At the bus station, where he stopped to check maps and look for possible clues leading to Miku, Kaito ran into Neru.
Neru. The person who had started all of this. If she hadn't tricked him into getting into trouble with the Kagamine duo, then he would never have been ragged enough to fall into Meiko's trap. If that hadn't happened he would never have been beaten up, and Miku would have never needed to leave to find a way to cheer him up.
If it weren't for Neru Miku would have been safe.
"You!" he shouted, pointing a finger at the troll, who was startled enough to fumble while texting. "This is all your fault!"
Neru scowled at the message. She'd been texting a – totally bogus – recipe for a red hot chili dip for Mizki. It now read –
Well, something rather different. She wasn't sure how the 'c' and the 'k' had been pressed, but it had, instead of the 'p'.
Making a note to fix that error later, she turned to Kaito. "What do you want, loser," she snapped.
"If it weren't for you then Miku would be with me instead of being missing!"
Like most normal people, Neru didn't pick up on the ripples her prank had led to creating. She did the normal thing and said "Huh?"
Kaito couldn't hit Neru – troll as she was, she was a girl and he had been taught that a man should never hit a woman. It was somewhat excused if the woman cross-dressed like Mizki did every now and then to sneak into the men's changing room at the gym in order to take pictures, but Neru didn't count.
So he threw a tantrum instead.
