Rare moments in life were to be appreciated and cherished, especially those that involved the heart and the soul. The kind that can only be described as love. Two bodies joined, locked together in an erotic embrace bathed in the soft moon's glow. As they gazed into each other's eyes besotted with passion and the deep emotions of their hearts, they both came to the same conclusion simultaneously; that no other would do, they belonged to each other wholeheartedly and were both committed obsessively to the pull on their souls.
The fluent movements of his hips drove the female under him wild and she writhed and called out his name with passion as he made love to her; he watched as she moaned out her pleasure as he impaled her over and over. His strokes deep and slow; he wanted the memories to linger, to last as long as he would be gone. He felt the emotions in his heart then as if it were a tangible thing that he could hold. He felt tied to her in such a way that surely he would be lost without her love and companionship.
While he watched their joined bodies he saw his glistening member glide in and out of her tightness and as her eyes fluttered closed in sensual bliss. He was amazed at how truly complete he felt. When both their climaxes hit and the emotions had them shaking, groaning and holding on tightly to each other, he knew then that he had found the love of his life, a precious gift, and one that he did not mind spending eternity claiming over and over.
She lie awake restless but tried not to move about too much because she did not want to disturb her lover's slumber; if he was aware of her uneasiness he did not let on. Her mind was consumed with the uncertainty of what lies ahead, and the feelings of doom and emptiness was suffocating with its consistency. She found herself gasping for air, breathing harshly as the unwanted sensation of fear tried to swallow her up.
"Kagome, calm down, you need to rest the journey will be long in the morning," the commanding but quiet voice of Sesshomaru assured her.
"I am sorry I didn't mean to keep you from sleeping, I am worried and I can't help how I feel," she said almost in tears.
He held onto her shoulders and turned her around, then studied her face with genuine concern.
"Kagome," his use of her name was soft, however his voice lacked the edge of sureness, dulled by his own felt sure that she must have sensed it, felt it in the tension in his body that he too was troubled, and that his own feelings must have transferred to her somehow.
Nevertheless he could not display such weakness, he had to calm her down because she still breathed rapidly and her eyes wild and filled with doubts. He tilted her head up by the chin that had lowered briefly so that she could see his face while he spoke. "I need your strength my koi to dispatch our enemies; our plans will only be victorious if you stay strong and without fear when the time comes."
Once again her silence was enough, and after awhile she responded. "Thank you," grateful to have someone to share the dark times with, someone who understood perfectly how she felt.
He held her as close to his body as he could to share his warmth and strength with her. He fell asleep after a short time but the act eluded her as her mind was once again filled up with the future and the unknown. Turning away quietly from him her eyes searched the darkness, as the moon's glow was blocked by thick dark clouds that mirrored her mood closely. It was the sporadic burst of light from the rear of mating bugs that softened the darkness and hence her mood; it was as if nature subtlety informed her that even in life's darkness light can be seen if you looked closely enough.
The morning had them leaving at first light, they had a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time. The Northern Mountain was their destination. Sesshomaru wanted to fly, it would be quicker, but he did not relish the idea of Kagome becoming sick again and puking on him. She had endured the majority of the journey the previous day hanging on tightly to him, and when she could not bear the quesiness of flight any longer, she had puked on him before they could disengage.
It was decided then although a little awkwardly to make the rest of the way on foot. The higher they climbed the colder it got, and the slower the priestess's movements. The demon lord had to slow his pace immensely so that she could keep up with him. This will not do, he thought to himself, because at this pace they would not make it to the top of the mountain before nightfall.
A cunning smile curved his lips and Kagome saw it and wondered what could have caused such an odd reaction from him. No sooner had she that thought, she was grabbed and enveloped in a white light that moved so swiftly her head swum. She opened her mouth in protest but it died on her lips as she was placed squarely on her feet in a matter of moments.
"Wow, so beautiful," she commented when the dizziness in her head subsided. She stared in wide eyed fascination at the green, windswept hills. There were pine and oak trees bent a bit from the continual westerly breeze. While in the distance the mountains rose dark and eerie in the light. The atmosphere clean and fresh, the air sweet with the smell of lush vegetation, though just a little faded by the upcoming wintery conditions.
He moved some distance away from her as she took in the breath taking view. She moved as well to the body of water close by that rippled softly as it was guided by the wind. The fishes swum just below a three feet drop into a pool surrounded by rock formation, weeds and flowering plants that thrived at the river's edge had her rapt attention, and Sesshomaru forgotten briefly. In truth she had always liked the outdoors and nature, and as a teen she had romanticized the idea of living in the country, out in the open with the man of her dreams. She smiled broadly, It still could happen, she thought feeling a sense of peace and hopefulness.
