Chapter 29: Blood Shed

Fukiyose Seiri was cursing herself for getting into one hell of a situation. She had seen her instructor die in front of her, at the hands of a woman who now was keeping her locked up in K.E.T.G.. She had her hand's tied up, and was unable to move. She glared at the woman.

"Why?" was all Fukiyose managed to get out, in spite of the fact she wanted to say much, much more to the demon. The woman looked at her, only to smile.

"Why did I kill your instructor, well because he was disposable. Why do I have you bound, because you are merely a pawn in a much larger plan," The woman saw Fukiyose's anger emanating from her. "By the way, you can call me Albedo."

Fukiyose felt hopeless in the situation. She knew that Albedo was in control, and that there was nothing she could do. She wasn't even sure that Himegami understood her desperate call as she tried to run away from Albedo. But before she could think further, Albedo knelt down to her.

"You know, you remind me of myself when I was younger," Albedo said. Fukiyose felt the urge to puke, to be compared to this woman who killed so casually disturbed her.

"I was so full of energy, I was disciplined, I held myself in high regard, despite not being in the upper class," Albedo continued, disregarding Fukiyose's open disgust of the comparison. "But then fate had to intervene, and my life was turn upside down, at least that was what I thought at first."

"What you decided killing was fun?" said Fukiyose annoyed. Albedo chuckled.

"I wasn't always so open to killing. I did it to survive at first, but over time, after all the long years, it became enticing, a rush if you will. I made a game out of killing. But I suppose you disapprove of killing, don't you?"

Fukiyose nodded, while trying to figure out what was with Albedo. But Albedo pushes aside some of Fukiyose's hair, getting a clear look at her face and neck.

"I wonder, what do you think makes espers so special?" Albedo asked. Fukiyose struggled against her restraints. But Albedo grabbed her hair, lifting her up, causing Fukiyose to quit struggling.

"I don't know, maybe it's because we have power that others don't," Fukiyose answered, with Albedo laughing and setting her down again. Albedo then took out a knife.

"I wonder, do you truly believe that espers are the most powerful people?" Albedo asked. Fukiyose was about to say yes when she stumbled upon Albedo's words. Were there others who had powers, unrelated to espers? Her frowned garner a smile from Albedo.

"That's what I thought; you are certainly more open to the idea of their being others with powers, unrelated to this blasphemous city and its research," Albedo said. "So, how about we strike up a deal?"

Fukiyose felt sick to her gut. She just saw this Albedo kill her instructor, had her in binds, and yet she was offering a deal? She was silent, wondering what would be the nature of the deal. She sighed.

"Do I really have a choice?" Fukiyose asked. "I am in binds, I saw what you did to my instructor, and I know that even with me being an esper you could easily kill me like an ant." Albedo chuckled.

"Not really," admitted Albedo. "But I prefer to be civil. Just because I can kill doesn't mean I can't be courtoues." Albedo then slit open her hand, wincing at the sharp pain. She then approached Fukiyose, who was utterly confused by Albedo's actions.

Albedo then sucked up her blood, before sealing it with her magic. She then smiled at Fukiyose.

"Don't worry," she said, her smile becoming sadistic. "I promise, this won't hurt for long. Either it kills you, or you become just like me." Then she grabbed Fukiyose's head, tilted it back, and plunged her teeth into Fukiyose's neck. She interjected her blood into Fukiyose, which began the extremely painful transition for Fukiyose.

Fukiyose screamed, he nerves ablaze, her entire body feeling like it was on fire. She began to convulse violently, going so far as to hear her wrists, which we bound, snap audiably over her screams. She began to cough up blood, but instead of the usual deep red, it came up black. She continued to scream until she passed out, still convulsing and still coughing up blood.

Albedo watched on from a chair. She smiled, knowing that despite the violent nature of the transition, Fukiyose would survive. If she wasn't going to survive, he entire body would have turned into a bloody mess, to the point that anything to indenitfy her would be her hair, teeth, and finger and toe nails.

She quietly left the room, locking it, and beginning to head to the facility's foray, to await Kamijou's arrival. She pulled her phone out and dialed Magnus.

"Magnus, I got the girl to beg for Touma's help," Albedo informed. "So you will have to only deal with Kanzaki and Stiyl, maybe Motoharu if he isn't with Touma."

"Very good Albedo," complimented Magnus. "Now then, what is with Fukiyose? Is she being a good little hostage?" Albedo snickered at his question.

"Oh yes, considering that she is now knocked out," Albedo said, letting Magnus put the pieces together. He sighed when he realized what Albedo said.

"Very well Albedo, I take it she is going to make it through the transition?" Magnus asked.

"Of course, if she wasn't, she would've been a bloody mess that the Kiharas would have to explain. Afterall, they were kind enough to allow me to use the facility as the battleground, as well as using some of their lesser, unimportant staff as a meal," she said, giggling as she thought about the staff's terror as she consumed them one by one.

