"Do I look okay?" I muttered into the air.

Several heads turned in my direction, and the faces became blank. I guess that answered my question if I looked alright. Prom. It was finally here. After a few weeks of horrible school work that turned into tears for most of the seniors, our night was finally here. Which meant only one thing. Graduation was near.

"Taylor. You look beautiful."

Sarah walked up to me, and spun her finger in a circle. "Spin for us." She asked.

Nodding my head, I picked up my gown and slowly spun in a circle. The theme for prom was Disney fairy-tales, so whom better to go than as Belle? Actually, the girls and I drew names out of a hat and I ended up with Belle, so I was stuck with her. It actually worked out well for me because my dress was gold, and gold was Chad's favorite color.

My dress was floor length, and it had silk and lace undertones. The silk was a light crème color that peeked from underneath the gold lace. The lace was scrunched up, but had diamond accents that ran across the lace. My sleeves were bits of fabric that came to my upper arms. My dress had a halter top neckline, but to be sure that I would not be kicked out for my dress I had it modified. I turned the halter top into a sheer lace top.

"Chad won't know what to do with when he lays his eyes on you."

I smiled at everyone. Chad's mother had tears in her eyes, until she remembered something. While the rest of the girls and I chatted quietly, Chad's mother came back with something in her hands.

"Taylor, you can't forget your crown." Chad's mother spoke.

Giving Chad's mother a curtsy, I tilted my head down so she could place my crown on my head.

Gabi grabbed my wrist and dragged me towards the door. "We have a ball to get to!"

–.-.-

I rang my hands into knots. Why East High decided to go through with this torture, I would not know. So, East High decided that since we were having a Disney ball that the females would need to be called out in a Cinderella fashion. Gabi played into this part perfectly, she spent months trying to find a limo that would be able to look some what of the Disney part, and the girls all rode together. The guys were not allowed to see what our final outcome was until we were called into the building. Sure the line was long, but what was killing me was being called out by my full name in front of majority of my class.

"Taylor we're up next!"

I think I was starting to feel faint.

Kelsi, who was going as Mulan, grabbed my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Looking down at Kelsi, I gave her a small smile and squeezed her hand back just as tightly.

As moments ticked by, everyone was called. Gabi as Princess Jasmine, Sharpay as Rapunzel, and Violet went as Meg. Each had plastered a smile on their faces as the doors opened quickly for them, and shut just as tightly behind them.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the court, I present to you maiden Taylor McKessie."

Taking a deep breath, I picked up my gown and slowly walked forward. The gym doors opened with a creak and a bright light engulfed me. Of course since I was blinded by the light, I heard a few notes of Beauty and the Beast. Once, my eyes adjusted to the light I took in the gym. Normally our gym looked, and smelt like...exercise, but no. Our gym smelt..lovely. There were helium balloons high up, touching the ceiling, but some had twinkling steamers attached to some of the balloon strings. There were what looked like silk sheets that covered the ceiling that had twinkling lights intertwined with the silk. These same sheets, hung down around the walls and covered up the lame wall paneling that most of us were used to seeing. All in all, the room was beautiful.

Picking up my gown I began to walk, when I noticed that I was walking up a small ramp. At the end of the ramp had two small stairs that I had to walk down. When I approached the top of the first step, a hand appeared in my line of vision.

"Princess?"

Looking up, my eyes found dark pools. Chad. I gave him a shy smile before placing one of my hands into his. Chad tightly gripped my hand and helped me down the last step. Chad and I walked over to the dance floor, and before I knew it Chad and I were swallowed into the group of dancing teenagers dancing to popped up versions of Disney songs.

- - -Beauty and the Beast pop version though? - - -

My hands shook. I did not want to do this, but I was being...forced to do so. I stood around the bend of lockers, while I watched as the line slowly depleted. I tried to see if I could eye what Taylor looked like, but maybe I already missed her going in. My orders were to get Taylor to follow me, and lead her to..him. I did not approve of this, but I had to.

The door man that was opening the door for the girls to go in, opened the door and slipped through it. Here was my chance. I straightened myself up, and strutted around the corner. The door man was flicking through his phone when I walked up to him.

"Hi there, uhm..do you mind moving over?"

The guy didn't even look up at me, and opened the door for me. Giving him a thanks, I popped through the door. That was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I figured that I would have to do more work to get in.

I just hope..Taylor does not hate me after this.

I was actually having fun with Chad at prom. I was not planning to let Gabi in on that fact. Chad was dressed up as the beast, how he knew what I was going as; I had no idea. He looked so handsome in his costume. He tied his curls back with a ribbon like the beast actually did in the movie. He even had a cut out of lumiere and cogsworth in his pocket. Chad had his arms around my waist and my arms were wrapped loosely around his neck.

