Chapter 34-Waking Up to Bad News

After a few minutes when the shock wore off and Danny and Robbie came to terms with Dean's prognosis, the two brothers were finally able to see their sister. As they walked to Noel's room, both men were busy with trying to tell their sister what happened to Dean and one of the twins. I mean how do you tell someone that not only is their love of their life at risk of dying, but so is one of their babies?"

"Man do you know what to tell Noel?" Robbie asked his brother with a sigh. He still couldn't believe that all of this was happening.

"We just tell her the truth and that's it. There is no since of lying to her when she is going to find out the truth anyways. All we can do is just comfort her and tell her that everything is okay to be okay. And speaking of telling the truth, I think that you need to tell Noel what you did. It is only right and you need to take responsibility for what you have caused," Danny said scolding his brother.

Robbie put his head down and said, "I know and you do have to rub it in my face bro. I know that messed up and even if Noel and Dean want nothing to do with me, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to them."

Danny turned to look at his brother and said, "You better man, because when we go in there, Noel is going to be devastated by what we have to tell her." With that the brothers took a deep breath and went into their sister's room.

As soon as they walked in, they saw their sister lying there in her bed looking like she was sound asleep. Walking slowly into the room, both brothers sat on opposite sides of her bed and took her hands into their. What they didn't know was that Noel was sort of awake and closed her hands around them.

"Hey guys," she said with a sleepy voice as she opened her eyes.

"Hey sis, how are you feeling?" Danny asked his sister softly. She looked good considering that she just had two babies.

Noel smiled and said, "I'm feeling okay, but I will be better if I can see my babies. Have you guys seen them yet?" She only managed to see them for a split second before they were taken away to the NICU.

Robbie looked at his sister and smiled, "Yeah I saw them and they are so beautiful Noel. Maybe when you are feeling up to it and they are stable, you can go see them." It was then when he realized what he said when he saw Noel's eyes widen.

"What do you mean when they are stable Robbie? What is wrong with my babies? Are they okay?" Noel said beginning to panic. She didn't know what she would do if the twins were sick and she would more than likely blame herself.

"Noel just came down okay, everything is going to be okay," Danny said trying to calm his sister down. "One of the twins had a little trouble coming into the world, but everything is going to be okay."

"What is wrong with my daughter Danny? All I remember is the nurses and doctors scrambling around the room and then they took the girls away. I was so scared and confused that they had to sedate me apparently," Noel said as her heart started to race.

Danny gave Noel a small smile and said, "Well Robbie went with a nurse when the twins came out and she told him that Twin B wasn't breathing and that she was really blue. Thankfully they got her breathing again and she is currently being monitored closely. Unfortunately they would know if the lack of oxygen will impact her in anyway. All you need to do is be strong from her Noel, besides I think there is something else that we need to talk about."

Noel looked at him with tears pouring down her face, "What else can you possibly tell me Danny? I mean one of my babies is sick and it's all my fault!"

Hearing that made Danny mad, "Hey don't you dare say that it's your fault Noel. You did nothing wrong alright. You did everything that you were supposed to and this freak accident happened. In time you will see that I'm right and soon you and Dean will be able to hold your daughters and be a prefect family."

"That still doesn't make me feel better Danny. I just want both of my daughters here with me now. Not only that, but I want Dean here too since he missed their birth. Even after everything I still can't believe that he missed their birth," Noel said in disbelief. She thought that Dean was always going to be there with her no matter what.

"That's what we need to talk about Noel," Robbie said knowing that it was only right that he told his sister about her boyfriend since he caused this whole thing. "You see shortly after you went into labor, Danny sent me a text saying that Alex was at your house. That's when I took off as fast as I can to try to stop anything that Alex was trying to do. However when I got there, there were cops everywhere. Apparently Dean and Alex got into a fight and they left the scene before the cops there."

Noel sat there taking everything in and then said, "If that's true then where is Dean at? Not only that, but why would Alex be at our house? I thought he was on the run from the police?" This whole thing was getting confusing.

Robbie just looked down and said, "Look Noel this isn't easy for me to say, but as I was talking to the cops, I heard a call about an accident come over the radio. It was a motorcycle accident and the more the details came out, the more that it sounded familiar. That's when I rushed over to the scene and umm…that's when I umm…that's when I saw Dean, Noel. The call that came over the cop's radio was about Dean. Apparently a truck more than likely Alex's hit Dean as he was going through the intersection and it hit him real bad."

"No you're lying Robbie. Dean isn't hurt and he is on his way to see me and the babies. How could you even say that?" Noel said almost angrily. She couldn't believe that her brothers would make up something this horrible. She just summed Dean not being there as he turned off his phone and is probably at home safely sound asleep.

"I wish to god that we were lying Noel, but it's true. Dean was admitted here shortly before the twins were born. The doctors say that he might recover, but they are so sure," Danny told his sister as he felt her grip his hand tighter.

Looking at him with tears in her eyes, Noel asked, "What is wrong with him Danny? How bad is it?" If it was real bad, then she didn't know how she would cope if she lost him. How was she supposed to raise two kids all by herself?

Danny sighed and said, "Well according to the doctors Dean has no severe head trauma from the accident which is good. However he had some severe internal bleeding and they had a call in a specialist to deal with his leg that they thankfully managed to save. However there is something that requires our immediate attention."

"What is Danny? Please tell me I can handle it," Noel pleaded with him. She took Danny's advice and decided that for once she was going to be the strong backbone for her family that they so desperately needed at this point.

"You see Noel from what I was able to get from the crash site after Alex hit Dean with his truck, was that as he walked up to Dean who was trying to crawl away and he ended up pulling out a gun and shot Dean right in the back," Robbie said explaining everything that he encountered last night.

Noel just looked at her brothers in shock, "No, no please don't say it. Please don't tell me that Dean is paralyzed." She couldn't imagine that happening to Dean because that would mean the end of his wrestling career that he held near and dear to his heart.

Danny got up from where he was sitting and took his sister in his arms. "Hey it's going to be okay Noel. We won't know if he is paralyzed until he wakes up and even if he is not, he might have a limp for the rest of his life. Like I said though, everything is going to be okay. You'll have me and Robbie here to help you guys out every step of the way."

"Danny is right Noel, we will be there for every step of the way. I'll do whatever I can to help you out with whatever you may need and I will prove to you guys that I'm the brother that you always wanted me to be," Robbie told her knowing what was coming next.

"What is that supposed to me Robbie? You are already the brother that I want you to be. Why would you think otherwise Robbie?" Noel asked very confused at her brother's change of character.

Robbie just looked at his sister with tear filled eyes and said, "Because I'm the one that set Dean up."

Oh man it ends just when it was getting good. I feel so bad for Noel right now. Not only does she wake up to find that one of her babies is sick, but she also has to learn that Dean is on the verge of death as well. So folks what do you think, is Dean going to live or die? Should Danny and Robbie go after their Dad and Alex? Or should they wait for Dean to get better?
