Chapter Thirty-Six:

Next Day:

Lily is sitting up in bed as she is watching TV. When they talked to Seth yesterday, they agreed that she would only work half the shifts she usually works; which means every other day she would work. She would also majority be working with the Unit Clerk on call. She has accepted the condition as well as Roman, but thinks it is too early for her to make these changes. If she was 5 months pregnant, yes she wouldn't complain, but they just got the news. Now, she has to deal with the boredom on her days off, which is today. On the upside, Lily did make one condition that she could pick up Emma from school; the three of them all agreed.

When they both would work, Emma would stay with the afternoon class until they were off. They paid extra for the time, but since Lily would be home more she could pick her up on her off days. They could save up the money they used to pay for their wedding, honeymoon, and the baby on the way. Ah the honeymoon, Lily and Roman talk about having two of them; one with just them and another with Emma along. They debated to have just one since they found out about the baby while have another just for them in the future. They ask their friends' advice and were no help what so ever; they are part of the secret Dean and Emma has planned.

Around 12:30:

"Hello." Lily answers the phone.

"Hello princess, how is your day off?" Roman asks knowing she must be bored.

"I'm bored. I have no one to talk to besides myself, which I find weird. Earlier today, I talk back to the TV because the girl dump her boyfriend when she found out he is not rich. I actually threw a pillow at it. It is my first day off and I'm already going crazy." Lily freaks out to Roman.

He chuckles into the phone. "Baby, you are not crazy, well not in bed, but that's not the point." He smirks.

"You are not making feel better." She says is a disapprove tone. "I miss you." She now says in a sweet tone.

"I know I miss you too special during lunch. I have to sit here with Seth and his fiancée as they make cute conversation; that should us doing that. This is just your first day of they will get better. Plus, it is almost one, which means Emma is off soon. You two can keep each other company until I get home." He sympathizes.

"I guess so, but I want to work with you until I can't anymore. I could do paperwork and help with all the clerks." She says hopeful.

"So you would be bouncing from one floor to the next, stressing yourself out?" He explains why it is not a good idea.

"I guess not, but.."

"No buts Lily, I know it is harsh, but I love you and the baby. I don't want anything to stress either of you out." He says in a soft voice

"But being bored is stressing me out. I can't work on the wedding or honeymoon plans considering Dean and Renee took them from me." She huffs into the phone.

"Why did they take them?" Confuse

They said it will stress me out. They told me they will worry about it. Renee is more along them me why do I feel like a prisoner." She tears up with her hormones acting up.

"Baby, it is okay. Before I come home, I will go to Dean's to explain the situation. I will ask him to give you something to do, okay. Now, stop crying I don`t like it when you cry." He tries to soothe her.

"Just forget it and just buy me some pickles and whip cream, please." She smiles at the thought of it.

"Is that for you or for us?" He asks thinking about the conversation yesterday.

"It is for me silly, but don't worry you will the day, plus your request some day. The day could be a day soon or in the future." She teases while she giggles.

"Can it be together?" He asks hopefully, so he can please her like no other.

"It could be or it could be not." She teases even more. "Now, I have to get ready to pick up our daughter." She gets out of bed while still on the phone.

"What are you going to wear?" He asks with smirk tone.

"Maybe I'll wear a pair of your shorts with your shirt and maybe your boxers. In that way you have an outfit that smells completely like me. I may spill some wet stains on it as well." She seductively speaks the last part. "I'll see you when you get off baby."

He is shock. He hears her hang up and then hangs up himself. He rushes to the staff bathroom on their floor to take a breather. He looks down to see a small bulge sticking out. He chuckles evilly "My fiancée is the only woman since Bella to have me this way at work." He remembered when Bella called him at work the week after her sister was released. The phone call was what led him to know that he would marry her. She was not as seductive as Lily is, but so sweet like the sweet tooth she had.

Emma's school:

Lily is on a bench in the parents waiting area.

"Mommy!" Emma runs to her for a hug.

"Sweetie, how was school?" She hugs her back.

"Good, I drew a picture of our family." She takes it out of her scrapbook. "See, this is you-"She points to the person in the middle. "This is daddy beside you. I tried to have him hugging you, but it looked weird. And this is me in the middle of the both of you."

