NOTE: Guys it's been three years to date since I've started this story, and depending on when you're reading this based on time zones it's Dec. 28! I'm so excited and thankful for everyone who's stuck with me; new and old. Also I'm thinking about changing my username. I'm keeping the Baby part I just don't like the Shinji part anymore. So any ideas are great. I thinking BabyDoll or BabyCakes or something to that effect. I'm up for anything dangerous sounding or cute. Anything I can go off of.

[Chapter 36]
Vinci stared at the bathroom door as she heard the shower turn off. She had finished her shower not long before Xanxus jumped in. They had about forty minutes to finish getting ready before they had to set out to complete this mission. Sticking her legs into her leather pants, she struggled to get them on the rest of the way.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Xanxus asked walking out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist.
Vinci fell back onto the bed, giving up. "I hate these pants so much."
Xanxus just ignored her and started getting dress. Vinci tried again to pull her pants over her hips and with several tugs she finally got them to go. Sighing in victory, she stood up buttoning her pants and pulled on a red tank-top. Making sure the bandage around her neck was tight enough to stay on, she grabbed a brush from one of the bags that she had sent here and started brushing her hair.
"Woman go grab me a tie."
Vinci turned towards Xanxus to see that he was stuffing the bottom of his shirt into his pants. "Fine" Opening one of the upper drawers on his dresser, she grabbed a simple black tie and walked over. "Button your cuffs." She said before popping his collar up and pulling the tie around his neck. Xanxus didn't say anything to her and just let her fix his tie.
Someone knocked on the door before opening it. "Boss everyone is ready." Leviathan said coming in but stopped once he saw Vinci. "What is she doing in here?" He asked.
Vinci looked up at Xanxus before turning to his guardian. "I'm trying to strangle him with his own tie." She spat pulling the tie loose so it wouldn't choke him.
"Leave trash" Xanxus said walking over to his bed to grab his boots.
Leviathan glared at her before closing the door. Vinci snorted grabbed her belt out of her bag. "What an idiot." She pulled her belt through the loops of her pants and buckled it in the front. Grabbing her two storm boxes, she hooked them onto the belt with a pouch next to it. Vinci shoved her feet into her boots and looked at Xanxus. "You have everything?"
"Yes"
Vinci nodded before going through a list in her head. She had her phone in her back pocket, her two storm boxes, her pouch and all she was missing was her sunglasses. "I need to get my sunglasses from my car and then we can leave." She said zipping her bag up.
"It's fucking night time. You don't need sunglasses."
"I'm still wearing them."
"How long is it going to take for us to get there?" Bel asked once everyone was in the limo. Vinci sat next to Xanxus who looked uncomfortable being in a car with everyone.
"The driver said about an hour and a half." Lussuria said.
"VOI that's too long!" Squalo shouted.
Vinci pulled out her phone and started scrolling through some files she had on the man she needed to kill. She didn't know how long she was on her phone but the fighting never stopped. She had no idea how Xanxus could live with these people. Squalo never shut up for one and Leviathan was so far up his ass. Finishing the files she had she looked at the time to see they had an hour left.
"Squalo can you do me a favor?" Vinci asked staring at her phone.
"What?" He asked looking at her.
"Shut up for five minutes so I can make a phone call." Vinci said.
Squalo went to say something but Vinci held up a finger as she pressed her phone to her ear. Hearing the ringing she wasn't sure if he was going to answer the phone. It was about midnight where he was, and he could have went to bed early. The ringing stopped and she heard a noise on the other side. "Privet, dorogoy. (Hello dear)"
"Privet Kazimir. (Hello)" Vinci said catching the attention of the man next to her. She felt his eyes bore into the side of her head but she didn't look at him. "Ty spal? (Were you sleeping?)"
"Net, ya vse yeshche v moyem ofise. Chto tebe nuzhno? (No I'm still in my office. What do you need?)" Kazimir said through the phone. She could hear his printer going off in the background and someone typing on a computer.
"YA nashel nomer chetyre v nashem spiske predatelya. YA v nastoyashcheye vremya na puti, chtoby poluchit' yego. YA prosto zvonyu, chtoby vy znayete. (I found number four on our traitor list. I'm currently on the way to get him. I was just calling to let you know.)" She could hear her husband chuckle. He must have been happy with her.
"Otlichnaya rabota. Vy znayete, chto vy dolzhny delat'. YA dam znat', Feliks, chtoby peresech' yego imya iz spiska. (Good job. You know what you have to do. I'll let Feliks know to cross his name from the list.)" Kazimir said. Vinci could feel her stomach twist at the sound of his name. She never liked Feliks. He made her nervous and being around him wasn't the best for anyone.
