I'm sorry this is such a filler section, I think it's a good look into both sides though!

Jinx sighed as she settled into her room. At least it was a comfortable size. There was a bed, desk, couch and TV as well as a connected bathroom. But there was also a camera watching her every move. She wouldn't be able to use her magic to see Loki, to converse with him too much. The only time she could do that would be in the shower and it would be suspicious if she spent too much time in there.

She was tired, being put through her paces wasn't the hard part, holding back all but a sliver of her power was harder than she had expected. She went into the shower to clear and soothe her mind. There was only one message she wanted to give Loki now.

I love you.

Cara was more than a little startled when she heard a knock on her door. She was always startled when there was a knock these days. For a month the only people that came to her home worked for SHIELD and made her use her knowledge for their gain.

She stood and slowly walked to the door. She looked through the peephole and saw a tall, lean man with short black hair and dressed in strange clothes. Maybe this was the man that Jinx said would come.

She opened the door a crack, the chain still on, "Yes?"

"Are you Cara? Jinx sent me."

Cara let out a sigh of relief and closed the door, taking the chain off and opening it fully. "Come in. Quick. If SHIELD is watching seeing those clothes will tip them off to something strange."

Loki followed her instructions and entered her apartment, looking around curiously, of course many things here were the same as what was in Asgard, but there were also some strange items that he didn't recognize.

"Is there anything else you could possibly change into?"

The question startled him, he hadn't realized that the woman was so close, "I could use my magic to do so."

"No, that could be dangerous. Um, hold on, I might still have some of my ex's clothes, he was about your size," she mumbled heading into another room.

He trailed behind her and wandered around her bedroom, looking at things and opening some drawers.

"Excuse me," Cara said sharply, closing one of the drawers with a snap, "Don't be nosy."

"Nosy?"

"Yes, you do know what that means don't you?"

"Well… no, actually, I don't."

Cara sighed, "Some things are private and you shouldn't be rude and look through other people's things."

Oh, right, that was impolite, "I'm sorry, you are quite right, that was improper of me, please excuse my… nosiness was it?"

She nodded, "Yes, and you're forgiven," she said as she handed him a pair of black jeans and a navy blue sweater.

He took the clothes and began pulling off the leather armor he had donned before going through the bifrost, ready to fight if the need arose.

"Oh, um," Cara mumbled, "I'll just leave you to change." The fact that he was about to change in front of her was weird and uncomfortable so she left the room and headed into the kitchen. "Would you like something to drink?" she called out.

Loki was amused at the reaction he got from Jinx's friend, Midgardians were so prude. Once he was changed he folded his Asgardian clothes and set them on the bed before following the sound of Cara's voice.

"What do you have?"

"Uh, water, Coke, lemonade, some other kinds of pop.." she listed.

"Pop?" Loki asked, "The only thing I understood was the water."

"Oh, well Coke is a kind of pop, they're sugary, fizzy drinks of different flavors and lemonade is lemon juice, water and sugar."

"You really enjoy your sugar here," he commented under his breath. "I guess I'd like to try one of the pops," he said, the word feeling odd in this context.

"Which kind?" Cara asked as she set one can each of Sprite, Root Beer, Coke, Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper.

Loki surveyed the options, "Why are they named after such odd things. Who went to collect dew from a mountain?"

Cara couldn't help but laugh, "I never thought of it that way. They don't actually taste like the name normally. It is really odd."

"Which is your favorite?"

"Coke, the only reason I have the others are because my friends like them."

A sadness entered Loki's eyes, "May I have Jinx's favorite?"

Cara looked down, hating to see how sad he was without her. She handed over the can of Sprite, "She had a rather boring taste in drinks," she said gently.

Loki took the can and looked at it and then Jinx's friend, "How do you open it?"

"Oh, here, I'll show you," she said and did just that.

"That's a rather good idea," Loki mused and took a drink. He smiled sadly, imagining Jinx drinking the same thing right this moment.

Jinx had been accompanied by Clint to the cafeteria for dinner. She had lasagna and Sprite. She felt a gentle burning on her arm and knew it was a message and that she needed to be alone. "I'm going to the bathroom," she said as she stood abruptly and quickly made her way to the bathroom.

I'm with Cara, I like Sprite.

Jinx couldn't keep the tears from falling down her cheeks. She quickly sent a message back.

I'm drinking Sprite right now. I miss you. I just want you in bed with me, cuddling. I hope this doesn't take too long.

Loki smiled as he saw the words form on his arm, she was missing him as much as he was missing her. He knew she would be, but the confirmation made his heart swell.

"What is that?"

Cara's words broke into his happy moment and he fell sharply back to reality. He saw eyes fixated on his arm. "It's my way to communicate with her."

Cara smiled, "You'll always be with her. That will save both of you."