She loved the blood of terrified middle age women the best, it was sweet and supple, whereas men were a bit bitter, or in some odd cases a sour taste. She hated above all else the taste of disease blood, as it gave the blood a metallic taste, and in the worse cases, due to the radiation in some people, it made the blood burn and she would feel the radiation for months after having a taste of irradiated blood.

But she heard Magnus grow annoyed with her.

"Tsk, must you take pleasure in the demise of others?" he asked. "And how long with the Fukiyose girl be out of it?" Albedo checked her nails while contemplating the questions.

"Well, I am a vampire, so killing is so natural to me, so I don't shy away from killing," She began. "But also, I hate most humans, they are narrow minded creatures who has sought my death for millenniums. As for the girl, I don't know, maybe a couple of weeks, depend on how long the blood takes to convert her blood and how long it takes for her system to recalibrate to accept the new blood."

Magnus sighed yet again.

"Very well, once Touma is dead, and we got Index, I want you to keep tabs on Fukiyose and if needed train her in her new powers. It would be useful for some experiments…" Albedo didn't listen to the rest as she hung up. She may have respected Magnus as he didn't try and kill her like most other people did, but his willingness to experiment on vampires annoyed Albedo.

She slide the phone back into her pocket and head to the top of the stairs overlooking the foray; when Touma came in, she would have the advantage and she would make sure to take her time killing him. She smiled, for once Touma was dead, and she could go after Kihara Aki and kill her. And while young girl's blood may not be as mature at middle age women's blood, it was sweeter and more filling. She licked his lips hungrily, looking forward to the fight.

Kamijou Touma was running, following Aki to K.E.T.G., hoping to make sure Fukiyose was safe. He looked over to Misaka and her friend Kuroko, and they were determined. But when he glanced over to Motoharu, he was a little bit pale. He was about to ask when Aki stopped.

"We are here," Aki announced. She walked up to the glass door and slid her ID through the scanner on the door. It opened up, and Aki held the door open. Misaka and Kuroko quickly entered, while Touma took the chance to asked Motoharu his question.

"Motoharu, what has you so concerned?" Touma asked. "We faced off against the Seat of God, dealt with the Roman Catholic Church trying to destroy the city, and never had you paled. But here you are, almost panicking. So what is going on?" Motharu merely grabbed touma and led him in, with Aki coming in, closing the door.

"I hope what Kanzaki told me is wrong, and this is merely an incident with Fukiyose against another esper," Motharu said. Touma remained quiet after that, coming into an open foray. The group looked around the room, noticing that there was no one walking around, the lights were off, and it was unearthly quiet.

"Something is wrong," Misaka said. "Where are all the people, and why hasn't anyone tried stopping us yet?" Touma was about to speak up when they heard a cackle from the stairs. They looked up to see a face that Touma had only seen in a photo that Motharu showed him.

"Because I killed them all, well except your friend Fukiyose," stated Albedo, her eyes shining despite the lack of light. "I had been expecting Touma to arrive, but not all of you," She looked over to see Aki in the back. "Ah, the Kihara bitch is here, just my luck! I get to kill two birds with one stone!"

Albedo began to head down the stairs, a smile of greed on her face. She looked at the others.

"Well, let's see who else is here. Oh, the Railgun and her teleporter friend, and then finally Motoharu the esper-magician hybrid," cackled Albedo. "Oh, this will be all too sweet of an evening for me!" Misaka glared at her.

"What makes you think you will kill any of us?" Misaka asked, electricity arcing on her skin. "What makes you think you stand a chance against all of us?" Before Albedo could respond, Motoharu sighed.

"Well, I guess it would be because she is a vampire," Motoharu said. "Isn't that right Albedo?" Albedo chuckled, putting her index finger to her lips.

"Very good Motoharu, though I doubt the others recognize the significance of me being a vampire," Albedo noted. She looked over at Misaka. "For your information though, in the magic world, I would be the equivalent of being a Level 5 for you esper runt." Albedo's voice turn to one of wrath.

She jumped down the last flight of stairs, a terriable red aura forming around her body. Misaka shot various arcs of lighting at Albedo, only for them to glance off her without any effect. Albedo chuckled as she landed.

"You think that being alive for seven hundred years would've made me ignorant to your fancy esper powers?!" Albedo yelled, before going straight at Misaka. She formed a saber from her aura and slashed down on Misaka. Touma however jumped in front of the blade and raised her right hand to it, dispelling the blade with a shattering of blade.

She went to punch Albedo, only for her to dissolve into a red mist and appear right behind the group. She was laughing at their dismay. She then cut into her arm and formed a series of runes on the pillars in the foray and throughout the building. She smiled at the group, who were stunned at her ability.

"What the hell are you?!" Misaka asked, confused by Albedo's apparent lack of fear of the group, despite being outnumbered five to one.

