36. Falling, Falling Snow
Even through his thick gloves, Len can feel the iciness of the metal rail gripped against his palms. That cold trails its way throughout his body, but he barely notices.
Staring out at the world frosted in ice, he can only think of her. The girl he'd loved for so long- who betrayed him.
She cut his heart open with her lies, those false 'I love yous'. Hot tears silently rolling down his chilled skin, his teeth grind so hard together that it brings him even more pain.
He mulls over the reasons, but in the end nothing makes sense. All he knows is that she's gone now, and he's alone. She won't be coming back to mend what's broken.
Crying out openly without hesitation, he screams his frustration out to the wind and snow, the crystals pressing along his face like cool kisses.
I never should have trusted her.
