Chapter 36 has arrived guys and this is a new chapter that never made it to the original story because the story got taken down by Fanfiction. Now I finally got this chapter done and I hope you all like how this first round fight will go. It took me a while to work on this since I have a lot to deal with the family. So yeah this first round fight I will try to make it good and I hope you all like this.
Thank you to everyone for the reviews, support, and patience for this story. I appreciate it guys and glad you are still here. This first battle between our two trainers will be using their Pokémon who are also their boy/girlfriends so we'll see a lot going on here. I also decided Grace and Mia's Manaphy will not get involve so the two kids won't fight each other.
Now also I need to say that all the battles will have six vs. six Pokémon so everyone will like them and will enjoy what happens in each one. I don't own anything from Pokémon just my OCs and thanks to those who send their OCs too. Also for those that don't know: the Italicor at times a flashback, will represent the Pokémon talking and Bold is for thoughts. Now let's begin with the chapter, enjoy.
Ryan vs. Mia part I
Sinnoh League (Rachel's pov)
After the ceremony began Ryan and I went to the locker room where we began getting ready for the first round. Each of the participants were given our own rooms so we can prepare for our battles, get some rest, and watch the other fights go on. I'm glad we got our own room since it keeps us from confronting Apollo or that mean girl that the others met last night. We don't know who she is, but I could tell she wasn't nice and was hiding something.
I looked over to see Ryan looking over his Pokéballs trying to see which to use first and which to use last. We know Mia is strong and isn't someone we should underestimate. We know some of the Pokémon she has used, but we were informed she is going to use some new ones. So this leaves us at a bit of a disadvantage.
Still, the ones I picked out should help us out when the fight begins. That's as long as we be careful with how we start off the fight.
"Finished," looking over I see Ryan picking his Pokéballs and placed them on his belt. "All right, you ready for this Rachel?"
I nod in response and kneeled down in front of him. Are you ready too? I mean I know you let me picked out the Pokémon we would use, but you think they will help us against Mia?
Ryan moves his hand up to my cheek and begins stroking it. "Yes. I know you made the right choices and I'm going to doubt you. I got to know though. Are you ready to fight Gale?"
I am, I'm just nervous I guess. I replied since I didn't want to fight our friends who helped us finally admit our feelings to one another.
"I know you don't want to fight them, but I bet they're feeling the same way, especially with all they did to help us," Ryan replied as he gets up from his seat. "However, we all agreed when we made it we would have to face each other. We agreed that no matter what happens win or lose we will still be friends."
So, if I end up hurting Gale during our fight we'll still be friends? I asked.
Ryan nods in response and leans down to kiss me on the cheek. "Yeah, but I think he'll try not ending up getting hurt and will try to beat you."
This made me feel a little better, especially since I wasn't planning to lose any of my fights. Thank you, Ryan. I'm ready now.
"Good, now let's get going and go kick some butt," said Ryan as he took my hand and we head out to the door.
Arena (Normal pov)
The crowd were finishing filling up all around the stadium as they get ready for the Sinnoh League. There were people from all around Sinnoh that came over to see who will win this tournament and face the champion. Around the arena there was a large number of police officers that surrounded the area to make sure everything goes well. After hearing what has been going on the last few weeks they weren't going to take any chance with whoever has been causing trouble.
Meanwhile up at the skybox Dawn and her friends are getting ready for the first round to begin. Meanwhile Annabeth and Johanna are with the Pokémon giving them some snacks to eat. They arrived after the matches were announced and agreed to keep an eye on the kids. Johanna also decided to relieve Iris from her cheerleading duties seeing how uncomfortable she was in her outfit.
Dawn was disappointed, but Iris promised she'll still use the pom-poms. This lifted Dawn's spirit a little as she gets ready to do some cheering. Manaphy, Meloetta, and Grace look on from the balcony with anticipation for the first round. Grace was the most excited due to the fact that she was going to see her parents fight first.
"Wow, look at this place. It's so huge," said Dawn who could tell there were more people in the arena than for the Grand Festival. "I wonder if everyone is going to find room to watch this."