"As your friend said, I am a vampire," Albedo said. "I have unlimited magic flowing through my skin, I am immortal, and I have no weaknesses! And by the way, with the runes I have placed throughout this building, you will not be able to leave, nor will anyone be able to arrive to save you!" She laughed, while Kuroko glared at her.

"Really, you think that is going to stop me?" asked the teleporter, who momentarily disappeared, before reappearing, coughing up blood. "What the hell?!" Motoharu rushed over to Kuroko, helping her stay on her feet.

"I suppose you are using your blood as a medium for your magic?" Motoharu inquired. Albedo smiled.

"Since you are all going to die, yes I am," she confirmed. "But trust me, I don't need my blood to use all of my magic. But it is my forte."

She formed a blade with her blood, and charged at Aki. She was within a few meters of Aki when Aki smashed her foot into the ground. The ground began to crumple, and Albedo lost her footing. She tried to recover and continue charging, but Misaka magnetized the iron beams that were in the concrete and smashed them into Albedo.

Albedo was thrown into the wall, spitting up blood from the crash. But she got up, and she glared at the group.

"Alright you little shit heads," she spat out. "Time to show you the true nature of my power." She quickly formed an aura around herself, which everyone except Touma began to feel the terror of her aura.

"Saguine171, the blood of my enemies shall flow through me!" she yelled. She quickly summoned runes under everyone, and it locks them in place. She then forms a large blade, and charges at Touma. He however knelt down to touch the rune with his right hand, dispelling it and quickly raises his right hand to counter Albedo's blade.

Albedo, not losing a beat, quickly began summoning more blood runes, all around Touma.

"Blood burn!" She muttered, and for a moment she smiles. But as Touma looks at her puzzled, her smirk turns into a snarl. "Damn your Imagine Breaker, apparently it keeps you safe from me directing your blood with my runes." She slashes at Touma with another blade, but he ducks and heads to unlock the others. He kept avoiding Albedo's attack, and got to Misaka. He hit her rune, and she glared at Albedo.

"Enough of your tricks," Misaka mutters, before charging up herself and unleashing a torrent of lighting arcs at Albedo. Albedo, so focused on killing Touma, barely had time to construct a magic barrier. Misaka looked over to Touma.

"Get the others out of whatever she had us in!" She yelled. "I will keep her busy!" She jumps to the side to avoid Albedo's attack, this time in the form of a blood lance. "Is that all you got?"

Albedo took Misaka's taunt as an insult, and quickly formed a series of runes around herself, forming a shield around her. She smiled as she turned her attention to Misaka.

"Let's see how you like this!" Albedo snarled, as she held up a ball of magic energy, launching it at Misaka. Misaka was barely able to doge it before it collided into a pillar, destroying it. Touma, who had just shattered the runes beneath Motoharu and Kuroko, looked up to see the ceiling begin to give. He saw Aki, who was still trapped by the blood run.

"I got to free Aki, but Motoharu, Kuroko, can you find Fukiyose, and quickly?" Touma asked, watching as Misaka was barely able to keep from getting attacked by Albedo. They nodded, but Motharu grabbed Touma's collar.

"Listen closely Touma," Motoharu started. "The only way to kill a vampire is to destroy its heart, so if it comes down to it…" Touma shook his head.

"She may try and kill us, but killing her isn't the right thing to do," Touma said. He looked at Albedo, who kept launching attacks at Misaka from the safety of her shield. "I got an idea, but I need you guys to find Fukiyose, and if possible, get her out of here!"

They nod, and set off up the stairs, while Touma rushes to unlock Aki. Albedo however sees this and reacts.

"Oh hell you don't!" she yelled, and quickly several razor sharp wires form a bush around Aki, who is still unable to move. Touma begins to shatter the wires, but Albedo turns her attention to Touma, launching a blast of magic at him.

He raised his hand to counter her blast, but she maintains the beam, laughing in glee.

"How long can you last while I continue my attack? I got ahold of you medical records, and found out that the night the tree diagram was destroyed, a large beam, which I presume to be dragon's breath, was used, and lasted for several minutes. Now, I am not using dragon's breath, but my magic is similar in power and form. So how long before your hand disintegrates?!"

Touma felt a shiver of terror, but Misaka quickly jumps into action. She quickly magnetizes the rubble from the pillar, and threw it in front of Albedo's magic beam. Touma uses this time to dispel the wires and unlock Aki. He grabs her and leaps out of Albedo's beam.

Misaka, Touma, and Aki all look at Albedo, who stopped her attack. She was sweating a little, but her face was contorted in rage.

"Why can't you just DIE!?" Albedo screamed. "All you had to do was die; then we can collect Index and finish our Magnum Opum!" Touma glared at her.

"Why do you need Index, and why must we die?!" He yelled back. Albedo sighed. Did they not truly not know what was going on. She shrugged, figuring she might as well tell her soon to be victims the truth.

