Parody 34: Ninjas

Izuka was currently sitting at her desk in her office in the Suna Ninja Academy, reading just one of the many documents that she had to look through and sign before sending them over to Gaara's office. Her eyes felt tired, but she did not feel sleepy as she signed the paper on her desk and put it on top of her finished pile.

"One down, a hundred more to go." mumbled the Lady Sage as she took the top document from her undone pile and began to read it. A small knocking noise emanated from her door and she looked up to see Temari poking her head into the room and looking at her curiously.

"Still busy?" asked the wind mistress as she raised an eyebrow.

"Still busy." answered Izuka as she turned her attention back to her work.

"Oh . . . when are you coming off your post?" asked Temari as she looked around the plant filled room.

"In about a hour." answered Izuka as she signed away another document.

"Oh . . . I'll see you back at the house then." muttered Temari as she waved at her before closing the door behind her. Izuka looked up to see the closed door before going back her work.

"That was weird." mumbled the Sage as she put her focus back on her papers.

Meanwhile, Temari walked out the building to see her brothers waiting for her at the bottom of the staircase. She let out a deep breath before walking down to them, her arms crossed over her chest as she raised an eyebrow at the two.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were going straight toward the house after getting off work." said Temari as she looked at her brothers up and down.

"We spotted you walking into the building, so we thought we would wait here for you and Izzy before going home." answered Kankuro as he took his hat off his head.

"Where is Izuka anyway?" asked Gaara as he turned toward the building.

"She's still doing paperwork. She's going to be in there for at least another hour." Temari answered him bluntly as she began to walk down the street. Gaara and Kankuro exchanged a look before following their older sister home; both wondering what was going on with Temari's attitude.

"Is something wrong Temari?" asked Kankuro as he raised an eyebrow at her.

"I need to add another parody video to my YouTube channel. I've been falling behind on my videos lately." answered the wind mistress as she turned to her brothers.

"You wanted Izuka to do the song parody didn't you?" Gaara asked bluntly as he crossed his arms.

". . . Maybe." muttered Temari as she looked away. Gaara and Kankuro exchanged a glance before continuing their walk in silence. The three finally reached their house ten minutes later to see that some of the lights were already on.

"Kankuro, I thought you said you turned off all the lights before we left this morning." complained Temari as she shot her brother a disapproving glare.

"I did!" said Kankuro as he held his arms up in surrender. "Maybe it's Ryu who turned on the lights and is inside doing who knows what."

"Mm . . . that may be it." muttered Temari as she narrowed her eyes at him. Gaara shook his head at the both of them in disapproval before moving to the door. He used some of his sand and commanded it to form into a key. He then used the key to unlock the lock, thus opening the door.

"Are you two coming inside, or are you two going to stay out there all night?" asked the Kazekage as he walked into the home.

"We're coming." mumbled the two older siblings as they followed him inside. After closing the front door, the three walked down the hallway and into the kitchen to see Izuka sitting in a chair drinking some tea while looking over her paperwork.

"Weren't you at the Academy just a few minutes ago?" asked Temari in shock as she stared at the Lady Sage dumbstruck.

"I was." answered Izuka as she took a sip of her tea.

"Temari said you wouldn't be back here for another hour." said Kankuro as he shot Izuka a wary glance.

"That's true." answered Izuka as she continued to do her paperwork. "But I decided to leave work a little early, just for fun."

"If that's the case, then why do you have that paperwork on your lap?" asked Temari as she narrowed her eyes at the stack.

"Homework . . ." mumbled Izuka as she downed the last of her tea.

"Well . . . out that homework aside for the moment. I need your help with a new parody." said Temari as she grabbed Izuka's paperwork from off her lap.

"If I sing the parody for you, will you give me back my paperwork?" asked Izuka as she looked up at the wind mistress.

"Yes," muttered Temari as she took out her video camera from out of the blue.

"Where did that come from?" asked Gaara as he raised an invisible eyebrow at his sister's video camera.

"From thin air." answered Temari as Kankuro left the room. He soon returned with the portable stereo in hand and placed it on the kitchen counter, a smirk playing on his lips.

"What song did you have in mind sis?" asked Kankuro as he watched Temari insert her I-Pod into the stereo dock.

"I have a good idea." answered Temari as she pressed play, the notes of the instrumental version of Lorde's "Royals' beginning to blare from the speakers.

"You're lucky this song is one of my current favorites . . ." muttered Izuka as she trailed off closing her eyes as she placed her empty cup onto the counter.

I've always seen ninjas caught in mesh

I cut my teeth on seal tags on the battlefield

And I'm not proud of what've I've done

In a torn up town, the blood runs freely

But every fight's like broke teeth, jutsus, striking with a kunai

Blood stains, C4s, hoping evil just die

We sure care; we're dreaming peace up in our dreams

But everybody's like shuriken, battle lines, fighting me, oh please

War time, islands, tigers trying ta eat me

We sure care; some of us wish we weren't here

But we are still ninjas (Ninjas)

It just runs in our blood

I guess peace isn't for us

Some even have bloodlust

I don't want ta fool ya (fool ya)

You can call me Izzy

And baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule

But I still got work sheesh

My friends and I have work to do

We count the money that we make; work isn't free

And everyone who knows us knows that we're fine with this,

It's just a simple deed

But every fight's like broke teeth, jutsus, striking with a kunai

Blood stains, C4s, hoping evil just die

We sure care; we're dreaming peace up in our dreams

But everybody's like shuriken, battle lines, fighting me, oh please

War time, islands, tigers trying ta eat me

We sure care; some of us wish we weren't here

But we are still ninjas (Ninjas)

It just runs in our blood

I guess peace isn't for us

Some even have bloodlust

I don't want ta fool ya (fool ya)

You can call me Izzy

And baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule

But I still got work sheesh

Ooh ooh oh

We're better than we ever dreamed

Better than even royalty

Ooh ooh oh

Life is great without a fear

Some still wish to not be here

But we are still ninjas (Ninjas)

It just runs in our blood

I guess peace isn't for us

Some even have bloodlust

I don't want ta fool ya (fool ya)

You can call me Izzy

And baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule

But I still got work sheesh

As soon as Izuks finished her last line, she held out her hand for her paperwork. Temari shot her a small smirk as she turned off her video camera, while Gaara handed the Lady Sage back her documents.

"So . . . can we call you Izzy?" asked Kankuro as he turned off the stereo. Izuka shot him a cold look, giving Kankuro his answer.

"Never mind." muttered Kankuro as he walked out the room. Temari chuckled as she followed after him.

"I can still call you Izzy . . . right?" asked Gaara as he turned to the Lady Sage. Izuka didn't look up from her work this time around, but she did smirk. Gaara let out a relieved sigh as he walked out the room, leaving the Lady Sage to her peace and quiet.