"And who is this in my stomach?" She pretends to be confused.

"That's the baby."

"Oh right due to me being pregnant." She pretends now to realize that she is.

She giggles. "Yup, so what are we going to do now?" She puts her scrapbook back in her bag.

"I don't know, do you want some ice cream?"

Emma now has a big smile from the offer. "Are we going to have a dessert party again?" She loves having moments like that; family moments. She thought she would never have that again when her mother, Bella died.

"Not today." She sees her smile turn upside down. "If you want we can have one on your birthday."

"Really?" She perks up just like always.

"Yup and if your daddy tells you refuses you say I approved it." She tells her daughter.

"Absolutely, so can I get ice cream today?" Emma asks hopefully to at least get ice cream today.

"Yup, but you have to eat your vegetables for dinner or pretend to eat them anyways." Lily suggest to for her daughter.

"How, you know I don't really like vegetables?" She feels a plan coming on with the grin on Lily's face.

"I will distract your father while you hide or put them on his plate, okay." She tells her the plan.

"Okay." She giggles.

Back at Home:

Lily and Emma are setting up the dinner table. As they finish, Roman enters the home with the pickles and whipped cream for Lily. He worked an hour more in behalf of a worker being sick to come in.

"Baby, I'm home. Baby girl, daddy is home." He calls out as places the grocery bag on the side table near the door.

Emma runs into the arms of her father. "Daddy, you're finally home. Why are you home late?" She is concern knowing the time he usually gets home.

He picks her up to give her a big hug. "One of the workers on my floor got sick, so they were short-staffed. I volunteered to help them with the shift change and dinner." He explains.

"That is my daddy, the one always willing to help others." She says proud.

"Yup, I'm a good role model for my little princess." He says as he tickles her stomach.

She giggles while she tries to stop him. "What's in the bag, daddy?" She looks down at the grocery bag.

"Your mommy is still in her pickle phrase; she asks for pickles and whipped cream." He whispers in her ear.

"Ah, so when is the pickle day that Uncle Phil said about?" She asks.

"I don't that it is up to Lily." He shrugs. "Now, speaking of her mother, where is she?"

"She is in the kitchen preparing our dinner." She points towards the kitchen.

Kitchen:

"Hey baby, what are you cooking?" He puts Emma down on a stool before he pecks her cheek.

"I'm cooking chicken and vegetables with rice." She replies before he pecks him back.

"Oh, are you going to use your trick with the vegetables again." He refers to the vegetables in the mashed potatoes trick.

"Something liked that." She smirks lightly without it being notice by him.

"What trick?" Emma speaks out.

"The trick I use to make vegetables taste good. The vegetables will disappear of your plate like magic." She smiles at Emma about their plan.

"Oh right, the tasteful magic vegetables, which only you can make them." She smiles back.

"Oh, so there will be no fuss on eating vegetables tonight?" He is surprise.

"Nope, there will be no fuss from me on eating vegetables." She giggles.

Roman ponders that his daughter is up to something.

Dinner Table:

They have a long table for guests, but only use the left end table for the three of them. Roman is at the end with Emma and Lily on either side of him. He is about to put some vegetables on Emma plate, but she stops him.

"I can do it daddy." She smiles with her hand on his arm.

"Okay, but you need more than just one scoop." He is intrigue on his daughter now enjoyment of vegetables.

"Absolutely, more than one scoop." He holds the bowl as Emma scoops up 4 big spoonfuls of vegetables on her plate. Afterwards, she gets only one chicken and 2 spoonfuls of rice.

"Wow, my baby girl is eating healthy; there are more vegetables then chicken or rice." More surprise to see her plate.

"Yup, I love my vegetables, well the carrots and corn the most, but I do eat them." She picks up a spoonful and eats them.

Roman watches in amazement at her eating, chewing, and swallowing the veggies. She smiles at Lily who nods to signal the plan is starting.

"Baby, did you go over to Dean's for the wedding plans?" She eats a piece of chicken with rice.

He smacks his forehead he forgot about that. "No baby I didn't, sorry. Tomorrow, we will both go and ask." He eats a spoonful of vegetables. "This is really good veggies you were right baby."

