Hey, another update. I'm doing a lot of updating on this story mainly for one reason: to start another part of this saga. Probably X and Y, but I'm not sure.

Amy47101 does not own pokémon.

The Beginning with Leaf Green

"I had a vision of your arrival." the gym leader, Sabrina, said to Leaf as she walked up to her. Slowly, the gym leader opened her eyes. "I sense worry and fear. Perhaps something has happened to a friend?" she stepped down from her perch, and walked across the battlefield to address Leaf formally, staring intently at the younger girl. "You came here to battle because you are not good at showing your emotions to other people. You're scared and worried and unsure right now, and you're going to turn that fear, worry, and uncertainty into fuel for victory. Correct?"

"I heard you had psychic powers." Leaf responded.

"Yes," Sabrina said, looking off to the side. "I've had them since I was a child. It started when a spoon I carelessly tossed, bent. I dislike battling, but if you wish," suddenly, she disappeared and was across the battlefield. It came quickly to Leaf that it was teleportation, a Kadabra in front of her. "I will show you my powers!" Leaf grabbed the pokéball at her belt and tossed it in the air, unleashing her Pidgeot.

"Steel Wing!" Leaf ordered, watching as the wings of her flying type became shiny and metallic, and slashed through the psychic type. Leaf raised an eyebrow, seeing that it was a one hit KO. This would be her sixth gym battle, and never once had she had a one hit KO in a battle. There must be some sort act going on...

Without a word, Sabrina threw another pokéball into the air. Instantly, a Mr. Mime popped out. Leaf flinched, feeling her skin bristle slightly. She was never one for Mr. Mime's or Hypnos. Any other pokémon she could deal with, when it came to those two... Ugh.

"Steel Wing!" Leaf ordered, hoping for the one hit KO again. This time, she was not so lucky.

"Confuse Ray!" ordered Sabrina. Mr. Mime stopped faking that it was pressing its hands against the wall of an invisible box, spun his hands around in quick circles, watching as a purple ray shot out at the quickly approaching Pidgeot. Leaf ground her teeth as her pokémon began flying in circles, swirls in it's eyes.

"Pidgeot, snap out of it and use Ariel Ace!" Leaf said, hoping the simple move that her pokémon has known the longest would be able to hit. Thankfully, it did, but her Pidgeot did a u-turn and slammed itself into the wall. Leaf ground her teeth and returned her pokémon, fearing that she would hurt herself even worse if she didn't. She grabbed her next pokémon, and threw it in the air. "Venusaur, Razor Leaf!" she ordered as her faithful partner came out, sharp leaves blasting at Mr. Mime. This sent the pokémon back a little, but still remained standing.

"Barrier." Sabrina said calmly. Mr. Mime waved its arms around, and a glass-like barrier appeared around it. "Calm Mind." she said again. She smirked, and placed a hand on her hip. "Baton Bass." Leaf scrunched her eyebrows together, remembering what that specific move did: Taking all stat changes and passing them onto the next pokémon.

Venomoth popped out, fluttering above Venusaur. Leaf was slightly taken aback by this, considering that Venomoth was a bug and poison duel type, whereas Sabrina was a psychic type specialist.

"Gust!" Sabrina ordered. Leaf ground her teeth together as the powerful wings whipped around her pokémon, causing serious damage, even pulling some of the leaves from the bulb on Venusaurs back loose, whipping them across the gym.

"Sunny Day!" Leaf ordered, hoping to maybe unleash her quick and powerful Solar Beam attack. She was glad that the Sunny Day did come through, the temperature in the room intensifying and growing warmer with each passing second. Now it was Sabrinas' turn to grind her teeth together. She wiped her arm across her forehead to get rid of the unwanted sweat and ordered her next move.

"What will happen after this?" Sabrina mused from the other side of the battlefield before smirking. "I already know. Signal Beam!" Sabrina ordered, watching as the multi-colored attack hit Venusaur, successfully knocking him out. Leaf returned her fallen started, and smirked.