"I think that's why many are camped out to watch it on that huge screen outside," said Iris pointing out to the back of the arena.
"Just be glad you all got here early," said Johanna who was sitting next to her daughter. "The traffic was terrible and it took what felt like hours just to get in here."
"And that from the airport to the hotel," said Annabeth who lets out a small sigh. "But hey it was worth it to come here and see my boy compete."
"And our friends too," said Amy who is excited to see her friend compete.
"Yes, them too," said Annabeth who is also looking forward to seeing the others compete as well.
"We'll be cheering for them too," said Dawn as her expression changed a little. "Well, at least not Apollo or that mean girl from last night."
"Yeah, those two are the last people we'll be cheering. Oh Amy come with me for a second I want to get some more snacks," said Iris as she leaves the room with her friend.
Johanna's attention turned to her daughter with what she said. "Did something happened with you girls last night?"
Dawn turns to her mom and decides to tell her what happened. "I was hanging out with Amy, Iris, Amanda, and Mia when this girl walked up talking some bad stuff to us. Another girl came by to help us, but I know that mean girl is working with Apollo."
"Oh she so is and I wouldn't be surprise if those two are dating," said Iris letting out a gagging sound.
"Well, I'm just glad you girls didn't get into a fight," said Annabeth as she turns to Grace who was focused on waiting for her parents to come out that she didn't hear what the women are saying. "Getting into a fight for fun is okay, but not for other bad reasons."
Johanna stared at her friend a little surprised by her comments. "Says the woman who got into fights all the time whenever guys were being jerks to her."
Annabeth narrowed her eyes and glared at her friend. "They were asking for it."
Johanna lets out a small giggle as she focuses back to her daughter. "Anyways, I know you're probably worried about Derek facing that boy Apollo. From what you told me I'm sure he'll be fine and he won't go down so easily."
"She's right," said Annabeth agreeing with her friend. "I've seen Derek face off against Apollo and Ryan many times. He has found ways to make it through those fights and I'm sure this one won't be any different."
"Agreed, so just relax and cheer them on as best you can," said Johanna.
Dawn knew her mom and her friend were trying to cheer her up, but she couldn't help but be worried. After what Cynthia told them about the Pokémon that Apollo has she has been worried one of their friends will fight him. They know now that Derek will be the first to fight him and she's worried he will do something crazy that will end up with him getting hurt. She wants to go find him to stop him from fighting Apollo, but she knew he was too stubborn.
Her only hope is he'll give up before the Pokémon is used and no one gets hurt. At least that's all she can do is hope.
"Dawn? Dawn!" Dawn snapped out of her thoughts and turns to mom who looks concerned. "Are you okay? You looked like you spaced out."
"Oh sorry I guess I was lost in my thoughts," Dawn replied nervously.
"So you didn't hear what I said about not worrying about Derek?" Johanna asked.
"I did," Dawn replied with a reassuring smile. "I know he'll be okay, but I can't help but shake the feeling something might go wrong."
Johanna could tell something was wrong and her motherly instinct wanted her to find out what it is. "Honey, what's wrong?"
"Um nothing, nothing is wrong," said Dawn forgetting she isn't supposed to tell anyone else about what Cynthia told them.
Annabeth like Johanna knew she was lying and wanted to know what is wrong. "Dawn, please tell us what is wrong. Whatever it is you can tell us."
Dawn didn't want to lie to her mom or Annabeth. She wanted to tell them the truth, but at the same time she was worried how they would react if she did tell them. "Well, see the thing is…"
"Guys!" Iris shouted as she came back into the room with Amy. "It's starting!"
The women turn their focus to the center of the arena as the announcer walks over holding a mic. "Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the first round of the Sinnoh League!" the crowd cheered loudly as the announcer continues. "Now as we explained earlier many of the participants that arrived pulled out leaving only eight participants. All eight now know who they will face off as we will try to get through the proceedings as best we can."
The crowd replied with a good reaction despite knowing there are only a few competitors competing. But if they get a chance to see the winner face the champion of Sinnoh then that is good enough for them.
