And time did tell. As the weeks went by, things were settling down and everyone's life was finally falling into place. Jack, Jerry, Leo and Kyle were on the streets, patrolling their areas with the supervision of a senior officer as they were all on probation for the first month of duty. Kim and Haley's dance studios were thriving with new business always coming in. Misty and Alex had finally settled in New York with the two best friends moving into an apartment together, two blocks over from Kim. Hilary and Luke were keeping busy with school as Sophia was busy with school along with dancer classes, joining one of Misty's classes and absolutely loving it. Jack and Kim were taking things slow, trying to balance their careers and personal lives before taking the next and final step, for hopefully the last time. Jerry and Hilary were doing well, also deciding on taking their relationship slowly as this was a new thing for the both of them. Leo and Alex hit it off right away and Misty? Well, she had no one in particular but Kim and Hilary begged Jack and Jerry to find someone for her because one, they didn't want her to feel left out and two, because Hilary really, really wanted her 'new' sister to be happy.

So, of course, Jack and Jerry agreed and tried but came up empty handed for weeks as all the guys they met and talked too were just plain conceited and douches and Misty deserved better than that. But, one day, after a long and crazy shift, Jack spotted Kyle talking to a new guy he's seen a few times, though never had the chance to actually talk with him but from what he could tell, Kyle liked the guy as they were talking and laughing. Jack continued on with his business, changing back into his street clothes and when the he heard the conversation ending, he stood back and waited for the unknown guy to leave before making his way over to Kyle and asking him about twenty questions. It only took a few more minutes for the guy to leave and have it only be Jack and Kyle and Jack hated that he felt like such a girl right now. "Hey Kyle", Jack greeted, walking up behind Kyle.

Kyle turns his head, looking over his shoulder to see Jack. "Oh, hey Jack", he smiles with a nod.

"So, how was your shift?" Jack wondered, rocking back and forth on his feet.

"Um, it was good. Not much happened and Leo was just being Leo. How was yours?" Kyle asked curiously.

"Same as you, pretty good. I just can't wait until we're on our own. We got one more week left", Jack stated with a wicked smile.

"Oh man, me either. It's going to be hella fun", Kyle agrees with a nod.

"So listen, I don't mean to pry but who was that guy you were talking with earlier?" Jack inquired.

Kyle let out a low chuckles, shaking his head and answering, "Dude, if you started out with that, we could have avoided that awkward girl talk. But to answer your question, that was Dean. He's a new officer like us, got transferred from 25th and actually graduated with us. Why...Wait? Is that about Misty?"

Jack gave him a guilty smile and nodded a yes, adding, "So, do you like him? Like is he a good guy?"

Kyle thought for a second, thinking about it before responding, "Honestly, yeah. He's a good guy and I think he and Misty would be a good match but I don't want Misty thinking we're forcing this guy on her".

"Huh, that a good point. We can't have our sister hating us already. Just keeping being his friend and I'll talk to Kim about this", Jack suggested, not knowing what else to do.

"Deal. And good luck", Kyle finished, closing his locker and grabbing his bag.

Jack laughed as the two exited the locker room and headed down the hallway to the parking lot. They nodded goodbye and Jack decided to head to Kick Step, Kim's dance studio as it was still early enough in the evening. He pulls into the parking lot twenty minutes later to see a bunch of cars still there and wonders what's going on. Quickly parking and getting out of his car, Jack makes his way inside the building to see a group of parents standing out in the hallway as he quietly joins then and looks through the glass window to see Kim and Misty dancing, like a full on dance routine and all he can do it watch in awe. He knew Kim was good, no great and from what he's heard, Misty was just as good but actually seeing the two of them dancing together, they were phenomenal.

A few minutes later, the duo finished their routine and cheers erupted throughout the building. Both Kim and Misty were shocked and slightly embarrassed to see that they had an audience as they thought they were just dancing for the group of kids in the class but took a bow and waved a thank you as a blush appeared on their faces. Misty excused the class as they group of ten year olds ran to grab their bags and then out the door. "Hi Officer Brewer", a few students waved as their parents smiled.

"Hey guys", Jack replies with a grin, high fiving them as they walked by.

Once the halls were empty, Jack made his way inside to see Kim, Misty and Alex laughing and chatting away, "Evening Ladies", Jack greets, interrupting their conversation.

"Hey Jack", Misty and Alex respond, sending him a wave as Kim gets up and greets him with a short kiss.

"Wait? Are you guys together now?" Alex bluntly asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Lex", Misty hisses.

"Um, kind of", Kim mumbles.

"How can it be kind of? I mean, you guys kiss, go on dates and are all lovey dovey so, either your dating out not", Alex points out firmly.