"Flareon!" she said, throwing the pokéball into the air. "Let's put that Sunny Day into action, Flamethrower!" Leaf grinned as the powered up fire attack consumed the bug fluttering above her. This super-effective attack knocked out Venomoth in one hit. Leaf smirked triumphantly as she sent out Mr. Mime again. "Quick Attack, before she can use Baton Pass again!" Flareon sped forward, immediately draining the little HP that Mr. Mime had left. At this, Sabrina stared curiously, perhaps even worriedly.

"Could it be... the future I saw... was it wrong?" she mumbled as she brought out her final pokémon, an Alakazam.

"Ready, Flareon?" Leaf asked her pokémon, who responded with a mighty roar coming from the small pokémon. "Flamethrower!"

"Future Sight!" demanded Sabrina. "Calm Mind!" At this point, Leaf knew that Sabrina was getting pumped about this battle, changing from the calculating woman to one who fought on instinct. Her psychic powers could not predict what was to come, and that was what excited her the most.

"Let's try out this new move, Flareon!" Leaf said with a determined grin. "Fire Spin!" Flareon activated the move, and suddenly, a twister of flames circled around her. It spun, faster, and faster, when suddenly, flames began swirling around Alakazam as well, catching it off guard, throwing it in the air and slamming it down once the flames died down.

"Fire Spin, now here's something I don't have to predict." Sabrina said cooly. "Calm Mind!"

"Lava Plume!" Leaf ordered, the last attack on her mind, ready to be ordered from her lips.

"Calm Mind, once more!" Sabrina ordered. "Now..."

"Last Resort!"

"Psychic!"

The two orders came out in union, thus being unleashing in union. That was why Leaf ordered her other three attacks first, and Sabrina all those Calm Mind attacks. All to let out the strongest possible attack, and now they were colliding. There was an explosion that nearly sent both trainers flying off their feet, but in the end, the winner was obvious. Once weak and believed to be useless stood tall and strong over the fallen form of Alakazam. Flareon, like she was so many other times with her new trainer, reigned victorious.

"I get it..." Sabrina said slowly, returning her pokémon, watching as Leaf complimented her Flareon. She shook her head with a smirk, and walked up to the victor. Leaf looked up from her kneeling position, and then stood tall and proud, holding Flareon in her arms. "Your power... it far exceeds what I foresaw... Perhaps it isn't possible to fully predict what the future holds?" she paused, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "I failed to accurately predict your power. That means that your power is beyond my psychic ability. What a rare, special child you are. You deserve this, the Marsh Badge." Sabrina passed the golden badge to Leaf, who beamed at this. As she clipped it to her bag strap under the Soul Badge she had recently earned from Koga.

"You know," Sabrina continued nonchalantly. "I think you're hiding a secret, other than the exact way of how Obsidian Green died. No one else knows this secret, and not even I can tell what it is, it's buried and protected so deep within your mind." Sabrina paused. "Perhaps you should share that secret. You never know what will happen when you do."

"You're lucky, Fire Red." a doctor said while Leaf, Gary, and Dayna gathered around his bedside, him being awake and alive, despite having IVs in his arm and not able to leave the hospital for a few days. "This young lady," he nodded towards Dayna, who had bandages wrapped around her head, diagnosed with a 'minor but not entirely fatal concussion'. "Very much saved your life with the medicine she made."

"Wouldn't be the first time." Fire said with a grin. "So when can I leave?"

"Maybe by dinner today. Luckily, the transfusion was successful, but you may experience some side effects of dizziness, weakness, confusion, clamminess and are liable to nose bleeds and easy bruising. I suggest that when you are released, you keep from overexerting yourself. May I also say it would be intelligent to keep someone with you at all times, in case of sudden side effects."

"Done." Fire said, then turned to Dayna with his silly grin. "Dayna, you're hired."

"Alright, I'll go write up your paperwork and send you on your way." the doctor smiled one of those smiles that seemed trained onto his face, and walked out. Fire stretched his arms above his head and grinned.

"Freedom at last!" he exclaimed, falling back into his pillows. "You guys didn't call my Mom or Dad, did you?"