"Well, since Death is coming for you soon, I might as well tell you," Albedo stated. "You and Aki need to die as it was our agreement with the head of the Kihara clan." Aki paled at this.

"Kihara Gensei wants us dead? Why?" Aki demanded. Albedo chuckled.

"Because you were interfering with Gensei's pet project, regarding some little girl, I don't know who, and frankly, I don't give a shit. But Magnus put me up to killing you two, and your friends came along, so they two will die." Touma raised his right hand in anger.

"So what does Index have to do with your project?" Albedo smirked.

"As you and your magician friends will have no doubt figured out, Magnus is trying to form a philosopher's stone, but in order to get all the magic required, you either need to use a saint, a vampire, or someone with 103,000 grimoires who can't use magic! So we figure that using Index and infusing the stone's power into me, we could finally create someone of unprecedented power!"

Albedo watch as the kid's face grewin disgust, and she had only told a partial truth. But they wouldn't figure it out, as they didn't think to ask the most obvious question; why not use her for the creation of the stone? Albedo began to laugh, only to see Touma rush her.

"What the hell are you doing?" Albedo question, and to her shock she saw him slam into her magic shield with his right hand, shattering it. He ducked, and she saw Misaka leveling her arm and magnetizing the path of several coins. Albedo was unable to react as the coins slammed into her at Mach 3, throwing her into the wall and shattering the wall.

She felt her bones shatter, but she forced her magic to repair the damages. She looked up and saw Misaka prepare another barrage. Albedo snarled, and began to charge her, forming with her blood a massive long-sword. She side stepped the barrage and lunged at Misaka, only to see Misaka quickly form a shield and duck behind it.

Albedo then focused her magic to energize the area around her, and destroyed Misaka's shield. She raised her blade again, only to see Touma from her left punch her with his right hand. She staggered, and turned to him, lunging with her blade. But he merely raised his hand to the blade, shattering it.

"You can't win!" Albedo yelled. She then grabs Touma and throws him into the wall, watching as he collapses into a pile. She turned to see Aki smashing her fist into the pillar, while Misaka began to fire a barrage of coins into another pillar. "Just what do you think you are doing?" Misaka grinned.

"Look above you," was all Misaka said before firing one final rail-gun blast into another pillar. Albedo looked up, only to see floor above her begin to collapse. She glared at them.

"YOU THINK THAT IS GOING TO STOP ME?!" Albedo bellowed out, before finally losing all restraint. She quickly surrounded herself with a highly destructive field of magic, instantly destroying anything coming with touching distance of her. "You can't crush me, and you can't kill me!" She then lunged at Aki, grabbing her by the throat.

Despite her best efforts, Aki can't think of anything to do to stop Albedo as she begins to tighten her grip around her throat. She tried to affect the sound entering the vampire's ears, but it doesn't work. She tried to make her skin too hot for the vampire to hold, but despite the burning smell of flesh, it fails. Albedo glares at her.

"I am going to enjoy this," Albedo said. She was about to snap Aki's neck like a twig when Misaka forms a blade and cuts off Albedo's hand. Albedo screams in pain, and Aki quickly reacts, punching the floor near Albedo, causing it to shatter and Albedo loses balance.

Albedo falls onto her back, and was about to get up when she saw the look of malice in Misaka's eyes. Misaka takes all the iron rebar from the debris and cocoons Albedo with it. Misaka continues to glare at Albedo, while she pumps several hundreds of thousands of volts of electricity through the iron bars. Albedo screams in pain, while Aki rushes over to check on Touma.

"All you alright Touma?" Aki asked. Touma opens his eyes.

"I feel like my arm is broken," he said, motioning to his right arm. "And my ribs hurt like hell." Aki nods, helping Touma to his feet. They begin to walk to where Misaka is when Kuroko and Motoharu teleport to where they are. They see Fukiyose, who is convulsing and Touma looks over to Misaka.

"Stop this Misaka," Touma saids, putting his right hand on her shoulder. Her ability ends, and Albedo is left in the iron grip that Misaka put her in, unable to focus her magic due to the extreme pain she endured. Touma knelt down to Albedo.

"What is wrong with our friend?" he asked, motioning to Fukiyose. Albedo chuckled, but it is weak and she coughs up some blood.

"Hehe, just put some of my blood in her," muttered Albedo. Motoharu glared at Albedo.

"Why the hell would you do that?" Motoharu asked. "You damn well know that espers can't use magic, so why are you trying to make Fukiyose into a vampire?!" Albedo glared at Motoharu, as she begins to force her blood to focus on repairing the damages that Misaka put her through, the pain slowly withdrawing from her system.

"Well, seeing as she isn't a bloody pile of flesh, hair, and nail, I think that it disproves your statement," Albedo said. "Also, how much longer do you think it will take for me get out of this and kill you all?" Motoharu chuckled.