"Alex, you have no room to talk because whatever you and Leo have going on isn't any different", Kim shoots back,

"Um, excuse me but it's way different. Leo and I are just friends. We haven't been a real date nor have we kissed. But you two, you've dated, kiss and have had sex so please, for the love of god, just make it official because whether you like it or not, everyone single one of us is rooting for the two of you", Alex, huffs, catching her breath.

Kim and Alex stare each other down, both being stubborn and not backing down as Misty grumbles, "Way to make the single girl feel super awkward", which causes everyone to laugh. "I'm glad you all find my none existent love life entertaining", she whines.

"Oh Mis, we don't find it funny. Sorry for laughing but trust us, you'll find the perfect guy one day", Alex promises her best friend as the two share a hug.

"Aww…" Kim and Jack sigh from behind as Misty rolls her eyes but waves the couple over to them as the four share a group hug.

"So, are you guys back together or not?" Misty questions Jack and Kim.

"Maybe, you'll know soon enough", Jack winks at Misty.

Kim just shakes her head and walks away with Alex following right behind her, leaving Misty and Jack alone. "So listen, I know you hate when we meddle in your life but I think I found someone for you, well, actually Kyle did. What do you think" Jack probes.

"You found someone? Why? Wait…did Kim and Alex put you up to this?" Misty growls.

"Er….you got half right. It was actually Kim and Hilary. But in their defense, they just want you to be happy", Jack reasoned.

"This is what happens when you too many girl friends", Misty thought to herself and then replied, "Jack, trust me, I really appreciate yours and Kyle's help but I'm ok with being single right now. And no offense, but all of us dating officers is kind of cliché, you know. What if I wanted to date a lawyer? A doctor? Teacher? Businessman? Do you know any?" Misty inquired.

"Sorry Mis, I don't. But I could probably find you one if you want. And I get you but you never know about this guy", Jack pressed, giving Misty a nudge in the arm.

"I guess you're right but please don't do anything just yet. I need time to wrap my head around all this sappy love crap going around. And if I do this for you, I need something from you in return, deal?" Misty bargained, putting her hand out.

"Deal", Jack shook. "And I won't do anything, I promise.

"Thank you. Now please, ask Kim out so we can all stop wondering about your love life", Misty finished, pushing Jack towards the door.

"Ok, ok, geez. And wait, you wonder about my love life?" Jack questions, looking over his shoulder back at Misty.

"Sadly, yes. With me having no love life and knowing two people who are perfect for one another and aren't dating but should be, I silently root for you two because I don't have anything better to do", Misty answers, knocking on Kim's door a few times before opening it and shoving Jack inside.

Alex, who was telling Kim about a few ideas she had for a photo spread involving the studio, quickly waves goodbye and exits the room with a grin on her face, seeing Jack stumble in. She quietly closes the door and puts her ear against it, trying to listen to the conversation. "Alex!" Misty hisses, trying to pull her best friend away from the door.

"Mis, stop!" Alex warns firmly, yanking her arm out of Misty's grip.

"No Lex, let them talk in private. Kim will probably end up calling us later tonight anyways, retelling us the whole conversation. And besides, I'm starving", Misty replies in a stern tone.

"Then go get dinner and I'll meet you back at the apartment later", Alex says, gently kicking Misty away.

"Fine, whatever", Misty waves, starting to walk down the hall as the corners of her lips curving upwards into an evil smile. "Suit yourself. While you're being hella nosy, I'll be enjoying yummy, cheesy lasagna. Be safe on your way home".

As Misty was about to push the front door open, it opened with a strong force and she felt a strong grip on her forearm. "That was a cheap shot but a good one at that. Now, let's get some lasagna!" Alex cheers, running to her car.

Misty just laughs at Alex's actions, knowing the few things that she could use against her best friend but followed suit and got into her car and drove off.

OoOoOoOo

And true to Misty's words, Kim did call them later that night, gushing about her love life.

Flashback: "Jack?" Kim questions, with her head tilting in confusion as he stumbles into her office.

Alex waves a quick goodbye and closes the door, allowing the two of them to talk. "I know this is long, long overdue but I feel confident enough that this will be the last time our lives will drastically change and that I will have to do this. Kim, I love you and everything about you so will you go out with me for the third time?" Jack asks in a half hopeful, half teasing tone, knowing that she was going to say yes.

Kim smiles gleefully, her eyes sparkling but then, her eyebrows scrunch together as if she's actually thinking about it which causes Jack to roll his eyes. "Really Kim?" he pushes through gritted teeth.

