knowing Don was kind of frightened by that. That was something my brother's used to pull on me or each other, sometimes they didn't do anything but kept you paranoid, sometimes for months. I wasn't sure which path I'd take, but it'd be great to watch. "See you later Don gotta get this crap off my face." I smiled and walked away.

After I finished washing the "I love pizza" and many other odd drawings that could not be explained off my face, I left the bathroom. It was about lunch time now, so what ever time I had been sleeping in Leo's room was at least a three hours. Leo's room was almost perpendicular to the bathroom so as I headed for the living room, I checked in on Leo. The room was cool compared to the rest of the fire heated house, but Leo seemed comfortable. I left the door slightly ajar and went out to the living room.

Mikey, Karai, and Raph were playing cards in front of the fire, Don sat with Casey and April on the couch watching t.v., a smile spread across my face. I joined in on the card games squeezing myself in between Mike and Raph, they were playing some classic go fish. Splinter and Kirby sat in some of the chairs gathered around the fire watching them intently.

"How's Leo doing." Raph asked.

"He's alright. The fever came back, but he's okay." I said picking up a few cards so I could play.

"Okay. We'll I'll go check on him later." Raph said.

"Raph yo, got any fours?" Mikey called out, Raph reluctantly flung said cards at Mikey. "Yeah boi. Get to go again. Koda got any-"

"Quick tell Donnie to duck." I said quietly but seriously.

"Why he doesn't fall for that stuff." Mikey questioned while every one around the fire looked at me with curiosity.

"Do it." I almost laughed but managed to stay serious. Mikey shrugged.

"Don lookout!" Mikey yelled as if a missile were headed for the couch.

Don spun briefly around, saw me, then instantly dove off the couch to the floor, screaming for Casey to do the same as he jumped. Casey then jumped off the couch and April followed, fearing her own safety, they all landed with a thud.

I broke out laughing and fell to floor. April diving from the couch was bonus.

"Koda, what? Why?" Raph asked.

"I don't get it, but it was funny." Karai chuckled cupping her hand over her mouth. I was laughing, practically rolling on the floor. They kind of laughed staring at my hysterical laughter spasm.

"I-I can't breathe!" I yelled, trying to sit up, but the giggles kept me on the ground. I fell onto Raph trying to stand.

"Am I missing something?" Raph asked annoyed pushing me off by putting his hand to my face sending me backwards.

"Yes!" Don yelled over the couch angrily at me more than Raph.
