Rick walked down the empty street following behind Carl and Michonne. During the fight the three of them had managed to escape together. He was grateful for that. But he had no idea what happen to Ell, or anyone else. He could only hope that she got out with someone else. She was to pregnant to be alone.

He saw Hershel get killed by a stay bullet as Glen and Maggie tried to get him into a car. The two of them were able to leave with Beth. He saw that much. So he knew there were others. In his heart he knew Ell got out. Maybe she was with Carol. She would take care of her until he could get back to her. Or Daryl, he had watched over Ell like a hawk in the past few months. Of course she got out.

During the blaze of gun fire Rick made his way to the Governor. He needed to know that whether he survived the fight or not, the Governor did not. After the two traded punches Rick finally got the upper hand and chocked the life out of him. Bloodied and black and blue Rick got to his feet to find Michonne waiting for him with Carl.

By the time it was all said and done the prison fences were down and it was over run with walkers. There would be nothing worth going back to. All he could do was go forward. The little town was twenty minutes away by car. By foot was another story. He needed to find a car, get there first so he could be sure it would be safe for Ell when she got there.

Ell was towards the end of her pregnancy. Hershel had said that she could deliver and day now. And unfortunately he wouldn't be there to help. Not to mention the fact that he had no idea if Lori made it out alive as well. How was he going to tell Carl if someone saw Lori get killed. His mind raced as they walked in silence.

Daryl got out of the back seat of the car and opened the drivers door. "I'm gonna drive." He knew his way around the back roads pretty well. Ell got out of the car without fighting him. She had to pee again anyway.

"Look away." She told him as she just went to the side of the road. There were no real trees close by and she didn't have the energy to walk to far. When she was done she went back to the car where Daryl was waiting with an open can of peaches. "I'll eat if you do to." She knew that if she didn't quilt him into to it he wouldn't eat.

"Fine." He smiled at her. She was just as pig headed as he was at times.

The two sat and ate their peaches before he turned the car around. "You think anyone else got out?" She finally asked.

"Yeah." His gruff voice offered little reassurance. But it was nice that he was trying, whether he believed it or not.

They cruised down the road. Daryl looking for the side roads that would get him around that herd. Ell looked out the window with a hand on her belly. He would look over from time to. Daryl had never seen himself as a father. Although he liked kids better than most adults. They were honest, no bullshit.

She caught him looking. Without saying a word she took his hand and placed it on her belly. At first he was completely unsure of the whole thing. But after a minute he felt movement. "Weird isn't?" She smiled at him. "You should feel it from the inside."

With his hand on her stomach he was distracted. When he looked back at the road he slammed on the breaks. "Shit!" The car screamed to a halt as it two walkers. It was another herd, maybe the same one. He didn't know, he just knew they had to get out of there.

"Back up." She looked behind them as he threw the car in reverse. It seemed like suddenly they were surrounded by walkers. He backed over three before he was able to get the car turned around.

Putting the car back in drive they watched as more and more of them came out of the trees. Daryl stomped on the gas as they hauled ass down the road. "Were gonna have to go further out to get around that herd." He looked over at her. Her face was flush as sweat began to form on her forehead. They were out of imminent danger, what was she so worried about? He would get them there. "It's okay."

"No it's not," She looked down at the flood board under her feet.

"What the hell you talkin bout?" He looked at her like she was crazy.

"I think my water just broke." She turned to him lost and helpless.

Daryl stopped the car again. Neither one of them had been through this before. They had never been with someone when they gave birth. The closet thing Daryl had ever seen was a litter of puppies being born when he was young.

Ell gripped the head rest and the handle over the window as a contraction set in, "oh Gooooooddddd." She gritted her teeth through the pain. Daryl quickly got out of the car and ran to the trunk. Grabbing everything he thought might be useful before returning to the front seat. Just as terror set in they herd the walkers as they closed in around them.

Daryl kicked one away from the door so he could close it, throwing the car in drive he speed away. "Here comes another one." She grabbed the handle again but this time she grabbed his vest with the other. After a minute she let go and looked at him. "The contractions are so post to further apart. This is happening to fast."

"Can't you slow it down?" Daryl looked for somewhere they could stop and hold up. There were walkers everywhere. He'd never seen so many of them.

"No I can't slow it down." She bit down on her lowers groaning as she reached out gripping his vest again.

"Hold on, I'm gonna find somewhere we can stop." Daryl sped down the road hoping that he could just get away from the walkers, find a garage or a house to stop at. He had no idea how to help her. And the truth was he was terrified. Being there when it happen was one thing. Being there alone with her when it happen was another. He thought he would have her back to Rick before this happen.

It seemed like it took forever, but they were finally away from the walkers. He just had to find a spot they could be hidden. When she began moving around he looked over at her. "What are you doing?"

"It hurts. Ahhhhhh," She cried out.

Daryl finally came to small town, and lucky for them the first gas station they came to had a garage. Pulling the car in he listened to her moan in pain as he pulled the large door shut and locked it. Once he was sure they safe inside he went back to her just as she was getting out of the car.

Putting his bow on the ground he grabbed a towel from the back seat. Ell started pulling her pants down. "I have to push, can you catch the baby?" She gripped onto the door as another contraction felt like it would rip her in half.

"I can't deliver no baby." Daryl didn't want to do anything wrong. The fact that he was standing there with her and she was half naked didn't feel right to him.

"All you have to do is not drop my baby..." she moaned again. "Daryl pppllleeeaassee." She cried. "It's coming out." Daryl dropped to his knees as she cried out and pushed one more time.

And with that the pain stopped, and the baby cried. Taking a few deep breaths she finally pulled herself together and turned around. Looking down at Daryl as she proudly held the baby. "You did it." She smiled at him. "Thank you."

Turning up the drama! Let me know what you think.