"My, my Officer Brewer, why so tense?" Kim wonders with a fake worried expression on her face.

"Oh geez, I don't know", Jack replies sarcastically.

"Would you feel better if I said yes?" Kim continued.

"YES!" Jack shouted.

"Then yes, I would love to go out with you again", Kim beams.

"Thank you", Jack breaths out, throwing his hands in the air and then walking over to Kim, arms circling around her waist, pulling her close to him and then leaning down and giving her a kiss that is filled with happiness, love and passion.

The couple continued kissing and knew that this is where they belonged and there was nothing better than being in each other's arms. They enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner, loving the warmness filling their hearts, talking about their friends and all the crazy ideas they had on how to set them up; which surprisingly, weren't all that bad as they came up with the perfect one.

End flashback.

Which brings us to here, two weeks later at a club with Jack and Jerry off of probation along with Leo and Kyle and on their own. Kim and Hilary who were excited for the night had to practically drag Misty and Alex here and Misty and Alex who were very unhappy at the moment as they knew this was all part of a plan. "I hate you all. I hope you know that", Alex seethes through gritted teeth, fixing the black mini skirt Kim forced her to wear. Along with a red tank top with a deep v, causing Alex to worry that the shirt may shift to one side or the other which would end up causing a HUGE wardrobe malfunction.

"I agree with Alex", Misty yells, glaring at the gang, feel self conscious in the purple halter dress Hilary forced her to wear. This too had a deep v-neck along with a low back and Misty just knew something bad was going to happen.

"Come on, don't be mad. This is suppose to be fun!" Hilary reminded with a stern look.

"Yeah, come on. We're sorry for this but I have to admit, you two ladies look hot", Jerry joined in with a smile.

"Not helping Jerry", Alex stated, looking around the club and hating the creepy feeling she was experiencing.

"Ok, how about this. You stay for an hour, max. If you still hate it here, we'll go and you can get us back", Jack reasoned.

Misty and Alex shared a look and then gave in. "Fine, you got yourself a deal Brewer", Alex agreed as she gave him a nod.

The six made their way through the club to where Kyle and Leo were waiting for them. As soon as Jack saw them, he increased his pace as Misty and Alex braced themselves for what was about to happen. Once Misty and Alex saw who Jack was walking toward, Alex immediately stopped, causing Misty to run right into her. "Oh hell no", Alex breathes out.

"What the hell Lex", Missy whispered in her ear.

"That fucker set me up", Alex said, turning to face Misty.

"Um, yeah. We already established that Lex", Misty replied with a duh expression.

"No Mis, I mean that Jack me up with Leo", Alex shouted, moving out of the way from Misty to see the table.

"Oh shit, he really did. Well, it can't be that bad. I mean, you guys still talk right?"Misty pushed, trying to make the situation less awkward.

"Yeah, about that. I kind of lied to you guys. After we hung out that week we were here, Leo never called me again", Alex admitted.

"What? He never called you?" Misty repeated, not believing that a nice guy like Leo would do something so rude.

"Nope, I never heard from him after we got back to North Carolina", Alex continued, looking at the ground.

"Lex, why didn't you tell me? Misty wondered sadly.

"Because I know how you are. You would have comforted me, checked on me constantly and yelled at Jack to you and Kyle, not that I would have minded that, but I'm a big girl. I can handle my own problems", Alex replied with a small smile.

"Ha ha", Misty laughed dryly. "Are you going to be okay?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Nothing really happened between us so we will be civil", Alex promised.

"Okay, Misty nodded as they walked over to the table.

"Alex, Misty!" Kyle cheered, getting up and giving them each a hug.

"Hey Kyle", Alex grins.

"How are you?" Misty asks with a smirk.

"Pretty good. This is my girlfriend Charlotte. Charlotte, this is alex and Misty. They're friends I met through Jack and Jerry", Kyle introduces.

"It's nice to meet you", Charlotte smiles.

"You too", Misty waves as she notices Alex is it next to her anymore.

"Alex, hey. You look great. How are you?" Leo wonders nervously.

"Thanks Leo and I'm good. How are you", Alex, responds calmly.

"Im good and I'm glad you came. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever see you again, Leo confesses.

"Why? It's not like you were ever interested in me", Alex growls.

"What are you talking about?" Leo shoots back getting confused.

"Oh please, don't act all surprised. As soon as I left, you wanted nothing to do with me", Alex says darkly.

"Why would you say that? If anything, it should be the other way around", Leo pushed back.

"Excuse me?" Alex chokes out in disbelief.

"Yeah, you heard me. It was you, not me. I called and texted you multiple times after you left. I called to make sure you made it home safely and everything but after not hearing back from you in over a week I gave up because I thought you didn't want to talk to me, Leo said in one breath, his chest heaving in and out.