"Now before we begin with the first round fight let's go over the rules," said the announcer as on the big screen the rules appear. "All the battles will be a three-on-three, with both trainers allowed to use substitutes. Once all three have been eliminated on one side or if the trainer chooses to surrender then the match is over. There will be no time-limit and there will be no breaks. So good luck to both trainer and let's have a good clean fight!"
The fans all cheered loudly as the announcer introduces the first of the competitors. "Introducing first, she hails from Jubilife City, Mia!"
Mia came out first with Gallade by her side both receiving a loud cheer from the crowd. Both of them give the crowd a friendly bow and begin waving.
"And introducing her opponent, from the Hoenn region, Ryan!" said the announcer as Ryan appears with Rachel as the crowd cheered loudly for them.
Rachel using telepathy could hear her daughter's voice cheering her on, which made her smile. She sees us.
Ryan returns the smile with a nod. "That's good, I just hope she'll stay still when we get the fight started.
Rachel began giggling. Somehow I doubt that.
They notice Mia and Gale approach them as they extend their hands to them. "Good luck to you two and let's give the people a good show."
Ryan nods as he shakes Mia's hand. "Thanks guys, let's do this then."
Mia nods in response as she turns to Gale who shakes Rachel's hand. Good luck to you, Rachel.
Same to you and no hard feelings whoever wins or loses? Rachel asked.
No hard feelings at all. Gale replied.
The four of them separate as they take their positions across from one another. Rachel stood behind Ryan since the two wanted to wait to see what the first Pokémon will be.
"All right, let the first round begin!" said the announcer as the fight began.
"Flygon! I choose you!" Mia threw her Pokéball out as her first Pokémon came out.
Ryan takes out his Pokéball and throws it out. "Go! Froslass!"
A female Froslass came out as the crowd cheered on. Meanwhile back up at the balcony the others see Ryan's first Pokémon and looked a little surprise.
"I didn't know he had a Froslass," said Amy as she turns to Dawn. "Did you know?"
Dawn shook in response. "It's been a while since we last saw each other so I guess that's when he got one. What do you think Iris?" she noticed Iris is in the corner with a look of fear holding on to her Axew. "Iris? You okay?"
"I-I'm fine I'm just going to sit down for a bit that's all," Iris replied not wanting to tell her friend she has a fear of Ice-type Pokémon.
"Okay then," said Dawn as she focuses back on the battle, that is now getting started.
"Flygon, use Dragonbreath!" Mia ordered as her Pokémon flies towards Froslass firing his attack.
"Froslass, counter with Ice Beam!" Ryan ordered as his Pokémon fires her attack as they collided with one another.
The force of the attacks pushed both of them off knocking them away from one another. The attacks also caused some ice to shatter and sprinkle around the arena as the fans cheered on.
"Flygon, use SonicBoom!" "Froslass, dodge and use Nightshade!" both trainers ordered at the same time as the Pokémon again unleashed their attacks at the same time causing them to collide with one another, and forced both of them back showing how even they are.
"Her Flygon is strong," said Ryan impressed by the strength of Mia's Pokémon.
Rachel nods in agreement. We'll have to wait for the right time to make our move otherwise this will keep going on.
Ryan knew she is right and they'll have to hope for an opening for Froslass to get a good hit in. However, he also doesn't want Flygon to fly around to get an aerial advantage so he'll need to keep him down.
"Froslass, use Icy Wind!" Ryan ordered.
Froslass picks up a strong air of ice as it begins hitting all around the arena floor and barricades. The people took cover from the attack, but none of them got hurt or hit.
"Flygon, fly up!" Mia ordered.
Her Pokémon does as he is told, but as he tries flying up the cold air begins getting the better of him as it slows him down. Mia notices this and knew that Ryan used this attack to keep her Pokémon from going anywhere.
"Clever, but it won't help," said Mia as she turns towards Flygon. "Use, Sunny Day!"
Flygon manages to bring in the sunlight piercing through the ice attack and causing it to heat up. The attack weakened Froslass's ice attacks and boosts up all Fire-type attacks.
"Now, use Flamethrower!"