"Proshchay. (Goodbye)" Vinci said hanging up. Putting her phone in her pouch, she turned to Squalo. "So what's the plan?"
"You're trying to kill me." Vinci said putting her earpiece in.
Xanxus stood behind her having already put his in. "Just get in and turn off the lasers." He said. They were hiding in the trees watching as the security switched for the night. Lasers were at all entrances' of this family's property, and all she had to do was get past one and figure out how to take down all the outside ones.
Once things got quiet again, Vinci made her move to the nearest gate. The guard didn't look that strong nor was he paying must attention to anything. When he turned his back Vinci bent under the first laser before falling into a split to get passed the lowest one. Standing up onto her feet, she hoped that the lasers inside were much harder than that. Walking up behind the guard, she wrapped an arm around his neck and covered his mouth with her free hand. "I wouldn't make a sound if I were you." She said dragging him over to a keypad. "I need you to turn off the outside lasers. Can you do that for me?"
The man tried to fight her but Vinci just held him tighter. "You wouldn't want me to kill you now would you? I'm sure you have a family at home and if you want to see them alive I suggest your turn off the lasers." She asked moving her hands so that one hand had his jaw and the other was holding onto the back of his head by his hair.
The man reached forward and typed the code into the keypad and instantly the lasers cut off. Without a second thought before the man did anything else, Vinci twisted his head and heard a pop. "OI! What did you do?" Flinching at Squalo's voice in her ear, she let the man fall to the ground.
"Squalo don't scream into the earpiece." Vinci said looking around. "I'm heading in. Xanxus, Lussuria are you coming/"
Lussuria skipped out of the forest and caught up to her while Xanxus took his sweet time. "Alright boys, don't have too much fun without us!" Lussuria said before leaving Vinci and Xanxus behind.
"There is something wrong with him." Vinci said following after the flamboyant man.
Xanxus just stared at the girl in front of him. He had just watched her kill someone. He didn't want to say anything but he felt disturbed. It never seemed to cross his mind that she killed people even if she was an assassin. Although she had moments were she'd hit him or threw stuff at him but he knew that she'd never be able to stomach the thought of actually killing someone, but she did.
He stopped when Vinci looked around the foyer of the mansion. "What?"
"Which way did Lussuria go?" Vinci asked trying to see if she could spot any vivid bright color.
"Let's just get to the hallway." Xanxus said leaving Vinci to follow after him. The mansion was quiet and she hadn't heard anyone screaming or people making noises so she assumed most people were gone or asleep. They climbed the stairs and walked down several more hallways. Vinci was sure that Xanxus had them lost. Everything looked the same and they were getting nowhere.
"Xanxus do you know where you're going?" She asked still behind him.
"I hope not. I wouldn't want you roaming around looking for something specific." Freezing Vinci muttered something under her breath. She didn't even hear this man come up behind them and from the way Xanxus stopped he didn't either.
Looking over her shoulder and saw a gun pointed at her. Raising her hands up in defeat she turned around. "There's no reason to be so defensive. If you walk away now I promise we won't hurt you." Vinci said.
"I don't think so." He said turning the safety off his gun.
It sounded like thunder and shined so brightly it hurt Vinci's eyes. Covering her head, she heard something hit the ground and something start to burn. Opening her eyes, she looked down to see the guy on the floor with half of his face burned and a smoking bullet in his head. "Xanxus that's disgusting." She said turning around to look at him.
"Scum was in my way." He said leaving her again.
Vinci dragged herself further to whichever way Xanxus was taking her. It only took a few more turns before she saw a thirty foot hallway covered in lasers. "Xanxus I think those opening are too small for me to get through." She said bending down to get a better view. "The ones outside were much larger. I'm sure Leviathans fat ass could have fit through."
"Woman"
"Always so pushy." Vinci said stepping forward and lifting a leg over one laser before ducking under another. By the time she got halfway through she wasn't even sure what direction she was going. Bent backwards, with one hand forward and one underneath her she pushed off a leg bring it close to her body before pushing off the other one. When the first leg was clear of a laser she stretched it forward so it hit the floor. Pushing up with her arms, she raised a few inches allowing her other leg to meet the other.
"You look ridiculous." Xanxus stated leaning against a wall with his arms crossed.
"I don't need your comments right now Xanxus." Vinci said falling into a split and sliding beneath one of the red lights. "As you can see I'm busy."
