Hey everyone!
A quick one to round the week off with. The next chapter should clear everything up as we'll be getting some explanations as to what the hell is going on at this damn institute! XD
First of all I'd like to say hello and thanks to The Eternal Forgotten, rktnate14, lupus316 and kkLittleRed for the faves and follows! Cheers guys! :)
And to reviews and messages.
BloodyBlondeVamp: And it's getting even thicker and goopier! XD
MASTER T-REX: Yeah! I finally got round to playing Cole's Legacy the other night! I've been playing the Paper Trail though. XD
Bloodwitch Raven: Heh heh heh! :D
Fleightfire: You'll find out in the next chapter. I think it will be huge and quite err, long. XD
Leyshla Gisel: A huge mess! The loose ends are going to be tied up though…
iPansycake2You: God I LOVED Mass Effect! Even though it made my head hurt a bit sometimes. I don't want to give too much away but everything will be explained in the next chapter about the test subjects and the blood samples. :)
insomniac-artist3: I totally think Delsin would be a sweetie romantic kinda guy. The side of him nobody really sees because they think he's a player type almost but not with the right lady, he'd be a gent. :)
There we go guys. I'm going to work hard on this next chapter so there's a good chunk for you to read and find out EXACTLY what the deal is with Maynard and the institute. So please look forward to it. :D
As always, please fave and follow if you haven't done already! And please don't be afraid to leave any comments or questions for me. I'm always around and I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)
Bye for now folks! PEACEEEEEE!

The darkness enveloped the ward like a thick, heavy blanket. Sounds of stifled choking and coughing, flesh ripping and blood dripping could be heard then several burst of gunfire. Delsin and Caterina must have had some kind of Guardian Angel on their side, giving them an opportunity to get away. The two Conduits just fired whatever they had in some kind of direction hoping they had hit one of the Soldiers.
'CEASEFIRE YOU IDIOTS!' Doctor Maynard shouted at the D.U.P. Knights who were firing in to the darkness hoping to hit Delsin and Cat. The two Conduits had taken the opportunity to run in the general direction of what they thought was an exit. A few seconds later and the building's back-up generator kicked in providing whatever power they could to the emergency lighting that lined the floors. Delsin and Caterina found each other in the near darkness as they crashed through the door at the far end of the ward.
'Melt the door Delsin!' Cat heaved as she tried to catch her breath. Delsin already had his hands around the metal frame of the door and was forcing as much power in to it as he could, hoping to melt the metal and seal the door long enough for him and Cat to escape somewhere. The two felt like they were in over their heads and had well and truly gone in at the deep end. As soon as Delsin had done his best with the door, the two started to run up the stairwell then had found themselves in. Delsin's phone had begun to ring, he pulled it out of his pocket and looked who was calling before he answered.
'Hellooo! A bit preoccupied at the moment Fetch.' Delsin spoke in to the phone.
'An' you think me and Eugene aren't? There must be at least a hundred DUPES outside now what the hell have you two done?'
'I think we've just poked the beehive!' Delsin cackled. 'Fetch this place needs to be torn to bits.'
'Well tell me it all later D. Eugene's going all Warcraft on these guys and I'm doing what I can!'
'Okay go go! Don't let me stop you!' Delsin said before he hung up his phone. He continued to run up the stairs following Cat close behind who had no idea where she was going. He followed her around the barren white hallways; trying to figure out where to go. Then they saw a man run out in front of them and down another corridor. He had black hair and was wearing a white shirt with a tie but the thing that stood out the most about him, was the huge patch of blood that had spread on the left side of his shirt and was being tightly held by the man's right hand. Cat and Delsin ran in that same direction only to abruptly stop when another man wearing a black suit ran past then doubled back on himself when he saw the bright flash of Caterina's crimson hair. He had a gun in his hand and did not hesitate in shooting a few bullets at Caterina and Delsin before he chased after the man again. Delsin and Cat flattened themselves against the wall to avoid the bullets.
'It's Agent Jones!' Caterina shrieked. She grabbed Delsin's arm and dragged him along following Agent Jones. They could hear the DUPE Knight's trying to break the door down that Delsin had sealed in the background and it sounded like it wouldn't hold for much longer. They ran, noticing a trail of blood on the blindingly white tiled floor which they followed round the maze of corridors. Caterina was getting increasingly more angrier by the second. She was now growling and baring her teeth as she ran, Delsin could hear the noise coming from her and just knew that she was about to explode at some point. Caterina still dragged Delsin along and let go at the last second as they had finally found a door that the blood trail had led them to. Caterina screamed as she launched her booted foot at the door and kicked it off its hinges. Agent Jones was stood in the room they had entered; aiming his gun at the bleeding man who had fallen on to the floor and was trying to push himself away with his feet as he clutched his bleeding stomach. Agent Jones fired a shot at the man which hit him again in the stomach as Caterina fired a shot of ice at Agent Jones just a second too late. The suited man screamed in pain as both of his hands were frozen to his handgun in a huge ball of ice, the weight of which cause him to drop to the ground.
'Carmine?!' Agent Jones shouted at her. She just stomped over to him and kicked him in the shoulder making him fall flat on his back.
'Don't you FUCKING TALK TO ME!' She screeched as she leered over the suited man who had started to shiver.
Delsin had stood by the door keeping a look out for the Knights who would probably be making their way up to them soon along with Doctor Maynard. He glanced over his shoulder every so often at Caterina who was still leering over Agent Jones. The man had gone as quiet as a mouse as she glared at him. Her face had suddenly changed from a growling animalistic grimace to a look of sheer unadulterated horror.
'iso…sisko.'
Caterina recoiled slowly away from Agent Jones and stepped away from him. She turned her head round to look at the bleeding man on the floor; blood had now started to seep from his mouth.
'isosisko*.' The man spluttered through the blood. Caterina staggered over to him with wide eyes, barely blinking as she stared at him.
'But, but you're Jerry.' She said as she pointed at the man. He tried to laugh but ended up coughing.
'In this get-up… I am.' The man spluttered.
Caterina fell to the floor with her head in her hands. She wanted to throw up.
'But you're Jerry.' She whispered, not quite believing what the man had just called her. She watched as he struggled to slide over to the nearest wall and prop himself up against it. Using his left hand, he slowly took the black framed glasses he was wearing off his face and threw them to the ground and after a bit more struggling; he plunged his hand down the top of his button up white shirt and tugged out two silver chains both of which had a tiny silver cross pendant dangling from them. Caterina instantly recognised the crosses. She had one given as a gift to her from her mother which was then confiscated by the D.U.P. when she first arrived at the institute. The other identical cross was given to her brother.
'Niko?' Caterina gasped.
'Hey kissa**.'
(*Isosisko – Big Sister. **kissa – Cat.)