Nature with its beauty, earthy scent and tranquility had seeped into her bones, and she raked her fingers through the cool and clear water. The fishes did not seem to mind her presence at all, they did not swim away frightened, in fact they swum so near to her hand that she could have reached out and touched them if she had wanted to. Life was peaceful and the atmosphere serene. When they left this place again she would strive to hold onto this moment, this feeling of calm. Kagome promised herself, maybe not right away, but surely after their troubles were over, because it could not last forever.
Her reflection in the water was clear after the fishes swam away; she had shied away from her own image after seeing it three months prior and did not like what she had seen. At the time she still grieved and was depressed by a broken heart, the male that she loved had abandoned her, at least that was what she had thought at the time; and she had been too distraught and could not take care of her well being adequately.
The image shown to her now was the total opposite, she was not yet back to her normal weight, but she was healthy. Her hair was down, and longer than she'd remembered it being with its thick natural waves. Her eyes were bluer and had a natural sparkle, her lips full and pink, fitting perfectly in her heart shaped face. Her eyes widened at her own reflection, she had not realized how naturally beautiful she was up until now. Perhaps she was simply happy and her inner beauty shone.
Without saying a word he watched her as she gazed at her own reflection. He saw as her expression changed and knew that she realized just how gorgeous she was, and he was proud that she was all his, especially now that he had a guest. She hugged herself with her arms trying to ward off the wind, it had grown quite cold all of a sudden. She stood, turned around, only now just thinking of Sesshomaru. She was mildly surprised to see him and another male standing some distance away, and by the looks of things they had been watching her.
Saying nothing she approached them and waited for Sesshomaru to make the introductions, as after all, the demon beside him was the reason why they had made the journey in the first place. He was suppose to be her baby sitter until Sesshomaru returned. The thought brought a smile to her face which did not go unnoticed by the two males.
"Kagome are you feeling well?" Sesshomaru asked her softly and she responded a little nervously. "I am feeling just fine."
He looked at her thoughtfully while the male beside him stared at her beautiful face and kind eyes, Sesshomaru made the introductions.
"Kagome this is Koori no Tora, he is a friend and you can trust him like I do."
She shook her head and gave him a half smile. His chuckle was warm and easy as he gazed at her beauty, then he reached for her hand and took it to his lips and kissed it; letting it go gently he smiled and said. "You can call me Tora for short."
Kagome liked him instantly; he had an infectious laughter and was a gentleman. Not only that he was very handsome, but none could compare to her Sesshomaru, every male was lacking when compared to him. However, Tora was stockily built much like a body builder, he was shorter than Sesshomaru by about five inches, and had very pale skin with eyes the color of ginger, his face unmarked with high cheekbones and his nose straight and slightly flared at his nostrils. On his crown his hair was fiery red shot through with highlights of blue. He was a vey unique and exotic looking being.

On the other side of the region high above the clouds, a pensive demoness sat in her throne room with her dear friend and partner in crime stroking a large dark red jewel around her neck.
"Did you bring the crystals that I asked for?" She queried and eyed her companion in doubt. "As you are well aware we cannot fight my son with might, he is respected and feared by his men and they will not aid us, and the few militias we have would never be enough to defeat him," she advised and waited on lord Miffon's response.
"I am aware," he said after awhile, "and I have the crystals with me." He reached for a pouch that was tied to the belt of his hakamas and handed it to her. She grasped it greedily and licked her lips in delight.
"Oka," she called to one of her hand maidens, "bring the container that is on the desk in my study, and make haste," she barked out impatiently.
"Yes my lady," the young demoness replied quickly that stood at the door some distance away.
She hurried away to do her masters bidding. Returning a short time later she hugged a cylindrical glass bottle about eight inches in diameter and six inches high close to her boson, and within it was a lavender substance, wispy like smoke, swirling, receding and glowing eerily.
Lady Harumi took the unpolished and cloudy looking crystals from the pouch, unclasped the glass bottle and dropped the crystals into it carefully, one by one as lord Miffoon watched fascinated and suspicious at the same time. He was conscious of the fact that the demoness beside him was hailed as a sorceress amongst her peers, but in his mind she was a plain old witch, one that he himself was very wary of even though they were old friends.
As they watched the wispy supernatural strands of smoke enveloped the bottle now that all the crystals were inside it. The vapors turned from lavender to blue to black, and then finally red. The demoness closed her eyes and chanted shrilly summoning the dark forces to do her will; the bottle shook and trembled on the table briefly. The atmosphere grew extremely chilly as evil manifested itself among them, when she was done the container was clear and free of all substances except for the crystals which were now blood red.
"Now we have a fighting chance," she declared confidently, "my wayward son won't know what hit him."