"Truthfully," Leaf tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "It never crossed our minds with all the action."

"Good." Fire said, much to the surprise of the three teens in the room. "Parents are way to overprotective." he clarified. "I practically had to beg them for a journey, and got away with giving them a phone call every two days. They find out about this," he slid his thumb across his throat. "The adventure of Fire Red would officially be dead." he paused. "That rhymes!" he exclaimed, his face lighting up like a little kids'.

"I'm just thankful that you're alive." Dayna said quietly. "I think we almost lost you there."

"Pain must've brought him back." Gary said jokingly. "Who would've thought it've came from little Dayna?"

"I didn't think you had such knowledge on that sort of thing." Leaf said. "It's surprising, really. That's real talent."

"Um, yeah." Dayna said, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. "My mom taught me most of the stuff on the plants, and it was basically everything from there."

"Hey, since we're on the subject, lets talk family." Fire said pushing himself up into sitting position again. "I told you about my crazy overprotective parents. Now it's..." he moved his finger from Leaf to Gary, his finger landing on the latter. "Your turn! Take it away, Gare-bear!"

"Don't call me that." Gary said.

"I'd bet all my money in my wallet that if Leaf called you that, you'd be fine with it." Fire said, mischievousness evident in his voice and on his face.

"My parents died in a car crash when I was little. My sister was attending a contest in Hoenn with my grandfather and I was in the car. As you can see, I survived, but was struck with amnesia and don't know anything outside of what Gramps and Daisy told me." Gary said quickly and seriously, as so to avoid Fire's accusation. There was a heavy silence in the room after this.

"Um, my Mom is dead." Dayna said. "She died at childbirth. Having my brother when I was five. But he died only a few hours after birth due to immature birth and organ defects. My Dad blamed me most of the time, and began drinking. Our relationship, it got, um, extremely abusive. First verbal. Then physical." she paused, fiddling with the hem of her shirt, obviously uncomfortable with the story.

"Dayna, if you don't want to continue-" Fire started.

"And one night, he just had to much to drink, and, um..." she looked down, as if contemplating what she wanted to say next. She let out a shaky sigh, and lifted up the hem of her shirt, revealing at least six pale white and jagged scars across her stomach. She looked down, as if ashamed, and lowered her shirt. "It got out of hand." a heavy silence and another shaky sigh from Dayna. "He tried to make it sound like it was self defense, so I had to testify against him in court. Eventually, it went from 'for reason of self defense' to 'reason of insanity and under the influence'. He got a lesser sentence, but it was assured that, from then on out, my uncle is my legal guardian." there was a heavy silence as Dayna bowed her head down.

"I'm sorry." Leaf said, shaking her head. "That's horrible."

"What kind of low life bastard does that to their kid?" Fire said in disgust, shaking his head. Gary just shook his head.

"So we know about Gary and myself," Dayna said cheerfully, trying to drop the subject of her past. "Now there's just Leaf." Cue all eyes on Leaf. She shrugged.

"Um, the last gym leader of Virdian City was my Dad, and my Mom owns a successful flower shop and produce stand." Leaf swallowed. "As Dayna and Gary knows, my Dad was murdered by Team Rocket, and then we moved to Pallet Town."

"I remember seeing a news program on that." Fire said. "Sorry that happened though."

"It's fine." Leaf said. There was a heavy silence, and Leaf stared at the floor. Should she tell them the secret that she and her mom kept hidden for so many years? The other member of her family that also left? Should she? "And also..." cue all eyes on her again. "Um, I have another member of my family. A sister. She's five years younger than me."

"I never knew you had a sister." Dayna said.

"Where is she?" Gary asked, doing some quick math in his head. "She should be nine years old, right?"

"In truth, I never knew I had a sister either." Leaf said, remembering Sabrinas words from earlier in the day. Perhaps you should share that secret. You never know what will happen when you do. "At least, not until I was thirteen."

"How come?" Fire asked.

"Because when I was seven, making her two, she disappeared from our backyard and was never seen again."