"Bullshit! You never contacted me", Alex yelled your back, her face starting to get a little red.

Jack, Kim, Jerry and Hilary all took a step back as Kyle and Misty stared wide eyed at the two who were glaring at one another. Misty was replaying everything that happened well over a month ago as a certain memory instantly popped back into mind. Quickly getting up and knocking Kyle down in the process, Misty rushed over to Alex and Leo, giving them an awkward smile. "Hey Leo", Misty stuttered out.

"Hey Misty", Leo sighed, finally tearing his eyes away from Alex.

"So listen, I know you two are in the middle of a-er, discussion but maybe you are both right to a certain extent", Misty offered.

"Mis, what the fuck are you talking about", Alex groaned, a little angry at her best friend for jumping in the middle of her fight, ruining the moment they had going on.

"All I'm saying is that maybe he really did text you but you never got them. Rem-", Missy started before getting cut off.

"Misty, I appreciate you trying to help but you're really not and also, why are you taking his side", Alex glares.

"First off, I'm not taking sides, Lex. Secondly, I'm not helping, just stating facts and thirdly, just let me finish explaining before you butt in again, okay?", Misty warned.

"Alright, sorry", Alex apologizes, putting her hands up and surrender, not wanting to piss Misty off because believe it or not, she can get pretty feisty.

"Thank you. Now, as I was saying before, maybe it was no ones fault. Leo, believe it or not, Alex really did like you but when we got back home, she drop her phone while we were running through the airport which caused her phone to act up. It got fixed a few days later so maybe the true reason behind this whole story is you really did text her but since she dropped her phone, she didn't get them", Misty finish catching her breath.

A blank stare appeared on Alex's face as she didn't know what was happening. "Shit…That's right", she got herself and then turned to Leo who was also a loss. "Leo, I'm so sorry for going off on you like that. I shouldn't have blamed you and hopefully we can start over", Alex suggests with a guilty smile.

"Alex, it's ok, really. I can understand where you were coming from and I would like to start too because believe it or not, I really like you too", Leo grinned.

Alex smiled a genuine smile and courageously asked, "So, would you like to go out sometime?"

"Oh wow, forward aren't we. But I would love to", Leo agreed.

Alex nodded, a slight blush appearing on her cheeks as Misty whispered, "You're welcome", in her before she left the couple.

Alex rolled her eyes, gently hit Misty in the shoulder and accidentally caused her to lose her balance in her high heels and fall into someone's arms. "Whoa, are you ok?" a deep voice asked as their hands tightened around Misty's back.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you so much", Misty replied as the stranger helped her stand back up.

"Of course, anything for a pretty, wow, beautiful lady like you", the stranger whispered out as Misty looked up at him, causing him to lose his train of thought.

"Thank you", Misty mumbles as she looks down at her feet, cheeks burning like fire. He was a handsome guy, clean-cut hairstyle, tall with brunette hair and hazel eyes and he was super polite.

Misty and the stranger both opened their mouth to start a conversation got cut off by Jack cheering, "Dean, I'm glad you can make it bro!"

Dean slowly tore his eyes aways from the beauty in front of him, smiled at Jack and answered, "Yeah, me too. And thanks for inviting me".

"Of course man! Sorry for interrupting because I was going to introduce you to someone but it looks like you already got that covered so, have fun", Jack winks and then walks away leaving an embarrassed Misty and confused Dean.

The two shared an awkward glance as Dean asked, "Wait? Are you Misty?" a second later after composing himself.

"Yep, that's me", Misty nods shyly.

"Wow, Jack didn't lie wens he said you were pretty. I'm Dean", Dean grins widely, extending a hand.

Misty's cheek never lose their red tint as she's not use to all the compliments but pulls herself to continue on with the conversation. "Thank and I know", she giggles, causing Dean to raise an eyebrow. "Jack said it when he walked over and it's a pleasure to meet you".

"Trust me, the pleasure is all mine. Can I buy you a drink?" Dean offers.

"A drink sounds great, thank you", Misty agrees as the two head off to be bar.

Jack, Kim, Jerry, Hilary and Kyle watched their four friends, pleased and excited that their plans worked and were anxious to see what the future held. Not just for them but for the 'new' coupes as well as they all hoped they gained something out of this new found relationship. Whether it be platonic or romantic, though they were all secretly wishing for the latter, because at the end of the day, everyone needs friends and love.

And there you go folks! Please R&R and let me know what you think.

Please, let's try and reach 565 before the next chapter!

Thanks and until next time,