Flygon now feeling the heat surging through his body flies towards Froslass fires a large fire flame attack.
"Froslass, dodge the attack now!" Ryan ordered his Pokémon uses her speed to try getting away from the attack.
Flygon kept the attacking going, while Froslass does her best to stay out of reach of the attack. Ryan knew though his Pokémon won't keep this up forever and decides to try counter attacking.
"Froslass, use Confuse Ray!"
Froslass gets close enough to hit the attack causing Flygon to become confused and begins firing his attack up in the sky.
"Flygon! Shake it off!" Mia ordered, but she knew her Pokémon couldn't break free of the confusion.
"Froslass, use Ice Beam!" Froslass hits her attack right in the back of Flygon knocking him towards the ground.
Froslass levitated down and wonders if she won. However, just as she began to relax she got hit by a Dragonbreath sending her across the ground towards the wall. She managed to recover from the attack, but was hurt. She looks over and sees Flygon is back up, but like her he is hurt as well.
"Froslass, are you okay?" Rachel asked speaking with her friend.
Froslass nods. "I'm fine, I can keep fighting."
"Are you sure?" Rachel asked.
"Yes, I want to beat him and not have the others get weakened to try beating him," Froslass replied.
Rachel understands and then turns to Ryan who she can tell is considering pull Froslass out. She wants to continue. She can still fight.
"I know she can, but I don't want to risk it," said Ryan who was worried about losing Froslass early in the fight.
Give her a chance. Let her continue for a little bit before switching out. Rachel said wanting to give her friend a chance.
Ryan decided to listen to Rachel and keep Froslass in. "Okay, let's how them what you got girl."
Froslass nods as she turns her attention to Flygon, while Mia watches on with a small smile. "Looks like they're ready to continue. Good, this means we'll see what else Ryan and his friends are capable of."
Backstage (Derek's pov)
I watched the fight through my monitor enjoying how well the fights are going. Mia's Flygon is a lot tougher than I thought it was and Ryan's Froslass despite getting hurt she is still holding her own. I should be focusing on my upcoming fight, but I couldn't help but watch my friends go at it to see who is going on to the next round.
"Why aren't you focusing on your fight with Apollo?" Amanda asked from where she is sitting.
"And miss this fun fight? No thank you," I replied as I sat back to continue watching the fight. "Besides, aren't you also curious to see how the fight is going to go too?"
Amanda was tempted to watch the battle so she can see who she might go up against once she gets passed her fight. However, she was too focus on which Pokémon to use that she didn't have time to watch the other battles. She already knows Mia's Pokémon and learned a bit about what kind Ryan uses. So she's fine on that and wants to focus her attention on something more important.
"Okay, if that's how you feel," I replied as I take out a bucket of popcorn and began eating. "So, any luck on finding out what kind of Pokémon Sora uses?"
I overheard Amanda letting out an annoyed sigh, but soon replied afterwards. "I don't know, but I know that he comes from the Unova region. So whatever kind of Pokémon he uses I know they'll be tough."
I nod in agreement recalling my times I battled against Sora. "Just take your time. From the look of this fight it's going to go on for a good while."
Arena (Normal pov)
The fighting has gone on for a good while as both Pokémon continued their fight against one another. Froslass used her ice attacks, while Flygon dodged them. Sunny Day finally was gone and when Flygon tried using it again, Froslass was there to stop him. It was an even fight between them and they are the first Pokémon out of the six to start fighting.
Ryan, this fight is taking too long and Froslass might not last too long. Rachel said regretting convincing Ryan on letting their friend out into the fight.
Ryan nods in agreement. "Not much we can do about it now, except hope we can find that opening I was talking about."
Mia knew her Pokémon didn't have much left either and needed to end this soon. "All right, Flygon, use Dragon Claw!"
Flygon uses his speed to charge at Froslass with his claws glowing. Ryan saw this and came up with an idea on how to end this fight.
"Froslass use Ice Beam and create a dome around you!"
Froslass didn't hesitate the order and used her attack to create as her trainer wanted a dome made of ice to surround her. Flygon sees this and stops mid-way of the attack and backs away.