"Hurry up before someone else comes." He said watching as she pulled herself into a handstand and then spread her legs out. "And close your damn legs."
"Shut up Xanxus." Vinci said standing up to her full height. Looking past the red lights she flicked him off. Opening the door to escape Xanxus' glare she peaked in finding no one was in the room. Stepping in she noticed it was more of an office than some place to hide something valuable. Vinci glanced over the room looked for any camera's or traps. Not seeing any she walked over to the desk and shoved things around. "How hard is it to find a flash drive?" She said to herself opening drawers. Looking inside of a cup she found it. It was small and blue and exactly what Xanxus said it looked like. Vinci didn't bother putting everything back in its place and walked out the room closing the door behind her.
"Xan-." Vinci stopped as something blocked her view. Taking a deep breath she looked up to see a really big man looked down at her. "Hello"
He didn't say anything and just pulled out his gun. Feeling a sudden twisting in her stomach, she dropped down and covered her head. The sound of gunshots and people shouting erupted in the halls and in her earpiece, someone must have noticed them break in. Vinci felt someone yank her off her feet and start pulling her down the hall. "Don't make me drag you woman."
She looked up to see Xanxus had her. "Where are we going?" She asked now running on her own. Xanxus shot at a window breaking not only the glass but the wall. Jumping through she followed him, through the forest and wherever he was taking her. Pressing a finger to her earpiece she tried to contact Squalo. "How are you doing Squalo?" She asked hearing god knows what behind her.
"VOI! What did you and the stupid boss do while in there?!" Squalo screamed.
"We got what we came for. We're leaving the rest to you." She said ignoring the ringing in her ear from his scream.
Vinci wasn't sure how long they kept running but it was long enough to reach the closest city. Standing on top of a twenty story building, Xanxus held binoculars to his face staring in the direction they just came from. Vinci tossed the flash drive up and down in her hand, now bored with their situation. "Are we seriously going to wait until they're done killing everyone?" She asked.
Xanxus didn't say anything and just took the flash drive from her hand. So Vinci took the binoculars from his. Lifting it up to her face she watched as the mansion started to burn. "Why did they light that place on fire?"
"They can do whatever the hell they want."
"Does that also include not realizing a group of ten or so men are heading our way?" Vinci said handing Xanxus back the binoculars.
Xanxus looks through the eyewear before cursing and tossing the binoculars off the building. Pressing a finger to her earpiece once again she calls Squalo's name. "VOI what is it?"
Vinci watches the group of men getting closer. "I just wanted to let you know that about ten people are heading towards Xanxus and I, and that you might want to get them before they get to us. Xanxus doesn't seem to be in a very good mood and I'm starting to feel sore."
"Shishishi~" Bel's laugh interrupted her conversation. "Looks like Squalo messed up."
"How can you allow anyone to hurt the boss?!" Vinci heard Leviathan scold.
"Why are you yelling at me? You let them go through too!" Squalo shouted frustrated.
Vinci placed her head in her hands. There were a bunch of children who blamed each other for their own mistakes. No wonder Xanxus seemed annoyed when they were around. "Don't worry we're on our way!" Lussuria pipped in.
"That's not really going to help us." Vinci said watching as the group of men were only a few buildings away. "Do you want to make the first attack or me?" Vinci asked Xanxus.
All she got was a sound of acknowledgement meaning in general, she was going to do all the work. Lighting her fingers to a beautiful red she waited for them to hit their roof top. When the first man landed, she attacked quickly slicing his neck open. This however did not stop the other men from coming. Grabbing ahold of an arm, she pulled it out of its socket and slammed the body onto the roof. Swinging around she kicked her leg up and slammed it into the side of another sending him flying. Vinci pulled her elbow back breaking someone's nose and knocking them off their feet which sent them falling off the roof. Ducking from a knife, she grabbed the man's face and watched as he fell to his knees in pain as her flames dug into his face.
"Wrath"
Knowing only certain people call her that, she turned spotting her target. "If it isn't the traitor." She said.
His eyes traveled down to the man who was trying to get Vinci to let go of his face. "Would you let him go? It doesn't look like he enjoys that very much."
Allowing her flames to travel further, the storm flame engulfed her hand causing the man to scream more and when Vinci had enough she threw him off the building. "Xanxus will you be fine on your own?" She asked never looking away from her target.
"Go woman." He said.
