Story Start!
"Uzumaki Na-"
Obito didn't even get to finish what he was saying as Naruto and Sasuke rushed each other, fists colliding with a visible shockwave around the two boys. They said nothing as they gave each other their full attention. Sasuke completely ignoring his earlier plan in favor of starting the fight against Naruto off himself, knowing that the Reincarnates would join the fight when Orochimaru decided to summon them again.
You are my goal.
You were my obstacle.
Naruto kicked Sasuke in the arm as he reached for his sword, and Sasuke created a Chidori in his hand and swung it at the front of Naruto's neck. Naruto grabbed Sasuke's wrist and prevented the lightning blade from cutting his head off. Swinging his other fist, he planned on punching Sasuke in the face, but Sasuke saw what was about to happen when his eyes gained the Sharingan in them. The Chidori in his hand vanished and he grabbed ahold of Naruto's hand.
'I can't do anything.' Yami kept her eyes on Orochimaru, Obito, and Zetsu, prepared to call out to Naruto the second any of them tried anything. She wasn't strong enough to fight them, but they couldn't fly, so with her wings out she wisely watched over the fight.
"I'm-"
"-Borrowing your hand." Naruto finished with Sasuke. Sasuke manipulated Naruto's right hand into finishing the seals for a Fireball Jutsu, while Naruto manipulated Sasuke's right hand into finishing the sign for his Shadow Clone Jutsu. The two of them broke apart and Sasuke took a deep breath, while a plume of smoke appeared around Naruto. Sasuke blew a massive sized fireball that turned the sand under them into glass instantly. Naruto came out of the back of the smoke with a fuma shuriken in his hand, and he threw it away from the fireball as it sped at him. 'His jutsu is stronger than before.' Naruto threw the fuma shuriken with a curve to it so that it travelled around the fireball and towards Sasuke himself.
Sasuke smirked and glanced at it, seeing it coming from a mile away. He jumped over it with ease, while Naruto jumped over his fireball and threw a second fuma shuriken at Sasuke while he had little air maneuverability. The response was Sasuke leaning back and avoiding it as it went flying towards the first thrown weapon.
Sasuke frowned and righted himself in the air, summoning three regular shuriken and running lightning chakra over them.
*poof*
The first Fuma shuriken transformed into a Naruto clone and caught the second one, before throwing it at Sasuke. He threw the shuriken in an arc, with one of them hitting the other in the air. That way one of the shuriken went flying backwards to the real Naruto, and the other went forward to the clone Naruto. Naruto created a clone in the air that pulled him out of the path of the shuriken, while Sasuke caught the fuma shuriken and flung it towards the real Naruto as the clone Naruto was popped by his shuriken.
The first time we worked together.
Our first battle together.
No words were needed.
Sasuke watched as the fuma shuriken transformed in mid-air again, this one ALSO being a Naruto clone. This Naruto clone holding a technique that Sasuke had never seen before above his head.
"Rasenshuriken!"
It was dangerous though as it went flying towards him faster than he was capable of easily dodging. Based on the name though, it was some kind of version of the Rasengan, with wind chakra. His lightning chakra would be useless against the jutsu, and based on the chakra of the jutsu, any Fire jutsu weaker than an S-Class wouldn't be able to match it either.
*Poof*
"Clones again..." Sasuke growled under his breath when he dodged the Rasenshuriken, and it transformed back into a clone of Naruto. The clone behind him was holding a Rasengan in hand, so Sasuke created his Chidori once more. He swung his Chidori and sent Chidori Senbon out at the real Naruto and the clone that he created to dodge the earlier shuriken. He rushed at the clone behind him, and stabbed the clone through the chest with the chidori. He heard two pained shouts, and he turned his attention back to the original Naruto.
Both of the Narutos that got stabbed by the chidori senbon vanished in puffs of smoke.
Sasuke instantly turned back to the Naruto that got stabbed through the chest, to see him still rushing him. The Rasengan now inches away from his arm, and he grabbed onto the arm and stopped it from hitting him with as much strength as he could manage.
Feel pain!
