Jo and Charlie were surprised to see Ben was already asleep when Dean plumped him down in Lisa's room. He and Jo had decided to switch room so Ben would have more room.

"Damn." Charlie said, "what the hell did you do to get him so tired."

Dean smiled proudly as he answered truthfully. "I don't know. We went to the music store, I brought him some cassette tapes, and took him out for pizza. One minute he was singing along to one of his songs, the next he was out like a light."

"He never falls asleep in the car. Maybe he's getting sick." Jo glanced towards the bedroom nervously. "I'm going to go take his temperature."

"Jo he's fine. We did a lot today."

"I don't know Dean." She said hesitantly.

Dean put his hand on his best friends shoulder, "Joey he's fine. He was ok the whole time I was with him and he is fine now. There's no need to wake him up, he's just tired."

"Fine." Jo said giving in and plopping down on the pull out couch.

Charlie sat down next to her and asked "what did you guys do today?"

So Dean told them everything they did, leaving out the part about losing him, then they watched tv for few hours before going to bed.

Dean slept for about two hours before being a tap on his forehead woke him up. "Whaaa?" He said groggily.

"I don't feel so good." A little voice whimpered.

"Then go tell your mother Ben."

"I can't. She'll get mad at me."

Dean rubbed the sleep out of his because he guessed he wouldn't be going back to sleep for a while. "Why?"

"Mommy said I can't drink fruit punch! But I did, when we got pizza! And now I don't feel well."

"What hurts?" Dean asked as turned on one lamp and picked up Ben setting him on the bed.

"My head and my tummy feels weird."

"Well kiddo you're burning up, but that has nothing to do with drinking fruit punch."

Ben got under Dean's blanket and said "but what about my tummy! That's has to be because of the fruit punch."

"Listen kiddo the fruit punch has nothing to do with it." Dean ran his hands through his hair, he wasn't expecting to do any of this, and it showed. "Do you know where you Charlie keeps the medicine?

"In the bathroom under the sink but I can't take any of it."

"Why?"

"It tastes yucky."

Despite the situation he was in Dean smirked a little. After his mother died and when John was unfit to be a father Dean would have to be a parent for Sam. He remembered countless times he had to convince his younger brother to take medicine. He never quite mastered how to do it without an argument though.

"Listen buddy." Dean crouched down next to his son. "I know it tastes bad but it'll make you and me feel better."

"How will it make you feel better?"

"Well I don't like seeing my friends sick. It makes me sad."

"Oh."

"So will you be a good friend and take the medicine."

"Fine." He huffed. "But only because I don't want you to be sad."

Maybe Dean has mastered the art of making little kids take medicine, maybe he had just forgotten.

By the time Dean got back with the medicine, a spoon, and a juice box (not fruit punch...just incase it was the fruit punch) Ben has crawled out from under the blankets complaining he was cold.

"After you take the medicine you'll feel better."

"Then hurry up." He said crankly, "let's get this over with."

Dean gave him the medicine and was getting ready to lie down on the floor when Ben yawned and asked "will you tell me a story."

"Sorry kiddo I'm not much of a story teller."

"Please Dean!"

Dean sighed from the floor. "Once upon a time Humpty Dumpty took a great fall. All the town people tried to put him back together but it didn't work, or something like that. I don't know Ben, the end?"

"That was weak."

"I told you i'm not much of a story teller."

"Well." Ben asked yawning again. "What does you mom do when you're sick."

Dean huffed out a laugh, "she never told me stories."

"Then what did she do?"

"My mom use to sing to me. She'd sing until I fell asleep."

"Then sing to me."

Dean knew his offspring wouldn't fall asleep until he did, so with a loud sigh he got up from the floor and sat on the edge of the bed. "What do you want to hear?"

He shrugged. "I don't know sing whatever your mom would sing to you."

The older Winchester got really into his singing and hadn't realize Ben had fallen asleep until he was halfway through "Hey Jude," it wasn't until he completely finished the song that he realized Ben had fallen asleep leaning on him. Not knowing if he was a sound sleeper or not Dean didn't want to move so, although it was uncomfortable, he fell asleep like that.

The next morning Charlie was the first one up. When she walked into the living room she thought the scene was too cute not to photograph so she took out her phone and took a picture. She then went into the room where Jo was sleeping.

She jumped on the bed waking up her blond friend.

"Hmmm what?" Jo sleepily questions. "Where's Ben?

"He's with Dean, but you gotta get up and see this. They are too cute?"

Jo yawned and tried to wipe the sleep from her eyes as she stands up.

"Come on slow poke! Hurry up before they get up." The redhead practically pulled her friend out of bed and into the living room.

At first Jo couldn't understand why her friend was so frantic about her getting into the living room. I mean what could they be doing that was so damn cute that she had to get up right that very minute. That kind of thinking ended for her as soon as she saw her son sleeping on her father's shoulder. It was adorable, and she was so happy to see father and son bonding but at the same time she was a little bitter. Dean was so good with kids, if he had maned up sooner this could be a normal thing and not such a big deal. She quickly gets rid of that thought though because Dean and Ben are too cute. She too takes a picture and giggled with her friend at how adorable they are. She was going to have to get this picture framed.

Sorry this chapter is late, I honestly have no excuse, I just forgot yesterday was Friday.