Realizing that she had the signal to go, the traitor ran for it with Vinci on his tail. It was a good thing that Vinci read his file before meeting him. She knew he wasn't all that fast but he had a very good stamina. He used knives in sticky situations but most of the time used his hands. He was mostly offensive unless he knew that the person was better than him. Stopping at the edge of a roof she saw him land on the next one. It was a shaky landing but he got up and kept moving. Jumping off Vinci landed gracefully and ran after him.
Vinci watched as her target paused a few building ahead. In front of him was a much taller building. He was either going to have to jump to his doom or face her, and he didn't seem like an idiot. Vinci slowed her pace to a walk and she let him contemplate. Face death by jumping or death by her. Hearing her footsteps the man tensed up and turned to her pulling out a knife. Well maybe he was an idiot, she would have picked to jump off the roof but unlike him she would have survived. "I had thought since your rank is 2 – 27 you would be smart enough to jump, but I guess not." Vinci said.
"It's not a very honorable way to die." He said.
"Betraying your family isn't a very honorable thing to do either, but you still did it." Vinci said stopping a few feet away. "Why did you do it?"
"Because this war we're having is stupid! The French and our people have never fully agreed on anything but that doesn't mean killing young innocent people is right. We blame each other for the people that died but not one person realizes that if we stopped fighting no one would be dead. If it wasn't for you, this war wouldn't have started!" He said pointing at her. "It's all because of your relation with Vongola! This is why the boss doesn't like having people in the family that aren't from the sister nations. It causes trouble, and he married you for it!"
Vinci glared at him. "You don't need to tell me what I already know about my marriage."
The man spat at her. "If you're going to kill me I suggest you do it now."
Vinci reached down and started undoing her belt. "Did you ever tell anyone things about the family?" She asked pulling the belt off and tossing it to the side. "Did you ever reveal any secrets?"
"No I'm not that stupid." He said.
Vinci nodded and let her storm flames consume her. "I guess your death won't be as painful then." Her voice came out rougher as it penetrated the flames around her. She left scorch marks were she stood as she attacked him. He didn't stand much of a chance against her. While he had a good defense, he made mistakes because of her appearance causing large gashes to appear on his body. Grabbing his arm she flipped him onto his back. Vinci took a step onto his ankle and applied pressure, once she heard a crack and a cry from the man she knew he wasn't going to run away anymore.
Letting her flames disappear Vinci walked back over to her belt and opened her pouch. "What they say it true." She heard him say from his spot. Grabbing the bottle and bag she needed, she walked back over.
"What is true?" She asked looking down at him.
"You do look like the devil when you let loose."
She didn't say anything. Vinci had known that for years which is why it wasn't very often she allowed her flames to get that far. Bending down she popped the bottle open and poured it on his body. "Since you've remained quiet about the family I'll make sure you're dead first before I lite you up." She said emptying the bottle.
"Should I say thank you?" He snapped.
Vinci grabbed his head and slammed it back cracking his head open. Blood spread out staining the floor beneath them. Remaining careful, Vinci lite one finger and held the flame close to the liquid on the body. Once it caught on, the body started to burn a red color.
"OI woman what are you doing!"
Standing up she saw Varia heading her way. Well she really couldn't explain this one.
Xanxus watched the woman sleeping next to him. She was completely knocked out not even five minutes after they had gotten in the car. Giving her a glance over, he caught the blood splatter on her boots, and dried blood on part of her hands he could see from underneath his jacket. He didn't know what she did when she left to chase her target, but when they got there his body was burning and she looked like she just got finished putting out the fire on herself. Part of her clothing was burn, leaving holes in multiple places. Her shirt couldn't be saved so she took his jacket to save herself some dignity.
"I hate the smell of burnt flesh." Leviathan muttered.
And the body of her target was in a body bag in the trunk. She apparently needed it for some stupid reason.
The car slowed to a stop and Xanxus looked out the window to see they were still in the middle of the forest. "VOI why the hell did you stop!" Squalo screamed banging on the window separating them from the driver.
Xanxus looked at Vinci to see she was still knocked out. "There seems to be something blocking us." The driver stuttered through the window.
A knock came from the window on Vinci's door before it was opened to reveal Watson. "I apologize for the sudden interruption but I came to retrieve Madam and the body." He said wrapping an arm around the woman. Xanxus motioned for him to take her not seeing what the point would be to keep her. "I have already gotten Madam's car and other items from Varia, and I shall return your jacket tomorrow Master Xanxus." Watson said noticing the new piece of clothing Vinci wore.
They heard multiple voices and someone popping the trunk open. "Thank you for allowing Madam to accompany you." Watson said picking Vinci up in his arms. "Have a nice night." With that the door close.
"VOI! What the hell was that about?!"
