Last time, the Red Lotus Alchemist, Zolf J. Kimblee, found an ally in Greed, a Homunculus once sealed away by unknown forces, and the two joined forces to break out a group of unique prisoners once called Black Ops #86...
Meanwhile, Sora was attacked by Larxene, who toyed with the Keybearer's emotions while confessing that Leon, Aeris, and the rest of the Restoration Committee were imprisoned along side Namine! Using her method of teleportation and electric strikes, Larxene proved to be more than a match for Sora. But Kairi stepped in for him and fought off Larxene's onslaught! A sudden aid from an escaping Lust convinced Larxene to retreat.
Edward awakened and lead the way out for the others...

Chapter 145: Surviving the Collapse
Ed helped Sora up and asked, "Can you walk from here?" Sora answered, "Funny, I was going to ask you the same question after that-…uh…'guy' beat the snot out of you." Ed felt his chin and said, "He nearly beat the jaw off of me, whatever those guys were, we're clearly gonna need more than Alchemy and the Keyblade against them."
"Hey guys, am I doing all the work or are you boys ready to help?" Kairi asked as she carried Alphonse over her shoulder like a basket. Edward then said, "It's official, that chick's not human." The group head for the exit, when suddenly-.
(CHOMP)
They noticed someone in the dark, finishing a meal…
"…hee-hee."
The figure came into the light…
-And was revealed to be the Nina clone Tucker was holding a while ago, except she was clothed in a black, red, blue and purple skin-tight outfit, a red jewel was imbedded in her chest, her pupils were a bright bluish-green color, and her hair was longer than it used to be!
Edward was startled to see the creature, so he approached her, "N-Nina?" Sora then grabbed Ed by the shoulder and said, "…Kairi…told me about you and Tucker, Edward. I have questions about that, but for now, I can't just let you approach whatever that thing is. Nina died a long time ago, that's NOT Nina."
Kairi suddenly noticed blood on the clone's lips, as if she was recently eating something…
"…EDWARD…EDWARD-EDWARD-EDWARD!"
The group was startled, and then Kairi said, "Guys…she was eating something. What was she eating?" Sora, Kairi, Edward and Alphonse looked behind the Nina clone and saw something hidden in the dark…though they couldn't make out what it was, the shapes made it clear what the clone was eating…
"T-Tucker…and the other clones…"
Edward then backed away, but suddenly-!
"(giggle) RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"
(CHOMP)
"EDWARD!"
The Nina clone's eyes changed into serpent-like eyes, then her teeth changed into pointy-icicle-like fangs and bit into Edward! Sora swung his Avenger and batted the cannibalistic girl away and said, "WE'RE GETTING THE HELL OUT OF HERE!"
The group rushed out of the lab, but the Nina clone stood back up and raised her hand, and slowly, her hair moved…
Meanwhile, Armstrong was leading Maria Ross and Denny Block into the building. Block asked, "Sir, how long do we have until the entire place falls apart?" Armstrong replied, "Try not to dwell on that Sergeant, right now, the boys could be in grave danger, and our time would be better used in the rescue mission than in thinking about sudden death!"
(KRA-KOOM)
Just then, a HUGE boulder came down behind them and chased them!
"DEATH IS SIUDDEN MAJOR, DEATH IS OFFICIALLY SUDDEN!" Block cried.
"JUST KEEP RUNNING AND PRAY IT DOESN'T CATCH UP TO US!" Armstrong said.
Inside a hallway, Sora, Edward, Kairi and Alphonse retreated through the hallway, hoping to find an exit.
Sora asked, "So Edward, how long before we reach the exit?" Edward replied, "It should just be a few minutes away!" Kairi then commented, "Well I've been hauling Alphonse here for 'a few minutes' and I'd hate to say it but I THINK THE SQUIRT'S LOST!"
"IT'S-NOT-A-GOOD-TIME-TO-REFER-TO-MY-SOFT-DRINK'S-SIZE-LADY!"
(r-r-r-r-rumble)
"I-I heard something brother!" Al said. Ed then asked, "What is it Al?" Alphonse answered, "It sounds like something's coming in front of us!"
Sora suddenly noticed something from behind…
"More like something's coming BEHIND us! LOOK!"
The group turned around and saw red and brown strands of hair reaching out for them! Edward realized, "It's…hair?" Kairi then said, "Whatever it is, I think we should just avoid questioning it's existence and running for our lives!" As soon as Kairi ran, Sora and Edward followed!
The hair reached out to grab Edward; luckily, Sora was quick to slice it away, but to Sora's shock, his Avenger was taken and pulled into the massive hair! Sora then said, "The mutant hair's got the Keyblade!" then Edward yelled, "We'll buy you a new one, NOW SHUT UP AND RUN!" Sora argued, "YOU CAN'T JUST 'BUY' A KEYBLADE, that sort of weapon kills Golems, without it, Crimson'll kick our asses-!" Ed then said, "-Didn't stop ME from beating the crap out of that narcissist mushroom!"