"Well, thankfully, we can always destroy your heart," Motoharu stated. "And given how there is enough iron around you to crush your body to a pulp, along with your heart, I don't think it is too much of a risk." Albedo looked at Fukiyose, with a gleam in her eyes.

"Really now?" Albedo asked. "And what do you think would happen to Fukiyose if I were to die while she is in the transition period?" She held her breath, hoping the miserable idiots would make the mistake.

Motoharu was willingly to risk Fukiyose's life if it meant getting rid of a all powerful vampire, but Touma fell for Albedo's snare.

"It would kill her?" Touma asked, his fist clenching in anger. Albedo smiled; it had worked. The great hero would prevent his rational friend from killing her. Though Albedo knew that if she were to die, Fukiyose would be fine; she would continue the transition normally and become a vampire in her own right.

But Albedo had to hide her glee, as too much would alert the others to this bit of knowledge. She nodded, slowly focusing her magic on replacing the hand she lost to the Misaka bitch.

"Yes, my blood is running through her veins. If I were to die, it would poison her blood and kill her out right," Albedo said. "So how about you let me go, and we part ways? Look at it this way; you and your friends live, I live, no one dies."

She watched Touma loosen his grip, but she kept an eye on Motoharu and Misaka. They wouldn't be so willingly to let her go. She feels her hand return; now it would only be a matter of seconds before she could force her way out of this situation.

"No deal," Touma said. Albedo glares at him.

"What did you say?" Albedo ask, her left eye twitching in anger. Touma chuckled.

"Did you think that threatening my friend for your freedom was going to work?" he asked. "You are like so many power hungry people; too weak to hold your ground, so you threaten others to force your way into power. It's quite pathetic. And besides, you have us locked in here, with no chance of escape, as you said before." He pauses, before tightening his fist once more.

"However, if you think I am going to kill you, then you are wrong," he said. "I face many more desperate and dangerous people than you, but you shall fall like all the rest!" He began to charge at Albedo, despite the pain coursing through his body. He was about to throw his punch when Albedo reacted.

Focusing her magic on the iron on her chest, she pushes it out, towards Touma. She watches as they collide into his chest and throw him down to the ground. She then turns and controls Fukiyose, having her attack Kuroko while Albedo herself formed a blood circle underneath Misaka and Motoharu.

"Let the life in their blood drain fourth from their bodies, and let it be embraced by the one who devours blood!" yelled Albedo, and instantly, both Misaka and Motoharu collapse, coughing up their blood. She then summoned up all the blood lost, and formed a long-sword four meters long and with a serrated blade.

Albedo approaches Aki, who looked over at the others, helpless to do anything. Albedo raises her blade high above Aki, smiling at the young Kihara.

"Any last words before I wench the life from you?" Albedo asked. Aki remains quiet, her life flashing before her eyes as she watches in terror as the blade falls down. Her parent's deaths, her failure to stop Accelerator from becoming the monster that he was, seeing the clan collapse into chaos after the death of her uncle, and finally her failure to stop Uiharu from slipping down the very path of Accelerator.

Right before the blade fell, Aki let out in her anger a burst of sound, resonating all throughout the room. The blade that Albedo held shattered into a million pieces, the room begins to shake violently, and the stair case collapsed.

Albedo, feeling the building becoming unstable, weighs her options. While she could kill the ass holes, doing so meant that Fukiyose could be lost, and for some reason, Albedo wasn't willingly to let that happen. She looks over to her thrall, who was busy punching Kuroko senselessly.

"C'mon, we are getting out of here!" yelled Albedo to her thrall, and Fukiyose let go of Kuroko, obediently following Albedo out of the facility. Albedo and Fukiyose ran out, as the outer wall began to collapse. She smiled, and let go of her control over the thrall, letting Fukiyose to continue her transition unhindered. She picks her up, and carries her off, picking her phone up.

"Magnus, are you there?" Albedo asked. She heard him grunt. "Something went wrong I presume?" He snarled.

"You could say that," was all he said.

"Very well, once Touma is dead, and we got Index, I want you to keep tabs on Fukiyose and if needed train her in her new powers. It would be useful for some experiments…" Magnus was unable to finish as Albedo hung up on him. "God damn it," he muttered.

He looked over at Nigredo and Citrinitas, who were out of their usual common place uniforms and were in their battle dress. It consisted of simple black robes, but were lined with various alchemic ingrediants to allow them to respond to various threats quickly and with surprise.

"Alright, you know the plan," Magnus stated. "You two distract Stiyl Magnus and Kanzaki Kaori, while I go for Index and knock her out for extraction. You guys cover my retreat, and once I am out of sight, you two break off and disengage."

Both brothers nodded, and they began to approach the dorm from the front, while Magnus waited, preparing a number of incantations to allow him to avoid detection and be unscathed in his move against Index.

