Characters: Trafalgar Law, Heart Pirates crew
XXXVI
Law was not a man given to nostalgia, so it went without saying that he did not indulge in melancholic remembrances. If his crewmates ever did, they knew well not to involve him as he would sooner give them work to busy themselves with than sympathize with them.
The Heart Pirates captain had no qualms with being left out of that particular bonding ritual. That they had each other to relate those concerns with was enough of a stress relief for them. In time, their longing for their home sea left them, as it had left Law himself; their life in the Grand Line was all that filled their days, as if it was the only life they had ever lived.

Law walked out onto the deck, stretching and taking in the chilly salty air. All that would reflect the moon's cold glow was brightly lit, but the sea was a dark glassy span stretched out to the horizon. Over it, a cloudless sky held the rainbow-rimmed halo of the evening sun.
The pirate very nearly missed his crewmates lying side by side on the lower deck had it not been such a bright night. They were usually a rowdy bunch, always teasing and insulting one another every chance they could get. If they had been so before Law arrived, then they must have long quieted down, for the still air brought him no echoes of their chatter. Some had fallen asleep while other trained their eyes to the sky.
Law followed their sight, and found there a familiar constellation. A rare one seen only in winter, but one any child raised in North Blue had seen at least once in their childhood days. Through thinning clouds or the clear skies between storms, but always low over the horizon. Here it was almost precisely above their heads.
Excited whispering reached his ears; the boys were starting up again.
With a sigh and a shake of his head, Trafalgar Law enveloped the deck in his Room, and from the sea-drenched air, drew crystal snowflakes to cast over his reminiscing crewmates.
A/N: Law's little trick of condensing water vapor is strictly a Christmas-fanfic-only skill. XD
Happy holidays everybody! Here's a sort of Christmas-y Heart Log for you all. :)
To Aslightlybadasshuman, 10th Squad 3rd Seat & ThexWhitexPhoenix:
Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for the holiday greetings. ^w^
To Trafalgar Law:
I'm happy to hear that you like them. :) I didn't really think much on it, but Orion seems like the perfect constellation for it.