"You look beautiful Taylor, I don't know if I already told you that tonight."

Yes, this is the third time.

I nodded my head at Chad. "Thank you."

Chad's face contoured into embarrassment. "I'm sorry, I'm just..really nervous. And I just wanted to be sure that you knew how I feel about you tonight."

I couldn't help but giggle. I didn't know what else to say to that statement.

"I'm nervous too, Chad."

Apparently I said the right words, because Chad's face turned into a smile. Chad continued to turn me around on the dance floor.

"You look beautiful too tonight Chad. I don't know if I said that already tonight."

That put Chad into a chuckling fit. Chad asked if I wanted some punch, and I needed a cool down after all the dancing he and I did. Chad lead me off of the dance floor, and over to a table where our group had snagged after most of us rested after dancing. The guys went in search of the punch, and the girls began to coo about how Chad and I looked on the dance floor.

"It won't be too long, I bet Monday morning, Taylor and Chad will be a couple." Gabi boasted.

"I will get in on that bet." Kelsi handed Gabi a five dollar bill.

"Kelsi!" I chirped.

Kelsi shrugged, and the girls carried on with the jabs. I glanced around the dance and my eyes fell to a girl.

"Star?" I whispered.

I blinked my eyes a few times and the girl was still in the same spot. She never locked eyes with me. I got up, with a mission in mind to talk to the girl that looked like my sister. The girls called out, I told them that I was going to say hi to Martha. The girls looked around and Martha was sitting at the table with us.

As my feet carried me to my sister, the distance closed between the two of us. A person walked in front of me, and I stopped to keep from bumping into the person. When the person moved out of my way, Star had disappeared. Standing dumbfounded, I noticed that the side door was open and was slowly closing behind itself. I walked towards the closed door and followed behind, in hopes that I was following my sister.

- -x -x - - -

I was hoping that Taylor was following behind me. I couldn't look behind me because if I did I would lose my nerve. I really did not want to mess this up. If I came back empty handed, I was in big trouble and Taylor would be in even bigger trouble.

"Star!"

Yup, I had Taylor behind me. It pained for me to not turn around right then and tell her of the horrible things that I had endured while I thought she was dead.

"Star please! I know it's you."

One foot in front of the other. I can do this.

- x-x-x - -

I followed behind Star for a long time, I followed her until we reached a small house. Of course it was dark outside, and there were no lights on. Had it been day time, I would have noticed that it was our old home that we lived in before we moved to a better home after my mom died. I had started to question why Star was leading me to this house. I guess I had come up with the idea that maybe she had heard that our dad was out of jail and this is where she was living, alone.

Had I been paying attention, I would have noticed that Star slipped inside the house. I came to a dead halt when I didn't see her anymore. Was I following a ghost?

I walked around the side of the house and noticed that the back door was open a sliver. Would this be entering and breaking if I got caught?

My mind ran to an image of Star, close to death and her soul reached out to me to come and save her. I would deal with being charged with entering and breaking later, my baby sister needed me! I pushed myself through the door.

I walked into a kitchen. I searched around on the floor as best as I could with dim lighting from my eyes. No Star. I decided to move farther into the house, and came to a living room.

"Star!" I cried out.

Star was on her knees tied up with a sock tied around her mouth. Behind her was a dark figure that I could not make out.

"Well well, looks like you were able to deliver after all little one."

I knew that voice.

"Baby girl, don't you look beautiful in your prom dress."

Shit.

"I'm sorry that I had to ruin your evening, but I wanted my baby girls back with me again. It's time that we as family get together."

"Can we just get with the killing already please?"

I couldn't help but turn around. My grandma walked in behind me and snatched the crown off of my head. She brought the crown over her knee to let it break into pieces. My grandma, walked over to my dad and stood next to him.

"Patience mom, I haven't even told Taylor that I was with her when she picked out her dress with her friends."

My heart stopped thumping in my chest. The eyes I felt on me. He was there with me. My dad extended his hands and walked from behind Star and closed somewhat of the distance between us. My dad left about four feet between us before he started talking again.

"Like your grandma said, I've gathered you here today to kill you. If your lucky I'll make sure it doesn't hurt too much."

My hands came up to rest right above my heart. I let out a small cry, and realized that I would die in front of my sister. Some great reunion this was.

- -End of Chapter - - -

I'm back guise! It only took me..a long time to come back. I'm sorry that this chapter is quite over due. I couldn't write without finding the perfect dress for Taylor. I mean it's her prom, she needs the perfect dress. And Chad dressed up like Beast. I could picture him with hair, but I think without hair is better. Dirty Truth should be finished before summer starts. There are only three more chapters left of this looooong and drawn out story. Reviews make me write faster! Thanks for hanging in with me. Till next time!