This is nothing compared to the pain you're in.
*Poof*
"How many clones did you make!?" Sasuke shouted when the Rasengan itself poofed and turned into a Naruto clone. Sasuke couldn't dodge as he was slugged in the face full force, and sent flying across the desert sands. He bounced once before he caught himself and skid across the desert, and Naruto grabbed the hole in his chest with a pained look on his face for a moment.
There was a large hole through his right lung.
"Naruto!"
"Stay up there Yami-chan, I'm fine... give me a second, I'll be healed soon enough." Naruto spoke as the hole in his chest started to heal up. Naruto unzipped his jacket and tossed it on the ground next to him, while Sasuke saw the clone of Naruto was standing in front of Naruto protectively. It was a small break in the fight, since they were just testing the waters at the moment. He had yet to use his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and Naruto had yet to power up to one of those forms he had heard so much about. They were trying to kill each other, but right now they weren't fighting at their full potential either.
Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other, while Naruto reached up and grabbed his headband, before he lifted it over his head and took the symbol of his status as a ninja off and looked at it.
'What is he doing?' Sasuke thought as he watched Naruto.
Naruto tossed his headband to the side, and he raised his fists up.
'Naruto-kun has grown well in the time I've been dead.' Orochimaru looked between his own pupil, and his rival's pupil with interest. He placed his hands together and summoned 4 coffins from the sand, knowing that it would be time to unleash them soon enough. He would do it when the impact would be at it's greatest, but right now it would seem that he was being watched.
Sasuke was just stunned when he saw Naruto throw his headband to the ground.
"Sasuke, I just want to say, that everything you've done up to this point... I've come to understand it. Right now, I'm not fighting you as Naruto Uzumaki, Shinobi of the Hidden Leaf... All of that pain in you, let it all out right now." Naruto spoke softly as he prepared to fight once more. He didn't need to say much else, since Sasuke wasn't the type to listen to words.
Sasuke frowned.
"I'll kill you." Sasuke spoke just as calmly.
Black marks started to spread over his body, his skin turning grey as the whites of his eyes turned black. His black hair lightened as well, but he didn't grow the hands out of his back that Naruto had seen in this form.
"The Curse Mark... but Itachi destroyed it..." Obito spoke as he turned his head to Orochimaru.
"I gave him a Curse Mark once... do you think I can't do it again?" Orochimaru asked with a sly, raised eyebrow. All it took was him biting somebody to give them the mark, and Sasuke's body was already attuned to the mark once. Doing it again was a little matter, all it took was one more bite and Sasuke had his Cursed Seal of Heaven back.
Naruto entered Sage Mode.
"I'm sorry, but I have somebody waiting for me. I won't die." Naruto told Sasuke as the two collided again. This time, everyone was knocked back a few feet when their strengths were greatly enhanced by their forms. Naruto's fist collided with Sasuke's forearm, and a bruise started to appear on it already. "Your Curse Seal is only a bastardized version of Senjutsu, the strength, speed, durability, and chakra it gives won't compete... and I've trained with Kakashi-sensei and you enough to know how to avoid the Sharingan." Naruto spoke with his eyes closed.
With eyes closed, he wouldn't be placed under a Genjutsu, but he could still fight with Sage Mode.
You're not my goal anymore.
Today, this pain goes away.
Sasuke's eyes transformed into their higher form, and his eye started to bleed. Naruto sensed the change in chakra, and he flipped away from Sasuke as black flames passed over his body. The flames started to change direction and follow after Naruto though.
'The Amaterasu... so he can use this jutsu like Itachi... I can't let that hit me.' Naruto thought as he felt it chasing after him. It was growing in size and power as it did, and Sasuke ran towards him from the other side with a black chidori. It would seem that playtime was now over, so Naruto's body transformed as his reached his next form as well.
Sasuke frowned deeply.
Naruto caught the black flames with a large yellow chakra arm, before he tossed them away. He moved out of the way as Sasuke passed by, only for his rival to stop. Black lightning coursed around his body as he spread his chidori out over a wide area. Yami flew up higher to avoid getting caught in the attack herself, while Orochimaru opened up the coffins.