Nigredo and Citrinitas both approached the dorm, noticing the lack of people in the dorms. They then felt signs of a magic circle around the dorm, warding it against unwanted people. The brothers looked at each other, knowing that they were expected. They looked to the second floor, and saw Stiyl Magnus looking down on them.

"Now, I suppose there is no need for formal introductions, as we know who we are and what our goals are," Stiyl said. The brothers then saw Kanzaki Kaori approach, standing next to Stiyl. They looked at each other.

"I am Fortis931," muttered Stil calming, flicking away his cigarette and consuming it to form a fireball in his hand.

"And I am Salvare000," stated Kanzaki. The brothers knew that the declaration of their magic names meant that until either side succeeded in their goals, that this would be a fight to the death.

"We are Aurum079 and Plumbum082," The brothers announced. They immediately broke off, as Stiyl launched a fireball at their position. He quickly formed a flaming sword, and he advanced on Nigredo. Nigredo turned and pulled out a flask of uranium dust and threw it at Stiyl.

"Object, uranium, goal, half-life now," commanded Nigredo, as he plunged a acupuncture needle into his throat. Stiyl barely had time to avoid the blue rinse that appeared from the dust, as the uranium went through its half-life cycle instantly, producing a ray of radiation. He responded in kind.

"Ash to ash, dust to dust, squeamish bloody rod!" yelled Stiyl as he charges at Nigredo with his flame sword, while at the same time setting the bushes next to Nigredo on fire, blocking his exit. Stiyl bears down on Nigredo, who then whips out a piece of iron and gold.

"Object, iron and gold bar, goal, form sword of golden purity!" yelled Nigredo, and in his hand formed a short sword, stopping Stiyl's attack. He shoves back on his blade, causing Stiyl to stagger, and he pulls out steel ball bearings.

"Object, steel balls, goal, bombardment, target, Sityl Magnus, front!" The steel balls fly into Stiyl with the force of several cannonballs, slamming him into a truck. Stiyl staggers to get up, only to have Nigredo about to thrust his sword into his chest when Kanzaki parry the blow.

She swings her sword at Nigredo, and she managed to get him to back off. But Citrinitas reacts, by throwing a flask of hydrogen at them.

"Object, hydrogen, goal, detonate!" yelled Citrinitas. The hydrogen combust, and both Kanzaki and Stiyl are forced to seek cover from the attack. Kanzaki responds in kind.

"Seven flashes," Kanzaki mutters, and in an instant, both Nigredo and Citrinitas are surrounded by wires. Unable to move, they begin launching various flasks, trying to destroy the wires. But Kanzaki doesn't give them the time of day.

She rushes through the path she created, and strikes at the brothers with her sword. By infusing magic into her sword, she manages to get through their battle robes, and badly injured them both. Both brothers glare at her.

"Is that all you got, saint?" mutter Nigredo. He looks at her sword. "Object, sword, goal, shatter!" Kanzaki chuckles as his feeble attempt to shatter her blade fails. She lunged at him with her blade, thrusting it deep into his arm. He falls onto the ground, grasping at his arm.

Meanwhile, Magnus took advantage of the battle and managed to get to Touma's dorm, and he opened the door. He saw Index on her bed, looking in his direction. He smirks.

"Not so tough without your body guards," Magnus mutters. Index huffs at him.

"I wouldn't be so sure," she replied calmly. Magnus sensed Nigredo's arm being stab, and he winces. "I assume you are using a spell to keep in contact with your comrades?" she inquires. He nods.

"Well, at least you're smart," Magnus said, approaching her. "Now, how about you give yourself up and…" He was unable to finish as from his side her saw a large flash from possibly the biggest hand cannon he ever laid eyes on. His enchantments barely shrugged off the bullet, and he swung to face the threat. He saw a tall blonde hair young man, grinning at him.

"Not so cocky now, are you shit head?" snarled Takeru, and he fired off another 4 shots. Magnus however was awary of the threat, reacted apporiately.

"Zero impact," he mutter, and Takeru watched as his bullets failed to even break his shirt. Takeru threw aside his desert eagle, and charged at Magnus.

"Try that against this!" he yelled, throwing a punch at Magnus's chest. Magnus stumbled, the air being knocked out of him. But he regained his composure and shoved a needle in his neck.

"Dagger, nine inches," Magnus commanded, and a dagger formed in his hand. He slashed at Takeru, who easily sidestepped the slash and grab Magnus's arm. He rotated Magnus on his shoulder's axis, throwing Magnus on his back.

Not taking a chance for him to try some other fancy trick, Takeru kicked into the side of his body, sending Magnus to roll on the floor. Takeru closed the distance and began pummeling Magnus with his fist. He smiled while watching Magnus being unable to concentrate long enough to react to the situation.

"You ass holes are a whole lot of talk, but next to no ability," commented Takeru. "I imagine that is why you rely on someone much more powerful to back your plays up, but why isn't your little girlfriend here? Is it because you didn't want that fine ass of her getting damaged, did ja?"