"Nice move, but not good enough. Flygon, use Flamethrower!" Mia ordered as her Pokémon does as his trainer ordered and uses his attack on the ice dome, but finds it's taking too long. "What is she doing in there?"
Rachel can tell what Ryan is doing and begins to smile. You still have her making more around the dome to fortify it, right?
Ryan nods in response. "That way the attack won't melt away the ice completely and will give us time for the second part of my plan."
And what is your plan? Rachel asked hoping to tell Froslass what it is so she knows what to do.
"Froslass knows this," Ryan replied as he gives Rachel a small smile. "It's what we used to beat one of the gym leaders while you stayed with Grace."
Rachel recalls how before they met up with the others that she was staying with Grace, while Ryan went to fight the last gym leader. He told her when they got back how he came up with a new move for Froslass to use to help them defeat an enemy they might face in the Sinnoh League. She wasn't sure what it was, but she figures it will help them win this fight.
"Flygon, use Hyper Beam!"
Flygon charges up his attack and fires a powerful energy beam into the ice dome breaking through it. With the dome destroyed Flygon flies up hovering over it to make sure this isn't a trick when he gets close to it.
Suddenly he is hit from behind by an Ice Beam attack. He turns around and sees Froslass phasing through the destroyed ice.
"Now, use Blizzard!"
Froslass hits Flygon with a strong blizzard attack that knocks him towards the ground. As the dust settled Flygon is checked on by the referee who notices he is knocked out.
"Flygon is unable to continue, Froslass is the winner!"
The crowd cheered loudly as Flygon's image on the screen turns dark indicating he is knocked out, leaving Mia with only two Pokémon left.
Ryan walks towards Froslass and pets her on the head. "You were amazing out there Lass. I'm proud of you."
Froslass smiled happily and nods her head, while Rachel approaches her as well. "Good job hanging in that fight, but do you want to continue?"
Froslass nods in response. "I can go for another round, unless you think I should rest."
Rachel knew it would be best to get some rest while someone else takes her place. "For now get some rest."
"All right, I think we should switch out. Rachel, what does Froslass say?" Ryan asked.
She wants to switch, which I think would be a good idea if the next Pokémon she uses is stronger than Flygon. Rachel replied.
Ryan agrees and takes out his Pokéball. "Froslass, thanks for what you did now return."
Mia sees Ryan putting his Pokémon away and figures he is playing it safe. She decides to do the same and returns Flygon back to his Pokéball.
"That was good work, Flygon. I'm proud of you," she then turns her attention to Gale who looked impressed. "Looks like Ryan is a lot tougher than we thought. Would you like to step in and fight?"
Gale nods as he walks over and takes his position. Now let's see what you're made of.
Ryan sees Gale making his move and then turns to Rachel. "You ready to get involved?"
Rachel nods as she floats over to be the next Pokémon to fight Gale. Let's do it.
The referee stood near the middle as he moves both flags up. "Let the battle begin!"
Meanwhile (Apollo's pov)
I watched as Ryan and his friend battle it out to see who will make it to the next round. I knew Ryan would win, especially if he uses the Pokémon I know that woman Cynthia gave him. They thought we didn't know what they were doing or what the champion was planning. We didn't bother trying to stop them though since in the end it won't matter what they do.
In the end they will all fall before me and if Ryan makes it to the finals with me then I will finally make him pay. Just like I'll make Derek pay for what he has done to me.
Looking over I noticed my dark Pokéball is beginning to move around. I knew why it is and I grabbed it so I can settle it down.
"Don't worry, I'll let you out soon enough and when I do everyone will fall before us."
Part one of this chapter is done and the next one will have the second part between Ryan vs. Mia. Will their fight be good now that we have Rachel and Gale going at it? How will the fight go, especially with their human partners by their side? And who will go on to the next round to face either Tamina or Nova?
Find out next time to see what happens next. I'm sorry for not making this long guys, I was busy with the family and other stuff going on in my personal life. I promise though I will try to get the next chapter out soon. So I hope everyone is patient and will wait till the next chapter comes out.