"YOU BASTARDS WANT TO HOLD ALPHONSE INSTEAD?! THEN CAN YOUR DAMN FLAPPERS AND HUFF-IT!" Kairi ordered.
Just then Alphonse noticed Armstrong, Ross, and Block heading their way! Al then said, "Guys, it's the major, and I see Lieutenant Ross and Sergeant Block with him!" Sora then waved, "OVER HERE, OVER HERE!" But Armstrong pointed to the right and said, "OVER THERE, OVER THERE!" It was at that moment that Ed, Sora, Kairi and Al noticed the giant boulder rolling behind Armstrong and the others!
"RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY!" Kairi screamed as she and the others ran alongside Armstrong and his team!
"WHY IS THAT BOULDER AFTER YOU?!" Edward asked. Armstrong replied, "WE CAN'T KNOW, WE CAN'T POSSIBLY KNOW!"
Suddenly, Sora noticed a pathway to his left, "THIS WAY!" The group ran through the hall, and then Sora noticed a path on his right, "OVER HERE!" Sora then noticed a stairway, "UP THIS WAY!" Ed yelled, "WE'RE GOING TO DIE IF THIS KEEPS UP, AND THE BOULDER'S NOT THE ONLY THING TO WORRY ABOUT!" Kairi then said, "You mean the entire place collapsing around us?" Ed answered, "SHADDAP, I MEAN THE OTHER THING THAT'S CHASING US!"
Alphonse suddenly noticed something coming up before them, "THE HAIR, IT'S COMING!"
Sora and Edward noticed two pathways and yelled, "THIS WAY! HUH?! NO IDIOT, THAT WAY! WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!" As Edward and Sora pinched one another's cheeks, Kairi had an idea, "EVERYONE, MOVE TO THE RIGHT!" As they did, Kairi asked, "You, muscle man, I've seen your alchemy, can you Transmute that boulder into a blockade? It should keep the hair from getting close to us!" Armstrong nodded, "Consider it-!"
Armstrong rushed in front to the boulder and punched it!
(BRA-KA-THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM)
"-REMOLDED!"
Armstrong then took the liquefied glowing mass that was the boulder and threw it against the hair, thus changing into a wall with murals resembling Armstrong himself!
The smoke from the impact got into the other's eyes, so they had a hard time seeing. Sora asked, "Edward (cough-cough), Alphonse, Kairi, Ross (cough-cough), can anyone hear me?" Ross's vision began to clear up, and when she saw Sora, she replied, "Over here Sora." Sora reached out to her, "W-where? I can't see-."
(SHINE)
Ross was startled to see the Keyblade appear in Sora's hand!
Sora rubbed his eyes, and saw the Keyblade back in his grasp, "…how did-…I thought I lost it…"
"…the Keyblade stays with it's owner, even if a mountain stands between them."
At the group's surprise, the insane Nina clone was right in their way! Ross asked, "Would anybody tell me why a little girl is here?" Sora answered, "Ross…that's NOT a child." Armstrong then realized, "It's impossible, that girl, she is almost the spitting image of Shou Tucker's daughter!" Alphonse then said, "That's all she is Major, an image of Nina…but she's-."
"Edward Elric, I missed you! Can we play now?"
Edward shuttered as the clone spoke to him again. Edward began to approach her again, but Sora yelled, "ED STOP, SHE'LL TRY TO EAT YOU AGAIN!" then he and Block grabbed him and kept him from getting close! Block then asked, "You're telling us that girl's not the girl he knew, right? So who is she?" Sora answered, "…it's a clone of Nina that Tucker made to try and reanimate her. But then…Tucker died…after she ate him." Block then said, "A CANNIBALISTIC CLONE?! OK, Ed there's no way you should get close to that thing!"
"Come on Edward, we have SO much to share, so much to talk about, and so little time." The clone said. Sora pushed Edward away and asked, "Whoever you are, there's no way the Nina Edward knew would be capable of hurting him! You tried to eat him, so why don't you quit playing mind-games with him and spit out the truth?! WHO ARE YOU?!"
Just then, the clone released a black, red, and blue vapor that covered her like a cocoon! A few seconds passed, and the cocoon exploded, revealing the clone in a new teenage body in a skin-tight outfit, with a set of claws and talons where her hands and feet used to be! Her hair started to gracefully flow through the air, like they were wings, while two strands of hair near her forehead stood upward. Her eyes were now like that of a hungry predator, colored in bright sky-blue. And in her chest, there was a bright red ruby…one that Edward recognized, "Y-you have a Philosopher Stone?!"