Magnus's anger flared up with Takeru's statement, and he fumbled around, trying to get anything in his hand. Luckily for him, he managed to grab the desert eagle that Taker had casually thrown aside. He gripped it and shoved it just under Takeru's rib cage and fired the rest of the magazine.

Takeru flew off of Magnus, and lied in a heap, his blood staining the carpet of the dorm. Magnus stood up and leveled the pistol at Index.

"Now, obey my voice," snapped Magnus. "Fall asleep." Index, despite all her efforts, fell under his spell. Stepping over Takeru's body, he picked up Index, and proceeded to leave the dorm. He got to the railing, and saw Nigredo and Citrinitas were pinned down. He sighed, and shoved a acupuncture needle in his neck.

"Slam to the ground," Magnus commanded towards Kanzaki and Stiyl. They both fell to the ground, and were unable to get up. Magnus then walked down to see Nigredo and Citrinitas.

"You guys alright?" Magnus asked. They both nod, but Nigredo was still holding onto his arm. Magnus chuckled, looking at the saint and the pyro mage.

"I imagined that this would be much harder," admitted Magnus. "But apparently, not even a saint is much against a pseudo Ars Magna. So, forget everything." He then led Citrinitas and Nigredo out of the dorm parking lot, and they felt a sense of relief.

"Thanks sir," Nigredo said. "We were at their mercy until you intervened." Magnus shrugged the comment off.

"No problem, they are nothing to the one with the best understanding of Alcehmy," Magnus said.

"What did you say, you disloyal piece of shit?" asked a voice filled with hatred and disgust. Magnus turned and saw a young woman, about seventeen years old. Her skin was pale, her eyes blood red, and she wore a simple black clothes, with a golden cross on her shirt. She also had a simple blue rose in her hair line, something Magnus saw as she glared at him.

"Mind repeating yourself Magnus Flammel, corruptor of Ars Magna?" asked the most loyal disciple of Aurelous Izzard, Suzushina Yuriko. Magnus barely had time to react as she tapped her forehead, uttering her first command.

"Cranial explosion, Citirinitas," Yuriko uttered, and to Magnus's and Nigredo's horror, Citirinitas began to clutch his head, and a few moments later, his head exploded, covering both me in a shower of blood and his brain.

Nigredo, in anger, tried to rush to Yuriko with his pure blade, but she chuckled.

"Reflection," She said as Nigredo swung, only to shatter his wrist as the sword was reflected away from her. She began to smile. "My, have you guys gotten worse?" she asked. "Where's Albedo, I quite liked her, apart from being a vampire bit?"

Magnus, was forced to act, while Yuriko was in mid thought. He grabbed Nigredo, and threw out gold dust.

"Take us to our golden haven," Magnus commanded, and he, Index, and Nigredo teleported back into their safe house. He quickly laid Index in the room they sealed off, to prevent her from getting out. He then went to check on Nigredo.

He saw Nigredo grabbing various flasks, filled with many elements. Despite the broken wrist and the sword wound, his eyes were filled with fire.

"Just what do you hope to accomplish?" Magnus asked. Nigredo glared at him.

"DON'T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!" Nigredo yelled. "I just witness my brother's head explode, and by none other than that bitch YURIKO!" Magnus grabbed a hold of Nigrdeo by the shoulders and shook him.

"We can't do shit against her!" barked Magnus. "Not without Albedo, and not until we complete the Magnum Opum." He saw Nigredo still glaring at him, but the fire in his eyes began to relent. Magnus was about to sit down when his phone rang. He answered it, as it was from Albedo.

"Magnus, are you there?" Albedo asked. He grunted, not wanting to tell her what had happened. But she had to continue.

"Something went wrong I presume?" Magnus snarled.

"You could say that," Magnus began. "Now get your ass back here, we have a major problem."

Back at the K.E.T.G., Kuroko felt the girl that she and Motoharu had went out of their way to rescue release her grip and her, and follow the vampire Albedo. Kuroko, took in the situation, and realized why Albedo and Fukiyose were leaving; the building was collapsing.

She frantically ran over to each person, and began teleporting them out of the facility. She got Misaka and Motoharu first, who were coughing up blood. She then ran over to Touma, and she teleported him out to where she teleported the others.

She ran to Aki as a piece of roof collapsed and shattered Kuroko's legs. She screamed, falling just within reach of Aki. She grabbed ahold of her leg, and teleported Aki out. However, when Kuroko tried to teleport herself out, she could do it. She looked at the ceiling, which continued to collapse around her. She saw a large piece of concrete land near her, and she formed a plan.

She took a deep breathe, and touched the concrete, teleporting it to where her leg that was pinned down was. She felt the concrete displace the skin where her leg was, and she screamed in pain. But she was free now, and she mustered all her might to teleport herself to the others.

She teleported on the ground, her leg bleeding profusely. Misaka, seeing Kuroko bleeding, crawled over her.