"Thank you, but you did get the pickles and whipped cream, right?" She says in a serious tone.

"That I did get." He smiles knowing he will be in big trouble for forgetting that.

"Great, where are they?"She smiles not seeing them in the kitchen.

"They're-"He looks around to not see the grocery bag on the island. He thought he brought it will him to the kitchen. "It is by the front door. I forgot to put it on the island." He sulks.

"It is okay, can you go get them? I want one for dessert." She smiles, but a bit peeved that he left them at the door.

"Sure." He gets up still a bit sad that he left it there.

"Roman?" Her peeved attitude is gone when she sees him sad.

"Yeah." He turns around with his head down.

"Come here." He moves closer to her. "I love you. I love that you put our needs before yours. I also think it is hot to volunteer to help others. You are seriously a hot, sweet fiancée." She kisses him.

As they are kissing, Emma is putting some of her vegetables on Roman's plate. She is not phrase by the kissing with the love that is being showed. When Bella was still alive, she was taught what real love looks like. After the kiss broke off, Roman is in a better mood with a bright smile. He happily walks to the door to get the grocery bag.

"How much did you put?" Lily whispers, so Roman won't hear them.

"About half of my vegetables." She points to her plate.

"Okay good, every time he turns his back you put more on." She tells her.

"Okay mommy."

Roman re-enters the kitchen to put the pickles and whipped cream away. He is about to close the fridge door, but remembers that Lily wants some for dessert, so he takes it back out.

"Here you go beautiful." He sets down the jar of pickles and whipped scream before kissing her head.

"Thank you handsome." She replies back.

Roman looks at Emma's plate. "Look at our baby girl she is almost done with her veggies." He is proud of her not noticing he has more veggies on his plate.

"Yup, she is growing up." She smiles at his unnoticed. "Do you want more veggies, baby?"

"Yes please." He moves his plate closer to the bowl as she puts a big spoonful on his plate.

After 10 minutes, Lily distracts him once again, so Emma can put the rest of her veggies on his plate. She asks him this time to get her prenatal vitamins; he gladly accepts. When he comes back, he continues to enjoy his meal.

"I'm done." Emma tells her parents proudly.

"Wow, you really ate all your vegetables." She nods "For that you get to have a gift." He ponders a bit. "How about for your birthday you have a dessert theme party?" He smiles.

"Really daddy?" She is surprise that he would consider that idea.

"Yup, if you keep eating your vegetables like that I don't see why we can't." He smiles at her excitement.

"Thanks daddy." She gets out of her seat to hug him.

"You're welcome baby girl." He kisses her head.

A few minutes later, Roman is stuffed but still has his vegetables left.

"I'm stuffed I can't eat anymore." He is moving his plate away from him.

"Daddy, you still have your vegetables." She tells him with a smile.

"I know, but I can't eat them." He eats another spoonful. "Nope, no more food can enter me." He drops his spoon after he swallows.

"But vegetables are good for you. You always told me to eat my vegetables." She pouts at his father.

He wants to finish the veggies to set an example for his daughter, but he can't anymore. "Yeah, but I can't eat anymore." He explains with his head down and holding his stomach.

"So are you complaining about eating vegetables?" She smirks.

Roman nods, but looks up at them. "Wait, you two did this." He tells them.

"What are you talking about?" Lily pretends to be shock that he would entertain the thought.

"You put extra vegetables on my plate when I left, didn't you?" He is still holding his stomach.

"Maybe." Lily says innocently.

"Oh you are going to get it; the both of you." Roman says in a stern tone.

Lily and Emma walk away from, but when he gets up his stomach hurts more.

"Oww." He sits back down. "My stomach hurts badly. I ate way too much." He leans back on his chair.

Lily and Emma look at each other as they worry about him. "Daddy, come on let's get you on the couch." Emma is on one side with Lily on the other side to help him on the couch. They sit him up on the middle of the couch. Emma puts on their favourite family movie, Toy Story 2, as Lily snuggles up to Roman. After starting the movie, she gets a blanket to cover them before she snuggles herself up to her father on the other side. The opening scene starts as Roman has a smirk on his face while he brings her two girls closer.