'... That isn't... I recognize that chakra.' Naruto felt four more shinobi join the battle as they rushed him from behind. He got images of them, and for three of the four, he knew who they were without even needing to see them. Golden chains burst out of the ground and wrapped around his foot, his Kurama Mode vanishing in the blink of an eye as his chakra was suppressed by the golden chains. Naruto was in basic Sage Mode once more, and he blocked a large sword strike with one arm, ice senbon with his other arm, before he flat out took the last fist to his back. "Zabuza... Haku... Pervy Sage... This isn't how-"
"Kushina Uzumaki!"
...
"... Ma?" Naruto asked as his eyes opened and he looked right at his mom for the first time. The woman shouted out her own name, since hers was the only one that had been left unsaid. She smiled and waved her hand towards him, forcing Orochimaru to reinforce his control over her once more to. "Sasuke... you had Orochimaru bring back my Mom?" Naruto looked at Sasuke with shock.
That was low.
"What am I, chopped liver."
Naruto kicked Sasuke in the face, while also slamming his fists into Haku and Zabuza's stomachs, sending all three of them flying with his Senjutsu strength. Naruto turned around and caught Jiraiya's second punch, giving Jiraiya the chance to look at Naruto. The older, more dead, man looked in surprise when he gazed into Naruto's eyes. Kushina fought against Orochimaru's control the best that she could, all things considered, as the chain on Naruto's leg loosened up enough for him to escape. She might not be able to help, but fuck it if she was going to be forced to go on the offensive against Naruto.
"I'll admit, this jutsu sure is handy... It's nice to have some real power again." Obito spoke as he watched Sasuke land and steady himself, while Zabuza and Haku had their chests blown open by Naruto's punches.
Nice to see things going his way, finally.
Orochimaru smirked lightly.
"Really, because Minato would not agree with you."
"Wha-"
"RASENGAN!" Obito didn't get to finish when out of nowhere, a Rasengan hit him in the back of the neck. Minato appearing out of nowhere as he killed the Uchiha male before he could even register that Orochimaru had betrayed him. Orochimaru on the other hand, placed his hands together and gave out his final mental command as he started to sink into the sand.
There had to be a spaceship on this planet he could steal for himself.
'... Orochimaru betrayed me...' Sasuke should have seen it coming, he really should have. He stood up straight, and dusted himself off as he drew his sword. Lightning ran across the edge, making sure it would be sharp enough to damage Naruto as he was now.
"I've got a lot to talk to all of you about... but it can wait until after I fight Sasuke... I've got a lot to ask all of you." Naruto started to walk towards Sasuke, with Sasuke walking towards him as well.
Minato appeared behind Naruto and placed a hand on his back.
"Pa?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow, before he felt chakra getting transfered out of his father, and into his own body. Familiar but unfamiliar chakra, something that he was actually used to. "Tailed Beast Chakra?" Naruto asked as the chakra of the 8 other Tailed Beasts started to enter his body.
Minato nodded.
"Orochimaru believed it would be smarter if this chakra wasn't inside of the that statue. He summoned me to unseal this chakra. He figured it would be better if this chakra was in your hands, rather than somebody who wishes to use it to revive a monster." Minato had been filled in by Orochimaru on what the Akatsuki was, and what their goal was.
Orochimaru wasn't dumb.
If the Ten Tails were ever revived, it would be bad for everyone. It was best to trust the Tailed Beasts with somebody who was 'foolish, but trustworthy' enough to have the power, but never be corrupted by it. Minato didn't like how Orochimaru was so negative about his son, but he was happy to be able to place his trust in his son once more.
Naruto froze in place when the chakra entered his body.
Sasuke froze in place as his Curse Mark receded back into a sealed form.
Two changes happened.
Naruto's eyes transformed as they lost their orange rings, and changed into cross shaped pupils. Naruto blinked as he unfroze, and he looked at the white sun that appeared on his right palm. Sasuke on the other hand, his left eye changed into a purple Rinnegan as he flexed his hands, feeling a powerful chakra inside of him now. Both of them seemed stronger the second that Naruto gained the Tailed Beasts chakra into his own seal.