"What happened?" Misaka asked, cradling Kuroko in her arms. Kuroko began shaking, and she felt the warmth leaving her body.

"I got you all out," Kuroko said. "That's all the matters, right?" The others look on in fear, with only Motoharu getting grip on the situation.

"Step aside," Motoharu instructs Misaka, and he takes a hold of Kuroko's wound. He begins to concentrate, willing his ability, auto-rebirth, to seal Kuroko's wounds and to begin the healing process. He begins thinking of the process of forcing the membrane across her wounds, but when nothing still happens, he slams his fist into the ground.

"God damn it, why can't my ability be used on others?!" he curses, and he wills his ability into motion. He doesn't just think about covering the wound, he imagines it being healed over.

When he thought of Kuroko's leg healed over, he sees his ability snap into action, and soon, several layers of membrane covering the wound, soon to be replaced by her own skin, and finally, a stump being formed. He smiled as the bleeding had stop, and Kuroko, while still in a bit of pain, wasn't screaming as bad as before.

He looked over at the others; Touma was slowly regaining functionality of his limbs after being slammed violently by Albedo, Misaka was a bit more pale and clammy after getting hit by Albedo's blood curse, as was he, only Aki was the one left relatively unscathed, though her knew better than to judge a person by their external injuries.

Motoharu sighed, and snapped his fingers to get the other's attention.

"Listen up," he began. "We all are badly injured, so we need to get to the hospital." The others nodded, and while Misaka helped Kuroko up and Aki the same for Touma, Motoharu attempted to call Stiyl and Kanzaki, but they weren't picking up for one reason or another. He began to panic, as if they weren't picking up, then maybe Index was captured.

Feeling desperate, he dialed a number he hadn't been forced to use in a long time. The phone dialed twice before the disgruntled receiver picked up.

"Who the fuck is bothering me at this very moment?" Accelerator growled into the receiver. Motoharu chuckled; despite the nature of the situation, Accelerator's reaction was so predictable that is was funny.

"Now is that a way to greet an old friend over the phone?" mocked Motoharu, getting up to follow the others to the nearby hospital. Heheard Accelerator sigh.

"It is when you are interrupting my precious time with my coffee," Accelerator noted. Motoharu never understood the albino's obsession with coffee. "Now, you are calling because you want help, what is it this time?"

"I need you to go to my dorm, and check up on two people; Stiyl Magnus and Kanzaki Kaori," Motoharu informed the unstable albino. "I can't get in touch with them, and I don't want to find out that me and four others got their asses kicked about for nothing." He heard Accelerator laugh.

"Oh, just how badly did you get your ass kicked?" Accelerator asked. Motoharu decided to use his curiosity as a bargaining chip.

"I will tell you, only if you check up on those two people I mentioned," Motoharu said, setting the condition in place. He heard Accelerator sigh.

"Fine, fine, I will check on these idiots. By the way, what do they look like?" Accelerator asked, and Motoharu quickly described the duo, hanging up to end the conversation. He sighed as the group walked into the hospital. Various hospital staff quickly ran to each of them, and Motoharu felt himself collapse, tired from the blood loss and getting his ass kicked about like a puppet. He black out, seeing a nurse kneeling down to him, checking his pulse.

Author's Notes: Well now, I hope the chapter name was fitting. Let's see, how many deaths were there? There was the facility staff (let's say ten), then there was Fukiyose's instructor, and finally Citrinitas, so twelve deaths, but only two were noted.

However, while there was no Uiharu, there is a lot to begin linking the alchemists to Uiharu, and soon we shall see the connection lead to an epic battle. The battle will probably take a couple of chapters, so when it begins, make sure to grab a bowl of popcorn. But let's discuss some things about this chapter.

During the fight with Albedo, Aki managed to simulate a earthquake and destroy several pillars by punching them. The reason for this is that her ability, wavelength modification, would allow her to transfer her kinetic energy and adjust is wavelength to reach the resonance frequency of the structures. But this is a Level 4 ability, so Aki has returned to her former glory!

A note about the fight scenes with magic, I know they were weak, but that is because describing magic can be very lengthy, it's also hard to decided what is and isn't possible, and since both vampires and alchemists are rarely touched upon in the universe, I was treading unknown waters. So in future scenes with the magic side, I will be taking precautions and have a sheet made up describing what they can and can't do for each person.

Finally, we have Suzushina Yuriko, and before you ask, yes she is Accelerator's sister, but how she became an alchemist and how she became separated from Accelerator will be touched upon later! But for a treat, I am intending to make her as crazy, if not more crazy than Accelerator, but in a way that if any of you played Borderlands 2, you will instantly recognize her personality with a certain crazy mother fucker. But who that is, well I shouldn't say. At least not now, not until you've earned it.

So, my question today is this; if a person from the Index universe got dropped on Pandora, who would fare the best?

And as always, please favorite, follow, and review!
