Naruto's steps slowed as they rounded a familiar bend in the road. Up ahead he recognized the bridge and knew they were in the right place. "This is right around where I found you. Your bag should be here somewhere."
Kagome nodded, feeling anxious. "I remember passing by here."
He jogged away and each of them set about poking through the underbrush that flanked both sides of the road. Kagome noticed the bright afternoon light was slowly waning into a warm green-gold that preceded the sun's descent. Not much time.
"Aha!"
Turning, she saw him pull her hefty pack out from the foliage and she sagged against the nearest tree with a grateful smile and dewy eyes. Maybe my luck is about to change a little bit… thanks to you.