Haku and Zabuza ran towards Sasuke, no longer being forced to fight Naruto, and Sasuke raised his hands and caught them. They were pulled off of their feet, before their souls were ripped out of their bodies. Their bodies turning into ashes once more as the White Zetsu that made up their bodies visible inside of the ashes.
"Rinnegan... What?" Jiraiya asked as Yami came down and landed on the sand.
Sasuke's right eye turned into his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan form.
Naruto transformed as his body gained a black flame bodysuit, with a golden jacket jacket with black markings on the back. 9 black balls appeared floating behind his back, though his skin stayed the same despite his hair glowing golden.
'My baby has grown...' Kushina didn't know what to say.
'He's a man a now.' Minato saw Naruto walk calmly towards Sasuke, while Jiraiya just sat down on the sand and watched his student walking towards Sasuke with pride in his eyes.
"Naruto... now, you die."
"Sasuke..." Naruto locked eyes with Sasuke, and saw the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Naruto blinked, before he gagged and raised his hand up and started to cough. "... I'm going to throw up..." Naruto muttered as he powered down and leaned over. Sasuke decided to take his chance while he had it, and before anyone could jump in front of Naruto to protect him... Naruto threw up.
Naruto threw up... a large crow.
A Crow with a Sharingan eye, a Sharingan that transformed into a four pointed symbol as it attained it's own Mangekyo Sharingan form. Sasuke locked eyes with the Sharingan Crow dead on as he ran at Naruto, before he was stopped in his tracks.
Protect Konoha at all costs.
"Oh my GOD that was awful... is that the same crow... What the hell is going on?" Naruto asked with widened eyes, completely shocked to see Sasuke no longer moving towards him. Instead, Sasuke was staring off into space with a blank look on his face. Naruto stood back up and sighed to himself, the feeling around Sasuke having changed again. The darkness around him having... changed once more. The crow landed on Naruto's shoulder, with Naruto looking at the bird with a raised eyebrow.
"What's going on?" Yami asked as she came close to Naruto.
Kushina raised an eyebrow, as did Minato when they saw the unfamiliar girl... who they sensed no chakra from oddly enough.
"Naruto... how can I protect Konoha?" Sasuke questioned Naruto softly as his eyes turned up to his only friend.
Naruto didn't know what to say.
"... You can't, the second you ever step foot in the village, you'll be sentenced to death..." Naruto told Sasuke with an unsure tone.
What the hell was going on.
"I see... I have to protect Konoha at all costs." Sasuke spoke, and everyone shared looks. Kushina and Minato, who had no experience with Sasuke, looked at Naruto and Jiraiya, both of them just as confused as anyone. Sasuke just placed his hands together, and Naruto brought his hands up to get ready for a fight against Sasuke. "Please, protect Konoha for me... Gedo... Rinne Tensei..." Sasuke muttered to himself.
Gaining the Rinnegan gave the person the knowledge of all of it's techniques.
Including the Rinne Rebirth Justu.

This is why I had Sasuke kill Sakura.
To push him to the point of insanity, so that he would blame the only person he believed could have stopped him.
Sasuke, at this point, was addicted to revenge, so he would want to inflict as much pain on Naruto as he could, and have Orochimaru bring back his loved ones to hurt him.
Orochimaru doesn't play sides, all he wants to do is survive, and he won't survive if Sasuke or Obito gets their way, so his only move would be to give Naruto the Tailed Beast's chakras by summoning Minato to steal the chakra out of the Gedo Statue.
With Naruto gaining the chakra, Hagoromo appeared in front of him and Sasuke (I didn't show this part) and gave them his chakra once both conditions had been fulfilled.
Since Naruto didn't fight in the war, and Kabuto died before he could bring back Itachi, Naruto still had Itachi's Crow.
The best way for Sasuke to defend Konoha, would be to support Naruto... by bringing back his loved ones.
Basically, I killed Sakura as a way to bring back Kushina, Minato, and Jiraiya.
