"Sue." Will said as he walked into her office. "You wanted to see me?"
"Schuester, I've got some good news for you."
Will looked up, surpised. This couldn't be good. "What's that?"
"You need money for regionals, because your budget doesn't cover everything, I got you a gig."
"A gig?" He looked suspiciously. "The glee-cluh can't accept money for any services rendered."
"No, but he can donate money to the school."
Will sit down. "What kind of a gig is this?"
"Performance. One of the school's biggest funders needs two performers. I thought you wouldn't mind money going to your glee-club."
"Is it for a party?"
"Yes, it's for his daughters sweet sixteen."
Will nodded. "Okay, I guess I can send two of my glee-clubbers"
"No, he's seen a performance, he knows who he wants."
Will smiled and stood up. "Great, who do I send?"
"Daphne and yourself."
Will's eyes narrowed, she was probably doing this on purpose. "Okay." He wasn't going to let her get to him. They were going to rehearse and give the best performance of their lives. They'd show her. "Do you have a list of songs, or genre she likes?"
Sue handed him a note with contact information. "You should go visit them."
"We will, thank you Sue. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome, Will."
He walked out with a smiled but let it fade away when he knew she couldn't see him anymore. This was going to be hell. Daphne was going to kill him, she didn't want to be alone in a room together, and now this..
…
"Daphne, can you stay for a minute?" Will asked as the rest of glee-club left to go home.
Daphne walked towards him but kept her distance. "Mr Schue?"
"You know the glee-club has money troubles, right?"
She nodded. "I think everybody knows that."
"There's a way for us to get all the money to go to regional's at once."
"That's great!" Daphne smiled. "Whatever it is we should definitely do it."
Will smiled, knowing it was a little mean to rope her in like this. "I'm glad you feel that way, because it's a performance at a sweet sixteen. They will donate money to the school."
"Awesome, when?"
"Two weeks."
"That's quick.. Better call in emergency glee-club rehearsel."
"Well, that's the catch. It's just you and me."
"What."
Will scratched his head. "Sue set it up."
"What part of me barely being able to be in a room with you, gives you the idea that I can do this?"
"We can do it, Daph."
"Daphne."
Will rolled his eyes. "We can do it Daphne. Just some singing and dancing." He watched how she sighed. "We really need the money, and the added bonus is that we can stick it to Sue."
"You're guilting me into it." She looked down and sighed. "Fine. No kissing."
Will smiled. "No kissing."
"Do you have a list of songs?"
"No, they want us to visit. I thought maybe we could do that know if you don't have anything planned?"
"Sure, do you have the address?"
"Yeah, we can take my car."
Daphne shook her head. "I'll follow you in mine."
Will nodded. "I'll just give them a call to check they're home."
…
Daphne looked through her windshield as she was following Will. Could she even do this? It was hard enough to be alone in a room with Will, let alone when they were singing and dancing. She loves to see him sing and dance, he is so sexy when he does. How is she supposed to withstand that? She sighed again and turned on her music, maybe singing along would banish the thoughts.
Will looked through his mirror, Daphne was singing along with the radio. He wasn't sure he could pull this off. She was amazing when she was singing and dancing. Even in glee-club, when everyone was there, he just wanted to walk up to her and kiss her breathless. He pulled up to the curb and got out of the car.
"This is it?" Daphne looked up to the giant mansion.
Will nodded. "This is the address." They walked up to the gate and rang the bell. The gate opened and they walked to the front door.
"Wow."
The door opened as they walked up. "Hi," Will said as he shook the man's hand. "I'm Will, this is Daphne." Daphne shook his hand as well. "I understand you have a sweet sixteen to plan?"
"Yes, come on in. Do you want anything to drink?"
Will glanced at Daphne, she was shaking her head. "No, we're good. Thank you."
"Let me get my daughter, she can tell you all about her party."
"Great." Daphne smiled at him. "This house is huge." She said to Will.
"Yeah, I bet they'd be able donate enough to set the glee-club up for the next 10 years." He mumbled.
A girl walked down the stairs. "Hey." She said to them both, giving Will a long look.
"Hi." Daphne answered, pulling the girls attention towards her instead of ogling Will. "I'm Daphne."
"I'm Charlotte." She then smiled at Will.
"I'm Will. So, tell us about your party."
She smiled. "It's going to be the party of the century."
"Of course it is." Daphne mumbled, making Will smile slightly.
"All I need is two great performers. You'll be my entrance and entertainment. Daddy's seen your glee-club perform, and he says you're great. Can you maybe perform something for me?"
Daphne looked at Will, they don't have anything prepared. "Uuh, we.."
"What kind of song do you want?"
"Anything that's upbeat."
"Can you maybe give us a second?"
"Of course, let me show you our dance studio."
Daphne glanced at Will. "You have a dance studio?"
"Yes. Mom loves to dance and I love to sing. We even have microphones." She led the way to dance studio. "15 minutes enough?" She looked at Will again.
"Great."
Daphne waited until she left. "So, someone likes you.."
Will smiled. "No, she doesn't.. She just met me two minutes ago."
"I liked you within two minutes." She said as she took off her sweater.
Will took of his vest, undid the top button of his shirt and loosened his tie a little. "How about a song that we know?"
"That sounds great."
"Toxic? It's upbeat."
"Isn't it a little to sexy?"
"It's fine."
Daphne shrugged and went over to the music player with her phone. "Okay.. I got an instrumental version." She looked at the music player trying to figure out how to plug her phone in. She then saw two headsets. "Are you kidding me." She said as she connected them and gave one to Will. "These are better then we have.."
Will put his on. "Test." He came over the speakers loud and clear. He smiled at Daphne was struggling to fasten the little sender to her jeans. "Need some help?"
"Yeah." She came loud over the speakers, at least they were working. Will fastened the sender to her jeans. "Great, thanks." She turned the volume down a little. "That's better."
"Okay, so you remember most of the steps?"
"Yeah."
Will nodded. "Great, let's run through it once."
…
They were breathing heavy as the song came to an end, looking at each other. Daphne quickly took a step away from him. "I think that was pretty great."
"Yeah, me too." Will looked at her. "Let's have something to drink." He walked towards his bag and grabbed two bottles of water. "Here." He said as he handed her one.
"Thanks." She smiled at him before twisting the cap and drinking. "So, this gig is really important, right?"
Will nodded. "Yes, so I really appreciate you helping."
"No problem." She turned off her microphone and looked down. "I miss you."
Charlotte walked back in before Will could say anything. "Are you guys ready?"
"Yeah." Will answered as they both got up.
…
"That was great!" Charlotte exclaimed. "I would love for you to be at my party." She walked towards them and hugged them both. "When can we start rehearsing my entrance?"
"Uuh." Will scratched his head. "How about you give me and Daphne a couple of days, and we can rehearse with you.. Sunday?"
"Sunday is great. Do you want anything more to drink?"
Daphne grabbed her bag and shook her head. "No thanks."
Will also grabbed his bag. "We should get going. What time Sunday?"
"What about 1 pm?"
"Sure, see you then."
"I'll see you out."
They got into their cars, Will drove around the street corner before pulling over. Daphne followed him and got out as he did. "Everything okay?"
"Fine." Will smiled gently. "We have to set a date to rehearse."
Daphne nodded. "What about after school, choir room."
"Sounds good. Do you want me to lead the way home?"
"I've got it, thanks. See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