With an older teenage voice, the clone replied, "The stone you see is my life's core, my living force embodied in this blood-red ruby. This 'clone' as you put it had an empty yet roomy space in her heart, so I moved in, becoming one with what remained of this 'Nina Tucker'. However, in a child's body, I could only be a child, which is why I needed to supplement myself with the other clones, (licks lips) they weren't however as delicious as YOU, Edward! Your mind, your age, your physical prowess, I copied it all just by nibbling you, you were the perfect start for me to improve myself! And now, thanks to you, I have the capacity to comprehend what happens around me again, I can continue reforming the world into what I see fit! But your body's attributes won't be enough…I needed your speed, strength, and mind, your athletic moves just to start my way back up, but to continue…"
Just then, the clone disappeared…then reappeared behind Sora!
Kairi screamed, "SORA, LOOK OUT-!"
"-I'LL NEED THE PHYSICAL TRAITS OF THIS ASSASSIN AS WELL!"
(CHOMP)
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
Sora pulled the clone off and yelled, "GET THE HELL OFF ME YOU SHAMPOO-MODEL REGECT!" As Sora threw her off, the clone wiped the blood from her smiling lips and said, "(tee-hee) My speed is doubled, my strength is doubled, and now, I know even MORE methods of flexible combat! You two…there's something special about you after all, too bad you never realized it!"
Sora gritted his teeth and yelled, "Just because you know our moves doesn't mean you can win! Whatever you think, some things can't be understood immediately! You have to grow with those skills, learn some more, and not just physically, but emotionally to! Edward and I, we grew strong because we had friends, teachers, and feelings for them to motivate us to overpower overconfident people like you! We protect them because we're strong, not because we're skilled!"
"(hmph) Such a waste of a human, completely unaware of what AND who he's talking to." The clone then started to fly up using her hair, which shaped themselves into wings, "The days of Chaos and Discord are approaching, thus my will MUST be complied. Resist what must change and what is destined, and all that rewards you will be a Crisis-!"
(KRA-KA-THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM)
Just then, Scar smashed through a wall and caught the demonic clone off guard!
While the creature staggered, Scar looked at Edward and said, "It's now or never, Fullmetal, take your friends and escape!" Edward wondered why Scar was helping him, so he asked, "Why are you here, and what do you care whether I need help or not?!" Scar replied, "I don't…but your brother needs you! Take him and go; I'll try to stall this demon!"
The Fullmetal was still a bit baffled, but he was thankful none the less and escaped with the others…
Back outside, King Bradley, Maes Hughes, and the other soldiers witnessed the laboratory fall suddenly into ruins!
"-SORA!"
Hughes looked back at the collapsed building and feared the worst. It was all completely destroyed, nothing left to report on…and nothing alive.
Hughes couldn't take the loss, so he rushed over to what was left of Laboratory 5 and started pushing debris out of the way, "Don't die on me Sora…daddy's coming!" Hughes kept getting the debris out of the way while everyone just watched…
When Hughes was finished, he couldn't find anything underneath, so he started digging, "COME ON, I know this isn't you Edward, you wouldn't end it like this-!" Hughes just kept digging and digging, like he was possessed, "…this isn't the end, boys…" Bradley approached Hughes slowly…
"THIS CAN'T BE THE END!"
Bradley placed his hand on Hughes' back and said, "Hughes…I'm sorry."
Hughes looked at his superior, eyes filled with tears, and then he dropped his hands on the ground, wondering what he could've done…
(KRA-KOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM)
Suddenly, two fists came out of the ground, shocking both Hughes and Bradley!
As the two watched, Armstrong and Kairi came out of the ground, and in their arms were an unconscious Sora and Edward. Ross and Block came out next, carrying Alphonse…
Hughes stood up and walked over to Kairi, who still had Sora in her care, and gently took her hand while saying, "…thank you for saving my son." Kairi wasn't too eager to just let Sora's adopted father get away with saying those words, but she could see something in his eyes that gave her joy and pride in what she did, so she said, "…I didn't save him, sir…he's the one who saved me."
(…CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-)
At that moment, Bradley started to clap for the rescuers and the survivors…
(…CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-)
Then he was joined by other soldiers…
(…CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-)
And by this time, everyone cheered and clapped in joy of the miraculous survivors!
Alphonse looked at everyone who cheered, and then he looked at his brother. Armstrong heard Al's sigh, so he asked, "Alphonse, we survived Laboratory 5's fall, what could be troubling you?" Al replied, "…we've seen so many secrets…and we learned hidden truths. In the end of it all, I can't tell whether surviving was a good thing…or a bad thing…or even a waste. All I know is…it's not over."

Next Chapter, different sides are observed, a future threat is immanent, and the foretelling of a war is just around the corner...
